President Kennedy exhibits, videos & research collections in a striking I.M. Pei-designed building.
One of the best I’ve seen. Best location. Love the view and lightings. We’ll put together. All short films and archives are well picked. You gotta enjoy the visit. Not crowded at all
Very inspirational place to visit! I went on a Tuesday morning and it wasn’t crowded at all. Lots of great exhibits and videos to see!
If you’re an architecture buff, you’ll love this. If you’re a history buff, you’ll love this. If you are a seascape buff, you’ll love this. There is something for everyone here. Absolutely fantastic! And see if your local library has discount passes (and join and support them!)…saved us a nice little bit.
The worst presidential library I’ve been to. Lacks any depth of information regarding his Presidential years in office. Additionally The theatre videos are all set to run on a schedule. If you miss it you miss it and oh well better luck next time. Seems poorly designed as nothing was highlighted besides the Cuban missile crisis.Pretty much all I got out of that visit was that Kennedy was charismatic.
I am a history junkie and I sincerely loved visiting this presidential library and museum. This presidential library and museum is full of interesting and cool artifacts and exhibits. I would go back in a heartbeat. If youre visiting Boston or Massachusetts recommend going here.
Amazing exhibits, very beautiful. The cafe didn’t have any vegan / plant based options, so my group went without lunch.Fantastic place for a JFK fan, but don’t plan on snacking or eating here if you’re plant based.
This place has plenty of information available, tours, a couple short films to watch about JFK, plenty of artifacts including a Jackie Kennedy dress and gifts from country leaders to the Kennedys. While the food place doesnt offer much and there isnt a lot of variety at the gift shop, it was still a great visit!
We had such a wonderful time exploring The Kennedy Library. We learned all about the history of former president Kennedy. Unfortunately I had to relive that brutal shooting of our president. I stayed home from school because my mom thought that we would learn more that next couple of days watching Television. What a great place very informing
JFKs Presidential Library and Museum offers insight into the man, his background, and his legacy. While his importance is certainly elevated, I was surprised to find the compelling, human portrait of a person doing his best.
Must see while here. Spent four Great hours with history. Beautiful grounds. Excellent exhibits. One negative: we went to the gift shop and did not find a single souvenir of the exhibits. So disappointing. We did not take very many pictures during our visit. So dont expect to purchase a picture book of your visit. Doesnt exist. So take your own pictures.
Wow! So much history in this place! Being born after his era, I never got to hear his voice. After listening to JFKs voice, he sounds so presidential and the speechs actually have some meaning. Presidents in the past actually had class.
The museums rich history, friendly staff, magnificent docents and beautiful setting makes this a must-see visit!!! Ill definitely return.
Wonderful museum with excellent footage and exhibits. Does a great job helping visitors learn about and get to know JFK, while treating his death with the utmost respect.
This was a worthy stop, for a very interesting President and historical figure. But I thought it was nowhere near as well done as other Presidential libraries I have seen.Lots of parking, and interesting location. That was good. And I definitely saw and read a fair amount that was of interest to me.But I expected a lot more for one of the most interesting people in our countrys history.Tons and tons of reading, could have been more that was interactive, multimedia, or video.
Pls dont throw your cigarette butts Outside, there are Wild Turkey and Others birds Outside,as you can See JFK liked birds very much too.Now there is a condolence book for her majesty the Queen, who also was a Lot concerned about Environment.R.I.P dear Queen!
Worth it!I spent here few hours, especially cool was a movie voiced by Kennedy.Cafe… I will not recommend it, grab your food and have lunch outside.
The museum is really nice. I enjoyed the focus not just on his presidency, but also on his life leading to that moment. It provides a lot of important context for his life. Some people might be disappointed as there isnt any focus on his various well documented human failings, the controversy regarding his military service, and there isnt very much focus on his tragic, violent demise. I wasnt disappointed in this. The man didnt even finish his first term, let alone live out a full life where he was able to reflect on these things himself. He had a privileged, sometimes challenging, but very promising life greatly impacted the country and was abruptly cut short by an assassin. I think this library museum conveys that feeling very well, and found the areas of focus quite appropriate.Make sure you take the time to go around to the back of the building to view the harbor. The view is beautiful. Also, the hours in the glass next to the door are a lie. They reflect an opening time of 9:00am, which is incorrect. Id arrived a little early for the online posted 10:00am opening, saw this 9:00am sign, and thought it was my lucky day. Nope. Dont get too excited if you follow in my footsteps. As was explained to me by a super friendly security guard, these original times are embedded within the multiple pane glass and were superseded during COVID.
Cool museum with films and artifacts but pricey for the amount of content they have.
Elegant and informative with a large number of videos to keep your interest. All in all, it took me 4 hours to see everything.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, for history buffs to come and see a glorious piece of American history.
Awesome President Library! A museum of his early life and presidency. I LEARNED SO MUCH!
Amazing to see the Kennedys little boat and think about the history behind it. With the boss in skyline in the background and the beautiful lines of these buildings, it is glorious to ride your bike along this trail.
EXCELLENT museum. Detailed exhibits and great storytelling - I really felt like I learned a tremendous amount about that era and JFK’s impact.
Seriously, it wasnt on my bucket list while in Boston. However a friend was all about going and asked if Id be interested. Im a big American history buff so agreed. WOW. I was pleasantly surprised. SO much information, and well displayed, described, etc... We spent longer than we had anticipated. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. If you love American history and are visiting Boston... THIS is a place to be sure to include on your trek.
I enjoyed this museum. I’m not big on visiting museums on vacation, but this was a great visit. Very informative about the life of JFK, the political climate and pop culture of the time.
Nice views of harbor. Very non distinct. Short on content. All of this info is readily available on Wikipedia. Also, what is the point in having a wall to celebrate Ernest Hemingway in the library? Not much to it for the price. Grouns were not open, bit its on the water and a nice view. Waste of time to see.
Gorgeous, well maintained, and informative experience! Would highly recommend to anyone interested in American history, or just as something to do for an afternoon.
As a student of history and politics, it was an enjoyable experience to visit the museum. The architecture of the building and the content within the walls are noteworthy.
Excellent customer service experience. We arrived later in the day after a long drive and almost missed a great experience. Thanks to Mike who helped us at the admissions desk we were able to view the exhibition. He took the time to point out the must see items so we would make the most of our visit. It is very well done and absolutely worth the trip.
JFK Presidential Museum is a must see! The museum is very well-organized and designed. It took around 2ish hours to visit the museum. It begins with a short video/overview of JFK and then leads to his 1960 campaign, his presidency, family, and impact, among many other things. It was very interesting to learn about JFK’s fundamental role in the peace corps, space corps, and disabilities advocacy. However, the museum does not have much on JFK’s assassination and perhaps creates an overly picturesque view on JFK. The museum pavilion includes beautiful waterfront views of Dorchester Bay with Boston city views in the background. Ticket prices varies from $10-18 with standard adult tickets at $18.
A truly remarkable museum experience. At first entrance, the architecture of the building is stunning. The attention to detail continues throughout the museum and through all of the exhibits and really takes you back in time. I almost didn’t make it here because it’s a bit out of the way from Boston proper, but it was well worth the trip. I could have spent all day in here.
This museum is incredible! Its beautifully designed and has great artifacts that tell the story of JFKs life. Michael Hancock at the admissions desk was incredibly helpful and really made our day with his friendly service.
Mediocre experience for the legend of JFK, to be honest. I was anticipating more than what was presented in the library. I’ve visited many Presidential libraries and this one was probably one I had looked forward to most, but unfortunately was underwhelming.
One of the coolest experiences of my life. The museum is an amazing place. They start you off with a video of JFKs life, and then it takes you through a chronological journey through his early years all the way to the presidency. There are a lot of historical artifacts from his life here, and a wonderful representation of what the oval office looked like when he was in office. You can feel his Spirit here, and I would highly recommend this to anyones bucket list.
Informative and in-depth exhibits about the life and history of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the Kennedy family, and the Kennedy Administration.Plenty of interesting and significant memorabilia and well-worth the trip. Some of the absolute best views of the Boston skyline to be found anywhere.
We came back to this point to have a glimple of JFK Presidentail Library. We were here last time when the library was was completed and dedicated in October 1979. President Carter and Senator Kennedy gave remarks. We were able to visit all exhibits and remember the times of Presindet Kennedy. We did not have time to visit it again but we will be back. Gardens and water views are great. Remember what JFK told about the sea: "We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back from whence we came." We always come back to the Sea. #AbuelosMochileros in Boston.
Extremely well done and well kept facility. This was my first visit and I was very impressed. Must visit for any presidential or history buff, or anyone visiting Boston essentially!
The library is open only on weekends for short hours. Beautifully designed JFK library is located right on the harbor and offers sweeping views.
Thoroughly enjoyable experience here! This is a wonderful museum and library. They do a fantastic job of depicting JFKs life and work. The architecture and landscaping are also really nice. If you walk out the back, you can walk around Boston harbour with great views of the city. The really enjoyed learning more about this great president.
Wonderful museum! Just went here yesterday with my Leadership club from my school. I love the exhibits and everything about JFK! It was my first time being here. I would definitely want to go again! The staff was super nice!
The architect, I.M.Pei designed a stunning building located overlooking Dorchester Bay. The grounds are astonishingly beautiful. The video presentations & film are extensive throughout the museum. Personally, I wished there was more about his love for the sea with establishing Cape Cod National Seashore. There is a beautiful painting by Jamie Wyeth of JFK sailing. The museum is beautiful and a great historical experience.
Fantastic museum about the life of JFK. Beautiful building and views of the water. Great movie on his life. So many exhibits about his life, family and presidency. Also the sad history of his assassination. I remember that day along with anyone alive that day. I am the exact same age as his daughter Caroline and watched their lives in the White House in the early 60s. Such a wonderful and sad legacy. The day we were there is when the young, beautiful Kennedy cousin Saoirse died. More tragedy for that family. Even the restroom was amazing. The sink had an automatic water, soap and hand dryer all in a row. Wonderful gift shop. A great museum.
The first museum and library Ive visited and this is definitely more museum than library. Interactive exhibits take you through his political life from being elected senator, DNC nomination and his presidential career. The exhibits are well thought out and interesting and spent a happy 3 hours walking round. If you visit and are politically minded then do visit the Edward Kennedy Senate experience next door, tell them you visited the JFK museum for discounted entry and learn more about the US Senate. Free parking.
We have been to every presidential library except two and this is at the top. The library tour flows through JFKs political career with a lot of family information. There is also a lot of film footage of key events. Kennedy taped the conversations that took place when determining how to handle the Cuban missile crisis. These conversations are overlaid with video footage. The building and grounds are worth the alone. If this review was helpful to you please give it a like.
The museum strikes first with the beauty of the building and its location at the waterfront! Inside, you’ll meet friendly staff and experience life and work of one of the greatest presidents of the Unites States. The tour starts with a movie and you’ll continue trough a dozen of galleries dedicated to different years and topics of JFK’s political career. All of those were well organized and interesting to read and look at. Anyone visiting Boston should dedicate 2-3 hours and visit this great venue!
What a striking and magnificent building! John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum is really one-of-a-kind! You will find yourself enthralled in the history of life, leadership and legacy of John F. Kennedy, the thirty-fifth President of the United States. So much respect and admiration for his dedication and enthusiasm for public service! Lots of fascinating and eye-catching exhibits including his family photographs and political memorabilia! Given its strategic location, you will also be able to enjoy the panoramic views of the Boston Harbor! In a nutshell, don’t ever leave Boston without checking out the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum!
Absolutely amazing museum that everyone in the Boston area should check out at least once. This place is filled with amazing details of JFKs life from the start to the end with all the context. The admission price is being reasonable especially considering the architecture is stunning. The 6 story all glass foyer is a sight to behold. Information wasnt overwhelming and the museum isnt so large as to take all day. The small videos playing at many artifact displays were concise and well made. They even participate in Bank of Americas Museums on Us program.
I went there for the building and the view. Admittedly the museum was compelling and the JFK story touching. Very interesting piece of history. The building and view is great too.
A must see if youre in the Boston area. The UMASS campus is under construction but google maps should still get you right to the parking lot. Its free to park and an adult ticket costs $14. There is a 20 minutes film right at the beginning which I would certainly take the time to watch before continuing through the rest of the museum...there are a lot of interesting clips shown! The museum has a ton of pictures and documents and really portrays the great legacy JFK left behind! Would certainly come back and visit again!
As a non-American, I did enjoy my visit there, and learning about the Kennedy mythology. Its a small trek from Boston CBD, but still easy enough. The buses from the T Station could do with coming more frequently (although thats not the museums fault). They had a cafe available there, which seemed to be very busy, but pricey.I did think that the museum price was slightly high for what it is. Knock a couple of dollars off, to the 10-12$ range and I think its fair. I went to the Bill Clinton Library, which was cheaper, had more exhibits, and located centrally.
