Awesome find, glad I decided to swing by while staying at a hotel nearby for a work trip. Super chill environment, very friendly baristas. Oh, and the coffee is excellent too! Highly recommend the maple bourbon latte and pumpkin bread. Will definitely come back next time I’m in town!

Decent coffee but over $14 for two lattes

One of the best coffee shops in Birmingham. The vibes were perfect, I got a lot of writing done there. The owner is so friendly and you can tell he really cares about his customers and his work. Their alaga chocolate latte is probably the best latte Ive ever had. Stop by for a delightful experience, youll be itching to come back!

No one wants their coffee especially their iced drink in a styrofoam cup. Gross

By far the friendliest and most polite staff of any coffee establishment I have been in. They seem to love what they do and enjoying serving! The quality of the coffee is fantastic as well!

REALLY good coffee drinks!!! I always get the Rosemary Brown Sugar Latte. The Sausage biscuits are ridiculously delicious and the blueberry crumb cake is faaaantastic!!! The service is always spot on! No attitude and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Hands down, THE BEST local coffee shop in Birmingham.

Staff was great! I like my coffee black with the pour over method. Usually I get the more bold flavors but wanted to try something new. They let me have a sample of the more bold one just to make sure I didn’t want that. I decided on my first choice but the bold one was really good also, I just wanted to try something new. When my coffee came out I got a complimentary square of shortbread. This square was amazing! Also the syrup they brought out was warmed up. Talk about exceptional. Like I never expected to even get that little square or be able to taste test a flavor. The picture is what’s after but I really was enjoying it and didn’t think to stop and take a picture. Also the little paper cup was my taste test cup the little glass one was the syrup and the syrup soaked paper towel is what the shortbread came on. For sure worth a visit!

I didn’t expect this cafe or most cafes in Birmingham cause I haven’t discovered a good latte. I really liked their latte and the staff was really nice and friendly!

Disclaimer: when you pull up, you think you’ll be going into an apartment leasing office BUT as soon as you walk in, it’s a beautiful coffee shop! The staff was super friendly when I walked in. The dirty chai latte was great. And the oatmeal I got was awesome.Must stop by!!

Maple bourbon latte was something special. Once you acclimate to and come to terms with the fact that this coffee shop is in an apartment complex clubhouse (you’ll be greeted by a leasing agent at a desk), you’ll find yourself in a comfy spot with great service and games on the lower level (shuffleboard, pool, and ping pong). Weird at first, but turned out to be a marvelous date spot.

My wife and I visited looking for some afternoon caffeination expecting good things considering the positive reviews. We were disappointed by both our drinks, especially considering the premium on their prices.My wife had a cortado with was so sour and under-extracted that it was clear no one had dialed in their machines in a while. My pour over had the opposite problem; extremely bitter and over-extracted. I couldnt even finish my cup.The staff was nice and the space was clean (this would have been a 5 star experience if they had better quality control), but I expect more if youre going to charge craft coffee prices like that. My advice, train your staff on how to dial in a grinder and dont use the same grinder for both espresso and pour-over. Dial it in at LEAST once a day, and instead of including the excess pour-over in a shot glass use that to teste test the brew before serving it to someone.If you want good coffee look elsewhere. Youll get better coffee (at least youll know what expectat Starbucks.

The pumpkin spice latte was insane, only lightly sweet and packed with fall spice and tasted like real pumpkin. The cheddar biscuit was delicious. Barista was very friendly and sweet to my kids. The atmosphere was very cozy and felt like a good place to sit and get some work done. Very weird that its in an apartment complex, but it was fine. Id highly recommend checking this place out!

We were staying in a hotel near this coffee shop and decided to give it a try. Excellent French press and hot chocolate. The shortbread was incredible. Great atmosphere to work or meet clients.

Yes, it’s goodIt’s in an apartment complex and open to the public, so be aware of that detail before arriving. :)We throughly enjoyed our drink, the space, and the service. Calm atmosphere, knowledgeable and friendly barista, and coffee that you will be scarce to find elsewhere. Even their pastries are top notch and pair wonderfully with their brews. Highly recommended.

Great place for breakfast. Coffee was good.. good was great. Ambiance is very unique because its not a typical coffee shop. Very friendly and prompt service.Masks are optional (May 2021).. so many customers and staff members are without them.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Innova several times and each time I’m greeted with friendly and knowledgeable people who have offered wonderful recommendations from their menu. Everything I have tried has been amazing. The quality of their product is impressive and the personal attention they put in every person and order they make is more impressive. I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could.

Wow! I went there with my girlfriend and we had a VIP experience from start to finish. Kendra was happy to serve us and she was amazing. She was smiley and joyful from beginning to end and was eager to help us get what we needed. The coffee was amazing too!!! (I had a Christmas mocha). The environment is very pleasant and homely as well.I cant wait to go back!

Exactly what you want to find in a coffee shop. Excellent sourced roasts, baristas that know what they are doing, and awesome pour overs! Every little detail is accounted for. Only enough located in a luxury apartments complex, but good for them, I wish the apartments I lived at had this. Well done all around!

When I arrived I ordered tea, the lady said I could be seated and said she would bring it to me. As I waited I noticed its a very nice clean upscale place. When the tea arrived it wasnt hot enough but it was delicious. There was a complementary little biscuit on the tray. Ill definitely be back. The place has a really nice friendly vibe.

Cute little atmosphere where I could easily sit and sip for hours! Stopped by on a whim for an afternoon latte with the hubs and so glad we did. I tried one of the signature lattes: maple bourbon—pretty yummy especially if you love the bourbon flavor. He got the vanilla bean latte and loved it! I felt like it was a little on the pricey side for the oz (almost $12 for two lattes), but I would stop by for an occasional treat.

Very cute, inviting and warm place. Lots of windows to let in the outside light. Coffee is very good - give the Maple Bourbon latte a try! The owner, Tyler, is often in and very friendly. The whole staff is nice.It is located inside the reception area of a large apartment complex. It doesnt feel like you are in an apartment community office so dont let that scare you off. However, know that there is no sign on the main door so just look for the main lobby of the complex and it is located inside.Give it a try, you will really like it.

Some of the best coffee in Birmingham! Calm, stay a while atmosphere and the staff are nice. They do not have sugar free coffee syrups, but they do have stevia. I always get a latte with stevia. Quality beans!

Wonderful pour-over coffee, excellent oatmeal and above all, friendly service! The staff is attentive and clearly cares about its products and making sure you get what you’d like. While it sounds strange to have it be in an apartment complex, is it that different than a Starbucks being in the bottom of an office building or hotel? Great space to work, read or just relax. Will be back whenever I’m in Birmingham.

We came as hotel refugees looking for something better than the urn at the hotel. Could a coffee shop in an apartment community center be a good idea? YES! Wonderful Burundian pour over. Great Latte! Kind and attentive service. WiFi and good power connections. And we loved that it wasn’t the SEATTLE clone with slightly charred beans passed off as crafted flavor. We are from out of town, but will be back!

The staff is friendly, coffee is impeccably done and they have many gluten-free options. The coffee shop is tiny but if you can also sit in other areas of the apartment complex. Wonderful coffee shop with small snacks and pastries and lots of coffee and tea options! High-quality ingredients - the pour-over coffee is literally ground right then and there, and the coffee was delivered THAT week! Incredibly fresh. The pastries are all fresh, and there are also granola and yogurt/fruit options if you’re searching for a healthier option. Milk alternatives available! The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful, and service was fast and efficient! One of my favorite spots. I’m so happy I stumbled upon Innova!

Walking in was a bit confusing because its part of an apartment complex BUT dont let it fool you. It soon feels like a nice local coffee shop. Enjoyed the Americano which was a very fair $3, seats were comfy, and they were so nice about us chatting until after close, offering to give us to-go cups so we could hang out (remember its part of the clubhouse so nothing to them!). The bar is adorably decorated too. Ill have to go back for treats because they smelled amazing.

Fantastic little coffee shop. If I hadnt read the other reviews, I wouldnt expect it to be inside the leasing office, but there is a sign outside by the road, so Id have found it eventually. The coffee was fantastic. I had a pour over Costa Rican origin roast. Id definitely go back for the coffee, but the staff are what really set this little gem apart from others - super friendly, and very genuine. I feel like you can tell from their operation that theyre really passionate about what they do and they value customer service; and that makes a huge difference.

Yesterday was my 1st time at Innova. The owner went out of his way to be kind, hospitable, and friendly. The pour over coffee was perfectly done by the barista. The physical space is modern and really neat. Highly recommend.

Awesome welcoming atmosphere, really good coffee, super-friendly staff (Sarah took care of our order and she did an awesome job)... A fresh change from the sticky tables and dirty hipster atmosphere that you find in every other "edgy" cool coffee shop in town. This is my new favorite coffee spot!

I was impressed with innava coffee… Their selection of blends and single origin coffee‘s are good but the environment is what set this place apart… Very high-end, very friendly, and very different then the majority of trendy coffee shops popping up. Thanks for looking different than the rest. Great seating, great fireplace, great staff.

Atmosphere is always awesome, location so central for meetings, but the best part is how much the staff obviously cares about providing an excellent customer experience.I got a black coffee from batch brew, and the owner ran out and said give me that back, I need to make you fresher coffee. I mean it was still better than fresh coffee I’d get from 90% of other coffee shops, but he brought me out a pour-over that knocked my socks off.6 stars.

One of the best muffins I’ve had in a while and the coffee was just perfect. The costumer service is great, nothing but smiles and profesionalism. Wish more coffe stores still sticked to the basics of quality products and impeccable costumer service like this one.

Delicious coffee! My husband had an espresso and they served a little water on the side. It was a nice. I had a cinnamon tea. It was full of flavor and the perfect temperature! You park at front lobby. The location is inside the building of a luxury apartment lobby and off to the right.

Innova Coffee is a special place! Incredible people, fantastic drinks and treats, and a warm inviting atmosphere! Owners Anna and Tyler are one of a kind. Highly recommend to come here daily or stop by if you’re in town.

I put Innova up there with Seeds as the two best coffee shops in the Birmingham area. Great coffee with multiple blends of pour-overs available. Tyler at Innova takes customer service to the next level and he and his team are just genuinely really nice people.

Good coffee in a relaxed environment. The staff were very friendly and I was easily able to find a place to sit and work on my computer. They have WiFi and nice background music. They arent a Starbucks, so dont expect a menu quite as expansive, and they close much earlier than Starbucks does. However, they are worth a visit if youre trying to kill time in the area and dont want to drive back to 280 for coffee.

Great coffee and good service, but there were yuppies everywhere. My guess is that this place caters to the residents in the high end apartments, but I prefer my coffee shops to have more socio-economic diversity, not the carbon copy clientele that I was witnessed on the day I visited. To be fair, Im not sure how they can fix this, but if youre looking for a good coffee shop experience and are not a young semi-urban professional, I recommend going somewhere else.

Wow! This is not your average coffee shop. In addition to serving great coffee, this group really creates a high touch environment. Im reminded oh the infamous Ritz Carlton and their high quality service. They remember your name and go the extra mile! My favorite is the Ethiopian - pour over.
