Irrintzi - Tapas bar in Basauri, Spain
Good place for pintxos. Must try the duck and apple!
Great variety of pintxos, freshly-made with great flavours with a twist. The duck with apples was 10/10.I recommend visiting the place on Friday or Saturday. Our second visit was on Monday evening and the experience was totally different. Microwaving pintxos was unexpected and worked against the initial great flavours.
Very accommodating for gluten free! Its hard to find Pintxos for us coeliacs so I really appreciated all the options.
Really wonderful selection, combining classical pintxos with modern twist. Good prices, nice wines.
In one word ‘WOW’. If you’re celiac or eat glutenfree, go here. The GF-pinxtos are better than the standard pinxtos. It feels very, very local and is located in a cool street just on the outskirts of the centre..
Good pintxos here. Very funny bartender (the lady, the dude let the side down a bit)
High quality meals, great eggs and schnitzel. Great price.
Great for gluten-free. You have to tell them you are gluten free when you enter. Then they will give you a menu of what gluten free things they can offer. I will attach the picture. Then, each time you go up to the bar and ask for a new pincho, you NEED to specify you want the *gluten free* version. They will make it for you in the kitchen in the back. Excellent options for gluten free people!! And each pincho is only 2 euro, you keep going up and ordering until you’re done and you pay.
Very disappointed. We tried three pintxos- one of them was the solomillo de pollo with kimchi. The chicken was completely raw which my husband only noticed after biting and eating it. Sent it back and they gave us another but by this point we felt a bit put off. They did not compensate us and charged us the full amount.
Nice pintxos gluten free
Went because it was recommended on Euro Tunnel. Absolutely delicious 😋 Pintxo’s! Japanese/Chinese influence some . Very high quality and great service too!
Just had pintxos with my 8 years old there, on a saturday evening. Pretty quiet as we went around 19h. Nice, homemade food. Very reasonable prices.
Overrated in reviews. Tapas not extraordinary, maybe atypical. Dirty bathroom, unfriendly staff
Small but cozy place. Food is good and reasonably cheap.
Ive heard about the fame of pinxtos in the north of Spain, but still was impressed by the delicious pinxtos in this restaurant. Seriously, you guys have to try, the duck with peanut sauce for example. The beer is 2.5€ and every pintxo is 2€. Worthy perfectly.
Amazing and innovative tapas. 100% recommend. Best tapas in Bilbao so far.
Food is very good and probably one of the best pintxos places in Bilbao. It is also very cheap (10€ all you can eat pintxos plus the price of beverage). The only bad point its that some of the pintxos should be eaten hot in order to be fully tasted
Good value. A little too inventive for the traditional tapas we were looking for. But worth a trip.
Irrintzi was one of the pintxos bars that Ive visited during my stay in Bilbao. My visit was at noon time after lunch time therefore it was crowded but not over crowded, we found a space after minutes of waiting. Their pintxos were mostly over the bread type and at the time that we visited there were 10-12 variations. I noticed that they were renewing the food at a good pace and in every 5-10 minutes several new meals showed up. Most of the food that I tried was delicious especially croquettes and seafood.
Not a bad spot for a couple of beers. Didnt have pinxtos but they looked good.
Simple, cheap, no frills snack and deliciously flavoursome food. Take a plate from the bar lady, choose your pinxtos, order your drink and pay, simple. Labels on the pinxtos are printed in spannish and English on the reverse so you know what youre choosing.
One of my favourite pintxos places in Bilbao. I’ve been to Bilbao on 3 separate occasions & I always end up here. Any of the pintxos are worth a try & very reasonably priced drinks
Really tasty pinchos, a bit pricy but worth it as they were really different to what we had in other places.
Get here quite early as things seem to quieten down earlier in bilbao than the rest of Spain. You chose what dish you want from the bar (they are coldand pay at the end. Pleasant eating experience.
Great variety of tapas with a twist of exclusivity. The personal speaks English and is happy to answer questions
Great laid-back bar with allot of different dishes for the local version of "tapas" called pintxo
We had delicious pinxtos, all fair priced and we were allowed to pick our own. The bartender was really busy but still got to everyone in good time. We were lucky to get a seat at the bar because it was very busy on a Saturday.
Maybe we were unlucky or arrived too late (16:00but all five pinxtos we chose seemed old with stale bread. Worst pinxtos on our trip.
Fantastic place to try Bilbao pintxos (tapas), everything different, great taste and good price
Could be we were there at the wrong time (14:00but the tapas were all pretty stale and old (you select your own from the bar). I can imagine it being good when freshly prepared, but now everything was cold and at least 4 hours old. The decor is good enough.
Not so good, not so bad. We thought if finding a lot of vegetarian options (according to their fb pagebut there were only one vegetarian and one with fish ..thats all ! Over all they had just 8 different tapas and none of them was really good.
Very affordable and authentic experience! Experimental and delicious tapas and the wine was fab too.
I almost didn’t go in as it was early and the bar somewhat empty, but I’m so glad I did! The tapas piled up on the bar fresh from the kitchen and having planned to have one and a beer and move on, I ended up having five, as they were just outstanding, and different to the normal offering. The duck with caramelised apple crisp and the leak carpaccio with Serrano ham and octopus especially stood out, as well as the great value and delicious red wine. Highly recommended! Just make sure you go with space for several tapas as you won’t be able to stop at one! Friendly and attentive service just topped it off perfectly.
Very good pintxos, friendly service. Prices reasonable, I would visit again.
THIS PLACE♥️In my humble opinion they are the best pintxos in Bilbao quality price. Their cuisine is fusion between traditional basque flavours and European or even Asian dishes. They care a lot about presentation and they are not ‘toast-with-something-on-top’ but mini mains where the flavours where perfectly balanced. I will never forget the octopus carpaccio with potato mousse on top, to die for. 😍
Very good pinchos and fair prices, if I have time I will definitely try it again 🤤🤤🤤
Great atmosphere, nice service, awesome food. Each pintoxs is 1.9 euro, and the strawberry cheesecake is 3euros, good price with good food
The Pintxos are just great. To some, they might be a little too fried or oily, but for me all of the food here tasted so good! As Im writing this, pintxos are 1.90 each. The staff was also extremely nice, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxed compared to other places we had been to. No great beer though.
Surprised us with how great it was, food was fantastic, quite busy, worth sitting for a while to see what foods brought out coz the really good stuff goes quick
Great atmosphere, excellent variety of pinchos. Highly recommended. Good value.
Had a fantastic Sunday afternoon at this bar. Beer choice was fairly limited but the Pintxos were amazing, just help yourself and remember to count how many youve eaten so you can let staff know. We really enjoyed the different seafood Pintxos that were available, also the pork belly with prawn Pintxos was amazing.
Definitely the best place un Bilbao to get a nice advice about wines. The pinxos are absolutely fabulous and for vegetarians too.Do not miss it ;-)
Good variety, but there are better places around. Pintxos were on a stale bread and tasted as if they were prepared 2days ago. The lady behind the bar handed me a dirty plate, which I had to return without her even apologising for it being dirty. Made me wonder if these pintxos are prepared the same way...
Not sure what the rave is about. Regular pintxos, save for the Chinese take out box. No hot plates to order.
A fairly plain bar with some amazing pintxos. During the week they have a fairly small collection of pintxos on the bar but they keep bringing fresh stuff out, its worth the wait
No frills, youth-cafe style. Friendly enough and the self-service pinxtos promise well, but are mediocre. Fun if your friends are here, but otherwise not a destination.
Great food, friendly staff - we visited on a Sunday when the whole of Spain was sleeping but Irintz managed to have a lively scene. Great crawfish and squid pintxos!
Visited on Aug 2nd 2016What a disappointment! Seduced by all the nice reviews we went there in search for an interesting pintxo, but we ended up getting stale, cold, deep fried stuff. It was like a slightly healthier Minnesota State fair, but with cold food and a day old bread. Flavour combinations are promising, and would be worthy the 3 star review had they been well made/fresh. The only thing worth mentioning was the octopus which although cold (and on a stale bread), was well prepared and quite tasty even cold.Im sure there are good pintxos bars, this just isnt one of them.Tldr if you are willing to pay a bit more, go to Guggenheims bar. Otherwise look further.
A great place for Pintxos - one of the best I found in Bilbao. Much like the city, its a little rough around the edges, but that just adds to the charm.
I was very excited due to the reviews, but we arrived at about 14.30 and they only had room temperature Pinxos. I will pass on the beer next time, but will check out the food at busy times. This has promise.
