Landscaped gardens designed in the 19th century offering fountains, paths & Douro River views.
Beautiful serene park with flowers in bloom, peacocks, views of the river Douro and a kids playground. Can totally spend more than a few hours immersing yourself in the serenity.
Favorite place in Porto! Nice big park with gorgeous views of Porto (not to mention in different angles). So much space and greens to just hang out, chill with friends, enjoy a picnic! A lot of animals roaming around like peacocks and ducks. Park is really big so there’s so much different spaces and areas to hang out in. Beautiful views!!
This place is amazing. I enjoy having my morning coffee ans sitting on the benches watching the roosters and peacocks or going to one of several look out points admiring the river and scenery
Nice park with fantastic views over the city, worth a trip for the view alone. Great to see also some chickens with their newborns, and also other wildlife like peacocks. The dome building is not worth looking in as its just an events space with food vendors.
Free entry to beautiful gardens with breathtaking views of Porto.Even better when you can watch the mist rolling in along the Douro River.Dont forget your camera or youll regret it.Also plenty of cafes and other food outlets.
Beautiful garden to wander, enjoy a picnic, read a book or enjoy a drink and a meal at the Arena. Play area for children and multiple restroom/WC locations. Its quite large, so even on a busy Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of areas with few people around.Lovely gardens and some river views as well.
It’s a pleasant surprise - not expecting there are such a variety of little gardens with different styles on the steep slopes facing the river, and not expecting finding so many locals using it as picnic spot to celebrate occasions. It’s elaborate and unassuming at the same time, which I constantly find in Portugal. As the sun sets, the view of dense fog from the ocean dancing with the sun light with ever-changing color, now covering the Arabida bridge, now revealing it, should be an iconic view of the city.
Where is the palace? I kept looking for it but I couldn’t find it. Instead I was greeted by a HUGE dome. It was worth it though, the views of the Douro River where beautiful! The gardens were a bit run down on the side of the dome. There where also a lot of beautiful peacocks, little chicks, chickens and roosters running around.
Lovely park and gardens with a beautiful view. There’s a miradouro for €12.50 but there’s a view for free right from the park.
Pretty cool. Very nice park, the paths in the back give you views of the water. Nice and peaceful place.
A lovely park with many gorgeous views over the city. Very pretty in the afternoon. There are also peacocks that you can see around the park.
Beautiful park, shaded areas and lots of seats. Very lively - they had a book market going on when we went. Lots of concerts and various free attractions.
Gardens of Crystal Palace is very beautiful park, especially during the golden hour. Make sure to watch sunset from here (right side from the entrance), where river and ocean connection is visible very well and its mesmerizing.Park is full of peacocks and chickens, which is very authentic as well. The only disadvantage ia that its small in size.
I ended up in this place by chance the last day of my Porto city visit. It has been a very pleasant visit. The Jardins was hosting the "Feira do Livro", the reason we ended up in the place, and it was very well organized and full of bookshops showcasing and selling their books. The Jardins hosts also the city library which in this event was freely accessible. The Jardins by itself are well curated with coloured flowers and stunning view on Duero river and the city side.If you are scared by big birds, which Im not, you should probably skip the Jardins since it hosts some chickens, peacocks and some other birds, that walk freely in the park.
Beautiful and scenic place with great overview of the city. You can walk under the shadow of the trees, make some drone videos or just relax on grass and many benches. Lot of birds and ideal for families.
Huge grounds. The location encourages relaxation. The entrance is quite picturesque with lots of well manicured flowers, shrubs and bushes. A few water fountains with statures. Past the entrance are more grounds with no flowers and manicured lawns. There are chickens and birds strolling around. For a relaxed day, I will recommend this place.
These are beautiful gardens with lots to do. Offers beautiful view of the city where you can watch sunrise. You can also see lots of peacocks hanging around the area.Sometimes there’s shows going on in the area.
Nice place at Superbock arena. Nice viewing spot for the sunset. Some peacocks walk around with their chicks. Nice gardens around the arena.
The Porto Beer Fest was so much fun! We moved here about 4 months ago and we were told about this festival that was a short walk from our apartment. We paid $5 for a glass and you could choose any kind of beer to put in that class. Prices ranged from 2.50€ to about 5.50€ per beer. The music was great! There were a decent amount of food trucks available as well. Even though it was a beer fest, there were some ciders and meads available. It was very nice speaking to all of the owners and workers of the various breweries and finding out more about each one of them. The breweries were not just from Portugal. We ended up going 2 days in a row and enjoyed every minute! Highly recommend!
I really liked the gardens, even tho its not that big there ist so much variety. You have a wonderful view of the city und the douro at many stations of the gardens. And there are a lot of peacocks I actually never saw more in one place! As I were there they even had babies which was a special thing to experience for me. Only negative I see is the Pavilhão Rosa Mota because it is just ugly. I dont know why they destroyed the Palácio de cristal to build that thing. In my opinion you shouldnt pay to go up there because if you walk a little bit through Porto you will have a lot of (better and free of chargeviews of the city than from there. Nevertheless these gardens were one of my favorite things to visit in Porto!
Love this place. So peaceful with beautiful views. Well-maintained and so fun during the “Essência do Vinho” wine festival in July. If you have never been here, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit.
What an amazing experience Jardins do Palácio de Cristal is. If you want a calm morning or relax and do a walk after lunch, being in contact with nature and animals, this place is like a sanctuary.
Great for all the family, plenty of shade. Alex gave us a great tour of the Super Bock area. Loved it.
beautiful place to explore with a beautiful view overlooking the ribeira and douro river, there’s even peacocks walking around!
The first part of the park is just okay, but head towards the back and the views are gorgeous! Sunset would be amazing to see. There are peacocks around and some amazing picture opportunities.
A beautiful park to relax and wander under a canopy of trees. The views of the river Douro are breathtaking. Well worth the visit.
Nice park with the beautiful view to the river Douro. A lot of trees and shadow that is very helpful in hot days. What I like here most are beautiful peacocks. They do not afraid people, so you can take a lot of photos easily when they are in good mood :)
The gardens are beautiful and the view is fantastic. Peacocks, roses, water lilies, trees and cute chickens. A great place to spend a few hours just relaxing.
Great view of the Douro and really nice gardens. Must see in Porto. It is close to downtown (walking distancebut you do not see that many tourists around. Lots of ups and downs, so be careful if you have mobility issues. Be on the lookout for a flock of peacocks that live in the park. Oh, and there is a nice library in the park... great for kids.
Very pleasant park with a beautiful view on the Douro. The place is a bit far from the city centre, but its soothing atmosphere is great nonetheless.
Cute park with an arena in the centre of it. Some lovely views of the city from there. Peacocks roam around.
The place was absolutely amazing with Flaura and Fauna! Its better to visit in the evening. Since its free entry we can walk about within the compound and felt much more relaxed than usual parks.
A very nice and big parc with a good overview of Porto. You can see some nice flowers, trees and animals, water, a theater, playground..... But dont expect anything totally extraordinary.
This place is amazing!! Great views of the city, wonderful birds, and very well kept gardens. There are several sections and styles including a rose garden and a small church. It was really peaceful after several days exploring the city. They had chickens and peacocks which was really fun!
Oh my god! One of the best place that I visited in Porto! Lots of nature, flowers, trails. There are some animals like beautiful peacocks or roosters. There are some beautiful landscapes, statues, fountains. Top spot!
Amazingly well kept gardens and beautiful wildlife! Would definitely recommend a walk around the area.
Gorgeous park with wonderful views! Throughout the park you can spot peacocks, roosters, and ducks. They are so beautiful! I visited in mid March and it the park was full of tulips and other types of spring flowers. The smell was heavenly. In the afternoon I ate a chicken sandwich in the food court area. Very good experience if you’re looking for a nice day in the park or just a quick stroll.
A magnificent and enormous garden. It has a belvedere overlooking the river. A green space ideal for relaxing, strolling and taking beautiful pictures. While you are walking you will discover old fountains and sculputures.
Nice parc with stunning view across the city and the River. The only problem is to go there by foot you need to walk a lot of stairs and way up, but if you made it you got that stunning view. We did not find any toilets in the parc.
If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful place for a walk, contemplation, reading a book or even watching a beautiful sunset: this is the right place to go.You will find peacocks wandering by the fountains and the lawn. It’s definitely a beautiful experience. Also, if you walk a little bit more into the Jardins do Palácio, you will find a breathtaking view of the city. It is a nice place to take picture of the landscape or even selfies!
Beautiful well looked after park for a walk or a picnic. You can spot peacocks, chickens and roosters running around. We visited in the middle of March during the tulip bloom time, I say the gardens look more beautiful late spring and early summer. Very relaxing place, highly recommend visiting it.
Very nice and lovely gardens with free access not too far from the historic centre. There is food (and coffeeavailable to buy in the arena and free toilets just on the back of the arena. Nice scenic spots to take pictures of the river from the top as well.
Gorgeous large park with stunning views of Porto! A ton to see and walk around to wonder with lakes, workout, and playing areas. And an abundance of photo taking areas overlooking the River. Not to mention the multiple clusters of tulips that are incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend for tourists.
Beautiful gardens overlooking the Douro river, with nice views on Porto and Gaia. Great spot to chill, read a book, sunbathe, have a picnic with friends and children.
Peaceful and beautiful! Great spot for meditation and exercises. Sometimes on the weekend, it can be slightly crowded, even though it is still possible to enjoy the park. I just think that the parking 🅿️ should be a bit cheaper, but its not that bad either. Watching the sunset here is superb also it is extremely safe.
The Best free entrance public garden/park in Porto for me. Walking distance from city centre, Great view points, green trees and various flowers also in January (for me so refreshing and relaxing as in my home January is usualy snow and freezing weather), spacious and cosy, privacy, for everybody, small playground for children, various terrace places for picnic, reading, fountains small lakes. toilets are available. I really enjoyed 3 hours visit and can recommend take a piknic basket with you in sunny day.
The gardens were great even though the roses were not blossom. It was winter. The park is beautiful. The views are great. It is a peaceful place to enjoy nature.
A short walk from the main tourist part of Porto. Lovely walk round the gardens, with lots of peacocks wandering around. Nice views up and down the valley
Beautiful garden, where you can see a lot of birds - peacocks, geese, hens, roosters ducks. The entrance is for free and you can enjoy several different incredible views at Porto city. Worth to visit.
This is a large park and events center. I’ve been many days this summer to enjoy walks, peacocks, ice cream, laying in the lawn and exploring the beautiful nooks and crannies. There’s music each month according to a genre and the book fair is here annually which is really fun. There’s also a contemporary art museum with wonderful changing exhibitions and friendly kind staff. Everything here is magical, go at sun set for incredible views over the douro’s bridges and great people watching. They close once it is dark. They let service dogs but might now allow your pet.
