Oracabessa, Jamaica, Port Maria
Featured in "Dr. No," this beach on a peninsula features changing rooms & the Moonraker bar.
Difficult to get in but the scenery looks great. There is a paved road after 180 main road turn (arriving from Ocho Riosright at the bus stop so do not use the bumpy muddy road showed on google maps or the back road from fish sanctuary. Once you arrive you will see the locked gate but if you are lucky you might be able to talk to someone to let you in for a fee of course. Fee varies significantly and better to have Jamaican dollars as guys had very wrong rate towards US$. They wanted 2.000 JMD for snorkelling but just entry to look around is much cheaper (500). They couldn’t calculate properly the conversion as they struggled with their calculator and english too. According to them first they wanted 150 US$ then 50 then 30 and in the end even hands and legs were unable to help but the jamaican paper on the hands worked.
I was told tge beach has been closed since 2020. The scenery that can be seen from outside is beautiful
Although reviews are mentioning beach is closed, we could access the property via the service road. The guard allowed us to look around. We noticed there was a group snorkeling on the property. Acc. the people there is a protected reef in front of the property. When there is no snorkling tour on site you can try to arrange access for snorkling with the guards.
This beach is closed. According to the locals, they are trying to build appartements. It would be a real shame to loose this beautiful beach.
Visited March 2022, this business closed over a year ago. The gates are locked & there is no access via a public route 😳
Very disappointed. I am still shocked by the disastrous scenery.. Hope this is fixed shortly because this is a historical place in Jamaica
Is last days of 2021. And this beach is closed. So dont waste your time. Also the last part of the road is very bumpy.
I did the snorkeling tour...a most excellent adventure..theres a PADI dive shop on site complete with inarticulate and equipment rentals.I met some persons associated with the fish sanctuary and their work and dedication to the cause is more than impressive - Cant big them up enough!!!Having said that, the beach itself needs some attention and the facility definitely needs a face-lift...these however didnt detract from the clear waters and even more impressive marine life.
Beautiful tranquility place small breach tucked away. A few little restaurants and bars were you can taste the local food. I love it and you would to.Worth a visit. 🤩
Absoultely stunning area and a must go to if you are in Jamaica. If you want to go to Ian Flemings house you need to reserve in advance. There are boat trips out which are well worth it as you understand who lives where as well as the important fishing conservation they are doing.
James Bond beach, is one of the must-see places in Jamaica, it has 4 sectors of beach to visit, it is quite quiet, very good views and there is a bar to eat and drink. You can rent a kayak and explore the sea and the different beaches
Great snorkeling! You pay to get in but its worth it. Bring your snorkel gear. The restaurant is awesome!
Everything about this beach is love. Very spacious area for kids to play and have picnics. Pet friendly. Bathrooms are relatively clean. Need more variety at the restaurant.
This beach is now 1 of my favorites on the island! My family and I went on Jan. 26, 2020. The ONLY eeason I dont give it 5⭐ is because it needs at least 1 more beach/sand area. And the bathroom is not equipped with a shower.
The beach is simply breathtaking. The wash off is a turn off. The pipes are outside.persons sitting and eating on the boardwalk can see you. A proper shower area is needed with some privacy.
2 nice beaches but they are a bit rocky and the turnoff is filled with bad potholes. Its $350 per adult and there is a restaurant, bar, restrooms, picnic tables you can use, lifeguards and kayak rentals. The water is calm and the grounds are well maintained. Had a nice relaxing day there.
Beautiful and quiet. Better than I expected
They need proper roads to get there. I thought it was the wrong turn like in those horror movies. The beach was very clean and private. There is ample parking. The changing area was clean and so were the bathrooms. Now the food needs to go. I ordered fried chicken and it was nasty. Never again. Maybe something else on the menu was better but what I got was a no no. The bar was better.
Road to it is awful and the security staff tried to charge entry. However, the bar staff were excellent and the alcohol prices were reasonable. Clean tidy, but small, beach. Spectacular views.
Had to pay $350 as a local to access the beach. There was a stray dog there, you couldnt eat in peace.Place looked like its not cared for.On the positive side,it was quiet and the water cool, clear and clean.
My visit here today was peaceful for the short time I was there......
So I have not been this beach in a while and was pleasantly surprised when I came here for a staff fun day. The sand is clean and the beach is good for swimming. The only concern I had was with the bathroom facility, where there are multiple around the beach, each location is just one stall which was an inconvenience having to wait.
A very pleasant place to chill a relax an entire day.
Very beautiful. Not too crowded and much opportunities to spend time for activities like a big soccer field
$5 entary for a small beach isnt worth it. But the bar/ restaurant is good. With nice food and view. Would be good for a larger group that wanted to spend a day as there is a football pitch and space
Not worth it for the beach part - it’s a tree surrounded by sand - if you are going to enjoy the vibe and spend the day eating and drinking and walking around then sure. The view is nice right on the water where local boats dock.
I had a wonderful time with my family. The changing room and shower areas were better than other beaches facilities. They also had free beach chairs which was a plus for me.
Water is clear and clean facilities well kept
We went for a sports day. The water was cool and nice after a long hot day. Not sure how popular it is anymore but its Def worth checking out
Large area but the beach side was fairly small. Good for a small group and the lifeguards on duty are very vigilant.
Beautiful place to soak up Jamaica. Right close to GOLDEN EYE for James Bond fans.
The seaside view is incredible! This is a more quiet and secluded beach of Jamaica. It is well maintained and does offer a bar, a restaurant as kayaks and paddleboards. Do keep in mind that the beach is a bit rocky and the bar is overpriced
This was my first time at the beach and I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely beach and park; especially since the road in was so bad. The park itself is quite nicely maintained and the restaurant and bar were very nice. We found the food at the restaurant was quite exceptional but a bit on the expensive side. I would definitely come here again.
This place is absolutely breathtaking. A must do! 😍👍🏾
Nice place to chill for the day. Large park a couple of small beaches. Upper and lower decks. Theres an entrance fee. Cant remember how much. Maybe US$5. Local fee is cheaper. Bar is well stocked.
Luke the chef!!! thanks man for the good food and the great experience.. nice place very scenic, had a chance to watch a s soccer game and had a great meal.. definetly recommend this place.. curry lobster, fried chicken, jerk chicken and garlic shrimp on point. Once again thanks
Very relaxing.. quiet....staff if very accommodating.. view if just spectacular
Its great that a movie was shot here but the beach itself left a lot to be desired. The water was super salty and there were these super sharp stones in the beach to the east. The field in the middle was dry and dusty too. It looked so beautiful though!
Beautiful, clean and spacious. The perfect place for the family.
Wonderful. Clean beach. 2 diff beaches. Big field to play any sport you want. Music if you want.great view. Picturesque. Its gorgeous
Place was awesome, nice clean beach clean bathroom plenty of space..... nice reef close up to view many different types of fish
The beach has changing rooms, showers, a bar, restaurant, large grassy field for playing volleyball and football, deckchairs on the sand for guests and catchy music playing. Carry your own ball. Admission seems reasonable enough although the beach is small and I felt the guards at the gate arent trained in handling crowds because we waited for nearly 15 minutes before they could sort out 20 people which I found ridiculous. The restaurant was terribly overpriced too and the fish wasnt fresh. At least the beach was very beautiful and very clean
Photoshoot at the wonderful James Bond Beach. Picture done by RD Photography.
Small but nice beach, waters are very calm and shallow
Had a lot of fun....place is beautiful
Lovely, picturesque, serene beach. Good for family and church trips. The canoeing was a great experience and they also have a swing but do that at your own risk haha. Has a changing area but Im not sure they sell food so walk with your own food.
Great for a company outing/ Fun Day as it can accommodate hundreds of people. The water is shallow so great for hosting children as well. Downside: the catering staff. I have had two experiences with food shortage though a specific # of persons should have been catered for.
Great beach. Secluded, beautiful. Worth the $5 to get in. They have a bar and grill (prices were very reasonable), restrooms, showers. Lounge chairs for the beach. Music playing on speakers. Atmosphere is laid back and relaxing. Just what my husband and I needed for the day.
Its a great place to go for a relaxing beach trip with the whole family. With cool breeze and gentle waves, bar and cafeteria to serve delicious food and drinks.Remeber to bring some balls and sun hats and enjoy yourselves on their huge field where you can just frolic and enjoy the suns UV rays and if you get tired just rest under the cool shades of the trees, sitting on the benches as the breeze caress your skin.
Property nice but there isnt anything to do but the Beach. Need more attractions all this place is is a big ball field and a mini beach
