Jimpa's Catering in Acworth

First timers. We ordered the fried catfish fillets and fried okra. It came with two big hush puppies. The catfish was coated lightly in cornmeal, crispy and not at all greasy. We enjoyed our lunch and will be back.

Excellent food and sweet tea better than McDonalds. Staff were super nice and checked up on me often to make sure I had everything I needed.

Made fresh and so delish, staff super hospitable. Dont underestimate it by just driving by!! Will be back again soon.

Average in most was, mediocre in some. Food quality so so, for some reason it was hard to feel comfortable and relaxed

The catfish and hush puppies were great. The seasoning and batter were spot on. The onion rings were delicious and just like my Dad use to make. More onion than batter with a crispy crust.This was one of my Dads favorite places to go before he passed (their old location across from Walmartand where he introduced his grandsons to mouth watering taste of fried catfish. Both my sons were hooked on fried catfish after eating here with him.

Ive been going to this restaurant every since it was on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw by Walmart. Thats when it was good they gave you a good portion of food and it was well worth the money. But every since they moved downThis restaurant is not at up to par at all. The food be cold the portions are small and the fish be little and Cooked hard. Ive been there about 7 times straight and the food is never right. Im very disappointed because this was a good restaurant when it was good but now its terrible I will take my business to Marietta diner from now on.

I love Jim Pas. I been going to them for years! Even back when it was affiliated with Uncle Bud Catfish! In Smyrna,Ga. The employee Robin at Jim Pas is great! She Go above and beyond! She needs a Raise!

We had the whole catfish. It was breaded and cooked to perfection. Everything came out hot and fresh. We will definitely be back.

Local restaurant, friendly staff, fried fish and hush puppies were good. Would go again.

Three-piece fish fillet dinner. $18.00Pros – Uber Eats delivery was on time and very hot which means it was prepared fresh. Okra was excellent. Tartar sauce was superior. Coating on both okra and fish were great.Cons – fish was nonexistent. Best guess, Id say 96% coating, 4% fish. I didnt pay $18 for a great coating and good okra.Summary – if you want good catfish, just go to Publix on Friday and grab their preprepared fried catfish. Its much much better… and CHEAPER.

Best fried catfish ever , also try the fried pork rinds they are so tasty I get pork rinds at convenience stores for a snack but when they are fresh and hot fantastic.

The staff were wonderful and the food was so good. Ive been craving catfish and this absolutely hit the spot. The hush puppies are some of the best Ive had! So crunchy, yet still super light and fluffy.

Will not go back ever, I didnt like anything, catfish was barley a filet with no seasoning, chicken leg wasnt fried hard like I asked abd the mac and cheese must have been made from scratch (its a no for me on that notestring beans taste like salt.

My family loved Catfish Jims when it was in the old Caseys Hot dog on 41. Never went to the other place in Acworth ( I think it was just catering. We found the new place last July and baby its the same. Best catfish in the land on or off the bone. Hushpuppies are the best! Just wish they put their tarter sauce in a squeeze bottle like they use to. We loved to plug it in and fill up those puppies with that sauce.

Perfection! Whether you try the fish, shrimp or chicken, its absolutely delicious! Worth the wait, and very nice staff!

We’d been craving some good fried catfish, and this really satisfied! I had the whole fish and it was tender and moist inside, with a nicely crisp outside. We came back the next day for some fried okra. It was great too!

My sister and I came for our first time and had the wing lunch special. We were greeted and treated AMAZING during our visit. The food was cooked to perfection and the staff talked to us like we were family. This is our new spot!!!!

Short staffed but worth the wait. Loved the pork rinds and was the best hushpuppies Ive had in a long time. Catfish and chicken are also great

omg one it’s so hard to find good catfish and hush puppies in Kennesaw!!! today my husband wanted to try them and after passing them on cobb for 2 yrs they definitely didn’t disappoint !!!Food was amazing omg i can’t explain but i know if you love catfish yesss this is the spot !?! Everything was season well ,hot and delicious!! Oh the wings are a must also !!

Fish was cooked very well. Just add your seasoning and enjoy! Everything is cooked to order so be patient. Its worth it. Pricing is on the high side so be prepared. Getting into the parking lot is a bit difficult due to traffic in this very busy corner.

The food is great. The hush puppies remind me of the ones my grandma made when I was young. The food is seasoned perfectly and taste amazing. It is what keeps me coming back.

Excellent country style catfish and chicken meal at JimPas! We had delicious fried catfish and chicken plus with a fantastic 3 PC large shrimp add-on! Enjoyed sides of fried okra, steak fries, onion rings, dynamite hush puppies and slaw! Its always nice when they exceed your expectations ... and they did!

Chewy and greasy. NOT a good combo for catfish filets. Finally got a chance to stop here to pick up my dinner. I was so hungry that I dug right out of their parking lot. First ate one of the three hushpuppies. That went pretty good even though it was a little doughy in the center, nice crisp and great flavor otherwise. At the next traffic signal, I grabbed one of the two filets and thats when the real trouble started! Tasted good but after I but into it, I had to tug it on order to get the bite finished. Then the chewing part started even though it was thin (for the priceand got progressively tougher. Finished it and reached for the 2nd piece and unfortunately it was just like the first one.Ive wanted to try this place for a long time and really hope that it was an aberration. It will be awile before I try it again, if ever.

Friday night, lots of traffic outside, plenty of open tables inside.This was my first visit, to get a take out order for 2. Nice service, order was ready in 30 minutes.We tried the country fried steak (size of a hamburger), catfish, hush puppies, large shrimp, clam strips, steak fries, real fried onion rings and peach cobbler. Nearly everything was fried.Its a lot, but I need to know if I would return.If youre driving home from work down McCollum, order ahead and pick these up:Fish, large shrimp, onion rings, hush puppies, steak fries.

First time diner. Took twice as long to get my order, and Im pretty sure that wasnt catfish. Ive eaten catfish all my life(47 years), and the texture of what I got was nowhere near catfish. Last time dining there, dont like being duped on what Im being served.

1st the service, Excellent.2nd, the food, Delicious. Catfish and chicken with a side of fried pork skins..😋Next time Ill se sure not to order so much. My eyes were bigger than my stomach on that day.

I love this place!!! I have picked up an order once and ordered through Uber eats twice. I always get the three piece catfish meal with mac and cheese and steak fries (FYI a 3 piece is enough. Very big catfish). It is always amazing no matter if you order through Uber eats or pick it up yourself. Anytime I am craving seafood and want good sides to eat with it I always think of Jimpa’s!!!! Cant go wrong when ordering from here it is always hot, fresh, and delicious. Thank you for making sure the quality of your food (freshness, taste, and presentationis always on point!!!! No other seafood establishments compare to this one!! If I could give more than five stars I would!!

This is some GOOD food. Probably THE best fried chicken I have EVER had. The fried okra. Delicious. The catfish Delicious. The hushpuppies Delicious.Even the tea and tartar sauce was truly great.The fries... mehh. If I could wish, I would want those skinny fries that have potato skin on them and are well seasoned. But... you dont go for the fries.The coleslaw was good... vinegary and slightly sweet.Id go back again every day for the fried chicken tho.The only down side is that with the fish and chicken family pack...8 PC fish and 8 PC chicken they only give 6 hush puppies and 6 rolls.I would think that is enough food for at least 5 people. And everybody wants more than one hushpuppy. Skip the rolls... add more hushpuppies to that dinner.I would suggest that you double check your to go orders before giving them to the customer. Some stuff was left out of ours and we had to go back.

I have not had no complaints with the food or the service here, until today, my daughter and I stopped by to buy Sunday dinner, I ordered the 3 pice cat fish dinner with white beans and green beans. My fish was over cooked and dry. I didnt know it until I got home. It had no taste . I was disappointed.

Are you kidding me? How can you say “ misleading” without saying it? Just show the photo I guess. I ordered a COUNTRY FRIED STEAK from JIM PAWS on Cobb Pkwy and it was so tiny I made a MINI SANDWICH, more bread than STEAK, and in two small bites it was gone! The lid on my GRAVY CUP was almost the same size as the COUNTRY FRIED STEAK! I kid you not. Then get this, how can you have COUNTRY FRIED STEAK (TINYbut no MASHED POTATOES as a SIDE to enjoy with the WHITE GRAVY they do have, but again no MASHED POTATOES! Unbelievable how they get away with it. I will never eat there again since they don’t give what they advertised, NICE SIZE STEAK. For who, CHILDREN MAYBE? Shame on them for misleading a paying customer…..

The woman that took my order was not nice. They gave me old fish instead of fresh fish because I only ordered a kids meal. I heard her say to the guy in the back " Its just a kids meal." When I asked her if my fish would be fresh, she replied that theyd just did a large order. The fish was rubbery. There was no seasoning on the fries. Never again will I spend a dime there. Poor customer service indeed.

I went to a FB group and asked for recommendations for my family thats visiting from NC, and a few people said Jimpas. Its near my home so I took them. The lady at the front that was taking orders is EXTREMELY rude!! To us, others, and her co-workers! I havent tasted my food, Im sure its good but good customer service and being kind, has to be factored in! I had to wait in the car so that I would refrain from cussing her slap out!

Catfish just the way I remembered having it at Uncle Buds and Catfish Jims. There is alot of history and love that went into this place. I enjoyed the food and the nostalgia it brought. I cant wait to come back again!

The most delicious catfish I have ever eaten.

Hands down some of the best food ever! Pure country home cooking at its finest. Ive ate at some of the best restaurants in the country, but when I am home this is my go-to place for that feel-good comfort food. By far, the best tartar sauce in the hush puppies ever! I will say the food is on the saltier side, but anytime that Ive asked for light salt, theyve always been able to accommodate! Regardless, this place is definitely worth giving a shot.

Have been eating at Jim Pas for a long time and I have enjoyed it each time. Some people just get pleasure out of giving bad reviews. They are never happy about something. Its either the food, service, wait time or the waitress. To me the food is great. I have never worried about the wait time because I know they cook to order. Never had a problem with any of the people that work there, they are always friendly and courteous. I will continue to go there because I like it.

Fantastic. Homestyle catfish feels like your grandparents made it for a weekend fish fry. Theres a wait because the food is cooked to order- and it is worth it 100%. Im exceptionally cautious about other peoples fried catfish but EVERYTHING about my meal far exceeded what in expected. I will undoubtedly become a regular here.

First time eating here. Had some good reviews so we thought we would try it. Hush puppies were delicious! Cat fish and fries were good. Husband got the steak & gravy. He didnt like it. White beans were hard, not cooked long enough. Sorry to say but we wont be back.

I’m from a rural town in GA where Fish Friday’s was a staple. I’ve noticed since we’ve been up here that it’s hard to find good fried fish so it’s no knock on this restaurant alone.We had the 3 whole catfish, green beans, white beans, shrimp, and okra. I don’t even know how to explain the taste of the fish but it just wasn’t what we’re used to. It wasn’t fried hard, the seasoning was just ok, but the taste of the fish itself was the issue. I don’t know where it comes from but I believe that’s the problem.The sides were just ok. Nothing to be excited about. The okra could have been better but they were salty. The shrimp was beautifully fried— the batter is good but the taste of the shrimp themselves is what was lacking. The shrimp didn’t have seasoning so it tasted like rubber. A young lady sitting beside me had the onion rings which were presented beautifully! She said they were sweet. She said they tasted like funnel cake batter around them.The good thing is that the staff was very nice! This is why I gave 3 stars; it’s not the food but the staff deserved some stars! The restaurant is very cute. Very clean and nice.You will wait at least 25 minutes for your food because they cook it to order so the fried stuff is definitely hot and fresh out the grease!

Delicious!! The catfish filets were perfectly cooked. They were nice and tender, not over battered and seasoned perfect. The fried dill pickles with ranch dressing and the fresh battered onion rings were the perfect sides to match up with the filets. My husband had the 2pc chicken breast, they were huge and very juicy. For a little whole in the wall mom and pop restaurant they have really good food. The foot traffic at the restaurant was constant which will attest to just how good their food really is.

Easily some of the best food in Kennesaw! I ordered the chicken tenders with a side of fried okra and Mac and cheese and the tenders were HUGE and the batter was amazing. We did wait a while (35 minutesfor our order but that is because everything is so fresh and I could tell that once I had gotten my food how fresh the food was. The employees even offered us drinks and hushpuppies because of our long wait. Definitely will be coming back!

Too be honest, I thought it was just another one of those small hole in the walls, with alright food. I could not be more wrong.The fried catfish somehow stays as crispy as when its fresh 30 minutes later. That fried catfish, is some of the best fried catfish Ive had. The outer layer is crispy, with a tender inside, that I can eat like chips. The chicken batter has this sweet tang to it that makes me want to eat more of it even when Im full.When you enter, its as welcoming as any friendly family owned restaurant thats been around for years, but with the ability to adapt like a new restaurant.First time I came here, I came twice more the next week. And now, it is a family favorite.

The new location is fantastic. I heard of a few rocky start stories but y’all have to remember that there are always small, resolvable issues when a restaurant first opens. They may not be a new food place but a full time lunch and dinner service is new to them so please be patient! The food was fresh and hot and the lunch specials are a great deal.

The hype for this place was incredible so we decided to give it a try. The wait was extremely long, not a problem for good food. Well, sure enough after a 40 minute wait everything we ordered came out cold. The coleslaw was warm, the service was not good, we had to ask twice for our drinks. Do not try the calabash shrimp even if they recommend it! It is frozen shrimp that have absolutely no flavor. Cold catfish filets dont taste very good either. The batter in the onion rings is more cake batter than crisp , and may have been a high point of the meal had they not co.w to the table cold. I wish I could this place a better rating but expensive cold food does not do it for me

You may have a long wait on your order but you will be happy you waited when you get your food. I do not like catfish but I will eat it anytime here. Not to mention they serve chicken, clams, and shrimp. Everything they make is delicious.
