Jitters Cafe Inc - Coffee shop in Oak Grove, United States
awesome coffee and food shop! Had a Latte and Italian sandwich! Excellent! Highly recommend. Back again and again! Tried the Mexican toast thing. Forget actual name. Very good! And had a Cappuccino! Great place!
The service was okay but my order was wrong. I ordered a tuna melt but got a tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomato, bacon and pickles.....
It does the truck for a decent cup of Joe. Indoor outdoor seating.
45+ minutes for a coffee and breakfast Sandwhich. They messed up the order 3 times. Place is a joke
I’d come here a lot more if the coffee was better. For a place called Jitters, the drip and iced coffee should be solid.
Just wanted tea and a sandwich waited at the counter 15 minutes was ignored by the 3 people behind the counter. Had to go someplace else for food. Food looked good. Would have been nice to be able to sample even a cookie. Update just to clarify. On the day I was in the cafe there were 3 customers. The staff was talking not working. Maybe it had been busy earlier at the time I was in it was not.
TLDR: Nice local business staffed by young kids, poor customer service skills and incredibly slow speed. Avoid unless you have 90 mins to burn.Ordered an iced coffee and an avocado toast. Toast took longer than 30 mins, I had no more time to wait. When asking for an update on it, a very shy highschool student whispered something under their breath about the sandwich guy being backed up.If the student did not seem on the verge of no longer functioning I would have played with asking for either a refund or equivalently priced items to go.Instead I felt in my situation of needing to be gone in the next 2 minutes, for a total time of 32 minutes in the store, that I needed to just “eat” (hahathe loss.Advice: Extensive training in fundamentals of customer service for your younger staff, reorder and clarify your menu (tv text incredibly small), get food prep line in order to match service to your fast casual cafe niche. 30 minutes is an upper bound for full service restaurants, and not at all a good speed for a cafe.
Absolutely delightfulMake your own breakfast sandwichThe best ever!!!
Two outdoor cafe tables, luckily one was free for us. Grilled sandwiches very nice, cant recommend the beverages.
Delicious breakfast sandwich’s , I had the chicken pesto panini and it was supreme 😋😋😋
My favorite cafe in Melrose! Delicious breakfast and lunch menu, friendly staff, and lots of comfortable seating.Last time I came in I got their breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese and it was incredible. If you like coffee, they have a great selection of lattes, cappuccinos, etc. This place really reminds me of home and I can’t wait for our next visit!!
By far my favorite local coffee shop! Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible, highly recommend checking this place out!
Great shop! They make a great latte and are always happy to see you and take pride in making awesome drinks!
I love jitters! You can tell Tim takes pride in his café!Id also love to see all the people who wrote 1 star reviews work in a coffee shop for one morning. Even on their hardest mornings the staff is always hustling.
Delicious coffee, the scones were light and flavorful. Lovely croissants in the sandwiches. Would go again.
Largest selection of specialty lattes Ive seen... I got the Irish Jig. 👍👍
Every time I try this place it’s never better.Customer service is not that professional, walks off or doesn’t tell you your order is ready or ignores you until they are ready to take your order.Coffee options: they don’t have a plain option usually so I asked today was surprised when they said yes, finally try it and it’s hazelnut.I tried to be a regular but I just don’t like the coffee it’s awful.
The staff are mainly students who could freshen up on their customer service. The service overall is slow. The cold brews were decently sized, priced and yummy. I wish pricing, flavors, and sizes for the coffee options were listed however.
Reviewed both Nerro and Jitters. Decided on Nerro cuz theyre "known." Counter service was awful, all 3 employees servicing one couple, not so much as a "well be right with you." So, I drove to Jitters and...glad I did! For under $10.00 got a breakfast sandwich, muffin and coffee in about 8 minutes. Def a young, attentive staff and they were on point this :am! You got a new customer! 5 stars when I hear some chill Jazz or mellow as opposed to TV sports.
Been here the third time. The young ladies were nice, but their mom or whoever I don’t know, their boss maybe, was rude, seems like she freaked out during rush. I’m working in service industry so I know how they should be polite and patient. Just getting a small coffee today, I didn’t even rush any of them, she still got me a wrong one, even her little girls said sorry to me. Her attitude did not.
You guys need adult supervision !! Or person who can actually guide these kids.. Chicken Salad sandwich 20 mins ? I leave say Ill be back in 2 hr.for it. Come back still not done. Had to wait again. 🙄
The staff is very nice and clearly enjoy their jobs. The coffee is delicious, the baked goods look good, however I have not yet tried it so all I can say is that it probably worth trying.
Slow service, orders are often incorrect, and most recently, they upcharged me with add ons which I specifically asked not to include. Used to go here daily because the cold brew is amazing, but I’ll be going to Caffe Nero and recommending others in Melrose do the same.
I ordered from this place for the first time today. Online ordering is super seamless. The staff is super friendly. However, my order was messed up so I had to go back. BUT the team did an amazing job making me a new breakfast sandwich quickly and it was EXCELLENT. The sriracha aioli is a must for sandwiches. 10/10 would recommend and I’ll go back again, adding it to the top of my breakfast spot list.
I cant believe that Ive never gotten around to reviewing this great Melrose spot.My coffee order isnt the most exciting. However, Jitters cold brew coffee always hits the spot. I can personally attest to the excellence of their breakfast sandwiches- on either a croissant or an English muffin.
Great local coffee shop. Breakfast sandwiches are pretty good, coffee is tasty and friendly staff. My only comment is the music - Smashmouth at 9:30am on a Sunday is a bit severe. Some background "cafe-chill" music would be welcomed!
This place is a breakfast spot that serves coffee and snacks. Its located in main street Melrose. Very suitable when you want to get a quick bite . Its usually busy in the mornings due to its popularity. Theres parking by the side of the restaurant and also on street adjacent to the restuarant. Sitting for up to twenty people.
Good local coffee shop with friendly staff but the service can be insanely slow. Cold brew is really good as are the breakfast sandwiches but it regularly takes 20-30 minutes to make one which I can’t understand. If this weren’t the case, it would be 5 stars for sure.
So they’re usually really good the food awesome so I ordered this sandwich today and I got my boyfriend a sandwich and he took a bite in a big chunk of plastic came out of the sandwichAs you can see in the first picture just be aware of what you guys make when u make it
A wonderful hidden gem tucked between Malden and Melrose. Best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in Boston and super affordable. Cold brew is super delicious and strong - so if you like your coffee with a kick this is where to go. Staff are super friendly and always helpful. I’ve come to work here a few times and it’s a great place to grab a bite and get out of the house.
I do not recommend visiting this coffee shop.I keep coming back to Jitters hoping for a better experience each time, but the service is continuously very slow and the coffee is subpar. I often receive watery or overly bitter drinks. Additionally, drink prices are not listed anywhere. The staff seem miserable most of the time, not a good vibe.
First time trying this place was yesterday, I ordered online, the food and cappuccino were good but I was not sent an alert when it was ready, I arrived 10 minutes early and my food and coffee were already sitting out on the tabl, had I waited until the time they said it would have been cold. Not a fan of the online ordering
I definitely want to like this place, its a small town cute little spot. That being said I havent had the best personal experience with their food here. The food definitely has good taste and I enjoy their coffee. But the first time i ordered their buffalo chicken panini I was half way through eating it when i realized there was tiny fibers stuck on to the panini. I went up and told staff and they did offer to give my money back or make me a new sandwich. I think they had been cleaning off the panini press with a cloth, and the fibers from the cloth were left behind and then pressed into my panini. The second time I ordered their chicken pesto sandwich and i find a small black hair on the sandwich. The most recent time i ordered Caesar salad I swear I found a similar black hair in the container of the salad. The amount of times I have found hair/fiber in my food from here really makes me not want to go back and try other foods they offer. To be completely honest, their Caesar salad really isnt worth ordering either. Its literally just a bunch of lettuce thrown into a container, a few croutons and a little bit of shredded cheese sprinkled in. I know its just Caesar salad so their isnt much to expect but there isnt anything special to it, its a bare minimum salad, you could probably just go to store and buy a better one pre-made for less money. And for the amount of salad they give you in the container, they only give you a tiny cup of dressing to put on it. It barely coats the salad, I was literally eating dry salad... which is borderline ridiculous to me if Im paying $7.50 for it. I shouldnt have to ask for extra dressing either when the tiny cup they give doesnt even cover it to begin with. To think you have to pay $3 extra dollars for chicken to be added, it isnt worth $10.50 just to get chicken added on top of this basic bare minimum salad, sorry. That would literally cost more money for a basic bare minimum salad with chicken than it does for a panini, which is their menu staple for lunch time. How does that literally make any sense?Again, the taste of their food is good (aside from the lame salad situation), but due to my repeated unfortunate experiences having food/fiber in my food I have to only give them 2 stars. That kind of thing really should not be happening.
This was my second time here, my first was over a year ago and I remembered the smoothie was great, so I decided why not the paninis. The woman at the counter helped me pick the Jitterbug over the Chicken Pesto, and I was not disappointed! It was DELICIOUS! I’ll be coming back soon! Great little shop.
Good sandwiches. Great breakfast sandwiches. Online ordering for pickup works well. Black coffee drinkers, the cold brew and nitro is a bit acidic for those that prefer a more balanced profile. Better than most other eatery-type cafes though.
The sandwiches are good but don’t go here during lunch hour if you are in a hurry. On separate occasions I’ve waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches. After getting home and looking at my to-go order, one of the sandwiches was completely wrong. It’s one thing to take forever making a sandwich, it’s another to get the wrong order at the end of the wait.
I walked in at 9:45am for their classic Jitterbug sandwich. I bought a hot latte and enjoyed that before they had a system failure that didn’t register my order while they were barely busy. For 30 minutes the cashier didn’t make the connection that I was looking back at the counter multiple times including walking up to the counter to check for my order, in which she then came out and admitted that the team never prepared my order and they are now making it.Their food and drinks are always great. Their work ethic and service was of the utmost slow and unattentive during my visit.
We’re not from this area but stopped in on a whim passing by. So glad we did!Cute little spot with plenty of seating. The coffee was great and I got a strawberry salad that was very good. My BF got a sandwich that he also liked. Prices were fair. The staff were friendly and fast!It looked like there’s a patio in front, too. Would come back to this place.
Nice coffee shop and enjoy the outdoor seating.I’ve done a bit of traveling and have tried all kinds of little coffee shops around Boston and the country, Jitters gets a 3/5 stars for me.Unfortunately the coffee was disappointing after trying it on several occasions. I like their menu options and the sandwiches/paninis are fresh, but the only thing worth ordering again is their avocado toast. Overall the food is OK.
Pretty good place. I couldnt decide between 4 and 5 stars. My only complaint was the cashier didnt seem like she wanted to be there at all. Maybe Im just complaining but it rubbed me wrong. My wife and I had great coffee and her avocado bread was awesome too. For all 3 it was like 16.50, so pretty normal cafe prices.
Awesome sandwiches and great service! Handled my party of 6 (including a picky 6 year oldwith ease and a smile. The coffee has been pretty good too! Its become a fast favorite for lunch!
This has become my go-to work-from-home spot. The staff is always friendly and the selection of baked good is AMAZING. Thankful to have a locally owned coffee shop so close to Oak Grove.
I love Jitters. Whenever I go to my veterinarians office, I stop in to get a coffee. Theyre wonderful people. They let me bring my cat in while I get my coffee. So she just sits there in the carrier and waits for me. Their coffee and sandwiches are excellent and the staff is wonderful. Thank you so much from Corin and Cleo
Excellent food, great cold brew! I would like to see more iced tea options. However, what is really holding it back is cleanliness. The ceiling over the kitchen entrance and the area over the panini area is full of large dust balls and filth. Right in customer view. Clean it up and Id give it 4 stars.
Really great cafe, such a good find in the Malden/Melrose area. I love their coffee and sandwiches. The only downside is that the wait can be a little long, but they do have an online ordering option which makes it more reasonable. In the summer, they put tables and chairs outside and it’s lovely sitting out there. They put out water for any dogs that join too :)
Phenomenal breakfast sandwiches at a reasonable price, beats the hell out of Dunkin donuts. The honey mustard they use is so good. The coffee is solid and the staff is wicked friendly. My favorite morning stop.
Love the original Italian sandwich. Their chocolate chip cookies are amazing. It’s a nice place to just relax - usually pretty quiet and the staff are friendly. Also they have high chairs and a changing table in the bathroom so it’s a good place to go with a baby
Had the Blat panini which had Sriracha sauce for a little kick. Americano was also good. Sat outside and things were surprisingly quiet on the street with just trees across the way. So relaxing.
Although the menu is not extensive the food is very tasty--sandwiches, salads and baked goods made in-house. Not surprisingly, there is also a large array of coffee and other drinks and friendly service. A nice place to meet a friend or do some studying or laptop work.
Great selection, with delicious sandwiches and a tasty array of customizable lattes made with fresh ground espresso. Awesome staff that is knowledgeable about the coffee and happy to shoot the breeze with you on a slow day
