Jim's Restaurant in Prattville
Description
Privilege
Good menu selection, basically the same every week. Practicing safe distancing. Been in business over 50 years.
MoreFirst time there. Breakfast was great. Our server was awesome. Drinks were kept full. We will be back.
MoreIt is the best country food and the waitresses are friendly and helpful. If you want a great meal and place to go this is the place.
MoreThe buttered squash was not 110%.....but if you like southern cooking, ......this is the place to get it.......3 veggies, and 1 meat,or fish...plus tea,if you partake. ..or about $ 9.00......the banana pudding is extra...... (3.50).Happy Holidays too all.....m
MoreIve eaten here twice now and have yet to receive warm, much less hot food. The staff is nice enough, and the restaurant is clean enough. Im just glad we were camping close by, and dont live close enough to go back.
MoreGood food a little over priced for what you get. My wife got a salad I got a burger and fries our total was over 20 dollars for that little bit. We had water to drink
MoreThe best meat and 3 in the Prattville, AL area. Sorry Front Porch of Millbrook, AL and Cindys (formerly Prattville Pasta Mill). Jims tastes like it is seasoned better and does not taste like they just opened cans and heated up the veggies. You can tell that some of it is made from scratch. Just a better quality meal. Yum!!!!
MoreDown home type of place. Good eating, superfriendly wait staff. I just wish they stayed open for evening dinner
MoreFried chicken, onion rings - very good. French fries - too greasy. Baked beans were just OK.
MoreGreat food and a pleasant atmosphere, most of all the amazing people who come in on a daily basis to eat breakfast and lunch with us
MoreA great lunch for under $10. in a comfortable setting. Attentive waitress, without hovering. Easy access parking lot.If you are close, give them a try. I visit whenever Im in town.
MoreThe chicken was delicious. The black eyed peas were good but very salty. The cream corn was out of a can and delicious. The mashed potatoes were flat, soupy and gummy with no gravy. Corn bread was passable. When I was nearly done with my meal there were other plates that passed my table with normal looking potatoes with gravy. When I said something while paying my check the girl simply said "I will let the waitress know". I wont be back. Not worth the money at all. Even with the good fried chicken.
MoreRecommended, and delicious. Had the March special and two meat platter. For an appetizer the fried green tomatoes were amazing and their home made ranch dressing was a surprise treat.
MoreHeaded there this morning for breakfast, friendly service, great food, its like coming home and visiting with friends every time we go there.
MoreWe really only ever go for breakfast, which is usually tasty and reasonably priced. The staff is always friendly. My only complaint is the interior could use an update, it is rundown, which gives the appearance of not being very clean.
MoreNow thats a meal.... Awesome..Without a doubt the BEST place to eat in Prattville... I have Jims 5 stars twice = 10
MoreBest place to go for a meat and 3 vegetable kinda food!!! I have went there all my life and I have seriously NEVER had bad food!!! Great sweet tea too!!! Staff is very friendly and fast also!!! The waitress keeps your drinks refilled WITHOUT asking!!!
MoreService was horrible food was awful place is dirty and they dont seem to care got our drinks waited 20 minutes to order ask three people for our waitress was told she was in the office I finally went to the register and ask if someone could please take our order only 5 tables in the restaurant so they were not busy talk to the man at the register when we paid he didnt seem to care either really sad this place use to be awsome but the last few times I have been there it has been for breakfast and this has been the kind of experience I have had
MoreThis was not the "hidden gem" we were hoping to find. Pros: clean restaurant, convenient location, decent prices. Cons: service, rude and gossiping staff behind the counter (talking to customers with a mouth full of food and about the way the restaurant is run), food quality. The biscuit gravy is powdered from a package, very runny, and still had clumps. The biscuits were not well risen, hard, and dry. The omlet was ok...a little overdone but edible. The ham inside the omlet tasted as if it sat in salt for days. Their menu says they have orange juice but dont (maybe they were just out but that was not what the waitress said and there were only 2 others in the restaurant, both drinking coffee when we got there -still early in the morning)
MoreSome days food is good some days not could be some improvement in quality and cooking of food chicken dumplings hardly any chicking or dumplins mostly mushy bits sometimes fried chicken is dry and tell it has been warmed over not fresh fried chopped sirloin hard not like hamburger steak susspose to be some vegetables tastey some not restaurant used to be great then went down hill came back now it could use some improvement in cooking and quality too small fish filet
MoreAlways had good experience but today was the worst service and food was blah at least what they had cause they run out of just everything on their lunch menu. Waited 40 minutes for our food with just five tables full. When we finally got our order we still didnt get half of what we ordered cause they run out. Was very displeased!
MoreVery accommodating for our group.Side room worked well, great service, great food. Will use them again!
MoreAside the fact we were the only black ppl in there, the food was good. Thanks to the friendly black girls in the kitchen. But I felt the staff tried to insult us and charge us crazy prices thinking we wouldn’t look into it. And when I asked at the register they got upset like it was an issue to explain the bill.. For 2 eggs it’s $3.50!!!!!!!! WTH!!!! You could get a dozen for that price! And no they do NOT come with your meal which the waiter failed to mention!! They charged me $4.10 to put cinnamon on my daughters toast!!! Charged me $5.95 for a meal we ddnt even have. Long story short my family and I will NEVER visit them again!!!
MoreFirst time here, came for breakfast. Good food, quick service, reasonable prices. Coffee was very good. Bacon was a little too crunchy for me. Id come back.
MoreThe waitress was doing all she could with what she had maybe you do not serve jelly with breakfast.Sorry but breakfast time maybe 8:30 am the bathroom, ladies could have used a good scrubbing with veryHot water hope the kitchen was cleaner.
MoreTerrible! Terrible service, terrible pre made food! Worst gravy I have ever seen or tasted. Menu literally said biscuits were made from scratch but I could have made better biscuits with my eyes closed! Never offered a high chair, had to get up and ask for creamer, had to get up and ask for a refill on coffee, just didnt ask for jam because it would be another thing to get up and ask for. They advertise as Prattvilles favorite, what a lie. More like Prattvilles *it hole.
MoreFood Great, more than I could eat at one time, service excellent and very courteousBelieve me ,my family and I will return.
MoreFood was good. Service was not. We kept getting forgotten. It was obvious that they have a large group of regulars that did not have any service problems.
MoreThis was our first time here and the breakfast was awesome!!!! The pancakes and French Toast were so so good! We will definitely be back!!!
MoreI grew up eating here with my parents. Their lunch and dinner menu specials change daily but everything is good. But we usually order the same thing from the menu - Hamburger steak, onions & gravy, house French fries, rolls, and a salad. With a side of housemade onion rings! Delicious!
MoreOld school southern diner. Just what I was looking for. I got lima beans, where can you get lima beans??? Excellent service, very friendly staff. Delicious.
MoreDown home cooking. Nice meat and 3 for lunch. Staff was courteous and helpful. Food was delicious. Prices awesome. A must try.
MoreExactly what I want from a "mom & pop Meat & 3". Jims has been around for a long long time and I was impressed with my first visit. The prices are fantastic and my bacon cheeseburger was great for lunch. Nothing fancy about it, but a great value. Server was friendly and attentive as well.
MoreThis place rocks reserved the Lil room for a quick wedding, dinner, reception. Waitress was awesome.. And very polite. I hate to leave this beautiful state when you have such wonderful ppl and great food southern style.
MoreAfter sitting down it took 10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. The place was not crowded as there were only people at about half a dozen tables. The tea was soured. The food was overcooked and dried out. Service was decent but nothing to brag on. I wont ever go back.
MoreEnjoyed the Sunday lunch menu meat and three option which was awseome as always. Friendly wait staff, quick service, great food options. Famous for their hamburger steak and gravy.
MoreThis place was ranked pretty good online, but reviews are deceiving. I ordered a salad with just lettuce and cheese and the cheese was sliced fake cheese that somebody tore up. I also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich plain, but it came with mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. Then it took an addition 10 minutes after everybody elses food came out for my 3 year old to get her chicken tenders and fries. The fries were cold which led me to believe that they had forgotten to make the chicken tenders. Then when I discussed how unsatisfied I was the waitress got a nasty attitude toward me and blamed the kitchen for the problems instead of addressing them in any way. I will never go back and I recommend that nobody else to either.
MoreNot satisfied at all. The vegetables came out of a can and had no flavor whatsoever. And the fried chicken? We had to wait 15 minutes for it. It was greasy and tasteless. And the waitress forgot our cornbread! This used to be a great place to eat many years ago. Jim would refuse to eat there now...
MoreI have been going to this restaurant half my life. I love the food. Sixty years owned by the same family. Good food and great service
MoreAlways great food! Family owned restaurant with some of the BEST food in Prattville!
MoreFood was just as good as it has been for 40 years !!! Service was fantastic. Dont miss their Hamburger Steak and Salad. Hamburgers are also classics. This food has been Alabamas favorite for many years. Known statewide.
MoreGreat food at a reasonable price along with the down home attitude puff the staff make this a great place for any meal if you are looking for something that granny would make you. All of the food is fresh from the garden and it tastes that way. A truly must visit for anyone that is homesick for some good ole country cooking.
MoreHomestyle cooking at a decent price. Can be a little slow but worth the wait. One meat, three vegetables (small salad can be one of the sides), rolls/cornbread and coffee/tea or side...all for one price.
MoreFresh potatoes for fries, all three plates were soggy. The chicken sandwich was frozen chicken from a bag with white bread as a bun. I could have microwaved a meal of equal quality and saved the mark up.Friendly staff and good service but the food is straight from the frozen isle and corn bread from the box of premade mix. And yes, we heard the microwave beep a few times.
MoreGreat home style cooking and the lunch menu varies daily. Theres also a regular menu if you dont want the meat + 3.
MoreJiims is a family owned restaurant, one of the last around. I know their family and they are of the finest sort of people. Jim Pierce came home from WWII and started that restaurant in the 1950s I think. I eat at Jims quite often, at the very least a couple of times a month, and have been doing so since I was a kid in the 1960s. No matter what I order, from a Chef Salad, or a Burger, or their lunch specials (a meat and 3 veggies), I have always found that their food is delicious, cooked properly, and their waitresses and staff friendly and professional. For anyone that is tired of big corporate owned restaurants, I highly recommend Jims, a family owned restaurant to anyone that wants a delicious home cooked meal, like their specials which include a choice of meat and choice of three veggies from the list, cornbread and rolls, etc.David Edelen
MoreWe love this place. It is one of our favorite places to go for breakfast and lunch. You see a lot of the same local people everyday and seems to be very popular. I have never had any complaints on food or service here. We have grown to know most of the servers and love them all. We always ask for Lisa. She knows us the second we walk in the door. She knows what I like to drink and eat. I wish the owners would do just a little updating to attract new customers. Great local place and would recommend to anyone.
MoreI agree with Emily Millis about the bad reveiws. We have also had good service and good food at Jims. Its a country restaurant, dont know where you complainers have been eating before trying Jims. They are the best country restaurant in Prattville. My husband loves their fried chicken, its always hot and crispy and I love their fried catfish, which they will fry for me, if its not on their meal of the day. Yall dont know what good food it? The tea is delicious also..
MoreIt astonishes me to see all the negative reviews! This place has always been fabulous! We love the burgers and they have delicious onion rings! Fabulous southern fare!
MoreThe food was disgusting, and the service was rude. For $10, I got the shrimp special, which was: six battered shrimp, fried until crisp all the way thru; a puddle of french fries, that dripped oil from the fork; and a saucer of green, white, and brown iceberg lettuce. My kids got deep-fried hot dogs, in a bun, with a few potato chips. No mustard, pickle or nothing. The hot dogs were leathery. That should give you the picture. Ill just add that the potato salad my wife got tasted like it had rotten eggs in it. The place seems to exist by serving a few elderly regulars, and the waitress was clearly irritated that there were more than a half-dozen tables seated--which seemed to be a miracle that should have had her down on her knees giving thanks. Do not go there, or youll be sorry.
