Iron Horse Pub Waterbury - Bar in Waterbury, United States
Super cool spot that was very friendly and had awesome service. They have two different bars. The place is packed to the gills on Wednesday for trivia night.
Terrible service. Came on a Friday and didn’t get any service for more than 1 hr. Nobody asked if we needed a drink or anything. We ended up walking out. Waste of time
This is the most tremendous bar in town with the best coldest beers! Awesome happy hour with dollar slices and great wings and other specials too! Gret attentive staff that is allways doing their best to make their customers happy!
Dear person, this place is amazing. Sher gave us the best service and was so nice. Not sure I will ever not come here on a Friday night again.
Been coming here for months for trivia on Wednesdays. We look forward to seeing Molly every week when we’re able to reserve a table! She’s so fun, friendly, attentive, and always willing to accommodate any special request we have. Despite the chaotic trivia atmosphere she is always calm and collected and makes everyone feel like a regular. Mark behind the bar is the best!! Never fails to make the best drinks, one of the coolest bar tenders I’ve ever had. Love seeing him on nights we chose the bar rail. Overall great atmosphere, excellent food and really great times had by all!
A local institution with great atmosphere (particularly during trivia), a great menu and most importantly great service! Mark behind the bar is exceptional and always treats his guests like family! Molly the server is very friendly and attentive as well!
My Father and I went to this place and had a great time. Their NY Thin Style Pizza was excellent! And this is coming from someone who lived in Brooklyn NY for over a decade. Our server was Shana/Shannon?....who couldnt have been more attentive and Polite. Whats more impressive, she was also responsible for walk ins along with tending to tables.
Good food and atmosphere. Love coming here
Mark, the manager, was a consummate professional, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend
Tried twice in 2 days to eat here. The first day we pulled in and were told that if sitting outside there would no outside service but could get a drink and bring it out. The other room where the bar is was open to outside and we were told that there would be a function going on there. We left. 2 days later, we came back. Sisters wanted to eat outside, but it was warm and there were too many flies. We went in and were seated in a booth near front. There were so many flies inside of this establishment that we all decided we could not stay and eat there. It was horrific. Unfortunately, we never even got to try the food.
Great food, environment, and people. Always a good time!
This place went downhill when the previous manager left.
Terrible. Burgers burnt to a crisp. Waited forever for burnt food. Lots of staff. Not sure why no one was paying attention to our food. Previous experience much better. Now wont go back. We were really hungry. 😞
My wife and I were up in that neck of the woods and we had top stop in and have some Peoples choice pizza something we miss since they arent in Southington anymore.
If your fortunate enough to get Kayla as your server like we did, your in for a treat. Great service, we got everything we wanted and more. I could not ask for a better experience and the pizza 🍕 here is delicious 😋 so was tge rest of our food.
Best pizza in Connecticut! Wonderful environment and friendly staff.
Wonderful experience! We go here almost weekly! Great beer and food.
This is the place you want to go for a a great dinner, great drinks and amazing service! Beers on tap are a perfect mix of local craft breweries and simple reliable options like bud light and yeungling or yuengling...listen you try spelling it without looking it up. The food is always amazing between just the appetizers to the full meals you cant go wrong! Finally the service from everyone here is perfect, food and drinks come out faster than the drugs at a party hosted by Steven Tyler and Charlie sheen but I digress. You will definitely love it once you get here and you will hate to leave when the food is gone and the beers empty trust me, also shout out to Emily, Sheridan and Mark for making our quick trip out turn into an outstanding night looking forward to seeing yall again!
The waitress was so disrespectful around 3pm on April 8th. My first day on leave from the marine corp and I don’t expect them to know but at least give respect to their customers. My friends and I ordered 4 ciders for happy hour and maybe after 5 minutes the waitress comes over and give us our check. Very unwelcoming and I will never be attending this establishment again. I wish I could give this place negative 5 stars. Food was great but the hospitality was horrific.
Surprisingly pretty good. Pretzel bites were hot and tasty. Fish and chips was not bad- well battered and fried just right but had a little too much black pepper. House cut fries were good and service was attentive. And the Godiva chocolate cheesecake was delicious- tasted fresh and not thawed.
Fun Pub vibe. Food was great and reasonably priced. Especially like the all day happy hour on Sundays. Great for some day drinking lol.
Hadnt realized this place was there until I was stuck behind a slow truck the other day! Came back on a snowy Saturday afternoon. I ordered the portabello on brioche and truffle fries and hubby had the chicken cheese steak with plain fries. He had two bud lights and I had a CT specialty beer which was nice. Food was good, nice size portion and tasty. Only issue I had was the couple of teenagers making a racket in the area with the pool tables which was supposed to be a 21+ area. $54 pre tip. We will defo come back as a few other items on the menu looked good.
Had a subpar sandwich. Bar manager, Mark, and chef, Chris, were very responsive. Chris remade the sandwich. Perfect! Because of those two, we will be back.
Great place food okay service is lacking. Waitress very in attentive and note to patrons. Ordered beers and she said they were busy but she went to terminal to enter order. Would not be recommended this place if you want service as it sucks. Better places in Unionville than here.
Came in by myself to sit at the bar and was told that there was no available seating despite the several obvious empty chairs at the bar. Front desk guy then sat me at a 6 person table by myself. Depressing!
This place is great. I have a had time trying to find something negative about this place. Its consistently awesome. I enjoy it. Vodka Pasta, Burgers, Pizza are great too. I come back because the drinks are cheap too. Great hangout spot
Food was very slow in arriving and quality was extremely poor. Frozen pizza I typically buy was better than the pizza they served. Several tables were served ahead of us and when they finally came to our table they provided no plates or flatware. Is my wife decided on a Caesar salad salad which included all of 21 by 1 leaves of lettuce of lettuce in a literal soup of dressing. My cheesecake sandwich was extremely dry with very little chicken and and the chicken quality was similar to Stop & Shop cast offs. The beer selection outside of I PAs is minimal. This was my familys 2nd time there, the 1st time being OK this last visit was awful. My suggestion avoid unless youre interested in an IPA in front of a TV at the bar.
Had a pizza. For those of you (and myselfwho have always used Little City as a benchmark, look out. They are no longer the apex pizza place. The pie here had super fresh toppings, outstanding crust, A FULL BAR, and very friendly service. As they say, "out with the old, in with the new"Bon appetite.
Great food. All meals ordered were well presented and delicious. Staff super friendly. Clean dining area. Rueban was on point. Irish Nachos were great. Theyre take on poutine is as accurate as can be with a twist. French fries are good as well. Would have been a 5 star, but had to ding the bathroom.
Good drinks, average food. Made reservations twice and showed up but they never even had my reservation in the book. Service is below average. Good place to get a beer and play pool though.
This place combined with Peoples Choice Pizza a couple years ago and I must say thats been a positive development. Their food has retained a mix of quality + fast (so you can be in and out in under an hour, which is great when you have young kids to constantly entertain). Theyve also expanded the beer list to add local craft brews, which is a nice upgrade from the usual Bud and Corona. Live music on weekends and Karaoke on every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month!
Stopped in after the dog park and a huge bonus they allow dogs on the patio. The steak sandwich was perfect and the BBQ pizza was awesome. The service was very friendly. They even brought out water for my shepherd. A+ service... Highly recommended. Will definitely be back!
It’s to bad it’s only one star! really poor service and good food. If the bar keep could only focus on more than friends it would have been ok.
Worst experience our family has ever had in any restaurant. After over 2 hours of waiting for our food our family got up and left. What was most upsetting however, was the response from a waitress when we asked her where our food was after 1/1/2 hours. She was unbelievably snotty and rude. We later discovered this same waitress had brought most of our order to another table. Dont waste your time at this place. Service is awful (as noted by other reviewsand the food is mediocre.
Food is good, if unimaginative. Cocktail menu is broad, but not to my particular tastes. Selection of stand alone liquor seems pretty shallow (to be fair, I base this off of the scotch selection). Beer selection adequate. Overall service was great, friendly, attentive. For some this may be five stars.
Awful customer service, my husband and I called to make an order for pick up and the young lady who took our call was absolutely rude. We placed our order and she didn’t even know if what we ordered was on the menu. Which I was looking on their online menu to order. She then asks the manager if he knew what it was. She came back and said, yeah you can get that it’s good. She then says, “what’s else you want” .... a mean really that’s how you speak to a paying customer. We ended the call and then my husband called back and ask for a manager to make the order and then we told him about our experience with the previous person, he said “ok” what can I get for you. No remorse of any kind. He was then taking the order and the sounded so annoyed with us. Long story short we ended the call and would never even think as much as calling this restaurant again.
Went searching around Hartford Gun Club for a pub to hit up after spending a couple hours at the range. Glad I spotted IHP. Great atmosphere. Good food. Great staff. Will be back again for sure!
Iron Horse Pub in Simsbury is a must for lunch or dinner if you are ever near town. My choice for a lunch stop while riding in the bike path, this place is hands down, one of the best local pizza places! The weather was nice and I chose to sit outside near the garden. The nearby plants provided a sense of comfort and nature while I poured over their menu. The beer list was extensive and creative, allowing for someone to imbibe upon something new. There were standbys and seasonal selections; all in all, a superb selection. The staff was attentive, friendly, and prompt despite it being pretty busy with indoor, outdoor, and pick up diners all looking to dine. Price point was quite reasonable and the pizza was truly superb. Fresh ingredients, and strong punches of flavor. Outstanding experiences await! Support this local diamond!
Rico, nice service , you just have to wait to be sit , you either can sit inside or outside, you wear your mask until you already order ,then you can take it off.Pretty nice place !.
Made reservations last night with my husband. Arrived on time to a staff that looked distracted and seated us at the nearest empty table hastily. Really my negative review stems from sitting quietly at my table for over 25 minutes while waitresses walked by, socializing extensively with friends, and never even bringing us water. After waiting nearly a half hour to be addressed we got up and left. I told the man at the front desk we were leaving and he casually said, “ you sure?” with no apology. The place seems to be getting sloppy with a college crowd overrunning the patio, and a young staff wishing they were partying instead of working. It’s a shame because before COVID, we were regular customers.
Outside dining when the restaurant reopened. Good selection on the menu and drinks.
First time here, had the western burger and it was exactly what I needed. Delicious. Combination of flavors. Curly fries were great. Price was good. People were nice. However.... And this is important. They forgot my side of extra bbq sauce. 😮 Its all good though Id recommend for sure!
Will is the best bartender ever. Maryanne is a really great server. And Frank is a treasure. And I love Paris in the spring time! Also frank always picks up up my coat when it falls which is so nice
Great taps, and decent food from Peoples Choice kitchen. Great happy hour spot. Fun evening events. Competitive prices vs. other pubs in the area.
Every time I visit the staff is most welcoming and friendly. The wings are amazing good. I like the fact that this venue has events and they advertise some of them onFacebook. Ive attended their monks beer event, watched a couple of liverpool games with a meetup group, caught an NFL playoff game. Good drink prices too.
We were seated by the hostess on the patio and told that the server would be right out... 15 minutes later, we went inside to find the only server was just hanging out at the cash register with the hostess. We ended up placing a carry out order which was met with angry stares.
Lovely smaller bar with a larger dining section attached. Awsome atmosphere and good food for the price. They do live music on fridays and trivia on Wednesday. I dont know how long ago they remodeled, but its a totally different restaurant from what it was
Hit or miss spot. Happy hour prices werent honored by different waitress tonight which is wild. Long wait times. Great spot with the right wait staff on the right nights, but very off with inattentive staff. Wont roll the dice again
I like to claim to be a professional bar reviewer. As such here is my review. I walked into this bar with low expectations, boy was I wrong. I was greated by a warm and friendly staff who were know knowledge about their craft. On tap were 12 brews from ipa to dark stout that many bars tend to ignore. The atmosphere of this bar is pure small town Americana. The layout is supurb with different sections based on privacy. You have the standard bar seating and then there is a quiet closed off area if you are with a party of friends. The food is phenomenal and the gastropub feel is real. You have classic wings which are top notch, to a vast verity of pizza from classic pepperoni to extravant combination made by the brillbril minds in the kitchen. I highly recommend this bar if you are in the area and even if you are a ways out it very well may be worth the trip. ~Malc Z
Staff is very friendly. The pub is in its infancy, so it has some "growing" to do. Prices are decent for the area. Food isnt that great. The pizza had way to much sauce on it (IMO). Fried pickles were poorly breaded, and over fried. The dipping sauce for the pickles is great. They have an above average selection of beer, with some delicious local brews on tap. Overall the place is O.K. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat there. Im sure they will get better with time. I will definitely return in the future and try their other fare, as some of my friends have spoken highly of it.
