Sushi, Japanese kitchen entrees & bento boxes served in a snug, wood-lined space with a patio.
Best sushi in Town!Absolute must😀
We ordered some Korean dishes. Very generous portions and good food. Recommended.
The best around the best there ever was wow guys great food great portion and the price is OK too yay
I came here a year ago, it was great, this time, not so much. The sashimi was ok, but limited in terms of choice. 10 PCs, most of it was very fatty salmon. The unagi roll, lacked flavour and didnt hold together, visually unappealing. Fell apart in the plate, what a mess. The Japan Go roll, not sure who eats that, I couldnt, it was covered in what I could only guess was, I cant even guess really. Was it drowning in the sauce to hide the fact that the rolls didnt hold together and ....Ill stop there. I managed to eat one piece, they charged me for the whole thing, even having sent it back almost immediately.Super disappointed, I do not recommend this place anymore.
My favourite Sushi place in Moncton! Always fresh, thick cut sashimi, great vibe.
I took my wife here for our anniversary. The food was amazing. Great quality and it was prepared in a timely manner. The presentation was amazing as well. The service was very good. The establishment was clean. The bathroom was ok but could of been cleaner. Their patio is nice and well spaced out. I would most definitely recommend this for any sushi fans.
Staff was friendly and the sushi was good. The apatizers were okay, was hoping for something like a Bento box and for the main courses to include miso and salad though
The food was delicious! I took chicken fried rice and some karaage chicken with sweet chili sauce and spicy mayo it was so goood!! Definitely coming back. Also, staff is so sweet and friendly great experience ☺️
I love the ramen at JapanGo, its tasty, a nice portion and deliciously spicy (seriously gotta try the spicy one, but then again Im a lover of spicy food haha so maybe keep it simple if you are not used toand the ambiance here is always calm and relaxed. I have been at this place a couple of times for either dinner or lunch and it never disappoints. A great ramen for sure and the staff is always friendly. What you see in my photos is the chicken ramen and the veggie ramen, and a little snap shot of the inside of the restaurant, but in a nice weather day my husband and I enjoy sitting in their patio. Also worth mentioning their sushi is DELICIOUS, the fried sushi is my favorite and I have found is one of the cheaper ones in town. One roll of my favorite avocado cucumber sushi is about 6 bucks for an eighth-piece roll and two bucks more if you want it fried.I recommend this place for sure!
Top quality food for top quality blokes, deserving of a top quality review.
This was my first time at this spot. Walked in right at opening to order a take out order. Also 4 other people came at two different tables. Had to wait just over an hour and half for my food. Longest Ive ever I had to wait for sushi in my life!! They said it would be 20 minutes.. both these tables came in after me, ordered after me, but got their food before mine. Wasnt too impressed about that!! I ordered Surf Clam Sushi they gave me Octopus Sushi.. After driving an hour home, what are I am supposed to do. Little disappointed. That all said. Sushi was good. Ill go back to give another chance eventually!!
Wow! Their food is quality. Their service is stellar. Try their chicken fried rice that’s my favourite. Their salmon sashimi is like butter and melts in your mouth. Great beer selection. I live in Moncton and frequent every restaurant but this is my fav spot. Also one of the few place you can get legit spicy food downtown.
Perfect & Delicious
The atmosphere was very nice and welcoming and the staff were extremely friendly. The food was excellent I would highly recommend going for a casual night out or a more formal event this place is great for any kinda of time. All my love to the great staff :)
Excellent experience at this sushi restaurant. Everything was clean, staff were lovely, food was delicious, above standard and served in good time. The outdoor patio is a must on a beautiful summer afternoon! Highly recommend 👌
Ordered Yakisoba for 3 and an appetizer. The waitress asked how spicy we wanted our Yakisoba to be so we went with medium. The food was ridiculously spicy, I was not even able to finish the plate (which was a small serving given the price and size of the bowl. They also did not serve us our appetizer till we were done and waiting for the bill. Will never be back.
This is going to be a long review but i hope the owner could read this and have some changes. This is the worst Japanese restaurant experience that ive ever had in Moncton. I dont understand why the restaurant has so many good reviews on Google. My sister and i came in the restaurant at 7:30pm. It was not busy at all but i cant understand why the waitresses were so slow. We waited 20min for them to take our orders. And it even took them half an hour to bring us water. Not just us, other tables were the same. They couldnt even clean the old tables, new customer who came in had to wait for them. The kitchen was also super slow. They said that they were short of staff, but i saw like 6 people in there. What were they doing?! The total time we have to wait from when we ordered to when we received our last dish was MORE THAN AN HOUR.Next, lets talk about the food. We waited so long like that so we thought maybe the food is good. And as you can see in the pictures, they were burned. But the most disappointment was the bulgogi. I couldnt believe my eyes when they bring out that dish. Did they think we were stupid? Did they think we dont know what bulgogi look like? Their dish was just some boiled meet with some veg and a pepper on top. The order was over $18 and it was so ridiculous.Again with the customer service, the waitresses manner was affected and careless. They were all smiling and acted politely but truthfully, they didnt care about customer. Its like they dont know how to say the word "sorry". They let lot of people wait but they never said the "sorry" even once. After we complained and returned the bulgogi, the waitress brought the dish back to the kitchen and didnt say a word with us, she didnt tell us what they will do. After half an hour, she came back to our table and asked if we wanted another dish or wanted to remove it from the bill. We were speechless, we couldnt believe it. After all, we wanted to complain to say our mind, but also to help the restaurant. But after hearing us, the waitress just smile and nod. Just by looking at her, we can know that she doesnt care at all, she just listen and then forget about it.Ill definitely never come back to this place ever. I cant believe how nice me and my sister were. We were tortured for 2 hours but we still tried to finish our dish. If it were other people, they would have left already. This was so horrible.
Omg 🌞come to see what they are offering-- its unbelievable👍🌻 they are so good and so honest 🌻 for sure will come back again 🍶
Great sushi and noodles resto! Even the korean sundobu was tasty and spicy! They even gave us free spring rolls and gyozas, so nice!
We went as a party of four last night. They were very busy, even just prior to 5pm with in-house and take out orders. Because all of our order couldnt come at once, the chef sent it out in sections, but augmented it with at least four various extra freebies throughout the meal. Also, the sashimi pieces were enormous, the biggest I have ever seen served at a sushi restaurant! We were impressed at the value for money. Everything tasted great! The service staff had a good sense of humour and really hustled to keep everyone happy.
The staff was absolutely outstanding. Came in for a bite of Japanese cuisine and left with a great experience. Was pleasantly surprised when I was served a spring roll, shrimp tempura, gyoza, and miso soup all free of charge. The pork katsu and the rest of the food was amazing. Definitely plan to come again!
Service is excellent, but that sushi is solid 3 of 10, and generous 2 star just because the service was excellent.Presentation is like an amateur doing first time sushi at home, rolls are looking sad, messy, saggy, and dry especially the shrimp tempura roll which was the worst by a mile I have ever try.The taste was just ok, literally.I personally would never go back.
5-Star! Great dining experience at Japan Go. The best Unagi ever! The Sashimi was fresh and generously sliced. Remember good sushi takes time dont arrive starved. The place is small with limited table space so cozy and intimate but not be perfect for a big spread. Will be back for sure.
I had an absolutely amazing experience. My sushi was perfect, the service was top notch. Highly recommend if you are looking to enjoy a delicious meal at a good price!
Fresh sashimi and rolls are HUGE and flavourful.
Sushi was amazing and the service was most excellent. Highly recommended going it is so far the best I had in Moncton.
server is super friendly and chillthe food takes a bit, worth the wait.some rolls do fall apart- but i understand soy paper can be a lil finicky.탕수육이랑 돌솥비빔밥 맛있었어요 :)
Their 12 pages menu is huge, but their sushi are super good. I took the party tray and it came on a lovely wooden platter with multiple levels. Greatly recommand
As always amazing food. Great service. ❤️❤️❤️
This is, currently, my favourite sushi restaurant in Moncton. The atmosphere is fun and cheerful, but the star of the show is the food, featuring a diverse menu of Japanese, Korean and other cuisines, all served in creative fashion. The sushi is great, but also try the BBQ Eel and the soup.
Cant speak more highly of this restaurant. The service was absolutely amazing and the staff were so nice and friendly. We came later in the afternoon/earlier in the evening and practically had the whole place to ourselves. Our food came very fast and tasted soooooo good. Definitely would recommend the yam tempura roll. They also brought us out miso soup and spring rolls on the house which was an extra amazing treat, and the charming ambience of the restaurant just took it to the next level. Cant wait to go back again!! Definitely would recommend.
Good food, but we ordered Volcano rolls and it was not very good at all, I ordered a different role. The manager wanted me to pay the volcano that I sent back, very disappointed. The server was really friendly and good. Management need to revisit good quality band service.
Our server was very friendly. We were even provided with veg spring rolls on the house. The food quantity was more than adequate and quality was also good. Overall very satisfied..Will visit again
By far some of the very best sushi I’ve had in my lifetime! The service and decor are fantastic but the food is second to none!
I went in thinking it was going to be like a quick sushi place so when i placed my order and saw the price I thought "ok.. maybe not" and then i took the sushi for take out. When i got home and ate it, i realized why it was that price, the sushi quality was good and taste was there. Definetly worth the price. Next time would love to eat in, because service looked great too even just for take out.
Absolutely amazing!! Sushis are incredible here, there are fresh and tasty. They have a huge menu with tons of choices. The staff is so sweet and welcoming. Youll always be greeted with a smile and thanked for your visit at the end. The place is located directly downtown Moncton and is close to everything.
On our Sushi tour this place received 4 chopsticks out of 5. The price was most expensive but look at the location. Super chill downtown vibe. There were a lot of tempura on our boat so we did come out feeling fuller for sure. Not a bad place. Service was great too and the sushi was very good.
We ordered 70 pieces sushi boat And it took them over 1 hour to get your food so be prepared! The sushie I find bit salty they put too much sauce. Forgot to add the service was not good they kept forgetting our order. Had to remind them. Went on Monday night where it wasnt busy at all
Walked in to place an order for take out and had a great experience. Was greeted and assisted quickly. As I was waiting for my food the gentleman came out with a glass of water and miso soup and pulled out a chair at the table for me. Doesnt seem like much but, I can honestly say Ive never been treated that well at a restaurant especially while getting a take out order. The food is also amazing. Thank you for the experience!
Food was delicious and filling. Our 8yr old son loves sushi and their portions were shocking huge, the poor child could barely get a piece of rolled sushi in his mouth. Watch out for steep beer price, our bill was shocking after not seeing beer prices before ordering. Still I would highly recommend this spot bc staff was great too.
Really enjoyed the food and the staff was very friendly.
Good little spot! I had the Chicken Teriaki Sashimi Bento box for lunch - value is very good. The miso soup before was good, the sashimi was great, and the bento was also very good.Love the decor too, quaint and friendly, which is only reinforced by the friendly greeting (and response you get from the staff leaving!).Definitely worth checking out at least once.
The Tempura was a big disppointment. It was over fried with wrong temperature so it was very gracey. Tempura is the NO.2 healthy food in Japan when cooked proper it Doesnt even have Oil on it. Very crunchy and Fresh taste inside. When they were cooking the restaurant smelled those old Oil smell. The location and the decor and the sushi we had ordered are all stander. But do not order their Tempura..... worst Ive had and Ive been to most of the Sushi place here.
Excellent food, funky modern decor, and friendly service! Very impressed, will repeat!
Had a wonderful time at Japan go, the atmosphere is cozy. The waitress Yukie was so friendly, and happy to help with my allergies and anything else we needed. Thank you so much everyone!
Delicious food and awesome staff! The menu has lots of variety and everything tasted great on top of being beautifully plated. Our server was so courteous and friendly and the chefs were nice enough to wish us a Happy New Year from the kitchen window in back. Highly recommend this adorable restaurant if youre downtown Moncton. The decor and ambience are so relaxing and welcoming, so stop by and enjoy a cup of Jasmine tea while you fill your belly with all the tasty fare Japan Go has to offer!
After stumbling into Moncton by accident, following a series of wrong turns on our way to Hopewell Rocks, we came across this gem of a restaurant. The flashing LED signs beckoned us in with promises of noodles, but we were pleasantly surprised by the decor and delicious bento box offerings. My salmon box was exceptional and well worth the price. The hostess was attentive and friendly, and the servers coldly efficient. Everyone seemed to know exactly how to make the dining experience great. My Malaysian friends visiting Canada for the first time managed to pay the bill while I wasnt looking, but they didnt know youre supposed to tip in North America. We left some money on the table, but it probably wasnt enough to compensate for the great service.
I tried their beef u-don and it was amazing! I am coming here again for sure!
It is the sushi place to visit! The chefs are amazing! Their creations are tasty, colorfull and very nice. Stop in and try, you will not be disappointed. Theyre so friendly and the service was very fast and efficient and of course the food was GREAT!! Even the take out is great!!
Japan Go was our stop in Moncton for lunch. After eating too much seafood, we wanted a different cuisine for a change. We were pleasantly surprised by Japan Go. Even though food came out a tad slow, everything they serviced was great. The even had an appetizer that was on the house!
