Guided tours are given at a 17-acre botanical garden with a greenhouse & rare continental plants.
Amazing specimens from all over the world. Different areas of the park are separated into areas of the world. Good signage on the plant names too! I wish the greenhouses were open, but they were all closed.
Enjoyed our recent visit to the Jardín Botánico. It’s a beautiful spot - perfect for a morning walk or quiet place to read. I was sad that the butterfly house and other buildings were only open on weekends but I suppose it gives us a reason to return. My only other complaint is that the exits aren’t clearly marked. It’s a huge garden and there are two exits supposedly yet we couldn’t find signs for one of them anywhere and ultimately had to walk back to the entrance to leave. Regardless, this place is definitely worth a visit!
Beautiful place and is free!!!
Beautiful place to visit in Buenos Aires! All the flowers and plants in one place
I wanted to rate it 4stars, becouse of some locations was closed, but hope it Will be opened when you Come to see it.
Its small but very beautiful and peaceful.
A wonderful and peaceful respite in the middle of Buenos Aires City. A large variety of plants for all over the world. This is worth visiting whenever you are in the city. Its a 20minutes walk from Palermo soho
I have been visiting the gardens for over 15 years and have observed the steady progress that has been made to finish areas of the gardens that needed to be reworked. Its now complete and even more spectacular. Its an opportunity to return to nature in the middle of the city. Combined with its neighbor, the Eco Park, Its offers a 100% break from the daily grind. Go, you will be instantly engulfed in green serenity.
Its a beautiful place to take a stroll and enjoy nature. Theres no entrance fee. The best time to visit is during spring and summer, September to February.
Well maintained, nice to get away from the noise of the street
Excellent place to get in touch with nature and get to know different plants from all over the world. Calm environment and family friendly. Bike park at the entrance offers some security.
A little slice of botanical paradise inside the city of bustling Buenos Aires.
Beautiful spot for a walk. If you’re in the neighbourhood it’s worth grabbing a coffee and following all the meandering paths through the garden.
Very nice botanical garden , admission is free.Great location for taking pictures.Lots of mosquitoes and bees.
Beautiful place to relax and breath pure air.
Lovely garden in the city, open free to everyone. Full of paths and benches for wandering around and/or contemplating nature, and the many sculptures that decorate the park. Highly recommended. Go with time and relaxed. If you like taking photos, thats the right place.
Larger than what it seems from the map. They are different regions for different parts of the world with plants typical for the area. Thanks to the trees a lot of the park is in shade and thus nice for walking around even in the heat.
Nice to spend time there and admire the creation 🙏
Beautiful garden in the city. Free admission. Generally quiet and easy to navigate.Multiple dirt (non pavedtrails. Lots of shaded areas and benches to sit. A collection of statues are placed throughout the park.Easy access via public transport. Additional garden areas are nearby.
It reminds me It’s bigger on the inside. A well designed garden that you won’t be bored
It’s a beautiful escape within the big city of Buenos Aires. You can enjoy different plants from all over Argentina and it’s a great way to connect with nature.
The garden is perfectly splendid, but what I really enjoyed the most today, was the company ☺️
Love this place. I visit it as many times as possible. Worthy to visit
One of the most beautiful places you can visit for free
I LOVE this garden!.its sooooo sprecial!!.
A beautiful garden where you can walk on many slightly gravel trails. Beautifully laid out with many benches where you can sit in the sun or shade. Beautiful flowers, trees, and butterfly garden. Very quiet and peaceful. Convenient bathrooms too. A nice way to spend a morning or afternoon to relax.
This is one of the nicest places to visit in the city. There are bathrooms inside and the entrance is free. If you go, bring a book to read and enjoy your time.
It is a really nice Botanical garden. You feel like you are far away from the city (except the part close the the main roadWe were there during the weekend. It was hard to find a nice spot to sit, but still it didn’t bother me at all. I am sure during the week early in the morning it would be lovely. It became one of my favorite place in BA. There are pretty green houses for different plants inside and you can spot cute birds.
One of the many many parks in BA. This one is particularly worth visiting as it is a very well laid out botanical garden. The lay out is per global region, so you can visit specific botonical areas of interest. The park has only one entrance/exit so youll need to plan your visit/walk a bit. Recommended!
A really nice free activity on a sunny day. We went on a weekend when there was a small market going on with flowers, snacks, and homemade crafts for sale.
Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays, is one of the most beautiful parks in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It’s a whole park with a lot of nature where you can read a book and relax. There you can share with all you family and be in a good environment. Here you don’t see anyone drinking alcohol or doing bad stuff. Also, you can bring your dog and give him a walk. Personally this parks it’s highly recommended, and it’s very beautiful with sculptures include and it has a butterfly garden inside the park. It’s a peaceful place
Relaxing botanical garden broken up into different geographic regions. Entry is free, it takes around an hour to walk round. There is a large number of statues dotted round as well. There is a greenhouse, but it is not always open.
I loved it! Very well organized in the center of Buenos Aires
There are lots of statues, and the paths are well laid out. Its not huge, but a pleasant spot to be in nature in the middle of a giant city. The park is also dotted with beautiful old-school sculptures that provide excellent photo opportunities. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the area. The glasshouse has some wonderful bromeliads. Overall, its great!
I was impressed of how beautiful is this place and its totally free!
Lovely and peaceful green oasis in the heart of the city! Magnificent architecture and design + very well maintained, certainly worth a visit
Wonderful Garden within the CABA area, very well maintained, peaceful, soothing appeal to your eyes with all its greenery and fresh oxygen to boost your energy... The place is also surrounded by good restaurants, coffee shops like Havanna, pizza centres and the planetarium ia walkable distance
Gorgeous.Verdant, varied, with plenty of benches and quiet corners to soak up natures goodness and a respite from the concrete, commercial goods, and busy rush of the city.Birdsong and rustling leaves, colorful flowers and delicate butterflies transport you far away.
The botanical garden is a nice place for a stroll in the middle of the city. The glass house which is close to the entrance is quite old and you should go inside, if it is open. On mondays the garden is closed.
A very nice green space to come and relax from the heat of the city. Home to many South American Flora it covers an area of over 7 Hectares. It is also free to visit.
A little public place in the citys heart, check out the collection of cactuses and succulents, although the greenhouses are closed you can see the whole collection. Its very friendly and they have a lot of benchs for you to sit and relax.
It was a bit of searching for the entrance and certainly because the garden only has one. nevertheless, once inside we have greatly enjoyed this large, beautiful and well maintained botanical garden. The ideal place to escape the bustle of this beautiful city in the shade on a bench with a book.
An enjoyable place to visit and to step away from the busy streets of Buenos Aires. Beautiful old green houses and for an European, some exotic plants and flowers to observe. Enjoyed a bit of the silence and freshness being surrounded by this beautiful garden. Definitely recommendable for a couple of hours tranquility before heading back to the pulsating streets.
Speechless... My God...Beautiful Place...in the middle of the Buenos Aires City..Green everywhere.... Jardin Botanico Carlos Thays unique Master Piece ..founded 120 years ago..its Treasure ..for Young and Adult People.. Very nice Variety of trees and plants for 5 Continents..and let me tell you something else.... Its very Romantic atmosphere.. Everywhere ...
The Buenos Aires Botanical Garden (official name in Spanish: Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Airesis a botanical garden located in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires in Argentina. The garden is triangular in shape, and is bounded by Santa Fe Avenue, Las Heras Avenue and República Árabe Siria Street. The garden, which was declared a national monument in 1996, has a total area of 6.9772 ha (0.026939 sq mi; 17.241 acres), and holds approximately 5,500 species of plants, trees and shrubs, as well as a number of sculptures, monuments and five greenhouses.
The gardens are a decent size, not too big to wonder around in a reasonable length of time.Sadly this is not the best botanical gardens weve seen by any means, its nice and pleasant but overall we were quite disappointed. There are some nice areas of the grounds but the vast majority is just green plants, trees or scrubs. It may be due to the time of year we visited but there was very little colour around with the exception of a few small sections. Its surrounded closely by roads so no matter where you sit there is noise from the activity of those streets. I did like this place but its nothing special unfortunately, nice enough for a visit and wonder around for an hour or so. If you bring a picnic make sure to stay off the grass and to the benches and paths. Enjoy!
This is a relaxing and beautiful place. It is surrounded on all sides by heavily trafficked streets. However, once inside it is serene.
Excellent for a walk/read/relax surrounded by nature. Beautifully lanscaped. The small childrens library was a hit with our 3 year old son.
Perfect place to read a book or have a nice and quiet conversation in peace, and if you are a plant enthusiast, you will always find a surprise.
Beautiful area thats worth visiting. Free entrance which is nice and plenty of lovely places to sit and read a book or relax. Some homeless, but overall feels pretty safe. Great for photos!
