Jacob's Well - Religious destination in Rosh Ha‘Ayin, Israel
Beautiful church that preserves Jacobs Well in its lower level.
Got to meet the servant sent to finish the project of restoration what a blessing to be where Jesus saved a sinner!
Nice place with incredible history and architecture, Ive been there many times. Totally worth a visit!
The Abbot had to fight to renovate and keep this church open for people, with multiple murder attempts against him, in his 80s hes still around and made it.Definitely worth visiting.
This is such a beautiful church. Even though Im Muslim, I still enjoyed visiting it. The art and design of the interior is amazing to see. The well beneath the church is incredibly deep. But the water tastes amazing. This church is definitely worth visiting.
Great historic place 👌 👏 👍 🙌 worth visiting if your ✋️ in Nablus.super friendly Palestinian all over this city 😀 👍 🙌
The most authentic place in the holy land
What a wonderful experience feel blessed to have set foot on such a holy beautiful place
You havent lived until youve been blessed by an 81-year-old Greek Orthodox priest who has been guarding Jacobs Well with his life for the last 40 years. Archimandrite Ioustinos is an absolute gem and his art and icons covering the walls and ceilings of St. Photini Church is worth a visit.
Very holy ground
Its so exciting and helpful 😃
For 50 years this orthodox monk has dedicated his life to this place. His passion for this place reflects an inner touch with the sacred. Well is 40 meters deep.
A beautiful, peaceful church. They allowed us to draw and drink from the well.
Authentic, actual Bible location.
Its a beautiful place
It was a great privilege for me to visit this biblical site. The Greek Orthodox church is well maintained and take proper care of the Jacobs well.
Lovely Greek Orthodox church in Nablus with Jacobs well situated under the altar. You can drink the water pulled up via the bucket, suggest bringing your own cup or bottle.
It was an amazing experience, we managed to take fresh water from the well and drink it
Doing a whole series on the well, John 4. Schechem on Podcast, The Bigger Picture Johan Bosman.
A great holy Christian place with nice local Muslims taking care of it
Interesting Greek Orthodox Church and you’ll find the Jacob‘a Well. Yes, you can even try the water from the well.
Very beautiful and peaceful place ❤
Awesome, and great to meet the priest who was involved in building the church.
This was my favorite place on my recent tour of the holy land. Why? Because I actually dra k from the same well as Jesus! The paintings and mosaics are modern but lovingly completed by one man, the priest. Absolutely incredible talent. There is also a 2000 jug on display.
This place was incredible. I got to draw water out of Jacobs well and drink it. So much history here. Our family had a great time enjoying the gardens and looking at the artwork as well.
Amazing place to visit. Well very close to four thousand years old. Jesus drank from this well.
Beautiful but rustic WC. Bring TP if needed and hand sanitizer! Beautiful artwork and wonderful clean water in the well.
Very unique church, icons, Samaria well with good water
One of the most powerful experiences of my 12 days in the Holy Land! An absolute MUST.
Awesome place, full of esychia and Holy Grace
So impressed. It is about 40 metres deep, and has always been in the same place for centuries. It could not be moved or any assumption made. The water is still potable (drinkable).
Jacobs Well. Here Jesus spoke with Samarian women and her life changed. Jesus Christ gave her the new meaning of life, water living, grace of new chappy life. Later in Samaria born the Christian communities. I recommend.
Drinking water from the well
Opening hours: 8-12, 2-4pm. We waited because they weren’t listed anywhere. Unfriendly people working there... but still a nice place to visit
A must place to visit when you come to Israel for pilgrimage.Father Ioustinos (called father of the pooris a pillar of orthodox church in the area. You will pilgrimage the martyr death of Saint Filoumenos, the holy grail and the Jacobs well.
Fresh water still flows through this well. It is here where Jesus offered the Samaritan woman the water of life
Beautiful church with 4000 year old well! It is quite, calm and peaceful..
Excellent place to view, and pull water from, the stream of Jesuss time. Lovely church.
An amazing historical place, that shows the Christian suffering under occupation in the hollyland, the former priest was killed by the Israeli setllers and the current one was targeted 32 times
Amazing. Be sure to save cash enough to buy an icon from the monk. You will not regret it.
Hearing the recent experience of the prior priest brought home the reality some Christians face every day (he was killed....). Sobering in context of the historical site.Yes, I did draw up the water and have a drink
A must visit site while travelling through northern part of Palestine. Its a very meaningful site for Christian pilgrimage as Jesus himself was at the well. Nowadays a huge church is built over the well, the church will surprise you with magnificent sacral art done by the monk living on the site. It is still possible to drink from the well so dont hesitate to take extra bottle and fill it up with fresh water.
Loved it. The old priest helped us get in and we all got to draw water from the very deep well. It pays to go in a small group.
I loved Jacobs well. This the only well in the area. The Samaritan woman gave Jesus a drink from the well breaking a law because Jesus was a Jew. He said I will give you living water...as he does for each of us. Not many visitors go to Jacobs well, please go very historic. <><
DO NOT VISIT!!!!!!!!!!!!The priest who "works" here is probably the rudest and least Christian man I have ever met in my life. He screams at each group of tour groups to get out as soon as possible. He permits no photos of the actual well or well room. He refused all attempts at polite conversation. He accused me of being a "Jewish settler" (Im a Punjabi American...lol- and said they had killed one of his priests - so I needed to get out of the church.Im pretty sure this was plain and simple racism. He is a bully and a biggot, and he is the person this church has appointed to work with visitors every single day (I asked). He is too insecure to even say whether or not he is from Nablus. This church has no brochure, printed information, or posted rules for visitors - instead it seems he arbitrarily enforces when he sees fit. And he deliberately screams and acts physically intimidating and threatening when he does so. Is this his path to salvation?Truly awful experience when you pay to travel halfway around the world to be treated in this way.
One of the highlights of my trip to Jerusalem. Such a well preserved place, especially for Palestine. The church is beautiful and the well is still standing, pretty much the same as in Jesus time. The information person is very passionate and he really brings the whole experience to life. We got to even drink the water (which is believed to be the nicest and most refreshing water in all the land and fill up our drink bottle with the water that they believe today is still providing! Just like Jesus said about The Holy Spirit!
Tasted water from Jacobss well. Been around since Jesuss time where He met and talked to samaritan woman.
Very nice place for a short historical visit in Israel. It is a peace of ancient Israel that you do not get to see everyday. It is fascinating how Jews thousands of years ago were in this very archaeological site, and thousands of years later the Jews are still their!!!
Father Justin humbly and kindly bless us. My group is in awe of him as a true servant of God.
Stunning byzantine basilica made anew by Fr Justin after the martyrdom of his forerunner in 1979. Read John 4.
