Amazing place for relaxed dinner with friends. Busy and very efficient staff
The perfect spot for a leisurely, informal but delicious meal. Have been coming here since they opened & they’ve kept their format because it works. Staff are friendly but not attentive - we had to ask for drinks each time we needed a refill - but it doesn’t detract from the overall vibe. Fresh, interesting dishes with lots of choice.
Just excellent all round. My birthday lunch and it was perfect.
Very friendly welcome, prompt professional service. Open kitchen serving small (and not so smallplates of inventive tasty food. Heavy on the seafood. A very nice experience and became busy. Booking probably essential. I believe revived by crowdfunding after a potential lease closedown. Well worth a visit.
Really delicious food and portion sizes just right to be both filling and allowing you to try a range of options. Really enjoyed the pigeon and the mussels.
Very nice decor, interesting menu and tasty food. Mackerel dip was very well presented with hot flatbread pieces and the Calamari one of the best Ive had this year. Managed to get a booking this time (but only just!as its always over subscribed , which says it all .
Lovely staff. Lovely location. Absolutely fantastic food... even got mu mum to try new foods and she is glad that she did as she discovered new things that she didnt think shed like. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. Had a lovely lunch - Ive not 1 bad comment and 100% will visit again
Relaxed dining, great selection, fantastic food, cant wait to go back again!
Lovely cocktails, delicious food and friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely return.
Had a Sunday lunch. If you want to sit inside then book. We sat outside which was fine on a August day. Very tasty tapas. Naturally I had the patatas bravas..... always a good bet. Lovely staff and always entertaining when they come out from the kitchen trying to give you a dish for another table. Recommended.
Great popular spot on the coast for meze which was super tasty.
I must say the quality of the foods were amazing. All fishes were fresh and so yummy.Aubergine and courgettes were so well made and fabulous.
There is no doubt the food is good, so the kitchen staff are good and the waitresses are sweet too, but every time weve eaten here we have been frustrated by some odd and awkward rules about what you can eat at some tables rather than others, and when and how you can book among others. Not sure if these inflexible, non customer oriented rules are made by the guy who seems to be in charge or an unseen owner, but the lack of interest in the happiness of the customer ultimately makes the staff then seem haughty. Finally, asking for some bread to mop up the juices on an empty plate of tiger prawns last night we were brought some sourdough and all tucked in, only to be told.a few moments that we now needed to pay another £5.95 which put a frustrating twist on yet another meal there which quite honestly I expect and hope to be our last. Disappointing, again.
Booked a table for 2 at lunch time.e.Service was second to none. The food is very good and drink too.Highly recommended. Will be returning soon
One of my favourite seaside restaurants and so glad they survived lockdown. Feel the cancellation policy is a little unwelcoming as it’s a 50 mile drive for us but appreciate than many people just don’t show up.Great menu and difficult to know what to pick. Food comes as and when it’s ready as it’s freshly prepared. The Indian spiced Chickpeas where prefect as were the deep fried prawns. Chargrilled chilli squid was a little chewy for me but the mutton and feta koftas were a good choice.
Unforgettable dinning experience, it’s a must-go in the area. The quality of food is amazing, staff are very friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable, 5*s and looking forward to coming back again.
An extremely good restaurant specialising in meze style food - highly recommended. Outdoor seating available overlooking the sea. Some of the indoor seating by the windows also has the same vista. Good choice of wines but only appears to sell beer by the bottle (mainly Sheps). For such a high quality establishment, the dress code and atmosphere is delightfully relaxed (I wore shorts & a t-shirt). The staff work hard and are lovely. Point to note - due to the location (on a road junction), parking can be an interesting exercise and there is no parking on site.
Nice restaurant. Good menu choice. Friendly, attentive staff. Food cooked lovely. Not rushed at the table. Had a lovely evening. Will definitely return. Thank you.
The food is outstanding, the staff are so helpful and attentive. The head chef, Nikki, runs a well oiled machine in that kitchen. The food is sourced ethically and with a conscience and is exceptionally prepared to maximise flavour. Loved it and it is a must-do when in Whitstable!!
The food is absolutely delicious, laid back atmosphere and staff are super friendly.
Came here for my birthday on a recent visit to Whitstable. The food is excellent, all really fresh and delicious. We had the meze to share, lots of different and interesting flavours and a world apart from other mezes weve tried. Its a lovely spot right by the sea, the staff are super friendly and helpful and theres a really great atmosphere. We will definitely come back on our next visit, its advisable to book.
Wonderful food at a great location served in a relaxed atmosphere. Just spot on, many thanks
Fantastic, friendly service. Absolutely delicious food. Can’t wait to go back!
Great selection of food. Plenty of room between tables. Staff are always on hand when needed. Good prices. Will keep going back for sure.
Really good dishes made with care and attention. The service was really good and even if the place is open plan it didnt feel like it.
Love this restaurant, great food and really lovely staff
Stunning food, stunning staff. The entire experience was A1. Got a table on the off chance. Its like the tardis. From the outside it looks small but inside is huge and beautifully designed. A lovely bar area and views of the sea. The sharing platters, as well as individual, tapas style, dishes are superb. We had salads, cured meats, fish and oh the cheese! Eat out a lot, everywhere, and this place holds its own amongst the best Ive ever eaten. Please dont go as next time I may not get a table.
Pleasant meze/tapas style restaurant and bar with nice food. Limited menu for children. Good atmosphere.
We make the journey down from North West Kent as and when we can, food is fresh and love the seasonal board which shows support to local sources. The sole is simply stunning. Staff are so welcoming and warm and pay especial attention to be the kids. Well run family feel restaurant dont change the recipe!
Pleasant staff. No seating inside so ate outside at 8-9 but lits of flying insects and cold so didnt stay for dessert. Food was nice and well cooked.
Fantastic food, fantastic service! Couldnt ask for more.If you havent been to Jojos yet... Do yourself a favour & book a table. Also try the mackerel pate...no words!!
Great food at realistic prices. Friendly staff. A bit noisy as there were a few noisy large parties.
Staff friendly and welcoming, service good, comfortable surroundings, delicious olives, would have liked a better selection of tapas on the menu, meat mezze overpriced.
The positives: Friendly staff. Some nice food. Obviously popular with families despite the below.Negatives: Yes the food is nice but is extortionate (and I live in London).Seemed quite up itself - like its unique so they can charge whatever they want, but the concept is far from unique and the staff uniform makes it seem more fast food than high end restaurant which their prices suggest.£12.95 for four croquettas is ridiculous, I had hoped wed get a few more or at least they would be larger than usual but they arent.Bulgar wheat moroccan salad - just bulgar wheat cooked in some stock with about 4 sultanas and some parsley. No high chairs, no kids menu. We would have probably stayed another 30-45mins and spent another £20-30 had our toddler been able to sit in a high chair rather than kneeling on a normal chair. The waitress said The number of times people say that to me, I dont know why we dont have them, there are always kids running around the place too. Clearly its something the owners dont want to provide as theres a review on here from 3 years ago stating the same. There is a baby change (though no hygienic nappy bin).Save your money and go to Samphire in Whitstable instead. Despite being a more upmarket restaurant they were so well set up for kids.
JoJo’s offers and amazing selection of super fresh seaside tapas. The staff are just as amazing as the food, super friendly and very attentive! They offer a great seasonal menu that changes all the time so you can keep going backThe fresh grilled mackerel on their main menu is the best I have ever eaten!
Absolutely brilliant evening celebrating our 1st anniversary together! Couldnt have picked a better restaurant, and being only a 5 minute cab ride from our home, what better place!! From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel so welcome! This was my 1st time going to JoJos and had heard so much about it from my girlfriend. Well........I wasnt disappointed! The food was AMAZING!!!! 🤩🤩 champagne, well of course! Im out with my wife to be!! 🤷♂️The bar staff even let us keep the bottle and cork for prosperity! Have been wanting to try Jojos for ages and it did not disappoint! The food was so delicious and they staff were really helpful. The venue was also lovely & cosy and the cocktails were fab. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone!
Loved it! From the friendly service from the moment you enter, to the great food choices. We were taken to our table and despite it being a really busy evening we were well looked after with recommendations on what to order. We had vegetarian and certainly not disappointed at all. Would recommend 👍🏽
As ever, JoJos was great. Lively and good atmosphere for Friday lunch for the 4 of us with the usual menu supplemented by specials (the skate cheeks were very good). Excellent food and service at reasonable price - whats more to want. Well be back.
Always a beautiful lunch at one of our favourite spots!!Be sure to book in advancedBut worth it!
Some really great seasonal dishes (pheasant croquettas and wood pigeon with the most amazing sauceand, of course, a timeless mixed meze plate as a starter. Perfect service - always friendly and welcoming.
The food here is absolutely delicious. It is all freshly prepared and you can tell. Very extensive menu and everything that we ate was delicious. The staff were super friendly and very helpful. They were very attentive to everyones needs and always smiling.I highly recommend a visit, though I believe that booking is essential as it was quite full when we visited on a Saturday at lunchtime.
Great neighbourhood restaurant. The inside is surprisingly pleasing. Calm and spacious and airy. The service was excellent and food well made and presented. The special baby squid was outstanding. Will definitely return soon.
Always excellent food. Can recommend the mixed mezé starter, followed by haddock goujons and mixed green salad. Can be a bit noisy though but it’s people enjoying themselves.A bit pricey but worth it.Can fully recommend for a special and memorable meal with friends.
Lovely welcome, even though they had stopped serving food, we were able to shelter from the rain and have a cuppa. They even brought a bowl of water and some chicken over for our dog.
Amazing quality and variety. Great cocktails and wine selection. The food is all perfect and brought out so quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly but not informal either. Staff are all lovely and really go the extra mile. Well well well worth a visit
Last weekend before UK “freedom day”. As usual our favourite restaurant in Whitstable Kent.
What a fantastic date night venue. We loved it. Drank rather a lot of wine so its all a bit hazy. But what I remember is that the food was AMAZING!
Amazing food, the half platter was very tasty and generously portioned. You should try and book beforehand as it gets very busy on the weekends. The cocktails were great too. Its a very pleasant 25 minn walk along the beach from the harbour.
What a lovely dinner we had in here! The restaurant itself has a lovely feel inside. The food which was tapas/mezze based which is great as if you are hungry you can still order more. The food was fantastic and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning to this establishment.
