Absolutely delicious fish and chips made with rock bottom fish. Rare. Service was good as were the prices.

Very pleasant waitress, way better fresh and hot than with delivery. Excellent value.

Huge rave to the amazing staff at this restaurant. Theyre all so personally friendly, and not to mention the menu has some of the only food my diet can really have. Major appreciation to all that work there. Thanks for making the experience all worth while.

Wanted to try this place for a while, when we first walked in didnt seem like much. But the place was extremely clean, the service was incredible, and the food was homemade and delicious. Weve had their bacon cheddar burger twice and we travel roughly 50 km just to get one. Its worth it

Stopped in for lunch. Not sure if it was the type of fish I chose this time but Ive had better experiences with take-out food from this place before. No seasoning on the fish or chips (guess its to allow you to add your own - of which a variety of salt, pepper, vinegar and ketchup is provided). Excellent popcorn shrimp.

This place is a town favorite. The menu has something for everyone, but I come for the fish and chips. Very clean restaurant and good service keeps me coming back. Plenty of parking even if you have a larger vehicle.

This experience was worth 5 stars. On time. Great service and the fish and chips and coleslaw were great. My only thing I didnt like was their tartar sauce. If they were closer, Id go more often.

Heather, the server, was just so lovely! They were happy to adapt their menu to gluten-free so I could enjoy the delicious wild salmon! Good portions, fresh ingredients, and yummy housemade tartar sauce too!

Well the first thing to hit you when you walk in, is the smell of old oil.Our waitress was lovely she was attentive and she knew her products. the fish was OK . I had the halibut which is a little expensive.chips are soggy.I would have given a better review but the smell is just too overbearing.

If you want an amazing taste in your mouth followed by a full stomach this is the place to be, I absolutely love joe Klassen’s. The servers are so amazing and sweet and the food is to die for, we had just got off the plane and discovered this place, it was a sure awesome way to start off the vacation!!

Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did.Server was very friendly, knew from the BF being English to offer an order of Mushy Peas, which came served with mint sauce...only place hes had it served this way in all his time in Canada.Food was fresh and tasty and good size portions.We will definitely be back!

Had a GC from deployment dinner through the MFRC. We ordered 2 2 piece halibut meals and a poutine. The halibut pieces were huge and the batter is light and crunchy...im not even a big fish and chips guy, but their batter was fantastic. Poutine came with curds and piping hot homemade gravy on the side so I could add to cheese curds at home, I thought that was brilliant! The staff was friendly both on the phone when I ordered and when I picked up! Will definitely go back!

Worst dining out experience in decades, shocking considering the number of great online reviews and this place came highly recommended by a local for fish n chips. 1. Fish was thin and bland, chips were soggy, not a lemon wedge in sight to add any zest. 2. Out of oysters even though it was the beginning of dinner shift. 3. Seafood chowder was salty, brown potato puree with no recognizable seafood chunks, although there were chunks of something (still not sure what). We sent back the chowder after a couple of mouthfuls; a lady we assume to be the manager came to speak to us and we were honest about the food. No apology, and we were largely ignored for the rest of the night until they came by to ask if we wanted dessert...? Of course, no. Unbelievably, they still charged for the chowder, which we objected to. Again, no apology, but the same lady did take off the chowder from the final bill, but insisted on standing over us as we sorted exact cash payment - we didnt trust a credit card payment, no tip. Bizarre and poor service, terrible food, why would you come here?

The service was excellent. The fish delicious and the apple crumble I had no room for was worth making room for.

The staff are absolutely fantastic. Went in twice in the last few weeks. Theyve got their specials on every day, and both times I went for the all-you-can-eat fish and chips. Great value! I highly recommend stopping in for some delicious seafood.

They will just keep bringing you fish. Super friendly, awesome people. Just let them know a couple minutes before you want more fish and theyll have it ready for you. When they say all you can eat fish and chips, they mean theyll keep bringing you fish until youre a sphere if thats what it takes. 10/10 🐟 🐠 🐡 🦦

Never order to go I guess, the batter was on so lightly, the fries tasted old, the little bit of batter on it was stuck on the paper., and not a good meal. I usually always go in but couldnt tonight, it was very disappointing. Wont go back

Best fish and chips Ive found so far. If your family is craving fish/chips, i suggest trying a family or super family pack. Good deal and great tasting fish. Friendly waitresses is a great bonus.

The Restaurant has great food at a very affordable price. Good fish and also other option for those who do not enjoy seafood. The cozy flair and seating at the window is very nice. The kitchen staff was very accommodating to our wishes. Special thanks for the great service goes to Heather. She was so nice and met our every need. All in all a great experience and you should definitely check it out when your in the area!

Been going here for years. The main item is of course the fish and it is world class whether halibut, cod, or haddock. It is nicely portioned and delicately battered, the standard reaches gourmet quality.

Very fast and friendly service with great food for a great price.The cod and chips was one of the best Ive had. Quality, fresh, moist and flaky fish, in a tasty light batter that wasnt greasy.Ashlee was super nice, attentive and efficient. Will return, and I highly recommend this place.

I thankfully waited until I got home to vomit! We advised the waitress that we were not happy with the meal, nothing was done about it though.When outside the restaurant we chatted with another couple and they advised us that the All you can eat cod” was actually pollock! Our friends had Halibut and it was the thinnest piece of Halibut we have ever seen….so was it actually Halibut???Needless to say, we will not be back!

Food was good, and the server was friendly, but service was slow on our visit. Three of us had all-you-can-eat fish and chips, and two of the children had kids meals. We were all served our first plate when our tables order was up, and then us three all-you-can-eaters sat with our plates empty waiting for more fish and fries for twenty minutes or more until we saw our server next. Quite disappointed.

I had the 2 piece Pacific cod n chips, really liked the light crispy batter. Fish was great, chips seemed hand cut. Not at all greasy just darn good. Dad had the seafood plate and liked everything. Glass of nice wine, $62 tip included. Friendly staff, fast service. Whats not to like??

Their fish is soo flaky & fresh. The fish was lightly covered in batter, not so thick, you have to go digging for it. (I’ve been to restaurants where the dish was 80% batter, 20% fish.Emily, our waitress, is basically my new BFF. She was so kind, down to earth and awesome at her job. I could hear other tables laughing and enjoying her company. I felt like I’ve known her my whole life and was just visiting her, while eating delicious food. Thank you for such a great meal, at the end of our vacation. We will be back!!

I ordered the fish and chips for 2 twice from them (through the doordash app), super friendly staff, food was always amazing, and they customized my order exactly the way we had requested. Highly recommend them. I will be back. <3

No stars!!!!! {{ Case of food poisoning }}Went here a few weeks back....My order of gravy had a long hair in it.Fries were mush.Fish was cold/raw.I watched the closing server put hot soup in a fridge AND my server appeared to be on some sort of drugs and kept sniffing, repeating themselves and talking nonsense, I couldn’t understand.Check your bill, I was charged for an additional meal and a beer I didn’t order.Horrid experience and lowest quality food ever!!!!

4 stars because dont claim to be a "fish and chip" shop, otherwise less stars. Fish is top notch, world class. Fries are lackluster and unfulfilling. There is nothing wrong with them, other than the fact that there is nothing right with them. My guess is there isnt the fryer capacity to make real french fries that compliment the fish like a real fish and chip shop.

We ordered fish & chips on the take out menu for lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised when we opened the bag to find a large box of fries, two huge pieces of lightly battered & very crispy rock cod, and a nice portion of coleslaw & tartar sauce. For a total price of $14.70, it was one of the yummiest & most reasonably priced lunches weve had in a long time. More than enough for the both of us. And it was ready in 10 minutes. First time there, but will definitely be returning.

Great food and incredible value. We (2 of usgot the super family pack (or similar nameof fish and chips. The fish was delicious, fries tasty, and coleslaw and tartar sauce also good. We got 3 full fish and chips meals out of it (insane!plus another meal on day 4 which was fish tacos, to which we added some other ingredients. and I eat a lot! the value was incredible at $33. I think it was $6 or $8 off, cant remember which, but even at full price its a great deal. We will definitely be back

Very good price for all you can eat fishes (rock fish).My favorite part is the lightly battered fish. This would not leave you all stuffed with too much carbs. You also can enjoy different choices of halibut or rod by order. Everyday special can be switched around for any day of the week. Great experiences for fish lovers.

Visiting Courtenay for a family event last week, we wanted to try a local place, not only for hopefully something different and local (we were craving fish & chips/seafoodthan the chain restaurants but also to provide some much needed revenue to a local business during these difficult Covid times. My wife and mother in law had the fish and chips and the portions were large, fries were good, the fish was excellent with a nice and light homemade appearing coating (not the overly deep fried all batter-no fish style you sometimes receiveand very tasty even though we didnt splurge for the Halibut. I had fish tacos which came with 3 tacos, and the same fish, very well done with coleslaw and a nicely seasoned sauce. I decided to also try the seafood chowder as well and though I prefer a slightly thinner sauce the flavour was great and full of ocean deliciousness. Prices were very reasonable compared to the Mainland, service was prompt and courteous and the place was neat and clean. Definitely glad we took a chance and would certainly be back!

We had the halibut and it was excellent! The fries were also really good! And the tartar sauce was also great. Unfortunately the coleslaw was absolutely terrible. The cabbage was floating in a fish of watery mayonnaise....the food we had was awesome so I really hope they fix the slaw

Great fish and chips never greasy. I recommend the cod. Fast and friendly service and its always busy at dinner time. Get the coconut cream pie when it is available.
