Description
Privilege
Great food, not too pricy, recommended
The gnocchi is a dream, the best I’ve ever enjoyed anywhere. Like a melty cloud of deliciousness.
MorePopular place but i was disappointed they served me a steak well done and you end up smelling like the kitchen since its not well ventilated.
MoreExcellent food, lovely atmosphere and great vibe. Highly recommend!
Nice high ceiling and a cute lunch spot. The polenta as an appetizer was great and the dessert as well. The rest of the dishes were good though kind of small for typical Uruguayan sizes
MoreThe food and service are exquisite. I loved the ñoquis.
Plain and simple place with nice music and good service. The menu is short but has some very nice dishes that make the difference.
MoreJacinto was one of the pioneers of good food in Uruguay, but, revisiting today, I feel it has not stayed on top. Today, we had a really average average experience after lunch. Three years ago, there was so much potential; now, it feels a little bit left behind. The space is still great, and perhaps the food is good, but where once I would say this was a go-to place, now maybe not. SADLY.
MoreI havent had such delicious food in a while! Ordered pescado del dia which was reineta that came with charred cabbage and some sort of almond sauce. Truly devine dining experience.
MoreExcellent meals, good choice of wines and awesome atmosphere.
Had a great meal here. The vegetarian options especially had very interesting textures and flavours. Friendly service. Would recommend!
MoreQuality of food, innovative menu, wine, ambiance, and value made us repeat customers during our time in Montevideo.
MoreBest Meal of the Trip! We are on a South American cruise and we found this place just easy walking distance from the port. The lamb was cooked perfectly and so tender, each morsel was delightful. The pork was also cooked perfectly with a delicious mashed sweet potato, and the special pasta of the day was a spinach, ricotta and mushroom gnocchi that blew me away!Reasonable prices plus great service made for an overall great experience. I wish I lived here. I would eat here every day!
MoreGreat ambiance, staff, interior and the delicious food goes that along with them. It is on such a special corner of the old town, right by Plaza Zabala. Romantic + calming! Diversity of the menu as well as the fresh ingredients were impressive. I think it is also perfectly priced for what they offer. I sure will be back.
MoreVery good food, a little expensive, waiters did go out of the way to give an extra dish. If your Sub-Continent or like spicy, this may feel a little bland.Portions are modest.Chairs are little hard, no place for jackets.
MoreGreat food at reasonable prices. Fresh ingredients and interesting preparations. Cauliflower with tahini, smoked chicken and soft boiled egg as well as beets with avocado puree were two outstanding selections. Good, if small, wine selection. Average but efficient service levels. Gets busy at lunch.
MoreVery enjoyable meal. Lots of vegetables options to go with an amazing steak... something that is rare in this town.
MoreI think it has very good food, but not better other restaurants that offer the same but with a cheaper price
MoreBest food in Montevideo! We tried everything on their menu, you cannot go wrong
Excellent impression. Food was good, service was good, nice and open people. A place that you should give a try if stopping by in Montevideo.
MoreI love Jacinto because its courses have so many ingredient and I always wonder "How do they make it work ?". Food is amazing here!!!
MoreGreat ambiance and good food. Service was quick and courteous. Recommend when in Ciudad Vieja.
MoreAmazing food. Make sure to hit every menu, theyre all amazing. Good selection of wine. Sit near the kitchen to get a good vibe.
MoreNice dinner here. Appetizers are quite sizable. Osso Buco Lasagna was excellent
Brilliant! Excellent food. Lovely vibe. Really lovely staff. Best meal I ate in Uruguay. Good value too, all things considered.
MoreExcellent steak fabulous atmosphere and great service (by young Noel). I m sure prices are at the higher end of the Montevideo scene but it’s totally worth it. Credit cards accepted
MoreVery nice cosy place with a super friendly stuff. The food looks great and it is really really tasty. Loved the rib eye steak with sweet potatoes.. Very week presented too.
MoreExquisite cuisine, very good service, perfect location. One of the best in town.
Great place for desserts and coffee with very friendly staff. The lemon cake and banana bread with dulce de leche are both delicious!
MoreThe food is quite good. Not typical for MVD. If you’re not in a rush and can wait, it’s worth a visit. The service is polite but slow.
MoreFood and service were great. Probably a bit expensive for Montevideo, but it was definitely worth it. It also has a very nice atmosphere.
MoreCreative, perfectly prepared dishes. The tartar and gazpacho soup were especially superb.
MoreFun, hip, modern little place in the old city. Excellent service, and the food was detailed perfection.
MoreOriginal without stop being traditional food. Relaxed atmosphere. We had a great meal.
MoreWe had reservations and welcoming was warm but right away after we seated they forgot about us, after 5 minutes I had to ask if there was a menu... Restaurant has two clearly disrinct rooms, one kind of a luxury saloon and the other one kinda like on one side were they serve and prepare table bread baskets and stuff, guess where we were seated at... Food definitely saved the night. Appetizers and entrances were superb but the main courses not that much but dont get me wrong they werent bad either, just good enough. In spite of all I would definitely recommend it.
MoreA beautiful, cosy trendy restaurant with a fantastic food and drinks menu. Low light and candles, cool furniture. My meal was delicious. Excellent service, staff can also speak English. Great location. Highly recommended! I might come back tomorrow...
MoreThis was a delicious accidental find. We enjoyed this restaurant immensely for lunch. Gleimy our server was cheerful, bi-lingual and knowledgeable of local seafood. Would return for sure.
MoreExcellent, creative cooking. Homey, cute atmosphere. Good service. Some issues with their reservations and hospitality - canceling existing reservations because they decide to take someone elses... not exactly the way to build a loyal clientele.
MoreGreat restaurant in the old town of Montevideo. The food is very good and quite experimental with its flavours. There is loads of choice and I ended up going for a few tapas dishes as I wanted to try as much as possible. Good service, wine and atmosphere. The only downside is the price... bit expensive.
MoreGreat place for a meal in the old town (Ciudad Viejaof Montevideo. Selection of farm fresh foods and fresh breads. If possible, make a reservation. Closed on Sundays.
MoreJacinto has improved and is now closer to the reputation it initially had. The menu while a little expensive is creative and there are some more adventurous dishes and salads on it. The breads are superb and it would suggest that the sandwiches are interesting. It is also open at night!
MoreOne of the best restaurants in the city.Delicious menu , home made bread and good wines. Located in the old part of the city. I really recommend it!
MoreThe food was good, I really enjoyed the breads that where served pre dinner. They make good refreshing juices and the service is quick and friendly. Strong WiFi available
MoreGreat place with exquisite, researched and tasty food, probably one of the best option in town. You can get even a good (not excellent!Lavazza ristretto. Definitely to try, however it is expensive for the value: 12usd a salad, 20-25 usd the main course.
MoreThis is one of the best restaurants in the area and they are open early in the day until pretty late at night. Its one of the more expensive restaurants in the area but worth the cost. The food and the people watching are great. The kale salad is amazing but everything on the menu is terrific and definitely save room for the dessert. Prepare to be amazed by the creative food and presentation.
MoreFood quality, ambience, service & pricing, the four pillars of a good eatery. This restaurant fulfils a lot of the above for me. The quality of the food is really good and the menus are interesting especially for someone from Europe. The on ambience is really great. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and the music is too loud or too invasive but here they have the music just right. Lighting also plays an important role in creating ambience & if u sit downstairs for dinner the lighting is ok but if u seated upstairs then all you get is a candle & this is just not enough lighting for me. I like to actually see my food. The waitresses were friendly and spoke English which was really helpful. Pricing, if your coming from rich Europe is very reasonable.I had a ribeye steak which was just marvellous & as was expected!Jacinto is well worth a visit.
MoreThere are restaurants and restaurants. Many that have pizza, pasta, meats, poultry, and fish, a little of everything, but not good at anything. Then you have places like "Jacinto". As stated in the NY Times travel section (March 16th, 2017- Millennial Entrepreneurs Give Sleepy Montevideo a Fresh Jolt, “leading the restaurant pack is the retro-chic and market-driven Jacinto, headed by Lucía Soria, an alumna of the famed Argentine chef Francis Mallmann. Ms. Soria frequently appears on television, participates in food festivals like Degusto and headlines as the top guest chef in supper clubs like Mesabrava.”She has a vast international experience, and is now one of the Judges in “Master Chef Uruguay”.I went to Montevideo twice this month, and obviously I went to Jacinto twice. From the home-made bread, to the meats, salads, and desserts, Jacinto is a must go place if you visit Montevideo. If you pay with an international credit card, Uruguayan law requires the establishment to discount the IVA (VAT, sales taxwhich is about 18%. Waiters are happy with a 10% tip, that can be added to your card, or you can leave more in cash if you think the service was outstanding.
MoreVery good food, real.discovery, innovative, delicate and tasty. Good beer and wine choice.
MoreGreat food. They did a good job supporting our large group and their service was great!
MoreThis place on Sarandi is quite popular, but I stopped there alone one weekday night and had a beer. Service was extremely inattentive - I had to track down my server to finally get a check so I could leave. Wifi was very weak. Not recommended.
