Jewel in the Crown Ballsbridge - Indian restaurant in Dublin, Ireland
Good food staff member on trainee was very helpful ND professional
Pretty basic place with pretty basic curries. Not sure of the normal standards of curry houses in Dublin, but this reminded me of UK curry houses from the 70s or 80s.
In what world this tastes and looks like a Tandoori BUTTER CHICKEN ? Please do not represent and SELL an authentic , good Indian dish in such a bad way !I am not angry as much of WASTING the money but on seeing such a nice dish poorly prepared !
Great food and great service given……. Friendly staffs!!! Tandoori prawn is lovely
Great food and service. Comfortable atmosphere. I had house special with rice and naan. Plenty of food reasonable price
Food was good, better than expected tbh. Ambience was good
Fabulous food here last night after a trip to the van Gogh experienceVery reasonableFood amazingAnd staff very pleasentDefinitely be backWife had the korma it was amazingI had the madras it was quite special too...Thanks guys also for my wifes birthday surprise at theEnd we are very grateful,See yall soon
This the worst restaurant I have ever visited, coming to the biryani, I felt like eating turmeric powder, jus with one spoon I decided to leave the place Immediately, this place is not at all worth for your money. Even if you tried to make biryani by watching YouTube , it might taste much better than here.
Delicious!! I picked up Bombay Alloo, Onion Baji and Garlic Naan Special & it was just so tasty. Thanks as always very good service 😊
It is very reasonable priced with Good Menu and friendly staff.
I must say they do a lovely Rogan Josh
Never had a bad takeaway from here, the sauces are incredibly tasty!
Beautiful food, very friendly staff and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.
Average indian takeaway. Only below average thing was this weird prawn starter i got which was awful & in a weird bread crumb.... take it off the menu it does you no favours.
Had a great meal here before Eagles concert in Aviva. Was extremely busy but the food was magnificent and service very good.. would highly recommend
Absolutely gorgeous food. The early bird menu is so good and very well priced at €20. The staff were so brilliant. Highly recommend 👌
Curry was great, the staff was friendly and quick to adjust to our needs. We also loved the snacks before the main meals. However, the butter paneer was a total misunderstanding - extremely sugary which overpowered any other flavour in the dish, I felt sick after a few bites. Overall, to us it seemed that the place is a bit it too overpriced.
Food was so delicious and the staff were really lovely!
Lovely food. Met up with friends we hadnt seen in a long time due to COVID. Great place to meet and catch up.
Lovely staff and food was really niceThe size of the starters is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars
Hi I had a takeaway from here ..I ordered the chicken chilli masala and vegetable rice ..have to say it was lovely ..the only thing I was disappointed in was the plastic takeaway container was only half full of the chicken chill massla..I thought it would be full because of the cost ...and I did have a dish from before qnd it was full ..so wasnt happy about that ..
Excellent food with a great selection. The early bird menu is fantastic value
Delightful place with knowledgeable servers who will help you pick something new that you will like :very good spice levels too
Had a dine in there. Good ambience. The food was good too. Biriyani was tasty, but more oily.. Samosa was excellent.
Food is absolutely amazing. Chicken Madras, Lamb Jalfrezi was melt in your mouth. Aloo chaat, onion baji sooo tasty.
3 of us ate here at 6 on a Thursday evening. It was very quiet at this time. Popadoms came with a selection of dips- the mango chutney was by far the favourite. It had to be the best Ive ever tasted! We shared a chicken Bhuna ,a chicken Dopiaza, 2 rice, a peshwari naan, a plain naan and a potato dish. Each dish was fantastic, full of flavour. Portions are big here so 2 main courses between 3 was ample!
Amazing Indian food, best Korma Ive ever had, early bird menu is really good value and the staff are really nice. Great place!
Absolutely loved the Korma here and the service couldnt have been better! Our waiter was very pleasant, attentive and considerate. We will definitely come back!
Excellent Indian restaurants for desi food. You get best chicken and vegetarian 😋 dishes for both appetizers and mains.Bar is also good. You can customize the dish as per your spice level
We arrange to have dinner there before matches at the Aviva as often as we can. The food is a dream, I am vegan so Indian food is a go-to, the staff are courteous, friendly, and always go the extra mile to make customers feel welcome. 100% recommend.
Lamb madras was delicious, lamb very tender. Vegetarian was amazing too and the garlic and coriander naan was hot and crispy.
Went before ireland v qutar game didnt book, we were found seats we ordered off early bird menu and starters and main course were both lovely we were given poppadoms and dips before we eat, staff lovely and friendly, if I go back have a more leisurely meal, and give it the extra star it probably deserves.
Absolutely fantastic. Food was fresh and tasty. Service was excellent, location brilliant and the Toilets were spotless. I couldnt ask for better.
Must try curries and rice(biryani). If want to try starter then is just waste of money. Just need to improve in starter but curries fabulous and if you ask for spicy food they will make it.Friendly staff and good service.
Ordered on Deliveroo crown tandoori and a couple of platters. Omg, the food was just horrible! I love Indian food and spices, but this... we had to simply through away. Oh sorry, Cheese Naan (breadwas good :)
Enjoyed a lunch here today. Place was quiet but food and service very good. They could do with investing in a decent coffee machine though. Will have to find an excuse to come back!!
Honestly the best Indian food I’ve ever had. So tasty and service was impeccable. Would definitely return (I am planning on soon). The naan was the best naan I’ve ever had. I’m hungry typing this!
This restaurant was really close to our hotel why we decided to go there and have some dinner. The food was delicious! We both had curry and naan. Prices are totally affordable and they offer a wide range of food which suits everyone. Service was excellent as well. If you are around you should definitely go there!
The Indian food served here can be termed as average at best. I usually go here for lunch as it is close to my office. No matter what gravy dish I order, all taste same except that some are spicier than the others. The reason why I keep visiting is that they offer set lunch at a very reasonable price, which includes one starter, one main dish and one naan bread /rice from set menu and food isnt that bad.
This was delicious! The chicken curry was very tasty and the garlic naan was excellent. The early bird prices were very cheap and the quantity of food you get is very generous. The service was very fast and the staff were friendly. One bad thing would be that it was very cold inside the restaurant!
I really enjoyed my Madras and pilau rice meal. The pakora to start was also very nice and the service was very pleasant. There is a midweek deal which, for the area, is very reasonable.Portions are on the smaller side however, so you might come away wanting more. My friends also noted that the Masala was not very tasty at all and they would not have this again.
Good food, slow service. I was staying locally for a work event and I was seated quickly, however a table of 20 were ahead of me which meant a long wait for service, never mind I had my book with me. Food was very good, however collected when I was done and must have been sitting for at least 20 minutes before I caught their attention to pay. Then a longer wait for the owner with the credit card machine. Overall very good, but they need to sort out their priority of customer.
Preferred Ravis kitchen around the corner, although nothing terrible and lamb in my Rogan josh was soft and did the trick after an afternoon of watching rugby.
Great service, and the food is always great here! Ive always visited with a different group of people and every time they have complimented the food. Definitely worth a visit if you like good Indian food.
Great restaurant with authentic food! I recently started working in the area and had my eye on this place, and today was the day I got to try it! They have a lunch menu which consists of a starter and a main, good value! The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. I had naan bread with my main, which was freshy made and delicious, though in retrospect I would have probably ordered an extra side of rice, as the spicy chicken felt a bit light on its own! All in all, a great option for lunch or a meal to share with friends!
Excellent indian food. Great staff. Reasonably price. Huge qty. 1 order of chicken tikka masala can be good for 2 people.
Jewel in the crown is one of my destination for take away food for dinner. The Lunch combo is a worth for money where you get two course meal for 10 Euros. In nights, you get varieties of fried rices for just 3.5 Euros and tastier biriyanis for 10 Euro. But the taste is awesome. Dont miss the Madras veg as you will get tears due to the spiciness. Also for starters Samosa or Bhaji would be perfect compared to the soup they serve as it is not natural.
45 minutes since I ordered the food still waiting for it... (update - 24.01.18The food arrived cold and wrong order, also tasteless, one of the worst takeaways I have ever had, not worth the money.. I hate to leave a negative review but this place has left me with no choice..(update - 27.01.18I left my details with the receptionist to have the manager phone me back, it has been 5 days and still no call back, also the food gave me an upset stomach, which definitely assures me that the food was not fresh. I am still awaiting for someone from this restaurant to call and explain what all this happened.
This is the Best Indian in Dublin. It tends to be quiet when you go in - dont let that fool you. The food and service are brilliant. Also had my birthday there the other week and they were fantastic. Take away is also excellent.
My favorite Indian restaurant both for seat in and for take away. I feel the quality of food is extremely good, in particular the Chicken Korma and the Biryani are my favorites there. They of course stock Indian beer and portions are large. When you order for take-away/ delivery, they always include pappadum and freebies.Atmosphere is nice and curated though dont expect a super-elegant or polished restaurant. Far to say that it can suit a dinner with friends and an easygoing date ;)
