Indie - Indian restaurant in Tromso, Norway
The taste is incredible like from the Home.
Landed again at Indie Tromso and want to thank these guys including Claudia who made our visit memorableCan’t thank enough the owner of Indie & Co Tromso and Chef Rajendra for excellent food
Excellent food. Pleasantly surprised to eat authentic Indian food. Chef Rajendra was very nice, smiling and always ready to understand the expectationsNever expected to get missi roti and daal in Tromso Norway
Best restaurant with indian food
Behaviour of the lady staff was extremely rude. Dont know how to behave with guests. Food was also ok.
They had several different options, including vegetarian ones. However, the food was quite bland, and not at all what I expected. Got Butter chicken for my 12-year-old, assuming it would be creamy and easy to like, but it was kind of dry, and she barely ate any. The Palak paneer was also not the best, Ive actually had better in Alta. All in all quite disappointing.
Very good food & drinks! Amazing atmosphere with beautiful decorations and cozy Indian music. Food could be a bit warmer when served, but will definitely be paying this place a visit again 🌴🪘🎼
Nothing but amazing!! Staff were all friendly and overwhelming helpful. The vibe is truly comforting and in total spent 2 hours eating and chilling. Food was outstanding!
We were over 20 pax that had a good time here. The atomsphere is great and the menu has alot of variety. We ordered a big shapring-menu. The food here wasnt very spicy, a let-down for alot of us. I think they make it mild to fit most people, allthough we had some expectations that werent met.We had four tables and one of the tables seated more people than the others sp they had to share the same amount of food as the rest of us. We pointed this out to the waitress, they explained that they had put out food for all of us and divided it equally. But as they set up the tables to fit more, they should have divided it up better. The table got some extra food after 20 minutes. When levaing we waited 30 minutes between the first of us got to pay and the last. That was a let down. But all in all I would like to go back and try out more from their menue, emphazising they need to add some spice.
Recently we family of 3 (2 adults & 1childvisited this place, as we were staying in Scandic hotel opposite to this hotel. The place was quiet empty, the waitress came to us and we asked table for three. After sometime the waitress came back and said we have only table for 2 and not for three. As per their website there was no booking was offered. I was shocked to hear that and I felt this place doesn’t deserve even single star. We had to go to another Indian restaurant. Worst hospitality
Nice decor but thats about it. Very disappointed, not authentic Indian food at all. Extremely bland food with no taste at all and the naan-bread was very small and again tasted of nothing.
Amazing food, Even better service!!
I was passing by with my husband and we decided to try the food at Indie.Everything from the service, to the food was perfect! The Panir Masala that The waitress recommended was delicious as well as the seek kebab naan and taco vindaloo! The cocktail were perfect. The fact that the waitress made the drinks just for us, because they didn’t have it in the menu was fantastic! And the frozen glasses for the beer ahh just perfection!!I highly recommend Indie! If I visit Tromsø again I will definitely come back!
The staff was amazing our server was very hospital and witty and smart. The restaurant has beautiful decor and was designed immaculately. Now onto the food. It’s been two weeks since I’ve been here and I can still remember how I disliked it.The shrimp smelled and tasted off. The chicken lollipops were literally Asian/teriyaki chicken wings. Not actual chicken lollipops. The tadka Dhaal and pretty much most of the sabzi there was bitter. Like purposely bitter. It’s like they threw in bitter spices at the end and boy oh boy it was strong.I love my countries food and whenever I travel I make it a task to try that countries version of Indian food. Was this Indian food?Idk you decide. Try it out for yourselfI honestly don’t think so.
Nope, not satisfied. The food isnt comparable to traditional Indian restaurants. Though the staff is friendly, I found it overpriced. Will not come back here.
Friendly staff, Great food and lovely ambience !
The auro was very nice. Welcoming staff and amzing true indian decor. My only negative i feel was the autheticity of the food. Because as far as I could see all Norwegian employees were present no indians to be seen. The taste of everything was dialed down. Less spices and less dimention. The menu was also short. Some major indian dishes like the biryani was missing. Location is perfect. In the city centre and the cleanliness, quality, presentation was spot on 10 on 10.
Pathetic indian food. Highly disappointed. All the dishes that we ordered were watery. We had Palak Paneer, Paneer Masala, Daal Makhni and Garlic Naan. Naan was of a medium sized poori, and nothing great! Dont recommend it to anyone, especially those who are looking for real indian taste.Only good thing was the interiors of the hotel. But thats not why one goes to a restaurant.
I have never give 5 stars before. Me and my partner was both amazed and satisfied the whole experience was amazing, excellent friendly service, and the most amazing Indian food I have ever had. Thank you so much i cant wait to come back when I am in Tromsø next. 👍
Really good food. Was made it like it was ordered. Clean and nice environment.
Extremely bland. Butter chicken should be rich and delicious but this was not. Tandoori chicken street food was ok. Portions are very small.
We went there for lunch. Ambience of restaurant is nice but food is horrible. We have ordered Sticky Paneer tikka in starter, which was totally disappointing. It was very sweet n sore and not at all taste like paneer tikka. In main course we had Panner masala which came with soupy gravy and was tasteless.Peshawari Naan and Garlic naan was ok ok. But Missi roti was very hard and not at all eatable.
The food was good but the portions are way too little for their price, those indicated as "half portion" could easily be called 1/4. Okey service
The food only looked delicious. I give it a 3* because the waitress was very polite. The chef served stale dal. Other veggies were nothing more than just edible. VadaPao tasted the best.
Served stale food which was smelling like hell, must have been at least week old. I guess the chef has never actually tried Indian food. Hope someone teach how to cook Indian food.
Beat vindaloo I’ve have. Excellent indian cuisine. Food and service quite good.
The food was delicious, beautifully presented and staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the time spent at the restaurant and recommended that place. 5 stars. Thanks ❤️
I had a great experience. Very delicious food and almost perfect. The French lady working there is very nice and friendly. Big plus for that.
Not the actual indian food that you’d expect even the taste is a bit plain. However the service was good and thats why 3-stars for the place
They’ve best Indian food I’m Tromso. Few items like Antiques with modern Indian ambience.
Good Indian food, gies very easy on the spices
Good Indian food, amazing service and charming ambiance. Butter chicken was all right, but Ill order something spicier next time!
Indian restaurant in downtown with marginally authentic cuisine. Ambience is above average. Mango chicken is one of the popular menus top list. Service was great but a bit slow. Has range of spiceness scale which can be leveraged based on taste😉
Great service and food even though it was very busy because of the food festival. Well worth a visit!
Poor attempt on Indian food. Tasted like nothing. The sorry state of the nan, dry undercooked rice and some ridiculously bland korma dish.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Tromsø! Delicious every time, beautiful atmosphere, impeccable service. And gluten free naan!!!! Thank you Indie😋
Best India restaurant in Norway 👍Butter chicken is perfectly done 😺Super service best in Tromsø
Very good salmon, mediocre indian food. Had a rude waiter. Old chubby man, was mad about recieving too little tip. He also made jokes about the woman paying for the meal and not the man
Awesome place for Indian food.
The fish curry is seriously the best fish dish I have ever been served. Its totally amazing and highly recommended. I could also go as long as saying that its the best Indian dish Ive ever been served. Highly recommended!
Tasty rogan josh, nice atmosphere, decent prices and pleasant service. Cant go wrong!
Love design of the restauran:recommend this place for spicy food lovers:great stuff:))
A nice place to enjoy delicious Indian food. People are very friendly and the service was great when I was there. I went twice during my Tromso trip. The lady who served the food for us was a fantastic person 🙂
Good food, and you get a feel of india in there. They will even give you very spicy food if you ask for it.
Food was totally ok. It did not stack up to other curries I’ve had in Norway, though. The price was ridiculously inflated.
Wait staff nice and ambience good but way overpriced for quality of food. Had toasted pita bread that they claimed was naan and the quality of the curries was not great with a very uneven blend of spices. Feels like someone trying to make indian food from a cook book rather than truly authentic tasting dishes. If you are traveling through this beautiful area and missing Asian cuisine would recommmend you look elsewhere - not worth the expense.
Delicious food and has five vegan options! However, considering the ingredients, it seems overpriced. For example, the chickpea curry was 20 dollars when it was mostly chickpea, some spice, and some rice. However, they gave us extra rice when we asked to bring the leftovers home, so that was very nice!
A very odd interpretation of Indian cuisine. The menu was extremely limited with no starters offered apart from expensive poppadoms. Service was efficient, bordering on bizarre. Hard to justify the 1400 NOK bill unfortunately.
Hard to locate that place. Once you reach there, be prepared to wait long hours or turned back unless you have a reservation. We were turned back even though there were not many folks in there.Smelt good and spicy ..btw
Finally an indian restaurant in Tromsø, and its good too! Also supernice atmosphere and staff
