Classic, long-running fast-food chain known for its burgers, fries & shakes.
After covid, i finally ate Jumbo crab again in SG.This jumbo crab has to be an all time classic. There is no reason to give star 1,2,3,4.5 is fully acceptable rating.I will definitely go again. and again.
😉🙃🙂 Everything about Jumbo from Food to Service to Parking are definitely 👌. Also very near to the seaside which is good for strolling . However probably they should improve or install more advance or better performance fans for better ventilation. As not many old people are able to climb up to the air con sitting. 😄😁😆.
It is definitely one of the seafood restaurants on my list if I were to bring my foreign guests here. A convenient location near the airport is ideal for travelers arriving hungry or departing before they leave. Having a beach location is beneficial to those who prefer to take a leisurely stroll before dinner.
Always a delight coming here, dining alfresco style at night and enjoying sometimes a light breeze.Came here on a weekday night. Ordered our usual favorites - black pepper crab, yam scallops. Tried the squid fritters and the cod fish this time. All excellent!Service is just not back to normal back, due to manpower problems. But no complaints, every F&B is coping with it.
The food was great, especially the the prawn with cereal and chilli crab. Great ambiance, by the waters edge... however it took a while for the food to come to us and by the time it did, it was cold. This could be because they were busy on that particular day.Overall great experience. Recommended.
This is a 🇸🇬 Chinese seafood restaurant in East Coast and they have a few branches aswell. They are famous for the chilly 🦀 and other crab dishes depending on your taste. This restaurant is very popular and quite over rated, so do book in advance especially weekend. We went there at the weekend, the restaurant is damn pack with people, so you might wait at least 40 minutes for your chilly 🦀 😄. This place is really not that cheap, $700 sgd for 7 people including soft drinks. But we did order 3 small crab (800gdishes. The other dishes are very normal, nothing outstanding. But you wouldnt go wrong with this place.😊 eating chilly 🦀 😋
Nice old taste, overall the food was fresh. Just only the 油条虾, not so nice. The rest of the food was great, especially the Mee Goreng. Haha 😂 As for service, I am disappointed. Advise to all, try not to go on weekend. They cannot cope with the crowd although they trying their best but can tell the staff was frustrated. So don’t put any expectations on great service if you want to go this brunch.
First Jumbo in Singapore. First went there in 2017 and it was good! The wait for the crab is kind of long and we were hungry 😭😭 The seafood are all so fresh and good and we weren’t able to finish all the food. Portion is good.My bestfriend and I agree that we should only eat crab with family or close friends because we need to use hands and it can get messy!😂
Well located next to sea coast, good vibe. Came here for famous chilli crabs! Cant stop munching the fried buns which pair with crabs too. The scallop also in decent size, miss it already.
The chilli crab was perfect and super tasty. Staff were also friendly. Definitely worth a visit, if you are in the area and like sea food.
I have been here before about 6 years ago and back then had mixed feelings about this place. The location is nice and the weather was really nice during dinner which made the dining even more pleasant. There were lots of families and the place was busy. I came back here again because we had a staff guest moving NYC to our BKK office and stopping by SG for orientation before heading over there. We went here specifically for the chili crab (crab was really nicebut I found the chili sauce bland and a bit underwhelming. The pepper crab was definitely better. The rest of the dishes was quite good. I guess for chili crab there’s definitely other better places and you come here for the ambiance more with food secondary.
Chili crab is pretty good. The crab claws were not cracked well. We had a hard time breaking the shell. The other dishes are so-so. Very understaffed to serve the number of tables. Service is poor. I dont fault the workers. This is a management problem. Not worth coming back.
Every Jumbo branch is tasty. However this branch comes with a sea view and sometimes live music (busker nearby).
Not the fanciest Jumbo but my most preferred location due to ample parking and sea view. It also boasts a large indoor and outdoor seating area which is great for visitors! The food at Jumbo always meets expectations and my favorite addition to the menu is the chili crab sauce and buns!
Poor Food Quality and Service.Jumbo has been my usual place for chilli crabs, but I was in for a shocker this time. Not to mention the poor service from the manager and staffs .. firstly the manager seemed a bit impatient with our orders(rushing us to place the order and the attitude of the servicing is bad...multiple service bell is press but ignored)Secondly, The portion of the food is also disappointing..(eg. S$26 bucks for 8 mini prawns with miserable salted-egg sauce dont even want to mention their plating, 32 dollars for a few Cod fish bites).Lastly, their highlighted dish.. worth $162 bucks of Chilli-crab, is cold when service !!!It is like the price and serving of a fine dining restaurant but eating at the hawker.Guess the restaurant lost touch with the reasons that make it successful.Overall it was an expensive lunch with terrible food and service...they lost me as a customer and will not return.
A nice place to bring visiting friends and colleagues. Nice and clean environment, lots of seafood choices, and the cooking are very consistent too. The Mango dessert (see pictureis very very good; off course, Chili crab is a must order as well. Overall, happy to pay the price as you can expect good food, good quality, nice service, and an enjoyable night with your guest!.
Sad to say that Jumbo seafood quality dropped. Same dishes I ordered but doesn’t taste as good as before. Rice is like cook with rice crumbs. However the good thing is their service is still ok, that’s why I rated 3 stars.
The seafood restaurant is at an amazing location, with a seaside view and you won’t feel too hot due to the sea breeze. First off, this place is pretty pricey, so be prepared to splurge quite a large sum.I had their cod fish with spicy sauce ($32which tasted alright. It had a crispy outer skin and the sauce was good, but the fish wasn’t anything to write home about. For that price I was expecting more in terms of flavour but it was alright. The portion was really small as well. The sauce was pretty good though. The seafood fried rice ($22was pretty good. It had enough salt and the ingredients used was fresh. The bamboo clam with garlic ($16.8was really tasty as well. It had glass noodles and the sauce paired well with the clam. It was meaty and well seasoned and I’d highly recommend it.Finally on to the crabs. 800g of either black pepper or chilli crab would cost $78.40, so it is pretty expensive. For the black pepper crab, the pepper taste was not overpowering and just nice. For the chilli crab, the sauce was alright. It’s tangy and sour with a hint of spice. So it’s not just pure chilli, likely has some tomato in it. The pairing between the chilli sauce and mantou is great, so if you’re getting the chilli crab, get some mantou as well.Overall, it’s a bit more on the pricey end but it does have good seafood. So if you’re celebrating an event or it’s someone’s first time in Singapore, I’d recommend coming here to experience the seafood we have.Their seafood fried rice
Service has dropped a lot post Covid. Have to be more patient as there seems to be a lacked of manpower. Standard of food is still the same but service is really poor. No one changes your plate, top up hot water for tea etc. The call bell system does not work. Need to keep calling staff, taking of order takes 15 mins during dinner hours. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation or check out other outlets.
Came here on a Friday dinner at 6pm, the restaurant was already almost filled. Service was undeniably insufficient, shortage of service staffs made calling them almost impossible and every requests was fulfilled 10-15mins later. The highlight of my meal was the steamed bamboo clam in garlic w vermicelli, it tasted very fresh and tender, absolutely delicious! Their signature chilli crab was quite good, the sauce was more tomatoey than spicy, which probably appeal and cater to more kids and elderly. The rest of the dishes are decent, overall seafood tasted fresh and well cooked.I probably won’t come back to this outlet again as it is not as accessible and restaurant size is too big, hence service lacking overall.
Food was pretty good although I would have preferred it if the chili crab was warmer when served. The black pepper crab was very well done on the other hand. Overall, still a pretty good experience.
We came here twice. All the dishes are delicious. The view is beside the sea. We are seating outdoor during lunch time but not that hot. Windy. There are parking behind this restaurant.
Nice view of the sea. Reservations required as there is a long queue. Seafood dishes are great. Had the chilli crab with 1.5kg mud crab. Mee goreng was mild spicy, and not gooey or mushy. Crispy mini squid and fried bean curd with crabmeat as starters were a good choice. Understaffed though, and much patience needed.
Was delicious!!! Was close to drinking the sauce on its own type delicious. The fried buns were also so fluffy and so perfect w the sauce.
You enjoyed satay and seafood with reasonable price and good tastes.I think east coast seafood center is much better than satay by the bay and lau pa sat. If youd like to visit Local style and real local seafood, its good place for it.
Good, fresh seafood. The pepper crab was nice but a bit difficult and messy to get the crab meat out of the shell. The appetizers were all very good: drunken prawns, vegetables, tofu, clams and sesame squid rolls. It certainly isn’t a cheap place and it’s best to come in a group of 3-4 people. Overall, a solid restaurant.
One of the best place for Chilli 🦀. Due to Mothers day, the mud crab was sold out. So we order Dungeness crab instead. To my surprise, the crab tastes good too; its shell is soft and easy to crack. Taste just as good as mud crab. The fried pork rib was exceptionally good - fatty meat seasoned with honey and barbecue sauce 😋 .
The chilli crab was delicious. Staff taking order could have been more helpful in suggesting the portion that we should order for our group size. The small baby squid that we ordered was too small for our table of 7. Nice view of the sea.
A frequent customer - really love the freshness of the crab and bamboo clams! Usually will get the drunken prawn too. Service could have been better but understand that they are understaffed. They have a air conditioning area on level 2 and a ground level (where you can see the seawhich is warmer. Friendly service. May be inconvenient if you don’t drive and it’s raining.
BEST PLACE to get BLACKPEPPER CRAB and CHILLI CRAB in Singapore..hands downpersonally I prefer the blackpepper onefried rice also gooddont forget to order steamed or fried buns and dip them to the crabs sauce 👍better to have reservation before coming
1st May lots of people in the restaurant. Ordered 4 dishes and quite a wait for the first dish to arrive. The staff a senior age lady was serving us. 5 star service to her prompt and positive responses. Food were good and nice. But my only comment is the steam crab w/ chines wine which is not as good. 800g $78.40. I believe the chilli crab will be a better choice. Bamboo clam w/ garlic 100g $16.8 per pc. Overall spend $180.
Second time been here since 2019. It seems they dont give table napkip anymore. The chili crab is not as good as we had before. Too much tomato and more spicy. Vermicelli is a little salty. But the crab and lobster are fresh. The service is slow so we have to wait quite long to have the food and bill, but during limit 90min stay
This jumbo outlet has to be an all time classic. It’s been there for years and a place I have many fond memory of.I finally visited it after many years and finally took the liberty to take photos and post this review. Looking back, sometimes the food itself might not be the most modern looking or the best tasting or most value for money. However, if it is something you had since young with people you love and have fond memory of, despite the above you will still like it and come back to it, not often but perhaps for special occasions to reinvigorate those memories. For most, this place definitely need no further introduction, you would want to come here for their crabs - most distinctively their chilli crabs. I particularly enjoyed their black pepper crab as well. Like I said, most of the other dishes aren’t particularly outstanding but certainly it’s a place to have a gathering, enjoy some good food, take in the scenery and sea breeze, and create some fond memories to come back to.
One of the most famous chilli crab restaurant in Singapore. Located near the sea. Very nice view and windy. Therere both outdoor and air-con dinning areas to choose. Pre-booking is highly recommended.Need to show vaccine certificate before entering the restaurant.I personally think that the taste is quite sweet. The fried tofu in crab meat sauce is very good.
The service is really good and the food yes that’s value for money. I know they were busy and all but I felt no delays for food or drinks.
The food is tasty and fresh. Ordered the bamboo clam and it is done just nice. The meat of the clam is not rubbery and taste of the vermicelli noodles is just nice. The mocha rib is nice, not overly sweet, with the nice aroma of mocha plus the meat is not tough at all.Overall the food is good. With the the price slightly on the higher side of things.
The seafood here was really fresh. The standard maintain well despite COVID-19 pandemic. Worth to come back again and again.
Be awhile I have not be in Jumbo seafood at East Coast. The food was very nice also yummy and the staff very friendly. I wanted order more the food but two person only so can eat few dish. The sambal belacan was so yummy. The lamb was yummy also soft. I am so full with the food.Nice 😍😍😍❤️
Last 14th of Feb. we went there with my friends to celebrate hearts day. After we sit on our table, we waited for 15 to 30mins just to order our food. And after serving one dish, we will wait for another 30mins. for our next food to arrive. The food is ok, I might say as average unlike the first time we went to this place. Some of the staff are quite slow, like taking their own sweet time to serve the food. I pity the team leader on that shift, he is doing multi tasking, in which the other staff should be the one doing it.After we finish p our food, we waited for a hour just for somebody to collect our payment, and give us the receipt. The experience is not good. It is really a disappointment. Considering they are known to be on one of the best restaurant for chili crab.
The Food Standard Overall Dropped. My Bamboo Clam Not Cleansed Properly, Had Sand Inside N Served Cold. Mee Goreng Taste So So. Staff Quite Friendly. Overall Not A Good Valentines Day Dinner For Me.
Jumbo its pretty much a safe bet for great seafood and the East Coast location is unbeatable. Here is what I can add:Food wise, we stuck with the king of Sinpaorean seafood, the mud crab. Choose the signature black pepper sauce and boy was it delicious. First of all, the crab was of fabulous quality. Big chunks of succulent meat wherever you dig in. The black pepper sauce has a distinct creaminess, almost buttery. Also it is less tangy than elsewhere. Shrimps in golden egg sauce were nice, so was the steamed seabass. Note that both mud crab and sea bass are alive on premise, so you pay by weight. Special shout out to the asparagus with XO sauce, which was an impeccable veggie dish.Beverage wise, they have Tiger on tap which is always a perfect pairing with seafood. For those with a taste for some wine they have a few bottles around and the Sauvignon Blanc by Cloudy Bay we ordered was another perfect seafood match. An obvious draw here is the laid back location just along the coastline. Once the sun settles and the evening breeze comes up this is a pretty relaxed affair. So if you are a traveller in Singapore, like me, and you want to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown, come here. Just make sure you make a reservation for dinner service to get the outside front row tables.
Absolute amazing place to eat "Chilli Crab". The other food is very tasty too. This is a very special place and on "Chinese new year" is perfect to stay there. Absolute recommendation for a unbelievable evening dinner, specially in groups of 5 people. The tables are bookable online and by phone, the service is good.Try it!
Old trusted Jumbo outlet especially for its outdoor seating area by the seaside. The place has come a long way since the 90s where the outdoor area is not covered and the upper storey is not air conditioned.Generally fast service, though not the best compared to some other outlets. The quality of the food is still as good, though they have made some adjustments like the chilli crab gravy has gone through some changes. The nicest part is at the end of the dinner where you can take a scroll along the beach line for a relaxing evening.
Quality seafood. Good services. Nice ambience. But very overpriced. One lobster sashimi. One piece black pepper crab. One piece Chilli crab. One plate fried noodles. 2 small bowls of shark fin soup = $400.And I’m pretty disappointed with their Chilli crab which is supposed to be their signature dish. I think their standard for the Chilli crab has dropped. I find the black pepper crab much nicer.
Glad to see them operating and fully booked for dinner on Saturday evening. We had drunken prawns, sliced beef, steam soon hock, asparagus, squid, bamboo clams. Everything was fresh, well prepared and tasted great. Friendly and efficient service too.
The food is consistently good over the years. Amazing dinning experience and service is top notch. Highly recommended restaurant for a good seafood dinner here in Singapore.
Nice ambience with the sea surrounding you. Friendly service staffs and quality food. Manager Dominic very polite and very helpful. Will visit again soon 👍🏼
12/12/21The sotong you tiao average taste. Doesn’t taste like sotong. The fried baby squid and mocha pork rib are good. Rather unique taste for the mocha ribs. The crab is quite good but not really fantastic. Think they added peanuts into their sauce which gives the sauce added flavour.
First time dining at the Jumbo East Coast branch! The highlight of the meal is the bamboo clam & chilli crab - so fresh & tasty! We were seated outdoor so we enjoyed the sea breeze & sun set as well! Will sign up for the membership when I head down in the future as it will be more worth.
Havent been back since the pandemic started. Managed to get a table on a Friday night and it was packed. The service was swift. We tried a new item scallop wrapped in a mini yam basket - the yam tasted great but didnt seem to pair well with the scallop which was halved and bland. The mini deep fried squid was good as before. We also had chilli crab, the sauce is still great but didnt think crab was the usual standard. Overall the food were not piping hot when served.
