Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre - Cultural centre in Gold Coast, Australia
I bought a painting from this team when I visited and the experience was an issue from start to finish. I was visiting from the USA, was going to take the painting with me but they told me they could arrange postage and took 3 days to confirm what postage costs would be. Once confirmed I had to revisit as they kept spelling my email address wrong to send me the payment link. Then three weeks later when I am back home in the USA I tried to get the postage details from them as I hadnt heard anything from their team only to learn that the item hadnt been posted. The store team blamed the head office team, the usual run around.Eventually worked out that they hadnt actually spoken to Australia Post when quoting me postage rates, as they now couldnt post it. They were unable to find another company to do so and it ended in a refund. Not taking into account the international fees their screw up cost me.The biggest issue is that after I gave them hundreds of dollars and trusted them to deliver on their promise they never contacted me again. It was always me having to chase them. Really disappointed with this experience, it doesnt take a lot to keep your customers updated and I wish that was all they had done.
Informative and authentic. The knowledge of local country shared by Trish was outstanding.
I attended a walkabout tour today run by the lovely Trish . What a treasure of a human ! Knowledgeable , interesting and passionate . Highly recommend to all !
Very nice people to chat with. The tour is very informative. There is a lot of very nice art.
Great indigenous centre.
Im a carer for my partner whos currently on dialysis and has a service dog which is a little griffon x pug and one of your workers who was on a school trip with kids following her told my partner to leave the national park because dogs arent aloud after telling her it was a service dog and showing her the card thats under guide dogs Australia she then told me it should be wearing a vest after telling her it was wearing a vest and shes to little to see she then proceeded to yell at me and say in front of school kids "what does that dog even assist" I will be calling guide dogs Australia to get them to send out information and to better educate your staff on assistant and guide dogs especially when they should be taught when working at a national park anyway and when infront of children that would probably be learning and listening to everything this lady is saying to a person with an assistants dog not a very nice experience at all!!
I went there for a morning walk with my service dog there was a female staff member there with red hair who illegally discriminated agents me and my service dog when I provided my guide hearing and assistance dog card she continued to discriminate agents me and my dog which lead me to almost fall of the path with my service dog in my hands not professional. !!DISCRIMINATES AGENST SERVICE DOGS!!
Beautiful gallery of art, lots of stories of the past to understand and connect with this place.
Very interested to learn about our local culture
Had a lovely & interesting tour. The guide was amazing and super engaging. 10/10
Well worth your time to stop in.
I love to read about the Aboriginal history of the areas I vistit. Its sometimes hard to understand, because of my very different Scandinavian backrground. I really enjoy the Dreamtime stories. Artworks on display 👍Friendly staff 😃
Absolutely brilliant. Myself and some friends now dive nearby and clean rubbish out so we care for country. This place has significance and education holds the key to being part of the land again.
Through the organisation that I work for, we were offered the opportunity of a guided walk through Jellurgal Headland to learn a little about the Kombumerri culture as part of NAIDOC week. Also saw stingrays, kookaburras, and white bellied sea eagles during the walk. Definitely recommended.
Nice walk with calm people. 1.7km. Beautiful views of the coastline to the south.
Good spot if you can get a parking space!!
Great indigenous art ,beautiful friendly staff .great coffee

We have visited only the museum. It is accessible for wheelchairs. I have not seen a toilette. Souvenirs can be purchased and also ice-cream and soft drinks.
Great information from knowledgable friendly people.
Great place. A must visit.
Great place to visit. Awesome art and stories of local Yugambeh people. I will definitely have to do one of their tours.
It was a fantastic experience. I enjoyed learning about Australias history. Loved the wildlife.
Great place to take the family and learn about the real Australians.
Had an amazing tour by Anthony from the centre! We were lucky to be in a small tour with only 5 people so we could get such wonderful sharing and stories from our very knowledgeable guide. I feel like I really learnt so much more about aboriginal people after this tour! It’s been an eye opening experience!
Very interesting ! Thank you !
Never seen a black fella in 40 years in there until government gave them money must be ran of money already. there for two weeks and dont see again
Awkward to get to if you are coming by car.
Fantastic experience of Australian Aboriginal culture: arts, music, dance and stories! A walk on the old trail in the Country Park to learn the origins of aborigines was just marvellous

Beautiful bushwalk through Burleigh National Park while hearing about the Aboriginal history of the mountain and their cool Dreamtime stories. Every Australian needs to learn more about their Native people and what they have been through.
Like the place and friendly traditional Aussie people.
Great attention! 😊
Amazing little gallery, glad to take some local art back home with us.
You can experience something new here. This place is like a small dimension for you to explore, understand and respect the aboriginal culture in Australia. Totally recommended.
Beautiful experience, very welcoming. A great opportunity to take a walk along the water also.
Great place to connect to the history of the Gold Coast. Some great artworks and indigenous products. Nice touch to have a small coffee shop include.
Took a bus load of students for a day trip and they said they learned so much about aboriginal culture
We don,t give enough recognition in Australia to our indiginous heritage. If you are an Australian, Jellurgal and places like it are part of your culture.I can recommend you spending some time here, it may bring you closer to pur environment.
This was a profound and life changing experience, an immersion into country and the heartbeat of the resilient and beautiful first people of this land. Thank you Lexie for giving me a beautiful gentle space to listen and truly understand.
Heated swimming pool thats awesome advantage.
I was expecting staff more willing on engaging in conversation. The centre itself is ok
Fascinating place enjoy the dancers and boonerrang painting
I came here for the exhibit itself, to learn about Aboriginal culture. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because it’s very small (I wish it was a full-fledged large museum!), but they sure pack a lot into a small space to make it worth stopping in.First of all, it’s free!Second, a lot of beautiful, local, and native art adorns the walls.Third, great information panels on important historical figures that give perspective on the aboriginal experience.Fourth, a nice little faux-nature area with info about local wildlife.Lastly, plenty of cool local goodies to buy - from candles to backpacks to hand lotions! Highly recommended to spend an hour or two perusing everything and buying a trinket to support aboriginal culture and awareness.
I thought it was not interesting I thought that the dance was wierd
A great experience going on the walkabout at 9:30!Got to learn about the beautiful culture from the people thamselfs.Lexene was our guide and did an amazing job.Thank you
