Parents & kids flock to this sunny square with funky totem polls & a wading-friendly fountain.
Cool park for hot day with kids or dogs
Cute little park. Reminds me the parks in Paris.
Really a beautiful park, open so easy to keep an eye on you little ones or your pooch at play. Great fountain to splash around or poke your feet in. Sweet place for a summer visit durung the day
It has a portland loo that is helpful on my long bike rides.
Very nice park to sit and take in the surrounding area.
Really family friendly and dog friendly park. Lots of people, a little crowded for me but for an extrovert it could be fun. Ice cream across the street
A small neighborhood park with a waterfall feature people can play in. Lots of seating (benches, carved rock). Wheelchair accessible. Room for children to run and play or to have your lunch or tea. Plenty of shaded areas.
Nice-ish park! I love the water feature! There is a waterfall staircase that children we’re playing on to cool off from the 90 degree heat that day. Lots of trees around this park too! Unfortunately, there was garbage blowing around the perimeter and a couple very dirty homeless people digging in the trash and walking around and through the park. It was unsettling especially near where children were playing in the middle and in the water feature! I wish that these people would receive the help they need. They didn’t seem happy.
Such a fun place for kids and grown ups alike to splash around and get wet on a hot day!
Fun fountain for kids to play in, wish there was more shade though.
Its a very cool park indeed! I love the trees & the benches. Plus, the nice water area is nice, too.
Great wadding in hot weather. Shade and many benches.
So far this is definitely my favorite fountain for the kids to play. It’s in the beautiful Pearl and is a beautiful park. Yes sketchy characters every now and then just like every other park downtown but every time I come nobody is disturbing the place. The water completely drains about every 20 minutes so I’m sure it’s more on the cleaner side. Super fun and safe for smaller kids. Lots of shade to chill in and even just get your feet wet.
Amazing care of the water fountains. Great layout for keeping track of my kid while letting them play. Good balance of shade and sun with lots of seating
Water feature is great for kids of all ages. Plentiful shade and a grassy area full of picnics and families. Perfect place for a quick water break.
Everyone is very friendly and we all had a great time
Great park to take the kids in the summer. The water feature for the win!
It is a Beautiful place to just have lunch, do work or just to Relax
Excellent clean park. Kid friendly with water park
Nice place to take a stroll or read a good book, especially when the fountain is on. So peaceful
Winter is the best time for me because the park sets up a Christmas 🎄 with lights, a beautiful time of the year for me. Summer time is the favorite for everyone 💕, who doesnt like the hot sunshine and get a nice tan. Now that I live so close to Jamison Square, I will be getting my tan look again 🙃. I dont get the whole appeal of this park; its tiny and boring. Definitely not the coolest park in town and is overrated and really small. Go to Washington Park if you must stay west of the Willamette. Laurelhearst Park is also beautiful if you can travel a short distance to visit.
Not much here. Lots of homeless people all around the benches and the stairs, garbage was strewn about.. not a good place to visit if youre looking for a nice place to sit and relax for a bit!
The squares in Portland are great for two activities I do often; eating lunch and people watching. Jamison is a small square but with plenty of seating. Its an open brick courtyard with several decent trees on a green grassy area and 5 or 6 doubled-up (back to backpark benches along the the side walk. Set in amphitheater style with big stepping stone structures for sitting on, or performing. On my last visit I watched a woman striking dramatic poses for selfies. And a man in his 40s was walking around carrying his pants and desperately asking everybody if they had a bar of soap he could use. I usually observe something amusing in the squares. This wasnt the first time I had seen this man in a frantic state carrying his pants.Theres also a statue of a bear in there. Always a little unexpected, but I find comfort in it.
Jameson square is really beautiful it was nice coming back to see it and visit for a moment, since it brought up the memories of when I read my first poem at Light The Hearth a few years ago for Street Roots, it still brings up tears it was the first time I read in front of a live audience and a very large audience.
Jamison Square is a really fun and unique water feature in Portland there really isn’t anything else like it around. The water is fun for both children and adults. My grandsons love it and I enjoy just listening to the waterfall over the rocks it can be very soothing in the fall and winter!
this park is a great place to let kids run around and play in the water. the only downside is that a lot of the grassy areas were very barren of grass (somewhat understandable right nowbut that made things dusty and dirty
Good parking, diversified neighborhood, ice cream, coffee, just feet away. Fine dining around every corner. Great area for your pets.
Little urban park in the Pearl district. Feels a little deserted every time I pass by despite being in a really nice and lively neighborhood. There are no kids playing, no people reading, leaving the stairs and benches empty. Maybe it’s because of the current pandemic.
This place is so nice. Theyre always doing something here decorating it for every single holiday that there is. The walkways are wooden, even the benches are wooden. They have a public restroom. Theres also like a water display. Theres a bunch of nice stores around there that you can go to while youre there checking out the park.
Great place to relax in the city. If it werent for CoVid 19, it would be full of children playing in the super cool water fountain. Since the water is off it still offers places to sit on the stones of the fountain. The stacked stones not only offer seating and climbing for little ones, but its a wall on the back side, dividing the park in half. There are plenty of trees offering shade and several benches spread throughout the park to sit.Im adding photos Ive taken in the past. Oddly none while Im sitting in the park.

Looked like a really fun water place for kids. Like a waterfall. Not just your typical fountain.
Loved the fountain here! The water has different depth and waterfall phases (easier seen than explained). Fun for the family! Since the splash pad is very open, it is easier for parents to play with their kids without trampling over others or crowding the place.
All city parks should be this beautiful and engaging. Love it year-round but especially in the summer months when the water feature is on. Bring the little ones; theyll love it.Cool Moon Ice Cream across the street too.
Love it here! Beautiful surroundings. The water is so fun to play in or just dip your feet in. No play toys but still super entertaining for kids.
Its was a small and cute area with grass for picnicking, water for kids (and adultsto play, and lots of benches to sit. Nothing very amazing about it but if youre looking to stay in that area and need a place to relax outdoors for free, this could be your answer.
Jamison square has a water feature that is fantastic for kids. It fills up a big pool with waterfalls and then the pool drains. It cycles like this. There are plenty of shady area for parents to sit in good view of their kids. Safe for younger kids too.
I spent a peaceful, still hour, or so, here after a very important job interview. It was perfect place to decompress. The fountain area was full of small children playing in the waters of the fountains. People walking their dogs & couples strolling by holding hands. Other people, like myself, sitting in quiet contemplation. The weather was beautiful & nobody approached me asking for cigarettes, or spare change. The park edges form a ring covered in leafy green trees, plenty of benches & lots to look at, as many walk through on their way to wherever.
Great location and easily accessible by the streetcar. It has declined in the last couple years - used to be very nice and family friendly. The grassy area is now more of a mud pit and be careful for pet waste. Ive witnessed a homeless man washing his laundry while the water was full of kids.
Its a fun little water spot for kids. If your child is special needs this place is great because the sound of the water is soothing for them. Can be busy during warmer temperatures but overall its nice. Downside is having to pay for parking along side the park area.
Waterfall and kids losing their minds, ice cream shop around the corner, great spot to have some lunch at the benches. Nice people around it.
I really like the little waterfall. In sight of its location, it is a nice park to bring your kids. Especially, the Summer. They have a look that can be used and is kept surprisingly clean! YOU PIECE OF CANDY! Ice cream shop across the street.
The fountain can be very loud, but its a great place to take kiddos to cool off in the water. A pattern of phases keep the water depth and volume of the waterfalls changing. Possibly my kids favorite city park in summer.
Nice plaza style park with a nice fountain feature. Get crowded on nice warm days.Kids love it.
We love this fountain. It’s both kid friendly and adult friendly. While you sit and watch you kids play, adults can soak their feet and take sun, or have a picnic on the tree shaded green grass. Right next to the square is delicious ice cream everyone can enjoy, with small sizes to enormous hefty 4 scoop portions.
I live in Boston and I feel great here. Such a nice place to hang out with kids or just friends. It is a very well done space.
Great place for kids to play on a hot day. There is some shade around they park, but not on the main water feature area, so bring sunscreen! I tend to be paranoid about my kid as he likes to climb around on whatever he can, and the fountain itself he loved climbing on much to my chagrin. If youre a parent who constantly worries about your kid beware! Parking on the close side of the road was 3hr blocks, but on the opposite side it was only 90min blocks and the parking enforcement person wasnt very kind about adding time.
BEST splash park / wading pool for babies and toddlers during the summer time!!! This public park is architecturally beautiful with blocks of stones stacked up and lined up in an open space that is surrounded by tall buildings in the Pearl District of Portland. What is more amazing is how the designers integrated the idea of a splash park / wading pool into the elements of the park. The water gushes out of and in between the stacked up stones to make stream of little waterfalls. Sometimes the water flows stronger and sometimes weaker. Sometimes the water does not drain and it forms a temporary wading pool that is slightly lower than knee high deep. At other times, it just drains out the water really quickly. The result is just simply a lot of fun! There are signs that help warn parents to tell their children not to drink the water. To my surprise, the smell from the water reminded me of the chlorinated water from swimming pools. The smell was not strong, but it kind of provided me with a sense of assurance that it was not dirty or contaminated with germs. There is everything to love about this beatiful park!
This park is a perfect addition to the surrounding Community. Its beautiful. During the winter holiday season they have a beautiful tree on display. In the spring and summer seasons The kids can play in the fountain and dogs are allowed as well. Theres a real neat Boardwalk and theres a Portland loo for your restroom needs. It is conveniently accessible by the Portland street car.
