Long-standing, white-tablecloth restaurant for traditional Indian cuisine and tandoori specialities.
Wonderful experience super lovely staff the food was 10/10 it best my satisfactory the money was worth the amazing food I will make sure I come again
I was greeted by a young man with big dreams at the counter. Very helpful and suggested a few recommendations of what to try. The food was amazing. Would order again. π
Very nice people delicious food the staff was so nice and helpful we really had fun with them they gave us complementary food 10/10 recommend coming
Went for dinner last night. Ive been to many good Indian restaurants. The condiments and the papadam were good but the raw onions smelled like they were stored for a long time and changed colour too. The lamb briani was not a real briani. It was like a stired mix rice with spices. Spicy food doesnt mean to add so much green chillies in the food, its all about the spices and masala that you use. The dall and naan was fine. Its a good restaurant for those who never had indian food before but for someone like me who tried many indian food, this was not so good. If they want their customers to comeback again, they should work a bit more on their food, products and customer service.
Amazing food, one of the best Indian in East London.
The bad reviews make no sense whatsoever! I have been eating here for the past 8 year almost weekly and the food is soo mouthwatering tasty, decisively very affordable while the customer service is incredibly friendly and caring too! As long as it stays open I ll keep going back, highly recommended! Thank you guys πππ
I have been going here for 10 years and its alway been fine. This time ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb korma and lamb dansakβ¦β¦..and what I got was 3 different coloured soups, all tested the same, all just slop with a tiny bit of meat. Naan bread was nice tho.
Having tried a fair share of Indian restaurants, this is by far our go to every time for a takeaway. Excellent value, friendly personal service and as a vegetarian I really appreciate that each veggie side has its own unique, delicious flavour!
Literally the worst and most embarrassing experience Ive ever had. Avoid at all costs! Booked a work team meal and they kept adding things to our order without asking us or telling us that theyll charge us for it. The bill ended up becoming a daylight robbery!
Best curry Ive had in years! Accommodated special.requests, portions are generous, wow the flavours are just brilliant. Its extremely reasonably.prived as well.
Terrible food well over priced only 4 small pieces of chicken in a masala the rest was just sauce wouldnt recommend this place to anyone
The Indiana is a fantastic restaurantwith the owner Alum always willing to give you the best experience he possibly can with fantastic food and a wonderful staff always willing to cater for all your needs!
Food was very nice i had full belly with the great portions as wellThe chicken tikka biryani was not your usual tikka biryani more like bbq so not so fond of it but some people might like it.They are doing 50% off collection only throughout the week so not just monday to Wednesday its all week up until end of sep20 as far as i am aware so give them a try
Best Indian food in east London by far! I always go for Palak chicken und usually pick up as we live close by. Always ready within 20 mins, super delicious and really good service. Can only recommend!
I have tried many Indian take-away over the past years, Indiana has never failed to deliver. The honest, genuine, tasty food is only matched by the excellent and helpful customer service. Thanks for the yummy experience, cant wait to order again!
Honestly dont know why this doesnt have higher reviews. We go to Indian restaurants a lot in London, and this is definitely one of the tastiest weve been to. Waiter was also friendly, and was generally a really nice experience. Definitely recommended.
Great tasting food, and great value for money. Very surprising dont be fooled by the area. Would recommend.
Ive been using his place for twenty odd years. It was run by good people then and is still run by good people now. I dont think Ive had a bad meal out of here in all of that time and would recommend it to anyone. Its not on my doorstep either.
We had a fantastic evening at Indiana which catered for 30-people on 19/05/19. The menu was absolutely fab, along with fabulous alcohol free mock-tails and the service was outstanding. This was an iftar gathering, very highly recommended.
Ordered via Deliveroo, menu is deeply misleading. One prawn for Β£7 when the picture shows 3 and when it says poppadoms (pluralthey mean poppadom (singularfood arrived cold when we are a 4 minute walk away according to Google.
Went back to Indiana for first time in ages. Excellent food and service. Great value too. Quiet atmosphere. BYOB.
Food was good. The service was excellent. Worth a visit especially at there prices and you can take your own wine.
Best Indian restaurant in east London, and Ive been to a few. Delicious food and good value for money.
Ordered Aloo chat, Veg Biryani, Pindi Chole. Completely uncooked food (we are not exaggerating). Huge chunks of potatoes and vegetables not cooked at all. Aloo chat had no chat in it , Veg Biryani had big chunks of uncooked vegetable, potatoes and carrots. Not sure what the biryani side was meant to be. Overall had a very bad dinner experience. Hoping we knew it would be this bad. We would not have wasted so much money.
Went to this place for our date night. Absolutely loved the food. Very delicious and will definitely recommend. To top it off we had 50% off our bill as they accept taste card π a very happy customer and will definitely go there again ππ»
Excellent local curry house in LImehouse. Good service, never too busy. The lamb chops are succulent and mildly spiced. The curries very good - my favourite is the chicken tikka patia. As other reveiwers have said, they dont now sell alcohol, but they are happy to provide Cobra glasses if you purchase over the road in the local shop.
If you are a fan of Indian food DO NOT order the "butter chicken" as for some reason thats the name theyve given for their korma. For anyone with knowledge of Punjabi cuisine it bears no resemblance to a genuine butter chicken. So annoyingly misleading Ive posted my first ever Google restaurant review. I would implore the restaurant to change the name. That aside, delicious biryani and some of the best saag Ive ever eaten.
The food in this place is most amazing! I have been eating here for about 8 years and each time I eat here I feel like a party in my mouth - the food is so delicious, Micheline stars quality! Must try! My favourite restaurant in London!!
Lovely restaurant. Staff are friendly. The food is reasonably priced and great flavours.
Ordered a take away from here tonight which came to 31 pound .food was nice ..but says on menu ..any order over 25 pound ..will receive a free beer or bottle of wine ..which we didnt get ..
One of my favourite Indian restaurants in London, foodwise. Its rarely busy, and the atmosphere not special (although its clean and elegant), but the quality of the food is outstanding. The signature dishes, the biryanis and the Currys, and also the naans and chapati bread, have always been top quality (Ive been 4 or 5 times). Great value for money, and presentation of the dishes is also great. If it was in a different Street it would be a famous restaurant.
Ordered plain rice (x2), king prawn curry, king prawn bhuna, naan bread (x2& a coke. Its not clear enough in the photos but my king prawn curry was watery and in both curries the prawns were so overcooked they were mushy so we threw them away. Naan was also burnt. Best thing was the coke.
Just ordered some food it came on time but not impressed with the quality.Chicken was over cooked there for it was dry and tough.Sauce watery full of oil.Stingy portions and a massive lumps of garlic in king prawn madras.Definetly not worth the price .Meat samosas tiny. Will not b ordering from Indiana again .
We ordered takeaway and payed through the restaurant website using PayPal. They then called saying the payment hadnt gone through 15mins later, and when I confirmed my PayPal showed the payment receipt they said they would check and call me back. An hour and half later they still hadnt called. When we called them they passed us around between employees until the manager confirmed the payment had actually gone through and suddenly our food was on the way. It turned up cold 5 minutes later. Poor service and terrible attitude. Avoid.
Had food poisoning with their mushroom curry. And way to much oil in their tasteless dishes. Didnt like it unfortunately. Ill never order from them again.
Great little hidden gem. The food is really good! The currys are great, my fave is the South Indian spicy garlic chicken curry. the staff are lovely and treat every customer with care and attention. Def recommend this place.
First time there, ambience better than I had expected. Food was good, though portions were small on the starters (not sure if that was because I had the Gourmet Society card for the 50% off?). I would definitely go again and or bring visitors to when they are in Limehouse as theres not many restaurants around for choice...
Had ordered food twice now and it was delicious. The food was perfectly spiced- not too hot. It was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended
The best restaurant in the area, no contest. But then again, not a great area... I did like it here though, for a bit I felt like I was in a much nicer part of town than I really was. Good food, good service. No complaints.
Disgusting takeaway food. Bombay potatoes that tasked of cheap supermarket crisps. I make and try Bombay potatoes all of the time. It has a root taste from its flavours. This had none of them was processed and horaid. The thin half a poppadom I had was an insult I paid for and the vegetable dansak went in the bin.Through deliveroo and have expressed distaste with them . Avoid this place . Really
Awesome restaurant, great team members, incredible service and the owner himself what a humble person, down to earth, simply amazing, Food is just Wow, highly recommended.πͺπͺπͺπͺ
Really excellent curry, eat in or take away. Dhansak is best i have had in London and great value for money. Staff friendly and great value for money.
Quite simply agree in the excellent reviews given. I have rated on Trip Advisor. You will not be disappointed on food and service. Be back there soon.
Hands down the best curry in LondonMe and my partner have tried more Indian takeaways than I can count and we ordered from Indiana one night after a friend suggested it about 7months ago and weve never looked back! I get a chicken tikka masala and my partner gets a lamb vindaloo, very different but we both think it is made to an Amazing standard! We went to eat in once and we was not disappointed at all! The staff are so friendly.Would recommend to anyone who asks me and I have already got a few people hooked on it
Amazing sizzling paneer starter which came with salad. Nice ambience. Average chicken tikka masala and mushroom bhaji, both on the too much sweeter side than we would have liked. Tap water with ice had calcium deposits in bottom of glass. Waiters seemed defensive rather than taking on feedback. However as was only one of two families there, the service was quick. Min spend Β£12pp.
truly awful service. I was treated like I was their worst enemy not a valued customer. The manager was very abrupt and in certain cases just plain rude. The food was a little better than average but nothing to shout about. I would NEVER visit this restaurant again due to the extremely poor customer service. The experience left me upset and unable to enjoy my meal.
I have been going to the Indiana for quite a few years now, both dinning there and have their takeaways. I really recommend it.Alun and his team really look after you and will give good recommendations if you wish. The quality of the produce in the food is good and fresh and the menu is interesting and evolved.Go and try it for yourself, it is the best Indian in the area.
I went to Indiana twice while visiting London. Its the best Indian I think Ive ever had. Their service was really good as well, very nice people.
Best Indian restaurant I have ever been to in London. The food is of a very high standard with very good service. Portion sizes are sufficient but if you have a huge appetite, just order a bit more. My wife and I eat here all the time as we tried so many other Indians in the area and found this to be the best.
First time I had a takeway we felt one of the dishes was lacking. Thought I would give it another go and have been impressed with the dishes since.Tasty, good flavour and not oily.Favourites are Prawn Rogan and Chicken Tikka Massala
