Jack Rabbits Pub & Grill - Bar & grill in Durban, South Africa
Nice food and reasonable portion size. Bit more pricey but worth few extra pound. Waitress made a few rude remarks.
Came as a group for a late lunch. Venue was very clean and customer service was great. 5/6 meals were good though the curry dish was a little dry; was offered a replacement dish.Would come again 😄
Really great pub with good hearty meals for everyone. Small hiccup where a dish was forgotten but very quickly resolved. Fast service and great staff always happy to help with any issues or queries. The cocktails are strong but definitely worth it. Lovely atmosphere.
One of our favourite family restaurants when looking for a roast. Child friendly, nice food, relaxed atmosphere and good service.
We stayed at the Travel Lodge at Derriford prior to an early morning hospital appointment, so booked an evening meal at the nearby Jack Rabbit. We have to say that from start to finish we had an excellent dining experience. The table and ambience was ideal, a really welcoming atmosphere. The service provided by Kamila was warm, helpful and polite. An all round thoroughly enjoyable night, as general Patton said “we will return”.
Lovely decoration inside this pub, very cosy and warm, nice big fire in the middle, food was very avarage, the fish batter was bland for my liking and the peas to be honest. Reasonably priced. Probably wouldnt visit again. Mabe the rest of the menu would be better? Worth a try as the pub itself is lovely, easy access from car park, not to far to walk.
Excellent service all round, my friend and l were having a joint birthday celebration. The food and wine were perfect and we had a lovely day. In fact were trying to think of something else to celebrate 😂
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend, book in advance, as theyre very popular
They didnt have any record of our booking, so we had to sit in the bar and order and pay at bar. Failed to tell us they had run out of certain items. Side of vegetables wasnt served until we had nearly finished our main course.Food was good, service was very average.I will go elsewhere next time.
We had a lovely visit. The server, a lady with long curly hair was very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, we had the chicken pie.
Visited for Sunday lunch with a friend. Starter of two different plates with sourdough bread was delicious, especially the duck parfait. The roast dinner was very disappointing though. Plenty of gravy but the four slices of beef were tough and gristley, the Yorkshire pud was ok but have had better, the veg consisted of 2 roasted carrots and a dessert spoon sized dollop of shredded cabbage and 5 small roast potatoes which were hard and undercooked. I was underwhelmed especially for the money
The food was good and the menu varied. The setting could be improved by recovering some of the dining chairs which were tatty and bare down to the foam. Not very appealing to sit on.The staff were also friendly and helpful
Had a lovely evening out, food was great, our waitress Courtney was attentive, fun, personable and just over all amazing.
Absolutely amazing food, well worth the money.Friendly and accommodating staff, who, quite rightly, take pride in their restaurant. An amazing end to our anniversary trip.
Popped in here for a quick dinner after work with colleagues. Despite being fully booked, the waitress went out of her way to fit us in and couldnt have been more helpful. The food was presented quickly and was hot and tasty. Im not surprised its as popular as it is.
Great dinner here this evening, excellent food and service. A special mention to staff member Reggae who made my autistic grandsons evening with her patience and engaging personality. Well done
It was our first time dining here.I had fish and chips and my partner had ribeye steak. My fish I found the batter was just to thick. I didnt particularly like the batter either it really wasnt fantastic. Also it would be brilliant to have the choice of mushy peas or garden peas. I also had a sides of cheesey garlic mushrooms - not really ratable tasted like cream, garlic and cheese melted over the top - very bland. The ribeye was ok, again not anything special. My partner was advised it is best to cook ribeye medium, maybe so. However, really it entirely depends on the individual piece of steak. I told him I wouldnt risk going for medium, he likes his steak medium rare and cooking it medium rare wouldnt entirely ruin it for his taste however, medium would have. Both of us thought the triple cooked chips were really nice though. The service, there was a lady blonde curly hair shadowing another staff member who was lovely she seemed very friendly. The lady she was shadowing however, although polite I did not find approachable or overly friendly - its as if she should have been working in a far more up market establishment than here. The establishment was clean, outside could do with a quick tidy around nothing awful though. The bathrooms although clean could do with a deep scrub.Overall Im glad we had a 50% off voucher, unfortunately at present we wont be returning.
Similar to a harvester. Good quality food, plenty of choice . Decor a little tired in places. But good for a decent meal
It was very busy when we attended. But the Staff were lovely and the food was delicious. I had the sea bass.
Great food not had to wait long for it. Staff very accommodating....very pleased with service.
Lovely little pub and was very quiet today which was nice. Great staff and although i didnt eat today the menu looks very nice indeed
Popped in on the off chance there might be a table, quick service, good food and reasonable prices. Perfect mid week treat.
It is very tired. We have family in the area so we visit once a year. The difference from this year to last is unbelievable. The food was OK, my pate smelt funny and everything just looked sad. Even the staff, who have always been great were just not engaging. Sorry but we will not be visiting again, and could understand why it was so quiet!!!
Lovely reception, seated quickly, given menus and drinks order taken immediately. Food order taken when drinks where brought.Starters followed shortly after. Then the main course. Food was excellent and good value. Didn’t have much space for dessert and we where accommodated in sharing a dessert.Wonderful ambience, awesome service and amazing food. We will definitely be back.
The service first of all. Great lady waiting on us and those who brought the food. Good quality food. Fair price.
Visited for lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Both meals were tasty, well-presented, good value. Burgers, calamari, pizza all good. Cooked breakfast very good. (Pastries not so). Vintage Inn chain offer set range of beer on tap and wines, but good selection. Sign up for the dining-in loyalty via their app - some nice rewards available.
Pretty nice pub. I love the floor which is looking as new, very rare in England that is. The staff, I can’t say they are rude, but not polite either.. Average. But yes, overall a pretty nice pub!
We just had a lovely meal. All the dish we ordered were very nice and well presented , the staff was amazing and I also had a gorgeous gluten free option ! We will definitely be back !
I have eaten at this restaurant 3 or 4 times in the last 10 days whilst visiting at the local hospital. Every meal has been enjoyable and the service of Debra and Callum has been outstanding. Thank you both.
My husband and I had a lovely meal with our friends on 27/8/22, then we returned this morning 28/8/22 once again and had a lovely breakfast too. We would like to say that the lovely gentleman who served us on both occasions is called Thom. He is such a helpful friendly welcoming member of the staff. Once again thank you for our lovely evening.
Firstly our server Olivia was fantastic. My partner ordered the Calamari which was like rubber & dry but our main meals were lovely. The problem I have was that we were charged for the Scallops & Prawns that she swapped for the Calamari, surely as a jesture we should of only been charged for the Calamari as my partner didnt trust a second lot of it. I must admit it was our first problem we have ever had with the meals that we have had there before.
We had Sunday lunch here today. The food was alright, the pork was great though! Elena was serving us and she was brilliant! She was attentive without being overbearing and her service was quick and efficient! She was lovely!
Sunday roast was good meat was tender and assortment of veg. The trio of ice cream however left a lot to be desired. I sell ice cream and deliver scoop training. The scoops were size 10 standard is 20 . Only two flavours of icecream the rest sorbet. It was disgraceful and they charged almost £6 for this disgrace.
Debra, our server was awesome. Had the hunters chicken schnitzel which was amazing. Great place to catch-up with friends, and they sell diet lemonade - fabulous
The service was great. However one of our group had the fish cake with a poached egg. The egg was hard and not runny as it should have been. Appart from that it was fine.
Service a little slow given how quiet the pub was. Food was hot and tasty, though not worth its higher end price tag. Calamari £6.25, Pizza, incl. Chips was £14. Drinks is where they get you (as always).
Ive lived in Crownhill most of my life and the Jack Rabbit is a lovely pub and restaurant too pop in too for Sunday lunch or a team meal. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food was pretty good too however although I never eat the little token bit of salad you are given with the starter chicken wings it looked old and wilted or Id have given this place a 5 stars.
What an absolutely lovely Sunday roastThe service was just amazing could not do enough for you. The young waiter that served us was happy very very pleasant. The only down side my hubby could not have cheese cake as they ran out haha
Food is great. How ever the guy behind the bar is as exciting as a glass of water. He is extremely rude. And I thought it was a one off but every time Ive been there. He is so rude. Doesnt speak. Just taps the card machine to pay.Puts me off Im afraid. Else it would have been 5 stars. The other staff are very helpful and lovely. Im sorry you have to work with that gentleman. Such a rude person.
Yesterdays Sunday lunch at the Jack Rabbit was outstanding, not least because of Tom, who served us throughout the meal. From start to finish he was available to take our orders and help us through the process. Hes clearly a true professional, as his timing was impeccable, turning up at our table exactly when we needed him.He was so patient with us, as we all had different likes and dislikes and deviations from the menu. The food was excellent, and the presentation of all the dishes was so pleasing. Were visiting the UK from overseas, and this was a bit of a family reunion, so the Jack Rabbit has left us with a wonderful memory. Thank you.
Lovely pub with friendly staff and customers. Love the fact we can bring our pooch along too! Had a wonderful meal after work. 1000% will be back again!
Valentines Day Meal was excellent!! The value for money was unbeatable!! £23.95 for 3 courses, 3 courses of beautiful food. The food, the service and the atmosphere was just perfect. We dont eat here often enough. I decided to book here as it was where my partner and I had our 1st date. We were not disappointed. Compliments to the chef on valentines day, and thank you to the staff that looked after us. ❤️
Ate here last Friday with Friends (I was down visiting from Surrey). The table we was seated at wasnt in the best position. We were squished between 2 other tables with hardly any space between us and the table behind my friend. The table just felt out of place. However the cocktail I had was amazing! And the quality of food and service from the staff was fantastic.
Just really good.Couldnt fault it for value and service. Our waitress was superb 👏
Car park is shared with the hotel next door and can be hard to find a spot sometimes. Food was lovely, the meat on my duck salad felt a bit dry, but other than that, everything was very tasty with lovely presentation. One of our group members had a particular food allergy and they let us use their tablet to narrow down their menu by certain allergen. All in all, I had a lovely time and would come back for another occasion.
Great food, really good! Friendly staff, quickly served and hot. Reasonable pricing. Good atmosphere. I would seriously recommend to anyone.
A fantastic pub with great ambiance and a rustic countryside decor. Excellent service and delicious food selected from a varied and interesting menu. Pricing very fair. Ample parking and ideally located.
This was our second time weve been to the Jack Rabbit and we have enjoyed our experience on both occasions. Food is really nice, lots of homemade food and along with the atmosphere, it made really lovely dining experience. Waiting staff are friendly, professional but also able to have a sense of humour. Thank you Jack Rabbit, will definitely be returning one day soon.
This is our office "local" & we go there a lot. They have a very wide range of gins, ciders etc & a great food menu. The food portions are very generous but reasonably priced. Im a foodie & can honestly say that Ive never eaten a bad meal here. 14 of us ate here yesterday evening & a special mention & thank you must go out to the very patient & helpful waiter who calmly helped us split the bill & calculate discounts (no mean feat. This pub is adjoined to a "Travelodge" & therefore gets very busy after 6pm but the staff are well prepared to handle these peak times & service & food standards remain constant.
This evening was my first visit in 15 years and the place has seen a total refurbishment....... And I can say for the better.Previously the food and drink and service was below par.......... But now........ I can say that its a very accomplished restaurant that offers some of the best service and meals Ive had in Plymouth!I was here with 2 family members and we had 3 courses........ And really nice wine, gin and a cocktail or 2!The staff were really good too! Well done indeed! Definitely coming back!
