Jim Corbett National Park Uttarakhand India - National reserve in Bāzpur, India
Although booked for Jhirna Safari the tiger sighting we had was in Dhela which is enroute to Jhirna.
very beautiful scenery of grassland surrounded by hills and lush green forest.rich with deers, elephant but tiger sighting is less likely
Corbett Tiger Reserve is one of the best place for Wildlife lovers. It is situated in Nainital district, Uttrakhand. It is well connected with Ramnagar, Haldwani. Its a very big Tiger Reserve established in 1936. Dhikala, Bijrani, Garjia, Jhirna, Dhela, Durgadevi, Sonanadi, Sitabani, Mohan etc. entry gates are there. We took three Jypsi safari from Dhela gate towards Jhirna. You have to cross dhela zone on the way.Jypsi Safari Cost approximately Rs.5000-5500/- including Permit, Naturalist cum guide, Jypsi charges. Safari timing for 20 Km approx track in May/June - Morning 5.30 AM to 9.30 AM and in evening 3 PM - 6 PM.Beautiful landscape, TAR Road, grassland are there inside the jungle. Grassland is the main attraction of Dhela zone.I am fortunate enough to witness a small herd of elephants, Golden Jackal at grassland. Its a very wonderful experience for me.
It was a great experience even without tiger spotting. We got there early morning able to see plenty of other animals and fresh tiger marks all over places and got chased by a wild elephant and that was exciting.
Natural environment is good. During morning safari, you could hear birds chirping through out the safari. If you are a bird person, worth the trip. Dont keep high hopes on seeing any big wild animals like tiger or leopard. We managed to see only deers, jackal and monkeys 😀
Kuch nahi dikhta hai yaar!!!Bas hiran dikhate hai 6000 leke!!!
Very few wildlife available in this zone, there is some probability of spotting the tiger but there are only 4 tigers in this zone and there is 0 communication between the drivers so even if 1 of the jeeps spot it they wont communicate it to other using walkie talkie (although this part is true for the whole national park). Tbh i would recommend to go for some other national park, otherwise book well in advance so you can get a better zone like bijrani or dhikla. PS: sitabani is not even a part of jim Corbett (as per our guide)
Nice place ....
Well it is the second best spot for a reasonIf you have patience and guide and driver is good then you will definitely spot a tiger. There is an artificial waterfall near that region we saw the TiggerSpecies of deer and birds were commonElephants are also common in the region .
Its just an average spot for safari.... We hardly saw any animals expect for langoor and deers . Just a meadow fields safari... No water stream or river crossing will come.
It was a good experience as this zone offers jungle landscape as well as grasslands.Wildlife enthusiasts may ask for more and hence they can opt for bijrani or dhikala zone if possible.
Very nice
Beautiful forest, thrilling experience enhanced by sighting of the elusive Tiger
Good place to visit once. It is rare to see tigers there. Some suggested to visit Ranthambhore if one wishes to see tiger. Our group could see two elephants with a cub, some peacocks, a jackal and some deers.
Nice trip of wildlife tour... chances to tiger sightseeing...
Nic place
