Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park - Park and Garden in Iwo, Nigeria
Went to the park a few day ago to meet up with some friends. Had a bit of an issue locating the areas as major stops were about ten minutes walk away. Thank to Maps for good directions. The park itself is quite large and wellmaintaned, and surprisingly FREE on entry. It was quite busy for a Sunday as people went there to have get togethers and other small group events. There was a dedicated play area so kids would definitely not be bored. The snacks area was the only area to sit but of course required that you buy something. The other pagodas seemed to be only for those who rent it.There are trees for shades and large mats which one can rent. I think one goes for #500 or so.It is a nice place overall. Would def. recommend.
Its nice place to relax and catch fun with family
Very cool and nice place to relax, take pictures, and having meetings
Great place to relax and have fun with family, friends even significant other
JJT Park has a picturesque view although it’s not a cool spot for a quiet picnic as it is almost always crowded and noisy.
Enjoyed the atmosphere. The last time I visited was 5 years ago. Coming back today, it still still maintained and kept to its beauty.I would recommend adult games are added to the park. It will spice up the fun for adults and people would want to come and play around.Would visit again soon and hopefully have more fun than this.
This park is mostly underrated. It is very big and there were many clusters of people doing their thing without disturbing the other. I totally loved it and theres security too. You pay 1k if you want to rent a mat. Entry is free for a group of 10 people, upwards and you have to pay. They have a food court for food, snacks, ice-cream, drinks, cotton candy etc. And the restroom is neat too. It is a very chill and serene environment. They close at 6pm.
I thought youd pay for gate fee, surprised its free. It was crowded, fun. I had a good time relaxed watching people cut cakes, dance, gist, children playing at the park, running around. Felt good. The place is big, I totally loved it and theres security too, the restaurant section where they sell food, popcorn, ice-cream, drinks, cotton candy etc. And the restroom is actually neat too. There are parrots and turkey for a side attraction. Kudos to them. Went again around last week in August. An official who wore RRS bullet proof collected N500 for parking space. He made us to know that because we re parking by the covert opposite the government house. Did not know they do collect parking fee. Its okay for the officials to be well armed, I mean its the governors office.
Beautiful Park, Spacious, And Free entry
Great place to chill, relax and "re-energize".A family themed park in the centre of Ikeja for family and individuals around Magodo, Ikeja, Berger, Ketu, Maryland and environs. You are not allowed to come in with drinks in "glass bottles", but you can come in with drinks in plastic, pep bottle etc.
Its an absolutely beautiful and amazing park. Top notch security, great staff, clean bathrooms, cheap mats for rent (1k each and they are big enough for like 5+ people), well maintained grass and landscape. Very good place.
Its a serene environment. Everywhere was green. The ambience too, Gosh! I didnt want to leave. Its a wonderful venue for hangouts/picnics. And yea, entry is free
Totally amazing. You can go there for picnics with friends and family
Was at the pack for JCI Eko picnic, its surely a nice place to hangout
The park has a really fascinating view with large span area of land having very green grass. I love love the greens, its so naturful! ( haha, if theres a word as such- anyways, I coined this.Has lots of kids-friendly activities and well maintained toilets and space as well. It is free-entry for every one (except otherwise). It has sheds located at random places for indoor settings or group events. Mats are available for rent and bringing snacks, food or drinks is allowed. Theres a tuck shop where different edible items are sold as well in case you couldnt bring any. As much as its children-friendly, its adults-friendly as well. Youll be amazed at how much information on African nations are there. In all, the park has a very beautiful scenery for relaxing. (Extra: was so relaxed that I started dozing amidst the childrens chatter and noise).
Good spot to hold a picnic. No alcohol allowed if you drink, and there are very few waste bins placed around so youll have to walk around a bit to find them. Not a lot of seating available asides from the ones under the huts. I couldnt find the parking lot for this park, so I ended up parking at Ndubuisi Kanu Parks lot on the other side of the road. Its quite a distance just to make a U turn. Its bearable though. You can get some great pictures here as well.
It was my first time there today and I must say,For a place that provides free entry, it is AMAZING!! It is very large, spacious and is great for family outings or even a hangout with friends. Or even a picnic date! It even has a kids area and playground, very nice for children. I went with friends and I didnt want to leave. I highly recommend!
A recreational center with lots of exciting views. The atmosphere is very cool and beautiful.I recommend JJT Park for hangouts, picnics, meeting, Birthday and excursion for children. The entrance fee is 500 naira, but belive me its worth more than the amount.
Its a good location to relax, study and have fun. There is quite number of fun filled equipments, like the play ground for kids, Chess game and good amount of huts that you can relax in and charge or plug your laptops and phones.Closing time is 6pm daily. It is always crowded by mostly weekends
It’s a beautiful and serene place to come relax with your loved ones. It’s open everyday of the week and doesn’t require an entrance fee
Been here a few times. Its usually quiet, except from the noise from cars on the roads.Things youll find at Johnson Jakande Tinubu (JJTPark:*Mini restaurant and snack place*Playground for kids*Grass for picnics*Mini huts scattered around with chairs and tables*Concrete benches*Restrooms are available. Children restrooms are separate.I personally didnt like the food (i bought jollofrice). I made sure to bring my own food along. One doesnt need to pay a fee for entry. However, if youre coming as a group, you *may* need to pay a token. Its a fairly neat and good place to chill out with your loved ones.
A cool place to relax and unwind with friends and family. Great for picnics, and hangouts. Its neat too. I didnt expect it to be free, so yeah, it was a little crowded. 5 star rating regardless. ✨
Gosh!!, My love for its serenity and mood.JJT park is like my best hiding place in Lagos.I love virtually every thing about it; the plants, nice walk-ways, historical statues, the country flags, the lawns, the sit-outs.Permit me to say, JJT is the best place for a perfect date💞.Hey guys, check that place out, you wont regret it, I promise.
Its a nice place,. The atmosphere is cool and these lots of fresh Air... Although you will need to purchase a mat to sit if youre not interested in their Hut.Plus youre not allowed to bring it food
It was great, I had fun with my kids. Tho we miss the water fountain
It was cool, calm, nice scenery, neat, etc. It is great for hangouts, get together, and even dates. There are toilets but I didnt get to use it so I cant say if its clean and useable or not. I gave it a 4 star because of the absence of parking spots. You literally have to park on the road.
The park is very big and quiet. It has a very nice ambience. It is a nice place to just go out with family and friends to relax. The best part about this place is how clean it was. Everything was prim and proper, even the lawn was properly mowed. The toilet; I have never seen a public toilet as clean as this one. The white was white, the mirrors were clean, the tap and other plumbing was working! I was highly impressed. The circle of flags and the different statues are also very nice to look at.
Quite an awesome experience at this place.. it was mad fun though we got here a bit late.. Free entrance and all... Beautiful sight to behold...
I had my dream wedding here last week.#arewrittenstory was a wonderful experience, thanks to your Park.Process to get the venue wasnt stressful, as the staff at LASPARK were quite efficient.
To visit JJT Park cost you no penny, as its free. But if you go as a professional photographer youll have to get ticket which cost ₦2,500.Also you can get food and drinks at a better prices.
A fun park for lovers of outdoor games and also lovers of serenity. It can be either, depending on when you go there or who go there with.We had a team bonding here and it was so fun. They dont allow bottled alcoholic drinks like vodka, so you have to navigate how to sneak that in if its need. 😬
Cool place to relax and have fun. It is very secure. It has nice scenery. Its located besides governors office. Its usually opens from 10am till 6pm every day. Its free also except youre going in as a group of 10 people (adultand above. It is managed Lagos State. The refreshments are relatively affordable and their staffs are nice and welcoming.A fun place to be.
It was an adventure at the JJT PARK an awesome experience u wont want to miss out
Actually one of the best parks I’ve ever been❤️ They have all the fun stuffs! You could come here for your baby shower,pre-wedding shoot, birthday shoot and lots more!
Lovely environment for fun hangouts and picnicsTo make it lovely, you have to go along with your games items and stuff, this way you get the full package. However, no bottles or ceramic allowed, no umbrella allowed as well; plus you could go with your mat or rent one
Ive always driven past this location for years, but never entered until last weekend. Its a very big park suitable for picnics, social meetings, mini parties, etc. There are 3 Big tents and 3 small tents that can be used as shelter. You can carry your own foods and drinks; but if you dont have, theres a restaurant in the park where you can quench your hunger/thirst.The park has statues of past governors of Lagos. It also has flags of all African countries. Each flag has a name plate shows information about the Capital of the country, the call code, the currency, and the independence date.
Serene environment if youre looking for a place to just cool off the stress of the city. Also a nice place to have a picnic. Im not really impressed with the maintenance of the lawn tho, but cause Ive not visited a lot of parks around, dont know how to correctly rate that. I may come back to edit this review.
Visited this park for the umpteenth time & as always, my experiences have been pleasant.Located in same axis as Ndubuisi park, somewhere around Mobolaji Johnson Ave, ikeja, JJT park is where you come to with your loved ones for some outdoor quality time. It’s free entry for all but group events/picnics need to pay the sum of 15,000naira( when paid in the bank& 20k (if you pay on a weekend)The fact that you’re permitted to bring in your refreshments make it Ideal for picnics & get togethers. (There are several shops in there to get refreshments incase you’re not one to bring food from home!)Mats are rented for 1,000naira & there’s no time limit to how long you can stay there! There are playgrounds (for children), a bird cage (for bird watching), a big chess board( for group games), & lots of picturesque locations.Incase you can’t find this address on google, use Ndubuisi park as your address. They’re literally close to one another.
Nice park. Harassed by police outside the gate and had to bribe them. 😒 It was peaceful once we got in tho.
I love the serenity and outview especially on weekdays...it can be so crowded on weekends (maybe not all)...the flags arrangements are dope.. can be used for outdoor shoots on a low budget.
Its a lovely place to be. Cool to hang out with friends, have family picnic, take pictures and small treats. Youd love it! +Entry is free!
Located beside Lagos State House of Assembly, JJT Park is a nice and peaceful environment where you can have hangouts, get together, group meetings or even personal work. Its safe to bring kids and theres a playground where they can have fun
As always Id start with parking. Its free if you arrive on time but if you have to park inside its "N500". If you park at the park 🤭 nearby then its N200 + a long walk. Suffice to say, parking wasnt in the plans. The use of a nose mask is enforced.Entry is free however no glassware is allowed into the park. Its logical for the environment. Parks should be secure and safe. The Eyo bridge is one of the first artifacts you notice. Its interesting and follows the Lagos theme the park has. However some of the slats are broken so youd likely not want to walk through. As a safety precaution, there should be caution tape around it. There is also an artifact featuring the faces of the 3 individuals whom the park is named after. It is surrounded by African flags however the flags werent flying when I visited. There is a fountain as well but it wasnt on.Other areas include a mini zoo with parrots, playground for kids, cabanas with chairs, 3 toilets and a place where you can buy food. There is free WiFi but I didnt try for it since its cos of privacy concerns seeing as its a public network. The toilets were okay, but could be cleaner. Id also like it if there were security patrols occasionally. The security go around shortly before 6pm to alert people its closing time understandably, however, it would be nice if it were well lit and secure enough to stay open longer. All in all a very nice place to relax, talk, meet, or even have a little party.
Johnson Jakande Tinubu park is a recreational park located in Alausa, Ikeja Lagos. I must say its very beautiful , spacious and also picturesque. It is suitable for a workspace as its peaceful and it has charging ports and gazebos all around. It is highly children friendly as there are playground suitable for them
Very nice, clean and conducive environment for children and adults to have fun. (Swings and others for kidsalso comes with free wifi, clean rest room, close 6pm... but not a enough parking space...
Very good place to be. Cool and calm environnement where you could relax, read, work on a project alone and also walk around with your "dulcinée" . Playing ground available for your kids. Its free entry gate fee and you can come along with your food or buy at a restaurant over there. Nice and neat rest restroom too. There is Bird cage with parrots and others...flags of different African countries and statues of Sirs JOHNSON, JAKANDE and TINUBU
Its a nice spot for group relaxation, family hangouts or team bonding. It has cool spots for kids with play zone, mini zoo, face painting, nice tents or hut like canopy with table and chairs for you to sit in and unwind. Entry is free, you can come in with your foods, drinks, music etc or you can also buy from the on prem restaurant (I can assua you its a one spot for all you can eat and drink 😁. The COVID-19 safety precautions were strictly adhered to at point of entry. The Eyo walk path and fountain has been bad for a while and needs to be urgently fixed.
Well situate in the central business district of Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. The environment is serene and easily accessible.Any gathering involving more than three person would need to be booked ahead with the admin. There is a strict adherence to covid-19 protocols at the gate; though, upon entry its a case of "vibes and inshallah".Overall, it is a good place for the family at no entry cost; it is advisable not to visit in the afternoons or on sunny days.
A delightful spot for group and family hangouts. It’s free to go in here and there’s a playground, a mini zoo and sand pit for children amongst other things. There are covered spaces with tables and chairs which accommodates people. Depending on the number of people on the park, you can have a space all to yourself and your people for your hangout. Bring your own food, drinks and music. There are toilets available in the park as well. Watch out for tiny insects that might be flying around.
The fun fact about this place is that its free and you can bring food and drinks in. However, parking spots are very limited. I think if youll be staying for a while youll just have to park at ICM, which is a few minutes away from the park. I had a picnic there, and I enjoyed myself. No disturbance from the security officials or touts. Its also a secured place.PS: be sure to go when the weather is cool. Or else? 😹
