Very nice loop walk trail. We enjoyed it a lot
This is a wonderful place for a walk. Deep woodland, not manicured but left as nature intended. A good few routes to enjoy. Many people walk their dogs here so it’s always nice if you enjoy meeting dogs on their walks. Some deer located near the car park. Excellent toilet facilities also.
MorePeaceful. Its great to get away from the noise of the city and vehicles. This is a great place to go to have time for yourself. You can vary the route you take for your run/walk.
MoreWhat a magical place for midnight strolling, stargazing, discovering witchs huts, and being chased by ghosts.
MoreThe most magical experience of Irish nature 😍
Beautiful gem of a spot for a family walk. Buggy friendly dog friendly and great place for the kids to explore in and out of the woods, plenty of space for your picnic after. Walk only takes about an hour and is very manageable for all levels and a surprise of reindeer in the field just at the start..
MoreLovely place to visit and relax
Great place for a walk. It has short and long routes through the woods and it has well maintained toilet facilities.
MoreLovely area, wooded area has just a small walk ideal for children, very sheltered too as any time we have visited it rained so shelter was welcomed.
MoreGreat place for a family picnic and stroll, choice of 2 walks.
Really nice walk. The forest paths are clean even after the heavy rain. Very relaxing atmosphere.
MoreSo beautiful. All the blue bells in the forest are absolutely magnificent. Clean not a lot of dog mess on the ground which is always a bonus. No deer near the gates one off in the distance. Shame.⁸ Fantastic place. 👍💝
MoreSeveral loop walks in the forest. Between 1km,2km 3.1km,you can vary. Toilets cleaned daily . Deer park, seating area open and over roofed . Most walks possible with stroller etc. To lengthen you can park car at Ballyrafton woods and walk 2 km to Jenkinstown. Cross over the Dinan river, along fields and the forest. Scenic garden displays on the way and a private lake . At the entrance the old Jenkinstown castle. Plenty of car parking there and at and after entrance.
MoreNice forest park. Plenty of parting and also toilet facilities. Two loop walks are very accessible and open. Deer are an unusual attraction. However, of the many forest walk we’ve been to in Kilkenny this one has least variety. Well surfaced perimeter walk took about 45 minutes and we added on the shorter one for good measure!
MoreLovely walk through the woods, and along by the river, relaxing lots of bird life including the elusive Jay.Good parking locally, some very nice historical buildings to admire.
MoreVery beautiful area. Quiet. Not busy. Went in late November 2021.
Really cute deciduous woods with a few different trails.. dog friendly and some cute deers at the car park
MoreDid the long loop walk. Nice and easy, no steep hills. Met a good few families out walking with the dogs. Children enjoyed it, and loved seeing the deers. Walled garden must have been lovely in its day. Plenty of parking, and public toilets.
MoreBeautiful wooded walk and stunning buildings. Toilets very clean and baby deer were beautiful
MoreLove the woods, its a real adventure. Lots of happy birds singing. Delighted to see the resident reindeer looking very healthy at present.
MoreReally nice forest , place for a hike , plenty of places for picnics and free admission. Views are fab and deers can be seen .
MoreBeautiful nature walk, peace of mind
So peaceful. The boys had a ball building a bridge.
For anyone that likes walking this is a lovely place to visit. The walk we took was around the outskirt of the woods and it took 40min. There is a large variety of trees and a lovely peaceful feel to the place.
MoreLovely forest walks. Close to Kilkenny. Public restrooms. Didnt even mind that it was raining
MoreTwo walks, 3.3km and 2km. Fabulous walk. Coffee dock also. Lots of seats in main area and dotted around the walk. Car park isnt huge (theres 2but have never had issues finding parking. Pet friendly also.
MoreLovely mixed woods with pleasant walks and particularly delightful in May with bluebells and September with blackberries. Deers in enclosure, picnic table and toilet.

Beautiful walk on a beautiful day.
Lovely woodland walk. Two options available: one roughly 20 mins, and one 40 mins. We brought carrots with us to feed the deer (not wild). Loads of wildlife, plenty of birds, we got to see a red squirrel too.The walled gardens are perfect for a picnic, especially if the weather is nice.
MoreLovely wooded park. great walks lovely place to explore. take a picnic and pet the deer.
MoreSuch a lovely place to go for a relaxed walk or a picnic. There seemed to be space for everyone despite the car park looking fairly full. My kids loved it, my dog loved it and so did I.
MoreAlways love going here with the family. Different length walks that are perfect for buggys. Big green area where you can play ball, tag etc and sit and have a picnic. If youre lucky you might even get to see the deer. There are toilets but they are currently closed due to Covid-19.

MoreI love this wood, its absolutely beautiful and not commercialised, there are no shops but I saw a person selling coffee from a mobile coffee Dock which is nice, short and long walks, free parking
MoreLovely place to walk
Lovely walks, sadly much of the forest is absolutely covered with brambles so little chance to explore the woodland off path!Gorgeous greens at this time of the year and bluebells a few weeks ago.Dog walkers need to take their poo with them!
MoreA lovely family day out here
Lovely place for a family walk. Bring carrots to feed the deer!
Good place for a walk. We needed one hour to do the 4km loop.
Great for a walk. Can be mucky after lots of rain so bring appropriate clothing and footwear. No bins available so be prepared to bring any rubbish you have home.
MoreBeautiful little forest with walks ways and a walled part were deer is roaming free. Good for short walks, walking your dog or picnic with family.
