Small, old-school animal park with extras like camel feeding, pony & boat rides & a playground.
Johor Zoo in Pontian Kechil
Description
It is stated as Open on google map. but when i was there just now at 11 it is still closed.Deceiving betul.I called nobody pick up also. Can see many people was there and get disappointed. Paid grab for nothing.
MoreA very cool place for joggers as you jog you can looking at animals. The entrance fee are very affordable and good for family outing.
MoreThe zoo ticket is really cheap. But the animal inside is very less and countable.the recent visit, the elephant is missing,.perhaps due to renovation. No animal feeding time, not even a performance. cause this is the only zoo in johor, wish there is a improvement. But I will said u paid whats you get.
MoreThe zoo is considered small compared to other zoo that Ive been. But suprisingly, there are a lot of animals. I advise to visit between 9am to 11am as some nocturnal animals still awake. The zoo gave opportunities for the public to feed their deers and camels. Would be a great experience for kids.
MoreVery cheap entrance for RM2 (Adultsand RM1 (kids). Small compact zoo with birds and wild animals such as tigers and lions. There are few camels as well. Mini stalls selling fruits, drinks, burgers and junk food. Not recommend to bring stroller as most of the area with stairs. Finding parking would be challenging as the is not proper parking space. Just park at the roadside or mosque area up in the hill.
MoreWorth visiting. Entrance fee is just RM2 for adult. Its a mini zoo, not much to see. Can easily spend an hour here. Some of the displays have been upgraded, so thats good. Theres no designated parking lot, so park at your own risk. I suggest visiting early because the weather will be hot during noon.
MoreThis is the best zoo in Malaysia. Cause it only cost RM 2 for an adult! It’s impossible ticket price for any zoo. Maybe it’s not very clean or smelly but it’s suitable for family to bring their child to learn the animals. It’s very worth to come. But advised if the weather is bad please bring along umbrella as well.
MoreThe zoo is a decent place to bring along with your family and kids whenever you are in JB.. The entrance fee is only rm2 and absolutely cheap. The vibes felt old fashioned and there are not too much attractions offered. Need to come here at least once in your lifetime and its totally worth it.
MoreEntry ticket is at 2rm. Poorly maintained. Many of the animals have wounds on them left untreated. For the price you can to see various animals. They are also expanding for new displays but I would prefer them to prioritise to the animals currently in it first. You can climb up the stairs that give you a good vantage point to look at the animals. You can also feed the camels. Zoo is equiped with eatery, convenient store and kids facility.
MoreEntrance price is very cheap, just rm2.Variety of animals, all seemingly well fed. A very good place to spend 1~2 hrs with family
MoreEntrance fee is RM 2 for adults and RM 1 for children. Quite a collection of animals, look healthy and well taken care of. The layout is old with cages and plenty of concrete barriers. Dont think it has any sort of rehabilitation programme for the animals, merely a place of exhibit...
MoreWith the price you paid, it was really worth it.. RM2 (Rp6800for adult and RM1 (3400for kid... A lot of animals variety. However, I am sure we are okay to triple that amount for admission, but upgrade the place more..Consider it is zoo for apprentice, the kids will be happy to be up close with the animals.Forget Singapore over priced zoo! Definitely..
MoreIt was quite messy and the animals seem old but it was a nice experience cause we were able to see animals up close compared to the other zoos. We were having fun and will be back for sure. Sorry for only have two pictures to show cause the rest are videoss
MoreThis zoo was very entertaining. The price was very cheap. You can see many animals here. There were also the most dangerous snake in the world in this zoo which was Cobra King
MoreIt’s very cheap for adult entrance only RM2 children RM1, and animals are so cute. But must to prepare mosquito liquid otherwise you will itchy all the day 😂There is no parking in the zoo, you just need to park out of street.
MoreA small zoo that one can complete visiting within one or two hours. But that does not mean there is not much to see. In fact, its quite interesting and well worth the time and entry fee which is quite cheap at RM2 per adult.
MoreCheap (2MYR adults, 1MYR child ticketbut not very clean. Need some maintenance. Animals looks a bit sad. Not as first thing to see in Johor, on the other hand - not that much to see in Johor at all. Long way with no footpatch from JB Sentral. Recommend only, when youre really bored.
MoreEntrance fee is rm2 for adult and rm1 for kids. They got lots of animals and with the fee paid, it was indeed a splendid experience.
MoreVery good, the zoo is not too crowded .. lots of animals, yet the zoo is kinda old already .. but its a decent place to visit with your friends or family .. kids will love this place. Bravo
MoreVery interesting place to visit with kids and family having a bonding time spend together in the weekends or weekdays..they have a lot of animals here not bad compare to other zoo have in malaysia..but with cheepest price of entrance all kind of people can enjoy the seen variety of animals here such as hippos, tigers, lions, camels, crocs, and all types of birds here..and many more..The Zoo Johor is wonderfull nice ,beautifull, clean, not smelly and many knowledge can we gains here especially for childrens..
MoreGot lots of improvement compare to the past. Some of the zoo facilities are still under renovation. There are rooms of improvemet in the aspect of cleanliness in the animals habitat especially the water and pond that provided to animals is full of algae. Hope the authority can make it better!
MoreA very well managed little zoo at the centre of Johor Bahru city. Price of the ticket is only RM 2. The animal collection inside is not the most complete but its well worth the money you have to pay for the ticket. Bring umbrella or wear sunscreen as daytime in Johor can be very hot and stuffy
More• Very cheap entry fee RM2 only.• Will need more energy & burn your calories :)• Good experience to bring our Son.• Consider clean area.• Toys or souvenirs around area consider cheap.
MoreThe ticket price is not so expensive but Im satisfied spend my offday at there with my family. The zoo well maintained and very clean too.The animals are looks very active too...i like the tiger family and lions there.
MoreLove the place. It is an old fashion zoo and price is super affordable at RM2 and RM1 for kid. Super low price. Great place to bring the kids around. Highly recommended.
MoreRm2 person and really worth what you see. Not so hot here have a lot trees. Lion king is big and beautiful.
MoreDo NOT go to this zoo. It is animal cruelty! With over 4000 reviews and 4*, me and my partner took a trip to this zoo for what we thought would be an enjoyable day, I almost left this place in tears. Whilst a few enclosures are adequate the majority of these enclosures wouldnt be suitable for anything to live in them!First of all, the enclosures are full of rubbish, plastic bottles and wrappers were discarded all over the place. We saw one chimp trying to eat a plastic lid, whilst turtles were swimming in between rubbish. There is also a smell to the zoo, and bin bags full of rubbish dotted around the place. Most enclosures were small concrete cells with 2 or 3 bare bits of tree trunks and a tyre hanging from one of them. There was next to no greenery in the lions, sun bears, monkeys or snake enclosure. One snake enclosure housing 2 Burmese pythons isnt even big enough for the snakes to uncurl themselves properly, and it was just concrete, that was it.The elephants were swaying from side to side, the ostriches were pecking away at the rusty fence. There was a pond in one of the enclosures full of animal poo, at first I thought the enclosure was abandoned, but it had animals in it.Yes, the admission price is cheap, and yes young children may enjoy this place because they dont understand the abysmal condition these animals are living in, none of this makes it okay.. Humans need to do better.Up the admission price and sort this zoo out! With the amount of different species here, some love and care for these animals and a face lift, this zoo could be wonderful.
MoreEntrance fee is cheap. Walking distance from my hotel and not so many animals for its just small place. I think need a little improvement for the Lions and tigers area
MoreEntry tickets are very cheap (RM2 for adults, RM1 for age 2-12but the zoo itself is awesome. They have gorillas, elephants, bears, lions, tigers, peacock, kakak tua, camels and many more.
MoreThe entrance fee is the cheapest I think at only RM2 per person. The animals was all health and big. But not all animals are there. But interesting place to visit.
MoreGood value for money. Only two ringgit for the entry fee. Had a lot of bizzare animals there. The animals was quite active.
MoreLets put it straight: do not benchmark this place against the Singapore Zoo! Its a fraction of the size, tickets are about 2% of the cost and it will soon be a hundred years old! Yes, the welfare of the animals could be improved, and so could the cleanliness and the information boards. But for what it is, they keep quite a number of animals and its a pretty good place to see them up close, even amidst the crowd. Lets hope the new zoo in Iskandar Puteri gets finished before this place hits a hundred! Psst...they have two hippos and a pride of lions here...
MoreTickets was very cheaper compare to other Zoo. RM1 for kids 2-12 years old. Adult RM2. Suitable to bring your kids here. They will enjoy it.
MoreThe fee is the cheapest in de world😁; Rm2 & Rm1 for adult & kid respectively. Kids enjoy feeding the elephan, osterich, camel & goat. The hyppo hardly can be seen as the weather is hot.. similarly for lion & tiger.. all hiding under the shade away from visitors view. Visitor can also ride boat or ride poney. The only hassle is finding parking.
MoreVery cheap entrance ticket RM2! Not much to see as zoo is quite small. Photo session with snake and feed elephants. Enclosure is not well maintain but no complains as fee is too cheap.
MoreFees Rm 2.00 for adult, Rm 1.00 for kids two years and above. Spent about one hours here. Can feed the animals, Rm 2.00 per portion. And enjoy your family outing.
MoreA great venue to be with your family especially when you have growing up kids. Surely cannot be compared to other well known zoos as reflected by the entrance fees of just RM 2 for adults and RM 1 for toddlers. The best view is the Malayan Tiger or Harimau Malaya where we can get up close but not personal with the tiger itself. While we were there, my kids had a good time too feeding the camels with veggies.Only downsides is there was no sight of any giraffes (which my kids had expecting to see beforehandand the route for viewing the animals one by one is a bit off (not like for example Melaka Zoo where the route from the entrance will drive us to each of the animals until reaching the exit.Overall its a nice place to have a break with your kids and with the masjid is just in fornt of the zoo completes the visit.
MoreRM 2 adult entrance fee, children half the price! Absolutely value for money! Of cos, this is a small Zoo. No fancy nor exotic animals, but for RM 2 we are not complaining. My kids totally enjoy the visit. Parking is free too, just park along the roadside. Love this place.
MoreJohor zoo is a place to bring you kids in an outing place and learning about animal at the same time. Their location is in thr heart of johor city center and quite big. They have many kinds of animal. Not that big like in Singapore Zoo, but its worth it. To get inside, for adults is 2 rm and kids 1 rm. Its free for baby and below 2 years. You and your kids could also give food to some animals like camel, elephant, horse and duck or paddling boat with bird. I am happy to bring my little baby here.
MoreSo much fun for rm2! Got my picture with a parrot for rm5. So many animals to see! Though the other reviewers are right, they do seem quite miserable. It was raining when we went, so we sat near the elephants and watched them. ^^ definitely worth the asking price.
MoreFor 2rm entry price. I have nothing to complain about. Good variety of animals. They feed live chicken to the pythons, pretty disturbing. But overall not bad of a zoo.
MoreI love to discover zoo in johor. The place isnt big but so tidy. Enjoy my time here... I can see some animal and getting fun. The price ticket isnt expensive only 2rm
MoreMy kids love this place so much...this is the oldest zoo in Johor.. though it look small and somewhere in town, but there are lots of animals you can check out here...There are small stalls so dont worry in case you get hungry or thisty..Most important the entrance fees is unexpected RM2.00 (adultand RM 1.00 (children)..amazing isnt..
MoreA clean and tidy mini Zoo with famous animals like lion, tiger, elephant, sun bear, hippo, peakcock, dears, birds and reptile. RM1.00 per person super worth entrance fees. Good, healthy and educating place to bring your children.
MoreCan take 7B towards Kulai from under the jb sentral train station, just when u pass customs, on the ground floor. It is only 1RM per person and less than 10 mins ride on the bus. He will stop you on the main road, and you need to cross the road to that entrance. The zoo has more animls than I expected so I was pleasantly surprised, and you can get close to animals which I didnt expect. Because its so cheap, dont expect the zoo to be spotless. The animals seem fine and healthy and I think thats what matters. Didnt expect to see an animal I havent seen in my life, but I saw a cassawary which I havent seen in many of the other zoos I have visited. Good for families with some playground and place for picnic. Food is not expensive but basic. Not recommended for tourist if you have a very "clean" stomach. Please remember not to feed your own food to the animals although it is very tempting. The zoo keepers are friendly and allowed kids to feed some fishes to some of the animals. The kids loved it.Not crowded on a weekday, not sure about weekends.
MoreEntrance fee is only rm2. Theres a lots of animals, u can feed the camel, elephant. The kids really love it. Theres also water cycle boat at the pond. Food stalls with variety of foods. They provide many wooden gazebos for us to sit and rest. Worth to come.
MoreIts a pretty okay zoo. Despite all the no littering signs, people still litter. The place seems dirty, especially the walls. Maybe a new coat of paint would do. Overall quite cheap and has decent range of animals. 2rm for adult tickets.
MoreZoo is well kept and clean. The animals looked well taken care off. Food to be fed to the animals are sold at reasonable prices. The staff are courteous and efficient. Great experience + great family outing location.
MoreThis is a small zoo created by the second Sultan, Sultan Ibrahim. Once a great hunter. Animals shot but not killed are put into his private zoo. That why this zoo is in the Grand Palace grounds. It was later given to JB authorities to run it by third Sultan, Sultan Ismail. The local council then build huge concrete enclosures to house the lions, tigers and bears. Those big jail like cages with heavy iron bars are original.Animal rights group never take kindly to this kind of animal display. Now some action has been taken to put the animals in a more humane environment. The front row of cages are replaced by big cages with large glass panels. They have not done the rest yet. Entrance at RM2 adult. RM1 for a child. It will take forever to have enough funds to revamp the place. Not forgetting staff salaries and animal food. They have made some rentals from food stalls, boat rides, horse rides, play area and photo sessions with python and macaw. They should slowly increase entrance fees to cover expenses.
MoreFor an admissions charge that cost less than a can of coke (RM2, S$0.70, US$O.50, ¥50), this zoo, while nowhere near the level of the outstanding Singapore Zoo, exceeds expectations! The general structure might be old, but its relatively well-maintained and generally clean. Facilities are ample. Refreshments are fairly priced. The variety of animals is decent considering the whole area is actually quite small. Lions, elephants, tigers, crocodiles, ostriches, bears, snakes... Oh my!My only problem lies with the few visitors who have no idea how to behave in a civil society, i.e. littering, being obnoxious or having ridiculous expectations... Annoying traits that can be found anywhere else, not just in this zoo.
