Isla Punta Arena - Tourist attraction in Cartagena, Colombia
Isla Punta Arena in Cartagena
Description
Privilege
Bbb
You can get a boat here from the hospital in Boca Grande for 10k each way. The beaches here are not nice though and every place with beach beds wants to rip you off. For a day trip is ok or perhaps get some all inclusive package in one of the nicer places.
MoreExcellent beach

Skip it, waste of time.A lot of sellers that wont leave you alone if they see you’re a tourist. The bars are dirty, sand on the tables, a lot of flies, too many people, it doesn’t look clean at all.The beaches are not really with a crystal clear water…Overall, I did not like it.
Moredepending on the area you might be on the "rocks" area and the beach looks a little bit dirty, the food and prices are okey, the travel from and to main land takes about 10min in a small boat
MoreAmazing place to have fun, swin and cheer.
Bad spot, I dont recommend it. Very little space at the beach, to crowded, water was not so clean. The food was good though.
MoreGreat time here, excellent attention from Jamaica Beach Pub and Grill
Beautiful
Uff super
Amazing place
Very beautiful beach with lots to do
One of the Best beaches I Enjoy it with my Wife.
A very nice and cozy beach 15 minutes from Cartagena, great food too
Decent beach if you cant make it to Badu. Cheap with beach side service.
Great place to have beers and enjoy ask the prices first never drink with out ask prices
MoreGreat beach day trip. Settle in at one of the restaurants and chill with cold beers and some fried fish.
MoreNot worth the trip. The boat was the highlight of the whole journey. Nice people though!
MoreBeautiful island just be on your a game make sure they dont take you for a fool
Nice and clean water very bad service and too expensive. No one had any ice at this place
MoreNice, white sandy beach just 15 minutes outside Cartagena with an amazing view of the skyline. Food and drinks are slightly higher priced than on the mainland, but definetly still reasonable!
MorePunta Arena is a very nice, white sand beach, not very crowded and only a 10 minute boat ride from cartagena.
MoreNice beach just across from Cartagena. Not as crowded as Playa Blanca, less pesky vendors and much closer. Need a boat to cross.
MoreWonderful time... I love punto arena!!!
Very nice and clean beach it costs 5-7500cop on a lancha from Castillo to get to punta arenas.Tables with parasol are free if you consume or eat.Not many beach sellers there, which is so nice!
MoreNice beach close to Cartagena. Needs a lil bit of clean up.
For what it is I had a great time. There were stray dogs there, it wasnt very clean and youre still heckled to buy things by the occasional foot vendor. Its still way better than the beach on the mainland.
MoreOk beach, typical tourist trap. Be sure to detail every cost, they will try to add charges for just about anything.
MoreNice relaxed place with tasty food. Recommended for couples looking for a place to chill by the beach away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
MoreVery nice to pass one day on the beach.
Unbarable beach vendors. Stayed 5 min, our boat drivers introduced us to a vendor on the Beach as soon as we got off and he literally walked beside or behind us all the way up and down the beach until we had the boat return us to main land. Cartagena needs to make and enforce regulations for their tourism, its pretty much a free for all here.
MoreNothing special but if you need to get away from Cartagena proper its okay for the afternoon
MoreGreat view of the skyline from Tierra Bomba! It was also very close, only a 10-min boat ride away!
MoreThere are really more beautiful beaches that you can know in Cartagena. Also, it is crowded, and vendors will bother you all the time. If you wanna go, go to the port and book yourself one “lancha”, rather than buying a plan. It’s cheaper and you can manage yourself the time.
MoreBomba hostel definitely fab place to relax! Hammocks, swinging beds and sea to swim in. Nicer than in Cartagena. Great service too. Get there early as gets filled up quickly. We got there for 9am. Boats cost between 15-20,000 COP one way or less depending how good you are at haggling. Place on beach costs 25,000 COP per person.
MoreIts a cute little getaway from downtown but nothing really special about this place. I got ripped off by a taxi driver(said it would be difficult to get a boat so his friend can helpand the boat didnt arrive at the time it promised. Do not pay both ways for they will force you to. Pay maximum 10,000 one way.
MoreYou want to relax, here is your best option in Cartagena hands down
It is a quick 10 min boar ride to the beach Tierra Bomba, Food was good. Beach is okay because there is a lot of trash in the water.
MoreVery nice beach only a couple minutes by boat from boca grande. Watch out that you don’t pay more than 10.000cop per ride pp. talked to one guy who asked 60.000cop for the ride. I guess it’s because of my blond hair. In the end he did it for 10.000 anyway haha. So don’t be fooled. The beach on the island was very nice with not too many tourists and the venders will not bother you too much. The lunch over there was quite expensive. For 30.000 you get a fresh fish with coconut rice, a little salad and patacones. Probably negotiable but the lady was nice so we didn’t bother. Didn’t have to pay for a place in the shade as we had lunch there. All in all I would say it’s definitely worth to go as it’s not too far and comparable cheap to other trips!
MoreNice place to reset, is very calm if you want to share time with you couple.
Beautiful place, beautiful beach.
Most expensive caipirinha Ive had in my life (no lie, uptown Amsterdam is cheaper)! And then these people tried to charge us for the chairs we sat on (for a whole daywhen we just passed by for a drink. What a ripoff.
MoreNice alternative to Playa Blanca. Not ad for, cheaper to get there, and not many locals trying to sell their stuff. Nice white sand beach.
MoreIt is forbidden to relax on this island. There are more sellers than visitors. Not enjoyable.
MoreNice Beach, 10min by boat, take it in the hospital of Bocagrande and bring your snacks.
MoreGood turistic ambient and very cool, the beach is one more beautiful from cartagena
MoreGreat time, wonderful view.
The pictures dont do it justice! When in Cartagena, this IS A MUST. My girlfriend and I stayed at The Beach Hostel Cartagena. Spend a bit more to have less people around you this keeping your mind at peace with leaving your belongings while you swim. Food is great and drinks are cheap!
MoreAmazing spot to take a break from Cartagena. Visit The Beach Hostel for the best spot and service! They work with the locals of the island for mutual benefit and you know your good time is helping others.
