Food is very good but the place is absolutely filthy! Needs a good cleaning company to help. They were closed in July for aMonth and we were hoping they were doing just this but nope

This was the best Belgian waffle Ive had in years. This was a fantastic experience and the food was amazing. With an all-day menu that spans breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in-between, Jimmys is a very smart and family-friendly choice if youre feeling hungry. My only regret is not being able to try more of the menu. Amazing food, great staff and establishment with incredible service. I would definitely return again and again.

Typical American family restaurant fare. Good prices, and open late for supper! Yay! Been missing this type of restaurant. Plenty of parking.

A fantastic restaurant. Theres a lot of outdoor seating and the decor is lovely. The service is excellent. Food is excellent and we especially fell for the grilled chicken that was a piece of heaven. Great place for a long lunch with friends.

Food, really nothing special. The noodles in my chicken parm were cooked too long and were falling apart but it was very inexpensive and the staff was nice. Surprisingly good drip coffee though.

Have been going to Jimmys for a treat for years for great food, good prices, nice staff. The only suggestion I have is that they should consider closing their doors for a couple of days & have a cleaning service do a really thorough cleaning of the tables (tops & bottoms & paneling in booth areas floors, walls, bathrooms & bar area. The paneling in both areas had so many splashes & specks of food on them that it turned the dining experience sour. There is nothing worse than sitting in dining areas that are dirty, sticky, tacky. It is unsanitary, smells & can invite bugs & rodents. The warmer months are coming so best to get ready before these critters find their way in. Bathrooms also caould use some updating & tlc.Please heed suggestions as I dislike feeling uncomfortable when eating there. Thank you.

Jimmys chicken breast lemonato is one of the best dinners Ive ever had. They have a great menu and very reasonable prices.

Great Easter dinner here! Owner was kind, staff was attentive and my food was tasty. Inexpensive, as well, for the quality.

Good and friendly service. Food was good and hot. I had grilled cheese and fries. My companies had meatloaf, pork tenderloin, and mashed potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their meal and would have it again. Definitely going back.

My reviews are based on the five following points: atmosphere, cleanliness, service, food quality, and prices.Though somewhat dated, the atmosphere seemed comfortable.One side of the restaurant has a dining area and the other side has a bar.I felt uneasy about cleanliness and sanitation/health guidelines. Waitresses were not wearing masks and neither were some patrons. Mandates have yet to be relaxed.Had dinner on a Thurs. evening. Not too busy at 5 pm. However, our waitress seemed to have a chip on her shoulder. Cold. No smile. No personality. I felt like we were inconveniencing her. Though she was prompt with the coffee.We had the charbroiled chicken breast served in a Greek style lemony-oregano sauce with choice of soup or salad, (we chose soup), potato or rice. (Mashed potatoes were great.No mention of a vegetable on the menu, but we automatically got corn. Overall, the food was hot, and quite delicious. We were not offered any dessert.The bill came to $30.47, which I felt was very reasonable for two generous dinners and coffee.I would like to return to try their breakfast and hope for a friendlier waitress and more health precautions taken. The carpeted floors could use an occasional sweep throughout the day.

Cheapest and BEST breakfast plate in Desplaines… I don’t need fancy 20 pancakes when this place can do it all with eggs and hash browns too for less than 10

We went there for a family dinner, and it was a very pleasant experience. The staff were swift and the food was quite tasty. Portions are very generous as well, I would highly recommend trying out Jimmys Restaurant :)

Love this diner. It was pretty quiet on a Sunday around 3pm so we got our food very quickly. Generous portions, freshly made, fast and friendly service at an unbeatable price for a full service diner. We will def be back

We love Jimmys Restaurant. They offer a variety of delicious entrees, sandwiches, and breakfast items, so everyone can order their favorite. The owner always comes over to say "Hi" and to see how we are doing. The staff is super friendly and always accommodating when we ask for substitutions. We usually run into people we know: usually long-time Des Plaines residents and people from church. It is a great place to eat! The creamy chicken with rice soup that they serve is awesome!

Ive been going here since 2015 and its my sons (4yr oldfavorite restaurant. He loves going there. The wait staff and the owner have been nothing but sweet and wonderful.

Wide variety of menu choices. prompt service, with quality food at reasonable prices. Family owned and managed. Home style atmosphere; reminds me of my favorite restaurant in the Swiss Alps.

Always clean and always hot and fresh hotdogs and polish and mmm delicious fries and tamales. No B.S. here just good food great prices and quick accurate service a landmark in Chicago 1 of a kind food here .

The food was good, I waited what felt an unusually long time to be asked if I had been helped, the restaurant was not busy at all, the manager was more interested in discussing weight lifting with another gentleman than asking me what I needed which was a carry out. As I waited for my food I observed the manager and staff eating and taking what I assume were breaks but in my opinion should be done away from the public eye! Definitely an older crowd, kind of dark inside, the menu has solid items for most tastes but a little on the pricey side I felt. I asked for a receipt and got just a slip of paper with the total on it and realised that I was over charged but for $1.00 It wasnt worth my time to go back. I feel they should work on customer service and experience to draw a more diverse crowd! I will probably go back but is not high on my list for the future.

They have the best soups! Plus, they dont add extra seasonings to foods, which is great for those that have allergies or dietary restrictions. Great customer service and family restaurant.

I’ve been going to this place since I was a little girl. I’ve always ordered a hot chocolate and a rice pudding to enjoy before my pancakes. Breakfast food here is great and the restaurant decor is very modern with a cozy home feel to it. The owner is so nice and always stops by our table to say hello and greet other guests.I love this restaurant and will be coming here, one day, with my kids !

Our waitress was very polite and accommodating. I was there with my two young grandchildren, and they love going here. Jimmy is always around and welcoming. Great place to go for family or with friends. Highly recommend this place!!!

Ive been coming here for years and normally love it! But today my friend got served chicken fingers that were raw in the middle, which he discovered after eating a half of one! He started vomiting about 2 hours after:( the waitress did take it off the bill, but wasnt even that phased by it:( I am truly shocked by this!!!! Totally not normal for this place! I hope it was just a bad day!

Found Jimmys on Google Maps on a whim and loved it! Surprisingly, the best saganaki I have ever had. Warm atmosphere, extensive menu, and attentive service. The owner checked on us a few times and was very sweet with my 2 year old. He even gave him a little toy car! Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

My husband and I are regulars and absolutely love this place, but are previous visit wasnt quite delightful. First off, my husband found a hair in his food and complained about it so he got a replacement dish, well turns out the meat came out raw like it wasnt cooked right. Sigh. Until they hire new cooks, I will not be visiting anytime soon!!!!

The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. I had the chicken Philly. It was HUGE and very good. I dont live near there but was at the Wolves game. A friend recommended this place so I tried it. Very glad I went. I will visit here again when in town.

Staff is always friendly. Ive been ordering Thanksgiving dinners to go for years and was always satisfied. This time, I was very disappointed. I didnt get the correct soup and they forgot the desserts that were supposed to come with the meal. And since when do they put raisins in the dressing?

Typical Greek style American fare restraunt. They have a little bit of everything. Fair prices. Free parking. They serve alcohol. The food is decent. Service is good. Its not a place to take a date to impress him/her but for a decent, fair priced meal its o.k.

Jimmys was better a few years ago. The food is a little above average, the pricing is fair, the restaurant was cozy, but the service is nearly non existent. Our waitress, a younger woman clearly had other things on her mind than serving us. They have a nice little bar area and an outdoor patio, but bring bug spray should you sit outside. Jimmys was on Groupon for a little while. If at all possible buy the Groupon before going.

The food is great! I have loved everything Ive ordered! But I go at night time and the service is by far the shittiest service Ive ever received in the history of everdome. One waitress we had only took our order and never came back to deliver the food or refill our coffee cups. We had to get up from our table to go find cream for our coffee when we asked for cream (same waitressand I reminded her TWICE that Id like cream with my coffee. We never get bread, and this isnt something that bothers me since I hardly eat bread but when I see other tables being waited on who receive bread and I get none you think, "did I say something wrong to the waitress or look a certain way to not be treated the same?"Every time I go I love the food but the service just sucks so bad.....pretty much my dad and I, or my boyfriend and I, go for the food and not for the service. Granted this is only at night when this happens. In the morning Im not sure! Ill have to see how morning service compares to night service.

Not bad food so dont let the 1s fool you. The portions are huge it is definitely a great value. Its just good / average diner food. Nothing spectacular. Some dishes seem to be better than others. I like the croissant ham and cheese sandwich. The chicken parm is good too.
