THEY SHOULD USE STAINLESS STEEL VAALI, CONTAINER, BUCKET TO BRING THE SAMBAR, RASAM FROM THE KITCHEN TO DINING AREA INSTEAD OF USING USED PLASTIC PAINT BASKETS.***FOOD IS NOT CLEAN HERE!***I HAD A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE RELATED TO HYGIENE TODAY. I ORDER A DOSAI AND FOUND A CORN EARWORM 🐛INSIDE THE SAMBAR CURRY.

I Had a very bad experience related to hygiene today, i order one cup tea and the tea cup was not cleaned properly also found a piece of steel wool inside the cup, very disgusting. reported to the owner with evidence.

Authentic and tasty South Indian food can be bought here. The restaurant is located in two floors and run for almost 5 generations. Ample serving staffs available and quick service.They have A’lacarte menu for breakfast and also buffet for lunch.They serve traditional dosa / Idly / Upma / Rice items etc. The taste is authentic and can’t be missed by food lovers. The food is affordable and lot of choices. There is no parking nearby however it’s worth waiting and visiting the place with family.Enjoy the traditional south Indian in Colombo.

My go to spot to have a small meal is definitely Jaya Gandhi Lodge. If your a big fan of vegetarian definitely a place to check the foods out. The staff was very friendly and so nice. You could fill up your belly within a reasonable budget. Even-though it’s a busy place they give good attention to all their customers. The Thoosa was so good with all those mixes. Definitely a place to Che k out.

Best and economical for South Indian foods in Wellawatta Colombo. One has many options here. Portions are also very fullfilling. Should use less polythene bags for takeout

Tasty vegetarian food for affordable (according to Sri Lankas current situation 😂price.If you are planning to have dinner as dine-in, I would suggest to go bit early from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM or After 8:00 PM. Problem in visiting here after 8:00 PM is you want have much of choice to select.There are many variations to try. For the first time visitors, I would suggest them to try PITTU KOTHTHU.

I am a graphic designer, I was once asked by them to make a logo, I made the logo and the client was very happy with the logo too. The client was referred by a known associate so I did not feel the need to draw up paperwork and in the end they ghosted me and did not pay a single penny. I cannot even meet them in person as I live in another city, will not recommend this place.

This place can be bit of a hit or miss. I have ordered from them several times in the recent past. They lack consistency however when they get it right its the best tasting Indian food. Most recently ordered Poori and Masala Dosa. Masala Dosa was a tad bit burnt but it was still good. If they can be more consistent it would definitely be 5 stars.

Being a regular customer for more than 7 years, I would say one of the best affordable vegetarian restaurant with constant quality with fast moving foods around Colombo South West. Prices are affordable, they have their own delivery addition to the popular food delivery options. They will have variety of food, but will suggest to stick on with the fast moving and common food type to experience the quality. Car parking will be a problem as this is situated in a busy spot in Wellawatta. But you can always park the car in one of the lanes by.

One of the cheapest veg hotels in wellawatte to eat. Food waiter/cleaners much be trained a lot to be keep the place clean and tidy.lack of hygienic. Few days back around 7.30pm saw a waiter washing the emptied chutney dish with the sponge that was soaked in the hand wash basin( where all clean their hands and split)and again refill the new chutney on it. Last month a non paid eater was catch hold by the cashier and bitten heavily by all staffs in front of all public rather than handing him over to police.

Place is not attractive at all, but superb taste vegetarian food at very low cost. You cnt find any other good place in Wellawatta except this. I dnt forget to go and have breakfast or lunch with their delicious tea whenever I go to Wellawatta.

Nice vegetarian food mostly served hot hot. Cleanliness is 50% and that all you can get from a SME business owner. However the food is tasty and fresh but customer service is not appreciable at all. No wonder if you are not treat well its just very casual in a "Saivar Kade". Way to go.

Awsome place for vegetarian lovers. They have buffet during the lunch in the 1st floor of the restaurant. It costs only Rs.180 per person. can u believe that? Buffet for 180?They are serving papadam and uludu wade also with the lunch buffet.In ground floor you can have more items like short eats, biriyani, dose and etc.

Best place to eat proper Tamil Sri Lankan vegetarian rice and curry. The price is economical for a buffet. Though the place is small or not so tidy still worth a try for the taste. Delicious!!

Pure-Veg restaurant with mostly South-Indian style dishes. Food though bland, is quite tasty & reasonably priced. Staff are simple, dont talk much & converse mainly in local languages. They try their best to keep the place clean, but difficult due to the nature of the crowd.

Food is good. Its ok for takeaway but if you want to sit there and eat. The waiters will make you wait. They even play monopoly like: "wait or move on to another place". No friendly face. If you want to order for another food when you are seated or another plate, you should expect to wait another 10 min. Overall this restaurant doesnt care about the customer satisfaction about the way the waiters service.

What a gem to stumble across this was for me! The food is top quality and the owner was such a genuinely amazing person. He helped me with the menu to decide to get in English and then we had a great chat even though it was a busy environment. Highly recommend a visit here. Food and service perfect. Doesnt get better! If you are looking for a vegetarian food for a cheap price, then this is the place to go. Cost per individual will be around 200 LKR. They have varieties of choices all the time. They have different varieties of rice during the lunch time such as Curd rice, lemon rice, brinjal rice, vegetable mix rice, and cost for a portion is 140LKR - 180 LKR. Negative points of the places - always crowded, noisy, its hard to dine in without getting sweat (too hot inside)

The upstairs lunch buffet is the best! Went there on a Sunday when they had white rice, red rice, biryani and uppuma, yellow dal of course plus eggplant/chickpea curry, chunky spicy potato and green vegetable curry, along with papad, curd and sweet chutney. Definitely worth a detour.

My old local fave. Downstairs is tacky plasticky fast food / take out but the lunch buffet upstairs in the kind of "family area" is an epic (actualself serve feast for 170rs
