Jerk Kitchen in Nottingham

The food was bland. Customer services was shocking. I’ve never met so many people that didn’t want to be there or serving customers.The food is just microwaved pre packaged food that looks like it has been bought from Iceland.The place looks like it is trying hard. But looks can be deceiving.The food is not Caribbean. The special jerk sauce is not special, in fact it’s just bbq.If this place wants to do well then they need to start preparing authentic Caribbean food. Especially for the price they are charging.I will not be recommending this place or visiting again. I would rather go to the chippy next door.

Really disappointed. Zero flavour and taste, not what I was expecting . Some meals come inside what looks like a ready meal sealed container re heated .

A little disappointed this time. The mutton curry was quite dry. Needed a good sauce. The fried dumplings were a little greasy.

Best Jamaican food place I have ever been to. Tried many in many different areas but this is always 10/10. Customer service is Amazing from all staff.. love the experience and the food

We order mutton rice and chicken wings every thing was bang on the mutton melted in ur mouth and the spice was a nice heat

Ordered on Ubereats two main meals which came up to £30 and it did not include rice… £12.95 for just chicken curry no rice.. absolute joke.. make it clear that the meals classed as main s do not include rice.. also came as pre packaged containers that’s was just warmed in the oven and sent on its way. Terrible experience!

If you like cold food then this is the place to go!We ordered 2 meals, delivery was fast in under 15 mins.The food came in takeaway containers like the sort you get from a Tesco frozen meal.At £12 per meal you would think the portion size would be good, but boy how wrong could I be!! You get more food from the Tesco frozen meal at a huge less cost!Rice was cold and all in all I feel cheated. I rang the store and told them, but I just got told "I dont understand why the rice was cold" they didnt seem to care and said if you have a compliant to take it us with Uber eats. My advice to anyone is to either order from in store and avoid ordering from the major food platforms.

This was my first visit to this establishment and it certainly wont be my last! I am always searching for delicious gluten free possibilities in Nottingham and Jerk Kitchen has come up trumps! Absolutely delicious boneless chicken boxed meal for one. Warming barbequed chicken chunks, a massive portion of seasoned rice and delicious homemade coleslaw, all packaged up in a very generously sized container. I was on my way in less than 5 minutes. Brilliant! Cant wait to visit again.

Such a great shame with this placeWhy on earth is the meals so spicy. Please give customers the choice on how much pepper you put on your dishes.I really hope they reduce the amount of pepper in their dishes soon.

Didnt enjoy.. Very disappointed, very bland Tasteless.Will not be returning, so disappointed. So Tasteless for this style of food..Never worth what I payed. Unfortunately I dont rate this place at all.

Ordered a jerk chicken, which came and the chicken skin was charcoal and there was no "Jerk" hotness. First and last time ordering. For the price £9 for a jerk chicken it should come with a side dish. Not impressed 😔

Called in at 8.55pm on a Tuesday evening (5minutes before they shutafter a soul destroying ikea trip. Welcoming & friendly, no huffing or puffing that they were about to close the door.X2 box meals ordered. Food was unreal, fresh juicy chicken, rice was fresh, home made coleslaw was perfect. 10/10 service

Just what the doctor ordered. Highly recommended. Foods great. Pleasant staff. Whats not to love about this place. One minor, critic, the food is a tad spicy, but tastes great all the same. 5 stars from me 😎💙

This gentleman who Ive personally seen for the first time is an absolute credit to the business. He was very interactive, professional and made me feel he had time 4 me as a customer other than for just taking my money. If anything he saved me some👊🏾🙏🏾

Ordered the whole jerk chicken, rice n veg, had to wait for delivery for over an hour but this was ok as we expected this on a friday evening. The meal turned up piping hot, dished it out and stat down to enjoy as its awhile since we had something from here. To our horror the chicken spices where volcanic, absolutely inedible.....2 bites and mouththroat and stomack were on fire. That peed of i chucked it in the bin waste of £23. Really disappointed would recomend in batch tasting.

We wish we lived closer! We were staying in our caravan and decided to try a take away from here - it was brilliant. 2 meal boxes, 1 with jerk chicken the other with mutton curry, and rice and peas and coleslaw, with a side of callaloo. The food was all spiced wonderfully, and pretty spicy and the callaloo was a great counter to the rich meat and spicy rice. Great portion sizes as well. We will absolutely be back next time we are in the area.

Not sure about the food but I was stood in there for over 10 minutes today waiting to be served when there was only one other lady in the shop.The girl in there the. Started taking orders from the deliveroo/uber eats/just eat machine and prepping them instead of asking me what I wanted. I left at this point.

Ordered 2 box meal dishes with 2 additional jerk sauce pots, as we thought it might be a little dry. Food turned up in good time but realised the sauce was forgotten. Politely called straight after and asked what could be done and was told by a lady who answered the phone to hang on while they investigate. After being left on hold for 15 minutes we were then cut off!!! Thus the 1 Star for customer non service..what a real shame.

Food is okay but was luke warm despite eating as soon as I left, the girls serving completely ignored me for the first 5 minutes whilst I stood there despite there being no other customers, didnt even look up or acknowledge I was there. Place could do with a proper regular clean everywhere too.

Excellent food, my favourite is the burgers. There is also a lot of parking so really easy to get up to.

Went back to Jerk Kitchen recently. Thank you for going back to the containers from before as the last time I came, the container was smaller. Fantastic food and service. You have my patronage again.

Omg they do the best tasting rice and peas, the curry mutton is soooo good and good prices, the plantain was a little bit undercooked for MY liking I like it all crispy and goey but I could imagine if I asked next time to cook it a bit longer they would, really really friendly poeple in there. They do desserts which are different to your boring frozen chesecake aswell, the baking smelt amazing when I walked in. theyre 10 levels above all Jamaican places in Notts. Thankyou!

£8.50 for this!!! Are u crazy or What ,3 chicken nug and few chips lol 😆, whoever the place is sticky and very dirty... they charging for plastic spun and furck £0.50 🤣 ,,, never c something like that before ,Ill not recommend u to the others good look in the future

Just had Jerk Kitchen for the third time in as many months. We think its so so good and we lived in the heart of South London for 7 years! Jerk Chicken, brown chicken stew, boneless chicken curry, rice and peas, dumplings, plantain, mac & cheese and slaw are all amazing! Keep it up guys!

Had a change of takeaway tonight, this place was fantastic will definitely go again good size portions and very tasty couldn’t recommend enough, staff very friendly and helpful also and even looked happy in their work😋

Food was excellent. Very good service from Anthony ,Julian and the other staff. I had the jerk chicken, the mutton curry and the rice and peas, very tasty. Definitely recommend Jerk chicken nottingham.

Horrifi,in the bin. Jamaican Sunday dinner. No roasties as advertised, kebab shop grade fries instead. Gravy is mutton curry. Chicken half raw. Not even fit to put in the dogs bowls. Always had great food from here previous, but its gone off a massive cliff.

Food is usually great, however there is inconsistency from time to time. We ordered the brown stew chicken this afternoon which is inedible as the heat of the spice in the dish is beyond spicy. Do you guys taste the food? Brown stew should be hearty flavours, not pure heat. This Ruined our Saturday night takeaway

I was visiting Nottingham and decided to give you a try. I Ordered 3 meals for 3 different people. I had the mutton only ate 1 mouth full and left the rest as it was too salty. When I rang and asked the other 2 people how there meals were as we all ate seperatly they both said the same thing that they didnt enjoy it as the food was too salty. 1 was chicken thigh and the other was mutton. The steamed veg was bland, this is the first Caribbean restaurant that i have had steamed veg and it didnt have any kind of seasoning. Very expensive. Nearly £35 for 3 people and then to top it off you charge for takeaway cutlery. This is another first for me as every other take away I have had food from provided cutlery with the meal.

Good taste, good variety, and very accommodating staff. Hearty portions too. Would love to go back and try some more things from the menu. But we live quite far away...we tried it as we were passing by and good Caribbean places are like gold dust in Nottingham.There was one minor issue with one of the dishes but given the point above there is/was no point raising it with the place as there would be nothing they could do.

Wow! Cooked with love for sure!Had a Jerk Kitchen takeaway for the first time in a long time this weekend!I was so suprised how the game has stepped up from it being already great from what I remembered previously. Portions are very generous & everything tasted FRESH! Very happy customer 😀

Best Caribbean food you can get. It’s modern, tastes amazing and the staff are friendly. I would highly recommend trying this place, you’ll never look back.

WOW !! Amazing to see how they have transformed the interior of the shop and moved forward with the changing times of the pandemic... Shops are moving more and more towards a cashless society and it was nice to see that Jerk Kitchen are moving with the times... I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the business and you could tell he REALLY cares about the food on their menu and the way they provide their service. My advice is, if you haven’t yet been to Jerk, give it a try and see what you think... Friday night, home from work and too tired to cook and tired of the usual takeaway and your taste buds fancy something different with a taste of the Caribbean. Give these people a call 👍

Ordered chicken strips at the counter and came home to find they were chicken wings and on top of that, the chicken was dry and you could tell was reheated! I don’t normally eat wings as they are messy and this meal was no exception. I’ve not had one bad meal here until now which is a shame! Also thought was pricey at £7.50.. I added my own rice when I got home to make a meal of it. Overall disappointed and expense and still hungry 😫😫😫

As you can see some righteous big portion a food, I had to step twice fe lick it off. Staff was all smiles n good dealt with the busy time steady n polite. The young fella making sure the ladies had a supply to more than compensate for the volume of bodies in the shop and phone takeaways. He gets 5⭐ alone fe dat. Conscientious worker man n him young young still. Big up.Anyway, food was aright Ive had better but Im not complaining at all.Note to staff.Remember servlet n cutlery always go down well with a takeaway.Nuff love n positive Vibrations.

Been here a few times. The quality isnt consistent, and our order has been wrong a few times. But when its good, its good! Their stock was sold out by 8.30pm on Saturday night and they had to shut shop. So its very popular. The dumplings are the baddest! I love them. Will continue to go there

Food was always good from delivery, but decided to take a trip over to the shop. Two young inexperienced girls on the counter were more bothered about man in the shop than the customers. I was asked 3 times what I wanted, between watching man and talking to another, they still managed to get my order wrong. Asked for jerk chicken, by the time I got home I got dry chicken, no sauce. So had to take it back. Another customer brought back an order whilst I was in there, one of the girls walked off, the other just laughed. They then had a spillage, and asked the chef from the kitchen to come out and clean it up. Very unprofessional!! As nice as the food is, until the staff have been either trained or replaced, wont be going back. Pity!!
