Joe’s Sandwich Bar - Sandwich shop in Sydney, Australia
Joe’s Sandwich Bar in Sydney
Description
Privilege
Limited but some really good options. Sandwiches have some good filings. Would definitely visit again. Great to see so many options for vegetarian sandwiches in the area. I dont think there are many shops like this one in the CBD. The bread certainly tastes different too. Not a lot of places to sit and eat just there. Overall definitely worth a visit.
MoreBest vegan sandwich in Sydney!! I got the Reuben sandwich which tasted really fresh on seriously yummy bread. Highly recommend and I am keen to go back.
MoreLove a place where you go to order one thing, and you get a recommendation to try something special instead.
MoreI go here with my non-meat-eating colleague and despite the fact that its vegan they manage to keep it tasty. I would say number 1 to their success is the bread - its iggys bread and reigns supreme. On top of that they get ahead of the lunch rush by assembling a lot of their menu beforehand so the sandwich is instantly given to you on order and if not they are quickly making the rest out the back - this smart way of handling the queue is much better than you get at Norths across the road which is an absurdly long wait in comparison. The menu itself is short but with enough variety of vegetable base types to keep you cycling through their menu on a regular basis - chilli broccolini, eggplant, potato, tempeh, pumpkin etc, all priced the same. My only wish is they dont call a tempeh reuben a reuben, because that troll item dissuaded me from coming here for many months, and when I tried it, it was as disappointing as it sounds when making any comparison to a reuben, it wouldve been adequate to just have it as a tempeh sauerkraut menu option since nothing about the tempeh emulates the corned beef experience.
MoreBest sandwich in Sydney , had Smokey potato sandwich once and chipotle pumpkin second time. I liked the Smokey potato one more though.
MoreIts a hidden gem on Kent st, the best sourdough and great, yummy vegetarian filling. Its very quick as they prepare sandwiches before hand.
MoreWhether you’re vegan or not, make it a point to grab a sandwich from Joe’s for lunch - you won’t regret it. Beautiful Iggy’s bread and wholesome veggies make for a drool-worthy sandwich.
MoreThe sandwiches are amazing and every time I get one, I want more!Come and try the food!
Moresmall vegetarian sandwich shopall products are 13 dollars
Delicious sandwiches, we got the reuben and B.L.A.T, both really yummy. Love the concept here, the sandwiches are ready to go so you can rock up and walk out with a tasty vegan sandwich in a few minutes. Will definitely be back!
MoreNot a vegan, was searching for lunch and found this little amazing place (some chaps were eating a mouthwatering food so I had to get in and ask for the same). Whether you are a vegan or not you wont be disappointed. Sandwiches are delicious, place is cosy and clean, staff is helpful and nice. Added benefit - I felt full almost until late evening, very filling and satisfying food.I look forward going to the office more often now.
MoreTheres a worm on my sandwichVery disappointedShows poor hygiene. Not going to buy here again :(
MoreThese guys? Such a legends. Soft and crispy sandwiches full of surprising flavoures. 💓Very friendly, straight forward guys who feed me every Wednesday and I dont think I will ever get bored by their stuff.Thank youu and special thanks to long hair tattooed guy 🤙😀
MoreWow. Vegan things are not usually something I even consider, but I was blown away by the Smoked Potato sandwich. Best sandwich I’ve had in a long long time. Will be back
MoreI ordered the Pumpkin Chipotle Sandwich. It was fantastic! Super flavourful and tasty. Every bite was perfect. The bread they used was great too! Super soft, fluffy and simply delicious. I also bought their cookie. Absolutely divine. The customer service was awesome as well. Very lovely gentlemen. I’m definitely coming back
MoreHands down the best sandwiches. Full of flavour, Iggys bread, efficient service, couldnt ask for anything more.
MoreDont know who served me today but he gave me a free sandwich after I wasnt sure which one to get. It was the chilli broccolini and it was absolutely fantastic. Thanks mate. Ill return.
MoreIts the amazing, fresh, perfectly textured bread that makes this place - but I also love the creative vegetarian fillings. Pull up a milk crate and have one of the best sandwiches youll ever have. Joes is one delicious reason to make the journey into the office during the week.
MoreAmazing sandwiches, so good that I never ever would normally order a sandwich, joe’s is the exception of course! Highly recommend because of their thoughtful and considered fillings as well as ziggys bread!
MoreI have been obsessed with this place for at least a year now, the BLAT is unrivalled. I moved away from Sydney unfortunately, but the one of the first things Im gonna do on my first return visit is go here!! Please can you open a shop in Coolangatta, thank you!
MoreCool simple sandwich bar, with delicious bread and vegan ingredients. Had the Reuben with tempeh and pickles on sourdough for $12.50. Good portion size , plenty of areas to sit inside or outside on the street ( and also a large public area just opposite). Service is really fast and good. About 6 options available of sandwich or a bagel. A special was available as well. They sell cookies as well although these seemed a bit overpiriced at $5. Can see the kitchen working away behind the counter. They take card. Will be going back for sure
MoreTried the Miso Eggplant sandwich. For $12.5,the meal is large enough to fill an appetite ; however all I tasted was mayo -couldnt taste the Miso or the Eggplant. The reason seems to be that you would expect to have large cuts/slathers of the primary ingredients, but instead its a diced up mix of eggplant (subtle), red onion (overtaking), corn and other veggies.Disappointed with the meal.
MoreOh and theyre vegan. Best sandwich in th city. Hands down.
Quick, delicious and friendly! Love this place from the yummy bread to the cute atmosphere.
MoreAmazing vegan sandwich-bar! If I‘d live in Sydney CBD, I would be there everyday!
MoreThis is my favourite lunch spot in the city! Could not recommend it more. The guys are so fun, the sandwiches are big and made with fresh produce and Iggys bread. Would recommend getting a biscuit too!
MoreFriendly service and a laid-back vibe. Great selection of unorthodox sodas and kombuchas. Sandwich was tasty - crusty sourdough-type bread with the Tempeh Reuben, generous with the mustard. Could have been more generous with the tempeh layering and slaw filler.
MoreGreat sandwiches, you dont have to be a vegetarian to like their creations. Cookies are amazing as well. Miso Eggplant is my go to!
MoreI love this place! Fantastic, tasty vegan sandwiches and great atmosphere in this tiny sandwich bar! Staff are always friendly and there is a special sandwich each week aside from the standard menu. The bread is so yummy and I also really love their Lox Bagel! The choc chip cookie is amazing, too! It is a regular lunch place for me.
MoreNever had a bad sandwich here. Love the choclate chop cookies. Always try the special if they have one on. Also the pickles are perfect.
MoreWow! Shop is warm and inviting with super awesome, enthusiastic and friendly staff, and the experience was almost as remarkable as the sandwiches themselves. The Ruban was one of the best Ive ever had. Keep up the fantastic work!!
MoreAmazing sandwiches. Bread is fantastic and soft. There’s always a queue for a reason.
MoreThe best Vegan sandwiches. I love them all. Germans love chewy crust. Nice moist bread. Fluffy berry cookies. Great music. I love they serve you in 20 seconds. Im hooked.
MoreLoved it! Sandwich was delicious and staff was so friendly.
Didnt know vegan sandwiches could be so tasty until I tried out this place. So good!
MoreAn interesting sandwich place with a special take. Wandered into the place with no expectations and missed the menu completely. I rushed on choosing the order. The sandwich itself is alright, a little on the sour side.
MoreNice Vegan sandwiches. A bit pricey but they are quite big (and good). Originally had the pumpkin, and wasnt a huge fan. I went back though, and the miso eggplant is very good. The bread is quite thick, and as some have noted can be a bit chewy. I went back to the office and added some ham as well.
MoreI worked in the area for a few months and got lunch here literally every day. All the sandwiches on the menu are amazing (and vegan). The pumpkin is my favourite, but the miso and potatoe arent far behind. They usually have a special too. Its tiny, so a bit hard to find. You can sit inside, outside or Id sometimes walk 5 mins to Darling Harbour and eat by the water.
MoreTo be fair Im not Vegan. I do love my salads and vegetables though. So perhaps for pure Vegans this might be 5/5? Every one raves about the bread in the reviews and I have to admit, the bread in itself is quite nice to chew. But for a big sandwich this quickly tired the jaw. I had the Miso Eggplant.
MoreBest sandwiches in Sydney. And I’m not even vegan. Bread is amazing as are the fillings. I’m working my way through the menu. The chocolate chip cookies are also awesome.
MoreSooo good!! Walked in and the guy came straight up to serve me and told me to try their most popular Reuben sandwich. Delicious! Bread was so fresh too!! Will be back again! ...didnt get a pic (I demolished it! )
MoreSome of the best sandwiches Sydney has to offer with super fast friendly service!
MoreTried Joes for the first time yesterday after reading the excellent reviews. After studying the menu for quite some time I went with the Miso Eggplant which did not disappoint! The soft flavoursome eggplant was perfectly balanced against the crispy cabbage & carrot plus anything that has avo Im always drawn to. I also have to give good mention to that bread, its the sourdough you dream of! I also noticed they sold T-shirts and told myself if the Sandwich is good Ill be back to purchase the T-shirt and another sandwich of course. Thank you Joes Sandwich bar for making my lunch break amazing!
MorePhenomenal sandwiches! This tiny shop has a handful of veggie options, all made with super fresh ingredients. Honestly one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had!
MoreHad the miso eggplant sandwich; firstly the sandwich was ready made which was a disappointment, i really would of appreciated a freshly made one. Secondly, the miso in the sandwich was too much and by the end of it i just wanted to throw it away, really disappointing because all the other flavours were great but just overpowered by that strong miso flavour.Might come back to try a different sandwich because i have heard so many good things about Joes Sandwich bar, but my experience today was a big let down.
MoreQuick and easy place to grab an awesome vegan sandwich (Id recommend the BLAT or the Potato, both are amazingin your lunch break if you work anywhere near here. Not a lot of seats outside and atm (Mar 2017lots of construction. Smells awesome, and if they have any left, grab a chocolate chip cookie. Better than my mums, but dont tell her that.
MoreFantastic experience all round! Perfect sized menu, friendly service, cute city hole-in-the-wall experience and deliciously fresh bread and ingredients - SO CLEAN & HEALTHY! I had the BLAT...
MoreHoly delicious! What a great sandwich! Located in a sneaky nook near Wynyard. I had the Reuben - which was incredible! Ill definitely be back to try the rest. Heart eyes x infinity.Shame they arent open weekends so I an take my vegan friends who arent in the CBD here.
MoreTheir BLT is really good and the service is very friendly.ON the down side, Ive tried their eggplant sandwich and found its deliciousness a bit ruined by the mayo (but if you love mayo its definitely the place to go!)They have limited sitting options so its more of a take-away and go eat in the park kind of place.Good vegan place, well located!
MoreGreat sandwiches!! Couldnt resist a bit of fresh sourdough layered in Pics Peanut butter too! Delicious. A regular visit for lunch.
