International Gardens Festival Of Chaumont-sur-Loire in Bourges

Loved the visit of the castle. The information package given was very complete and let us visit at our pace while finding landmarks and curiosities on our own.The garden is also huge so I would say take a full day if you really want to have time for visiting every bit of the Domaine, you wont be disappointed 😉

We have visited the garden festival the times over the past 15 years of so and always found it a good day out. Some of the 30 or so gardens dont be to your taste, some will make you laugh, and others will give you inspiration. We were late in the season this year and some of the gardens were starting to look a bit tired but I think that is unavoidable.

This is a stunning garden. There were dozens of garden artists from all corners of the earth that created some of the areas in this garden. You can enter by a combination ticket that is also valid or the chateau Chaumont which is also very remarkable. Barrier free access is guaranteed. Foods and drinks available. Parking is free.

This has been our favorite chateau of the Loire Valley so far-a mix of history, modern art, and beautiful gardens! The festival gardens are different every year, so we’ve already gone back twice!

The gardens were designed by all facets of the of garden community. Thats why its concerned international renowned. If you ask me, Ive seen better garden designs throughout the world. How about Butchard Gardens? This one is hard to beat. Well, so be it! The Chateau was worth our time. Its so beautiful!

Unbelievably gorgeous gardens plus contemporary art exhibitions all over the grounds and chateau. An A+.

Delightful visit exploring the gardens and the chateau. We were probably a little early in the garden season to see the full impact of some of the planting, but a wonderful experience nonetheless.

This place is underrated. If you like a beautiful landscape, garden and art this place is for you.

If you like modern paired with an old Castle, then 19€ might be worth it. For me honestly it was rather disappinting. Some of the parcs were nice, other were not my cup of tea.A lot of other castles are definitely nicer and worth their entry fee, this one, in my opinion was not.

It was a nice exhibit, but you really have to be into contemporary art to appreciate it. If you just like traditional gardens, go somewhere else.

Thematic gardens with well thought of architectural sculptures. Vast domain. Need a full day to visit all the gardens. Lovely during Autumn as there are lots of colours from the trees.

Beautiful Gardens, a good mix of art and nature, well worth the visit. I saw that a lot of people are complaining about the price, to me it makes sense that you have to pay that amount as I cant even start to imagine how much work is needed to keep the place running and as gorgeous as it is!

Beautiful but try to go during the festival season. Should be impressive. There is also a castle

We went last week spent 5hrs in the gardens and grounds alone. Even with the one way system it felt informal.... loved the gardens even in the heat they still showed different approaches we couldnt go in the Chateau as we had a large dog with us but still worth the price of the ticket.

Surprising, big botanical exhibition with a theme. Environmentally friendly, original and aesthetically pleasing. Many great and practical gardening ideas, for small and bigger gardens.

New gardens in competition and discover the new installation pieces and rediscover the existing ones.This is the most spectacular art and garden show I have ever seen! A wonderful way to spend a day. Very reasonable rates, passes, restaurants, kind staff and the venue is amazing

Beyond amazing, half a day of surprise, astonishment, wonders of peace and beauty. Its bigger than you think it is.I recommend, definitely.The castle 🏰 is around the corner but dont be too ambitious.

Not yet clear to me if the Castle belongs to the Domaine or vice versa... Splendid environment (including the Festival Gardens). Beautiful scenery of the Loire from the castle and the gardens. Recommended!

Such a beautiful place, however it really does need two days to explore properly. The gardens festival, themed Paradise, was excellent with many beautiful and thought provoking interpretations. There are two larger areas with permanent works of art and themed gardens as well as many temporary exhibits. We didnt even get as far as visiting tbe chateau, though from the exterior it was one of the most fairy tale castles Ive seen. Good value for money though expensive, lots of walking, not too commercialised

Affordable entrance fee for family and great medieval castle...you can also enjoy beautiful garden which multinational artists set up.

After hearing friends describe this festival as like the Chelsea Flower Show on steroids, we were looking forward to it so much. We came away looking for a strong dose of anti - depressants. We have a better display in our garden at home and its all weeds. Seriously, this was so disappointing and not worth one cent of the entry fee. I lie, one cent and one star go to the Misty Valley, a superb exhibit, which probably wasnt part of the festival anyway.

Fantastic garden, sorbet~

The castle is nice from the outside and has a nice and large lar and gardens. Unfortunately it is full of horible modern "art", I can only think of a reason as not having too much to display since the castle was a residence since the 1940s and that they had to fill it with something. However strange to see the chappel full of a fantasy of forrest elements, like if a Disney fairy tale scenario has covered a manmade place as it happened in Cernobyl.

Lucky you🏆, this beautiful place has both😍 Put this place in your bucket!! new exposition every year, I will definitely try to come next year.You will need about 3-4 hours to explore all exhibition.Look for a small cafe 👀 in a basement in about 200 meters from the entrance to Gardens Festival, come and try out their artesanal 🍦 ! I took matcha and mango&ginger, it was 🤤😋

Definitely the most interesting of all the 4 castles we have visited. There is currently a big art exhibition, part in the park, part in the inside that makes this place very special.This the castle that looked to me the less "amusement park for noisy children" and more like an adult, culturally relevant visit.

This was one of the reasons we chose to visit Loire valley, I had heard about the garden festival and wanted to take family pictures in its amazing gardens. The gardens did NOT disappoint, they were huge and very interesting displays of art throughout. We unfortunately were not able to see all of the amazing sculptures in the gardens, because of time but what we did get to see we truly enjoyed! So I suggest getting there early as there is so much to see and admire.

The garden festival was fun and nicely laid out. I would have to say that the designs were somewhat simple and I have seen most of it in America.However, the chateau Chamont and the main gardens for this chateau were absolutely gorgeous. The garden festival is located on the chateaus property.As well, there was always restrooms, gift shops and food whenever you needed it. Also, the tour through The chateau was very nice. Large collection of tapestries, furniture, paintings. Very nice.The whole place was very enjoyable and I definitely would go back and recommend it to everyone.

€18 ???? Have you been to Kings Park and botanical garden at Perth or Sydney royal botanical garden? It’s free and immense, more natural.

The gardens were not so nice as we expected. Moreover, the entry fee was the highest that we paid on our trip on Loire Valley. It does not compare with Villandry, were we saw the most beautiful gardens so far.
