I have hired Hillary for two separate private tours now because of how wonderful the experience was. The first was a corporate event in the loop and, most recently, a bachelorette party in River North. She tailored the tour to our literature and foodie loving bride and let us all nerd out over fun Chicago history and architecture. Wonderful tour!! We went on this walking tour the day after taking an architecture boat tour, and they complimented each other beautifully. Our tour guide Frankie was funny, knowledgeable, and did a great job shepherding us through the city. The interiors that she brought us to were stunning, and it was great to have someone to talk us through some of the history and points of interest. I definitely would not have known to pop inside those beautiful spaces without her!

We did the open your eyes tour with Hillary on her birthday. She is extremely knowledgeable about the city and its architecture. She pointed out gems of Chicago that we never would have discovered on our own. She is considerate of the group rather than working from a script and stayed behind after the tour to give advice on the best spots of the city. Great tour to learn about interesting sculptures, buildings, and mosaics that you may not notice on your own. Nice combo of inside and outside which makes it bearable even on a hot day. Frankie was an amazing guide and does a great job of giving you the skills to identify aspects of architecture when visiting any city in the future!

We had a great tour with Hillary and Frankie today. Their knowledge of the architecture was incredible. They both are self-admitted architecture nerds and we are so glad they are because they made to tour educational and fun. The 5 buildings they chose to enter were not ones you would have thought to gone in because the exteriors didn’t seem that great. But once you went inside, wow! There’s something really special about getting shown around an incredible city, by people who love it. Things that we would have never seen or known about otherwise. During the COVID-19 crisis, Inside Chicago is offering virtual tours on Zoom. I attended Hillarys "A Virtual Time-Travel Tour of Chicagos InterContinental Hotel" and "River Architecture: A Live, Improvised Virtual Tour of Chicago River Architecture PLUS Interiors." They were both excellent and are the best virtual activities Ive attended over these past couple months. Hillary is a wonderful tour guide who can bust out an impressive French accent. Immediately, I emailed a good friend who lives in Chicago and told her to attend Hillarys tours. Ive recently attended in-person walking tours in Washington, DC; Seattle; and San Francisco; and Hillarys tours (though virtual for the momentrank alongside the very best. Her tours are a great combination of storyteller and subject matter. Its easy to see why she is a top-reviewed tour guide on TripAdvisor, etc. I sincerely hope to attend more of her virtual tours and to attend in-person one day if Im in Chicago. Im really glad I found Inside Chicago on Eventbrite. If you have interest in history, culture, and/or architecture, dont miss out on Inside Chicago!!

We had a lovely tour with Frankie. The weather was not cooperating at all and Frankie pivoted and adjusted to make sure we still had an amazing, informative, interactive tour. I lived in Chicago for 5 years and still felt like I learned so much! Frankie made sure she was available for any questions and you could tell she really loves this city. Highly recommend!

Kylie gave an exceptional tour of many of Chicago’s landmark buildings providing excellent architectural and historical analysis in an interesting and easy to understand fashion. She shared interesting information about Chicago’s origins and redevelopment after the Chicago Fire. Throughout the tour she gave us moments to observe, appreciate, and take photos of the various styles of architecture.

Being from the Chicagoland area and having taken many tours, this really was one of the most exceptional tours! Hillary, our guide, took us into buildings we had always just walked by. She told us about the buildings past and explained to us what we were seeing, both inside and out. There was so much history and beauty we have always missed until now. We will now see Chicago in a new and different light. We cannot wait to try another Inside Chicago Walking Tour, since they have multiple tours to choose from.

My best friend and I went on the Interiors tour with Adam, and it was so great! The flow made a ton of sense, and Adam was incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. He made the tour very fun and didnt miss a beat when a horn honked very loudly in the middle of his talking. It was so great to speak with someone else who is so passionate about Chicago, and I definitely want to go on more tours with Inside Chicago in the future!

I must admit I went into this virtual walking tour only knowing of Frank Lloyd Wright as an influential architect from Chicago. What a delight! Hillary is an ebullient fountain of information, her enthusiasm matched only by her seemingly limitless breadth of knowledge. I was fortunate to find out about the Virtual Chicago Walking Tour that Hillary gave through the Blue Island Public Library. She has so much information about the building architecture and history that it made the time fly by. She also had a great way of finding landmarks by using the rivers configuration. I took a virtual tour with Hillary through an on-line offering by the Blue Island Public Library and it was amazing! She has so much knowledge of the history of the buildings and architecture of the city. I miss visiting Chicago since my daughter moved away, but treasured the ten years she was there when we could explore. I’m feeling a reunion visit once all this Covid stuff clears up and will definitely check out Inside Chicago Walking Tours!

Chicago is my favorite city so I was excited to see a virtual tour put on by Inside Chicago Walking Tours, presented by the owner Hillary. I have been going to Chicago my whole life, my mother being from there, and over the years have taken many tours, not to mention being shown around by my mother and grandmother and wondering on my own. This was the most interesting tour i have been on.I was very glad that Hillary focused on a relatively small number of building, discussing and showing not only the outsides of the building but also the interiors.Based on my experience as a long time visitor to and lover of Chicago, as someone who studied tourism in college and as someone who spent his whole life in the travel and tourism industry, I can heartily recommend taking a tour with Inside Chicago Walking Tours and its owner Hillary!

I joined Inside Chicago Walking Tours for one of their virtual tours and it was a joy. It was easy to link up with info the company sent and once we were together and acquainted ourselves, we were off on our journey.It felt good to get "out" and see some beauty and to learn about our beloved Chicago. The tour company offer different experiences but I did the Hotel Intercontinental Tour as it is one of my favorite buildings. Lets just say I was blown away by Hillarys presentation, her knowledge, and the amazing photos she shared! Hillary is an incredible tour guide in every way! Shes incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about architecture and knows how to lead a very well organized tour. I took Hillarys tour in person during the Spring of 2019 and tuned into her online tour during quarantine. I admire Hillarys creativity, optimism, and passion to share the beautiful buildings of Chicago even when we are all stuck inside. Looking forward to visiting Chicago again when travel is allowed :)

We took the The World Within: Dazzling Interiors of the Loop tour. Hillary was amazing. Her experience, education, and passion really show through during this tour. The tour was a highlight of our trip. We plan to return with our children and do it again! I dont want to spoil any of the surprises, but rest assured that Hillary has an unique inroad to places you would not be able to access in any other way. She has done a good job of highlighting some treasures of Chicago often overlooked or unknown to anyone but locals. Hillarys care for Chicago, architecture, and history are evident throughout the tour. Her number one rating on TripAdvisor for cost tours is accurate and well deserved. If you can only do one thing in Chicago, do this tour. You wont regret it!
