Cultural center with 10 airy pavilions uniting Asian and modern art with architecture & landscape.
Good small area to relax a bit, not so easy to understand access and infrastructure
A wonderful experience. The park is very well designed and as you wander around you come across pavilions with art. Worth going back in May when the rododendrons are flowering
Great museum. Every view line is spectacular. The simple and basic food, water, thee and coffee in the cafetaria is free.A really nice park. A perfect walk with beautiful views.
Not all buildings are open, may 2022, but amazing flowers!
Beautiful island! Feels like youre in a fairy tail or phantasy movie!! 100% recommend! I wouldnt just go there for the art since they do have some art, however just very few pieces. The architecture and nature is stunning though!!!
Beautiful walking route through nature. Unfortunately on my last visit most of the buildings were not accessible. So there was very little art to see. Nevertheless, well worth a visit!
Simply put this is a disgrace. Basically a decaying park situation, with dilapidated buildings with art most of which are closed or empty. There would appear to be some kind of restauration going on but this could take years to complete. Any art work or heritage objects which are displayed are devoid of any information as to provenance. And they are still charging the full €10 entrance fee. To be avoided, a waste of time, take a [free] walk in a public park.
Top place, a most for architectural work and sculpture. Brilliant museum in nature
Top. One of my favorites museums
Amasing place, should visit
I would say that this place is the German "Inhotim". A massive place dedicated to art.
Very modest collection, poorly curated. I was disappointed.
Nice museum and walk
Beautiful place
Exhibition was closed due to Covid19 regulations, but the landscape was so beautiful and it was peaceful and refreshing to walk around
Nice to visit, unfortunately a little expensive
Definitely worth to visit this place!
Nature is here to be exposed with art. The café is one of a kind. Really nice. Thanks for the effort. The museum visit is free with the museum card.
Great landscape,. Interesting art. Do take your time the more you look, the more you discover.
This place combines art and a relaxing stroll in nature. Very alternative buffet and the entrance fee is not inexpensive, but its worth it.
Perfect place to spend a weekend. Branch is included!
Nice
Really interesting place!!!!
Nice.
Very unique outdoor museum spread across a nice natural landscape. Interesting mix of Asian and contemporary art, including some big names like Yves Klein and Giacometti.Admission is a bit steep (15/20€but includes a simple but tasty free lunch.
Great place with a lots of nature sightigs.
Not accessible for all. A lovely hiking area for able bodied people.
Excellent place for a visit - especially when the weather is fine (just as last weekend). You walk in a nice natural environment, inbetween art exhibits and (smallexposition buildings. Entrance fee is (to date20 EUR but also includes a drink and small bite in the cafeteria. WARNING: the biggest exposition building (with the nicest exhibitsis currently closed for overhaul. That was a real pity (the "lost" star in the rating)...
I dont know how it is in summer, but dont go there in winter. Several installations outside were covered with ugly tarps, the insides had no light so with this classic cloudy winter weather for the region rooms were pretty dark, giving a rather gloomy mood to the ensemble. And the outside looks unattended and grim (and thats really too bad because I felt it has potential to be really nice during the sunny season), giving the place an overall sensation of being abandoned. As for the art exhibits themselves, there is absolutely no explanation, you dont know why some modern abstract stuff are mixed with Aztec or Khmer pieces, or on the modern pieces you have no idea what was the artist intent, which some experimented amateurs might like as its just "you and the raw emotion of art" (as I heard in a podcast), but for me it was just uninteresting shapes.Adding to that a whooping 20€ entrance fee, this left me pretty angry at the end, feeling I have been scammed somehow, only eased up by the free -small- buffet at the end. I think thats why Im not giving only 1 star haha, but maybe also because the park is probably quite nice in summer.
Quite probably one of the most wonderful places on earth.
Very nice park and museum
Overpriced small park with random art pieces, where at the end you get to eat a free potato with sourcream and bread. All this for €20 per person.
peaceful setting for art & natur lovers
Art and nature, ... great!
One of the best Museums I’ve ever been! It is a big park with a Lot of small Buildings, where the visitors can see drawings and paintings from a very interessant selection of artists (including Klimt, Arp, Rembrandt, Yves Klein and Matisse). The contrast between arquitechture and natur is great! Tickets cost 15€ and 7,5€ for students, sundays and holidays 20€ and 10€ respectivly.
Absolutely fantastic museum. This museum is all about form and color, whether it is the garden, the art pieces or the buildings. Fabulous. Best time is May.
The best place to spend the whole day in the nature, with a bit of culture and lovely snacks 😉
Unique museum of art. Amazing experience in the woods.
Relaxed open air museum worth visiting.
This is a modern art museum spread across a large open parkland and contained within modern buildings. I didnt think much of the art works, or the buildings but the walk around was very good and being caught in a Thunderstorm added some great drama. The restaurant was fantastic, with plain fayre but you help yourself and you make a donation; excellent idea.Go here on a fine day and enjoy the fresh air and the wild plantings then if you like the art that will be a bonus to you.
This place is huge, with experimental architectures and exhibitions in the middle of nowhere. The whole area is worth to visit, and walk around.
Great experiences, nice for kids, great for everyone.
Nature wonderful, but in the pavillions theres no explanation for any peace of art (sometimes peace of "art"so a visitor doesnt have a clue whats in front of him, who is the author, whats the titel of the piece, year...nothing..very superficial I dare to say...
really cool
A unique and inspiring place to walk around. Great combination of nature, art and architecture!! Contemplative!
Architects must-see!
Amazing.
Beautiful!
Small pavilions set within a park are stunning.
Go here for the architecture, and youll be amazed. The museum is gorgeous outside and inside, and the grounds have fabulous architectural experiments scattered here and there. The exhibition we saw wasnt too impressive, but definitely made up for by the architecture. Recommended!
