Jeffery's in Santa Cruz

Food was very good and made perfectly. Our waitress (missed her namehas worked there for 42 years and it shows. She was very attentive and quick on her feet. Will definitely be coming back!

Service is Great and the food is even better

This place is amazing!!! If you want a quiet place to sit down and have a home cooked meal, this is the place to come! Luckily we found this place still open since lots of places in Santa Cruz close early. It was so good the first time we ended up going back the next day for a early dinner before heading back home for our 16 hour drive. The food was amazing, ribeye was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes were on point. I still have a favorite place of course there in Cruz, but this is a close very very close to them. The people there are humble and attentive, always making sure your ok, but not to much, but enough to where you feel youve known them forever! Yes... we will be going back there to eat. Amazing so around!!!

I went with 4 friends and the bill was just over 100 good price. The food is always great. Our server Alex was the best. She was so funny and also attentive. I have zero complaints. Love this place.

Good food but a little too pricey for what is standard American comfort food. Waiters are all very nice.

Had lunch with my family here, the food was “alright”. Definitely not worth its price whatsoever. The employees were really rude, and kept just cussing and socializing to the point where they were the only things you could hear throughout the whole restaurant. Also, the waiter was very rude, when my little brother asked if he could have more chocolate milk, he yelled “NO REFILLS!! YOU PAY FOR MORE” to the point where my little brother wanted to cry. I recommend you go somewhere else. Terrible quality food, comically bad service, and unjustified outrageous prices.

This place believes they are a fine dining restaurant. Unfortunately, their prepared food tastes like a low end Dennys food.The capucinos tasted like instant coffee with whipped cream. The potatoes tasted like deep fried crispy chunks. No seasoning.Omelette tasted pretty good but waaaay overpriced.Not bad, but overpriced.The waitresses were very polite and helpful. I give the customer service 5 stars.Food preparation and deliciousness would be an average 3 stars.I would rate the prices at 1 star.The cleanliness was disgusting. There was an over powering urine smell from both bathrooms. The floors were disgusting and dirty. The toilet seats in both bathrooms were gross. There was urine all over the seats and all around the toilet and urinals. The floors were muddy, sticky and disgusting.If the staff, wont clean the bathrooms, how well are they cleaning the kitchenI would rate the cleanliness of this place as 1 star.So, the total rating for the restaurant is 2 stars.

I bring my kids almost every weekend for chocolate shakes. This time I was not happy.And it was because of the younger waiter, white kid around 30. Saturday night.He shorted us bigtime, even my kids were shocked at how small they were. We usually order two shakes they split one shake into three for my boys. And I drink one, and give them some of mine as well, because historically they are allways so generous and even leave the metal tin container with extra in it...This kid gave us about a 1/3 of what every other waiter or waitress gives. I immediately ordered a 3rd shake, didnt say a thing. My.kids did though lightly.Afterwards he comes back with another small portion, and says to me "I know the portions were small so this one is free"Im like you still havent given us what every other awesome worker gives us. 🤷‍♂️ Still less than two shakes from the others.If he is there next time, I will specifically ask for someone else, or I will leave. Bs

Staff always friendly and happy. Wide assortment of choices on menu. I have been going there for 25 years. One of the staff has been the longer than that. He is friendly always with a smile as all the staff. Reasonable prices.

This was a cafe much like Dennys, if youre familiar with that restaurant chain. The breakfast was okay and not super expensive. If youre going sightseeing this is a good place to fuel up.

Hubby and I stopped in while passing through town and shared the Denver omelet... it was delicious! 4 egg omelet was perfect size for us to share. Our server was kind, friendly and efficient as well

I normally go to Dennys on Ocean Street for some odd reason Dennys is closed. Couldnt find anything on Google for an explanation. That lead me to seek a new breakfast spot Jefferys. Thank you Dennys for closing. Im now on going to this gem. Its off the beaten path more of a hidden treasure. Great breakfast food at very reasonable prices. Service was very friendly and unintrusive. Clean inside and out. I went at 9 am not busy but it started to get busy around 10ish.

Just had a great late breakfast here. Very fair prices. I got the Ultimate combo, prepared quickly and deliciously! Wait staff was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Made you feel like a friend and family.Your bathroom needs help. Only criticism.

Walked in at 10pm hours say they close at 10:30pm .. server say you have 10 min then we are closed . I said you close at 10:30 right he said NO.. WE CLOSE AT 10. Mind you door were open at 10:00 when we walked in . So anyway he says we have to take our food to go . Even tho there were 8 other people sitting down eating. My wife ordered a club sandwich extra toasted... what she got was a barely toasted bread and some overcooked burnt French fries.... So my opinion go eat somewhere else that treats the customer right.... we will never return to this place..

This delicious gem 💎 you see before you is a banana 🍌 nut waffle 🧇 😋. And it is delicious soo good! I have been here about 4 times I think now and not once have I been disappointed. The fried shrimp platter is also very good highly recommend with rice pilaf. They have several options to choose from and reasonable prices. The service is good as well definitely give it a try!

Been coming here since I was in high school in the 90s. Food is good and portions are large. What I love best about this place is that its exactly the same as is was back then.

I love a "greasy spoon" place and this spot hasnt changed, as you can tell from the faded sign. prices are great for what you get, except for the monte cristo sandwich, which is the best Ive ever had anywhere.

At first, I thought this is a good restaurant because I went there earlier and the service was pretty good.But this time, I couldn’t use the bathroom peacefully because not only did the customers kept knocking the door, the wait staff was knocking , too; despite the fact that I literally just went in there. The waitress claimed that there was a line waiting but there’s only one guy waiting for WASH HIS HANDS.Although the other customers were at fault for complaining (the other customer was being melodramatic and claimed that I’ve been in the bathroom for over 30 mins, which is obviously a lie, I believe the waiters could have handle the situation better than they did.

We got breakfast and lunch to try out this place and if I could give it a 10 I would. The food was amazing definitely will be returning when Im in the area

I was very surprised at how many dishes were available on the menu. The food was fresh and tastey. Our server was a nice man who took VERY good care of us. It was about $100 for 5 adults with full entrees ,drinks and dessert. We will for sure be back.

This is now the worst place ever 3 separate tables walked out today because of what I had found in the bathroom and the confrontation I had with their waitress and the owner. And I didnt know any of these people do not eat hard this this is a disease infested dirty horrible place. It used to be good it is not any more.

We went yesterday we took a table and setting the Seat of the booth was greasy food the floor around the table was dirty with pieces of bread, salad and who know what more. Before to strat and order we decided to leave and nobody bothered to ask why? How can anyone in a restaurant like that?

We just had a very wonderful experience and have found a new favorite in Santa Cruz. The service was very friendly and fast. From walking in the door to our delicious food served was only 15 minutes. Our server Lisa was very attentive and made the experience feel like we were family. Food was fresh and more than adequate proportions. Overall exceptional experience.

Fun diner with a huge selection of classical dishes and great service. The kids menu is great with big, tasty dishes. A few more vegetarian entrees would have been nice.

If youre in a hurry and want just an average breakfast this is the spot for you. Nothing fancy about the food just tasted average. Only big thing I want to point out is the cleanliness of the bathroom. Definitely needs work on that. Staff is pretty friendly. I just wouldnt recommend coming here unless youre super hungry.

The food was just alright and the customer service was really lacking. We had to ask several times for refills as the waitress did not come back and ask if we needed anything. When being seated, the host pointed to a booth for us to sit, then dropped off menus and walked away. It just didn’t feel like a welcoming environment, coupled with having to wait quite a while to place our order and receive the food.

The service was excellent, unfortunately the food did not live up to the reviews for this restaurant . I took my family of 6 here after reading the great reviews. My wife ordered the beef stir fry,as did my daughter and I. My 2 sons had burgers which they said was pretty good. My wife and daughter found the stir fry to be fatty and overcooked. 120 dollar dinner bill could have been better spent at a different place. The mens bathroom looked like a hurricane hit it. Filthy is the best way to describe it. Paper towels on the floor, dirty muddy floor. Dont recommend this place, and dont believe the positive reviews either.

IThis place is a lot different than other diners that I have been to. The food was fresh and the staff is great. I had a monté Cristo. Boy it was great.

Serving up diner classics 24 hours a day!Plenty of comfy seating inside. Soft lighting, always seems to have people here. Nice cozy feel, good for groups or solo dining.Warm syrup and whipped butter served with French toast and pancake items. I got the blueberry pancakes, 4 large pancakes served in the short stack. Added peanut butter on the side and fresh strawberries for $1.75. Loaded with blueberries, I felt so satisfied.Matt got the French toast and a side of scrambled egg and hash browns. Everything is portioned big and you leave feeling happy.This is a gem of a spot and I’m so glad they’re open all the time! Plenty of free parking in their lot.

The restaurant was dirty. The table I sat at was sticky and the silverware at the place settings was actually dirty as well. Food from a past meal was still stuck, caked on, to a few spoons (pictures attached). The wait staff also didnt acknowledge my presence nor that of my friends for nearly 20 minutes. The people at a neighboring table also left after not being served for a similar amount of time. It was an Unpleasant experience and will be dining elsewhere in the future

The servers were unprofessional! It took 20 minutes for her to come and take our orders, when she finally came over we started to order the server looked at us and said that she wasnt ready to take our orders and then walked away. When we finally order it took 25 minutes to get our food. To make this trip even worst after I finished eating I saw that there was a bug on my plate and my water cup was dirty! I will never eat here again.
