Jaldapara National Park - Homestay in Shiliguri, India
Jaldapara National Park in Shiliguri
Description
They ask to book online even when present there in person. The online mode of booking doesnt work either. For people with less knowledge regarding what route to take for safari will not be able to figure out what to do. The management is very poor.
MoreAbsolutely amazing place for tourists and nature lovers. If you are not so much nostalgic and have interest in photograhy, come here and enjoy the lush green forest, trees, sounds of cricket and different types of birds, animals. You have mainly two options - Elephant safari and Jeep safari. But it is not sure you can find out the animals what you imagine, it depends on your luck. But the scenic beauty of this national forest is awesome.

Known for conservation and preservation of the One horned Rihno, Jaldapara is a must visit in Bengal for all the nature lovers . Taking the safari in a foggy dawn was a good decision indeed!
MoreNice Jeep safari. We have seen about dozen of one horned rhinos. Lots of peacocks, bisons, deers, monkeys are visible here. But unfortunately no wild elephant. Hollong guest house is nicely located inside Jaldapara National Park. Elephant safari is another attractive alternatives but you have to book it in advance.
MoreBest place for wild life lovers in Eastern India , natural cool compose environment would make all of us happy ,even if you donot see any animal though chances rare - elephants if not anything

MoreOnline booking of wild life safari is available in advance. Over the counter booking not available. It is famous for one horn rhino, elephant, barking deer, sambar deer, wild boar, peocock, leopard.
MoreAmazing and adventurous! Totally loved the experience. Though I feel that things can be improved and staff with better knowledge regarding the ecosystem of the forest should be appointed.
MoreReally a nice experience exploring the forests here. You can find deers, peacock, bisons and if you are lucky you can find rhino. Jeep Safari and elephant safari are popular here. Need to have bookings.
MoreJaldapara is few kms away from Alipurduar, n your heart will stop beating at the sights of majestic animals there in their Natural habitat. I was surprised to see that Rhinoceros dint reacted at all when we we’re unknowingly bt dangerously close to it.May be it is used to see visitors. Bt u ll hv to be lucky to get glimpses of all the animals at the viewing spot in a single visit. U cant really express the experience in words of watching these mesmerising animals. Have a visit and Get lucky 😁
MoreOne the best national park of India, at jaldapara, norhbengal. Here u can made jungle safari by jeep and elephant also. U have to booked your safari day before.
MoreIt is an amazing place to travel. So much greenery and peace. The jungle safari is a lifetime experience, everyone should go for it with friends and family. We could actually see Rhinos, Elephants, Deer, Peacocks, Bison roaming around.
MoreEstablished as a wildlife sanctuary in the year 1941, Jaldapara National Park is a spectacular destination on the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, by the banks of the Torsha River. It is based in the new Alipurduar district of West Bengal, India. The national park falls into the Dooars region, which is not only famous for its tea gardens but also boasts dense jungles home to many endangered animal species such as tigers, rhinoceros, elephants, etc
MoreTeeming with wildlife, like the Indian Gaur, Rhino, Elephant, Wild Boar, Leopard, and many other, Jaldapara is one of the best in the North East part of the country! Would highly recommend a stay at the Forest Departments Hollong lodge inside the dense forest near a salt pit and stream, where you can inevitably see all thw different variety of animals. If you dont get the stay, just stay wherever you can, and take a safari!
Moreawesome place to visit with family and friends. we went there in April. that time weather was very soothing . the safari was very enjoyable. you can easily spot peacock, bison, elephant, single horn rhino and many more. you can also enjoy tribal dance after the afternoon safari.
MoreWe went on a Gypsy ride through the Jaldapara forest in the first ride at 6.00 am. Amongst our close encounters, was a single horn rhino, many peacocks, sambhar and other deer, galloping bisons and some wild boar. Unfortunately, we did not come across any elephants.
MoreJaldapara National Park offers Gypsy Safari and Elephant Safari. Must visit if you wanna see Rhinoceros.
MoreWent in December, Did not have any sightings except Barking deer & peacock. However in advent of sunset in serene grassland & way through the tall trees is just bliss.. ✌️
MoreJaldapara national park is one of the best tourist destination of North Bengal. Large number of people visit this place and enjoy the day with there friends and family. All type of food facelift available here. Toilet facilities is good. Various types of safari done here,,,, like tight safari, Deer safari, elephant safari, ect.
MoreThis time also after repeated try I failed to book Hollong Bungalow (WBTDCLand my Jaldapara Jungle Safari would not up to the mark. For the last 4 years, I am trying to book this bungalow in Jaldapara but all my attempts were in vain. This time also the reservation facility is nonfunctional now due to the renovation work of the bungalow. Then I tried for Barodabari Malangi lodge of WBFDCL but failed. At last, I managed to book WBTDCL Jaldapara Tourist Lodge. There also one day I got 1 non AC family room in the main building for one night and AC cottage for another night.Elephant safari in Jaldapara takes place in the early morning hours and starts at the Hollong Lodge of WBTDCL (West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limitedand Barodabari-Malangi Lodge (WBFDCL). These safaris are run by the staff of the Forest Department on trained elephants. The elephant ride is the best way to explore the sanctuary with the sporadic sight of Indian rhinos and Asiatic elephants.Jaldapara Elephant Safari booking process-As Jaldapara Elephant Safari is exciting so the booking the ride is perhaps the trickiest part. First, you should know that the elephant ride can only be booked while you are in Jaldapara and not in advance or online. Search TINTINBOX to know more.
MoreWorth visiting place, mesmerising experience, got chance to see rhino, peacock, elephant, bison and variety of birds. Need to book jeep and time slot while taking ticket. Better to book jeep on share basis.Guides are there to provide information.
MoreAwesome. Simply amazing experience. Nature and wildlife is so beautiful. Elephants, rhinos, deer and other animals can be spotted here in the lap of nature and if you are lucky you can even spot a Royal Bengal Tiger in all its glory. You can go on a jungle safari on government authorised jeeps. Visit the watchtowers to get a feel of the jungle. Best place to stay is at Hollong Tourist Lodge right in the middle of the jungle but booking for it is very difficult unless you know some people in the right places. However the icing on the cake is the elephant safari which starts from Hollong Tourist Lodge in the morning. Book early to avoid the tremendous rush.
MoreIts beautiful. Better get place into Hollong or Jaldapara Tourist Lodge to get elephant safari. Its simply amazing and have much better chance of watching animals. We got to see deer, rhino, python in our trip. Jeep safari is also good, but we liked elephant. Even if you dont get to see anything, you are gonna love the experience of elephant ride through the forest.
MoreAmazing safari experience! They offer two types of safari rides - Jeep and Elephant ride. We took the JeepTickets can only be booked the evening before. The ticket window opens at 6 pm, but tourists start lining up way before that. We recommend going there before 5 pm to ensure you get the Safari spot of your choiceThe Safari is for almost 1.5 - 2 hours, entirely through the forest area with a couple of stops on the way.The park is home to Rhinos, Elephants, Deer and a lot of peacocks. We were lucky enough to get to see most of the residents, including a couple of rhinosThe guide accompanying us in the Jeep was quite knowledgeable, providing us with interesting tidbits regarding the neighborhoodDefinitely a must visit for nature lovers

MoreJaldapara National Park (Bengali: জলদাপাড়া জাতীয় উদ্যান; Pron: ˌʤʌldəˈpɑ:rə(formerly Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuaryis a national park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in Alipurduar District of northern West Bengaland on the banks of the Torsa River. MoreRhinos are the main attraction of this park, and we were lucky enough to see one. Peacocks are present in plenty, we could see more than 15 peacocks in the entire safari. Elephants are available. Deer, bisons and wild boars are also seen. Leopards are rare, we couldnt see any.
MoreThis is a great place to view wild animals and the guide will assure you that you will surely get to see one of each animal species present here. Its surprising when it comes true and the animals seem more trained than wild. They are wild though; its just that they are too used to human beings watching them from afar.
MoreIts a beautiful national park mainly consisting of grasslands and somewhat woodlands. A variety of animals like elephants, rhinoceros, bison and deer can be spotted here. One can either take an elephant ride or a gypsy ride to travel to the dense interiors of the forest.
MoreJaldapara National Park is mainly for Wild Rhinos and Elephants. And obviously for Jungle Safary Adventure. But it is hard to see Rhinos which is famous for Jaldapara National Park. I clicked so many pictures but missed Rhinos. You have to reach earlier in the morning to book Safary Car for 7 Persons ₹1800. There is a Bengal Tourist Lodge to stay, but costly for the crowd.
MoreThis National Park is just a 45minute drive from Falakata Railway Station. Known for rhinoceros, elephants, baisons and dense forest area.Best time to visit Jan- April
MoreJaldapara reserve forest is very good place to visit but you will not allowed to enter the area without tickets. Hollong banglow is the place where you can stay to see wild animals. Do get booking, you can book it online before one month. Rest of things you will know when you will be there.
MoreAwesome feeling. I will highly recommend this to all the people because:1. You can feel the nature, you can touch the nature2. You can experience the existence of all animals like elephant, rino, bison, peacock, leopards etc.3. You will know how forest talk4. You will know how we are making problems to the life of animals, continuous safari sound human movement making their life difficult.5. You can stay in Hollong Guest House which is difficult to book, but continuous try may help to book. From Hollong, you can see many animals even from your bed. Price is almost same if you do all activity from outside. If you are in Hollong, then you need not to worry for booking tickets.6. For people, who are staying outside, its difficult to book for elephant safari. Because, after Hollong booking, if any seat is available then only you will get elephant safari ticket.7. There are so many birds8. To take picture of birds, best time is 6.00am -10 am & in afternoon 4.00pm-5.30pm.
MoreIts all depend upon your luck but Ill suggest please try to book your safari for early morning or in evening beacuze after 7 Am there is less chances to see the animals birds.. Otherwise the forest is too good.
MorePlace is one time visit to experience elephant safire in to forest. Ride was less than 1 hour . Chances of seeing tigers is 0.1% , so dont expect much. You may see rhaino / deer.
MoreIt depends all upon the luck when it comes to track wild animals during the safari. Well, we were lucky enough to get excellent glimpses of almost all the predominant inhabitants in the jungle. However, the safari was not long, around 1hour. As a bonus, we got to see the tribal dance by the Hollong community in the jungle which was pretty nice.Caught sight of plenty of Bisons and peacock in the safari. Added to that, there was stag, wild hen, tuskers, super clean streams stocked with fishes and of course the mighty 🦏 rhinoceros!!The ambiance was dry and gave a savana kind of forest look. The total safari fare was a bit over-priced I think. ₹1900 for four people- for gypsy safari. For doing elephant safari...you have to stay in Jaldapara for a couple of days. The best time to visit is September-December.

MoreBeautiful forest and very inexpensive. There are around 4 safari slots everyday and this place is quite crowded.Elephant rides are difficult to get and need advance booking.jeep safaris are easily available and cost around 1800 inr if u take the whole jeep for urself.Jaldapara tourist lodge is exactly located here itself and best place to stay if u want to stay close to the main gate. All the other resort and hotels are a bit far.Overall we had a gud time here and we stayed at Hollong eco resort which is around 6 kms from the main gate.We got to know here that the Holong lodge which is situated inside the forest can be booked 3 months in advance exactly on the last day of each month at midnight and it gets booked in 5 mins!!. Wish we knew this before.
MoreIt is a good experience for adventure tourists.Remain closed between June 15 to September 15 every yearElephant safari starts from Holling bungalow.3 trips per day
