Island Hut - Restaurant in Bremerton, United States
Very delicious and well priced food, just be careful of some suspicious people in the area.
I got the Loco Mocha like I usually do and it was so good! Very authentic tasting, great price, and the lady was very friendly. Would definitely come back again.
The food is DELICIOUS with generous portions, and the family who runs it are phenomenal community members. <3 you guys!
I got the bombucha plate lunch that included chicken katsu, teriyaki beef, kalua pork, a scoop of mac salad, and a scoop of rice. I love Hawaiian food and lived on Oahu for 8 years and I have to say this is honestly the best, most flavorful of each than I’ve ever had. I’m blown away by how delicious this place is. I’ll definitely be back. I wanna try everything in their menu now!
Their food is SO GOOD! It’s really well prepared, with a lot of flavor!!! The beef teriyaki is really good! The bombucha plate is very complete and super yummy!
Best bang for your buck! Amazing tasting food and fantastic staff!! We will be coming back!
Perfect 5 Star Ethnic Cuisine & Excellent People!! Try it Out or Else youll be Missing Out!!
No way! They appeared to be completely disorganized! Had to go to the corner store several times to get supplies, lumpia ( no Luna lumpiawhich is supposed to be hand made vs frozen processed version. Someone ordered the spam dish , no spam walked to corner store bought spam, no seaweed so back to the store they went! Really not even the basics , ordered chicken stir fry took 30 minutes I can only guess they had to go get the chicken! Only veggie in the stir fry was cabbage and carrots and they were burnt! I had food from here before that was good which is why I went back! Very disappointed, if this is the level and quality I won’t be back!
Amazing food and friendly service...i love this place!!
Unprofessional! & the food is terrible. I recommend finding ANYWHERE ELSE . Im horrified.
The food is amazing! Takes me back to living on the island so many years ago. Always fast, friendly service! Love the Bombucha plate!
Very friendly people... Good food ....They help in our community to feeding people sometimes or donations for the community.
Great family place. Really friendly and generous portions of yummy food.
Sooo delicious! Friendly service. Curbside pickup. Reasonable price.
Love this place always has great food, amazing portions, and the best family running it you could ask for
You wont find it better! From the food to the service. This place is incredible. Genuine people here, the kind of small business that makes you want to spend a little extra and support their business.
Great food great customer service.. I will be going back very soon
My kids love coming here for lunch! If they had it their way, we would come everyday.
Delicious food and wonderful people. They are feeding the community with free kids meals throughout the Covid crisis.
Such amazing people! And their food is so yummy! Customer for life!
These folks at this place are great. Warm and friendly. The free kids food they are give out is an amazing thing.
Great food, great people, wonderful atmosphere. 10/10, we will be back
This place is so good! I saw them appear on Facebook last month and couldnt wait to try them out once I saw how close they were to me. The menu looked really good, and I have never tried Hawaiian food except for from one of those cheesy chain places in Arizona.I actually wanted to be the first person to review this place but someone beat me to it darn it.My son and I went to go try this on a lazy Saturday afternoon. We pulled into the parking lot and found a spot right up front with no issue, but I can tell this lot fills up pretty quickly, so finding parking could be an issue from time to time. I would assume especially during lunch and dinner times. When we arrived, it was pretty much empty with the exception of one other table wrapping up their food. The cashier is so friendly as well as the cook. Im pretty sure they were the owners and they both greeted us with big smiles. We sat down to wait and enjoyed their complimentary water. Once the other guests left, the cashier offered us the remote to the television mounted to the wall in case there was something else we wanted to watch. I found that to be a super sweet touch. The place itself is very small and a bit of a dive. The tables are old and wobble and theres not much decoration aside from a couple flags and the TV. The kitchen is separated by a curtain which allowed all of the delicious smells and BBQ smoke waft into the dining room and make my stomach growl like crazy. I could tell we were being saturated in the smoke and I couldnt wait to eat this food. Every time the cook walked by the order window, I got excited. It did take a while to come out, but that only means one great thing, that its made to order and from scratch instead of taken out of some heating bin.The first food to come was the 5 piece Lumpia we ordered to share. They were golden brown and soooo crispy. Filled with delicious ground pork and veggies. I have zero complaints about this Lumpia and is my favorite Lumpia in Bremerton so far. Next to come out was my sons order which was Beef Teriyaki. After taking one bite of the beef, his eyes lit up and he INSISTED that I try a bite of it right away. This kid never does this, and is usually the type of person who only eats because hes hungry and not because he cares about flavor so it really made an impression on me when he was so excited by the flavor of this beef. He wasnt wrong, it was amazing. Best teriyaki beef, if not just straight up grilled beef Ive ever had. The choice of meat along with whatever they marinade it in was the perfect combination of savory and sweet with just the right amount of fat on the meat still. My order came out next which was the Loco Moco. Ive wanted to try Loco Moco for years and finally had my chance. It was really good as well. The burgers were a little overdone for my liking, but I know Island cooking is usually always on the overdone side, so no complaints. The gravy was tasty and the mac salad on the side wasnt too shabby if not a little bland, but again Hawaiian mac salad is different than what most are used to, much more simple. The prices were great, and we were completely full when we finished. He could only finish half his plate and the two of us could only eat two Lumpia each before calling it quits. We had leftovers for his mom which she appreciated and nibbled on all night. All in all, Im so glad this place has opened up, and I need to be careful how often I eat here, otherwise I may get very large! I can see they have a lot of support from their friends and family and also there were return customers coming in saying "were back!" when we were leaving so it looks like theyre on the path to success here in Bremerton. I cant wait to go back myself and try the other menu items like the pork and chicken dishes and maybe try my hand at taking some pictures since the ones up so far just arent doing the food justice.
Great food served by great people! Try the loco moco, its life changing!
If I could give them two 5-star ratings, I would. One for their amazing, authentic food and one for their service to people living in Bremerton, literally keeping people housed and working hard to get others off the street. My kids also enjoyed the welcoming, family atmosphere.
Not only is the food first rate and the environment cozy the owners and staff are so warm and friendly. They sell out of things fairly quickly so plan ahead!
I love that its a family business often went there for their lunch special its our family favorite we see family come in to support their business and to just share their love and I think we need more places that just are warm and friendly and feel like youre going to your Aunties place for lunch I love it
Been a little hit and miss. When its good its stellar. Especially the katsu. The times it has been a little off, it was still satisfactory. Kahula pork is a no miss. Always great.
Ever since I returned from vacationing on Kauai I have been on the hunt for authentic AND delicious Hawaiian food. This place certainly hit the spot today. A little hole in the wall place, it definitely reminded me of some of the hole in the wall gems we found in Hawaii. Operating on what can only be described as "Island time," it definitely had an authentic feel to the vibe of the place. So, what does that mean...? Its not fast food. You will probably have a bit of a wait, even if its just you in the place. But thats okay, with the delightful sounds coming from the Polynesian influenced music and the smell of delicious food, it will feel like no time at all. My boyfriend ordered the BBQ chicken with Mac salad and I had the ever so taditional loco Moco which was spectacular.
oh so ono! best hawaiian food. closest thing youll find to real good hawaiian food. made with love.
Food was good. Staff alone would get 5 stars. Relaxed come as you are atmosphere. Reminds me of Hawaii.
A I cant believe this place was right under my nose all this time. I had the bombucha plate. Its a carnivores dream. Kahlua pork and Terri steak are excellent. Chicken katsu (cutletwas amazing. I know its a chicken cutlet right? No it was the best thing I have had thats breaded and fried ..ever maybe. It is definitely on my radar now. Will be going often
Born and raised in Hawaii...So I know what local food taste like and this is by far the closest thing to it!! I have tried every hawaiian food joint in the Kitsap area and I can honestly say this is DA BEST!!! The menu is simple, The food ONO (taste goodand they give plenty! I had enough for lunch and dinner!!!! Prices are very reasonable too. My plate lunch (chicken cutletwas under 10 dollars. I heard the teriyaki beef is to die for, so the next time I am going to try that. Talked stories with "Mama" there, it was like being home again.
Not just food but LOVE on a plate! Hands down the most "Ono" around🤙🏽
They have amazing food...great service...Love the family atmosphere
Great food, portions, and prices. Cooked to order, and worth the wait. Will be going again.
Was ok food over all could have had bigger portions the service was definitely awesome though
Amazing food and always great customer service. The portions are filling and always made with love. I recommend the Kahlua Pork and Cabbage or the Loco Moco.
The food was delicious, just like the food I grew up with. Very friendly staff.
Great food and friendly staff. Highly recommend trying.
Friendliest service Ive ever had. Most authentic Hawaiian food Ive ever had in Washington. Enough said.
I love this place!!!! Makes me feel like Im at home whenever I walk in. Food is great!!! Service is wonderful and prices are reasonable, but the environment trumps it all!!! Love love love!!! Everyone needs to check it out!
Very good comfort food. My last time it was a little burnt but they treat you great :)
The staff is always so friendly, I usually get the Musubi. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends
Maybe I just havent developed a taste for Hawaiian food, but I wasnt blown away. Saimin was pretty much pho with extraordinarily cheap ingredients, but a delicious, smoky broth. Beef teriyaki was on the good side of average. Pork and cabbage was salty but decent.
Lil hole in the wall joint. Great food. Super mom n pop. They won best bite of bremerton too. That should tell you something right there
Food is delicious and large serving. Great prices and nice staff.
Loved it! My husband is a local and he lovedloves it too! We will be going back
I ordered the BBQ chicken plate for take out. Enjoyed talking with MOM while I waited. Food was delicious.
Delicious food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely come back!
