Indian Kitchen - Indian restaurant in Medicine Hat, Canada
Might have been the best butter chicken Ive ever had! Clearly homemade and not from a can. Who wouldve thought I would find amazing Indian food in Medicine Hat?!
Food and service were great. I finish with the mixed grilled chef platter & masala tea. One of the best Indian cuisine Ive been experienced.
Bad customer service they try to send you away before you finish and the desert was bad. The curry sauce is decent but the meat inside is flavourless
Ordered the curry hot and it was very bland; not spicy in the slightest. This was a common issue everyone at our table experienced. Also ordered garlic naan, which they forgot about and instead gave me plain naan. It was alright, but dont have high expectations.
Very good food. Just a small feedback y’all should increase the quantity of curry. (Don’t mind even if you bump up the price a lil)
I really like the tea. It was fresh made and yummy. I have ordered samosa’s as well. Fresh samosa’s was very tasty but i found there was 2 samosa’s not fresh and off taste i would say sour .. other then that it was good
Good food and nice service.
Good food we tried it for couple of times..Punjabi and Veg pulav was good..
The food was absolutely amazing! I tried their kadhai paneer and it was absolutely amazing. The service was great, their naan and rotis were soft. Highly recommended!
They did catering for us for my sons birthday. Very good food and good service.
I always order food from here,my son loves their food, its always fresh and very reasonable, its a blessing to have such a nice indian restaurant in medicine hat.
We went there in the late evening and there were no customers. The girl who was handling customer service was not welcoming at all. No Smile, No Hi Nothing. Worst customer service I ever had. The food was not fresh. Maybe they were only focusing on online orders only. In the end the girl gave us a machine to pay but she didnt come to check that we paid the bill or we just left. 😅Any yeah no one was there to listen Thanks for your service.
Love East Indian food. Service was excellent. Well be back.
Perfectly spiced to our taste, our chicken Korma, coconut chicken, rice and naan was delicious!
Delicious food, good portions, clean restaurant sitting and surrounding areas.5/5 EXCELLENT.Thanks for yummy food.
Good Indian food. Tried their Biryani which i would recommend. The service was good.
Really disappointed. Ordered food through Skipthedishes. Food was totally garbage. Food temp was very low. Food was not cooked properly, only half cooked. I got stomach pain after that.
Check your order. The website may double it and you will not be reimbursed. Also the mixed pickles is not as advertised, minced mush as opposed to actual pickled vegetables.
Normally love the food, and service. Have ordered it many times. Today I get psychedelic orange (what is supposed to bePeshawar naan, a dessert naan, packaged in with my garlic naan. Melding the flavour of garlic on what is supposed to be my dessert naan. I like garlic, but no. When I call, Im told thats how it always comes, and next time ask for them to be packaged separate. Um, no, actually, it doesnt always come that way. Not when Ive ordered before, so why would I...or anyone else for that matter...think to request my garlic naan be separate from dessert? Nice customer service...not.
The food was amazingWe ordered full meal package in vegThe service was also good and a calm ambience
One of the best indian restaurant in medicine hat.the quality is also good.you will get nice biriyani of any kind.the pickle is also nice.spicy flavours are really yummy.I would recommend 😍👍
We have always been ordered from Indian Kitchen and never had any issues but last night we have ordered vegetarian food and got wrong order.. phoned back to tell that this is not I ordered. Indian kitchen staff refused to take any responsibility and told me it was my mistake I ordered this..vegetables pakoras were so dry and half cooked. Impossible to eat. So disappointed with customer representative and food quality. 😕
Very courteous staff who did not hesitate to take our (take-outorder although it was near closing time. The meal (Beef Biryaniwas very authentic, tasty, cooked to its full flavor and had an awesome aroma. The Beef was tender and contained all the flavor of the spices used to prepare the Biryani. Kudos to the Chef - fantastic job done. For me, Indian Kitchen is the only place in Medicine Hat for authentic good quality/tasty Indian food.
food is very good...but I had to wait 1hour 25 minutes for my 3 item order..even food delivery drivers had orders canceled..someone needs to take charge 🤔
We ordered take out and food tasted good but it came to $60 for basically a single serving size of 3 dishes, rice, and Naan. Over priced for what you get. Will not order from here again any time soon.
I am lactose intolerant so I’ve always been wary of Indian food because I thought they cooked just about everything with yoghurt. Well I finally tried their mixed vegetables with naan and it was delicious. Absolutely amazing. Their rice is also really good. I don’t know what they cook it with but I couldn’t believe I was stuffing myself with plain rice. Their naan is just soft and delicious. I hope to try more meals from this restaurant with no dairy in it.
Wow! This place has amazing biryani! The smell alone had our mouths watering. Spicy and full of tender pieces of chicken. We ordered take out and the portion was ample.
Excellent food!! Huge portions of Naan bread, great service. For three people we ordered 3 dishes (chicken, Dahl, paneer3 orders of Naan, 2 orders of rice. We were stuffed and took the rest to go. Bright, nicely decorated. Standard prices for Indian food. Would definitely recommend and would definitely eat here again!
Excellent restaurant and service. The food was simply amazing.I cannot understand why anyone would not like this food or give a meh review. These people know how to cook Indian food and it it out of this world delicious. Oh, and this is an unbiased review from someone who doesnt live anywhere near here.
I’ve lived in Toronto and Montréal and enjoyed some great Indian food over the years but this might be the best classic Indian I’ve ever had. Great presentation, generous portions and zesty, flavourful paneer and butter chicken. The pakora were simple the best ever and the mango lassi was excellent. I don’t post many reviews but I’d hate for anyone to overlook this gem just because it’s next to a liquor store and strip club.
We went there while driving.Things we liked:The food was good. We got the chicken curry and naan. The curry was well made and the meat was tender. The tea was also good. The Lassi was below average though.Things we did not like:The wait was long. We stood near the counter to get a table for 5 minutes. Then after we got the table, we waited for 10 minutes before someone asked us if we wanted water to drink or not. After eating another long wait for the cheque etc.
Very disappointed in the amount of servings you receive for the price. I also ordered Tandoori Chicken and seeing rice was an add on for extra money I figured it wouldnt come with rice; however received more rice than chicken and salad combined. the Tandoori chicken is very small drumsticks and half a thigh for the price of almost $15.00... will not order from them again.
Always manage to find a way to have a meal "when visiting in Medicine Hat " at this restaurant. Good selection of food accompanied by attentive service makes for a great meal experience.
Very horrible service provided by the waitress (name mentioned on the receipt was savita, but she mentioned her name as aman). She does not know how to use words & her only replies to any question are hmmm & ok. Quality of food was not great. Garlic-cilantro naan had 2 cups of oil on it & no garlic or cilantro.
Fantastic flavours. The Malai Kofta is the best Ive ever tasted. The garlic Naan is fantastic. My only constructive criticism is that a menu should have names intelligible to your audience. Three people in our group wanted butter chicken - not adventurous. But they couldnt find it on the menu without asking a server. I like the authenticity of using traditional dish names, but people tend to order what theyre familiar with.
One of the best Indian restaurants we have ever been too. It tasted so fresh and flavorful and we had the most lovely server. We will be back anytime we are in Medicine Hat!
Nice food compared to some other indian restaurants in town. They can increase the amount of food served if they want. The prize is pretty typical and not very pricey. These people were able to do a lots of adjustment when i ordered food for a charity and i really appreciate the owner and staffs for their big heart.
This place was cram packed with customers and the majority were east indian, which says a lot, in a good way.The inside door needed repaiir it kept locking on customers going and coming and slam shut upon each exit. The stairway out side was dangerously icy, I guess east Indians dont know how to chip ice or salt and take care of thier customers..Once agn the food was excellant with the waitress and or servors useless, unfriendly with no conversational skills. Both of our meals were reasonably priced and we will b going bak.
Service was terrible. Waited 20 minutes for waitress to ask for drinks. Understandable if place is busy, but when were the only table, could be a little more attentive
Since moving to Medicine Hat 3 years ago I have not found a restaurant worth giving repeat business, until eating here! If you enjoy Indian cuisine, this is the best place in The Hat for it!! There is a plethora of menu items ranging from mild to spicy, and most items are available prepared with the amount of spice you like!! I recommend the Butter Chicken, and the Samosas!! My wife also enjoyed her curry dish, but for the life of me, I cant remember what it was that she had.
Server was a bit cold/standoffish, bit the food was tasty. Entrees dont generally come with much for side dishes - be prepared to order extras if wanted. Somewhat pricey, but seems authentic.
I ordered Mango Tree through Skip the Dishes. According to the driver, Mango Tree orders go to Indian Kitchen when they’re closed. Okay, I hadn’t tried Indian Kitchen yet.I ordered two dishes. I immediately packed one into a glass container and put it in the fridge. The first meal I ate, butter chicken, was amazing. Perfect sauce to rice ratio, wonderfully spiced. All around good dish.I went to reheat the mango chicken dish last night. I poured it out of the container into my pan and started breaking up larger pieces. Came across a weirdly large blackened clove of garlic. Turned out that garlic also had legs and antennae. Biggest bug I’ve ever seen, if you’re an average person it was easily the size of the end section of your thumb.I rate 3 starts because of the butter chicken being so good, but I’ll never be eating at Indian Kitchen.
Good food, friendly staff. Food has flavor and heat is spiced to your preference. The portions are a bit small.
Taste was ok. No friendly greetings. Menu looks quite pricy compare to quantity and taste. Ordered pulav rice and Kadai Paneer, it was just garbage. Looks luke they don’t know what is pulav at all. I’m not going there anymore.
The food was delicious. Ordered coconut chicken basmati rice and naan bread. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Had a rehearsal dinner there. The food was ok. Not great. Im told if you buy individual portions its better. Cant really strongly recommend it. Also the food was late.
Yesterday i ordered food from there it was disgusting. When i told the manager about it he was asking for extra charge for substitution. The dumbest thing was that he asked me to prove that its not tasting. Would never going to suggest this place. From the scale of 0-5 i will rate the managers behaviour as 0.
Very clean, polite staff, and delicious food. There wasnt enough staff to deal with their high volume. We waited over an hour for our food and 20 minutes for our bill after asking 3 times. However, we received a discount because of the situation.
Been here twice so far , was really impressed with service, presentation etc. The management seemed to really care about what you thought and I really enjoyed it.The naan bread was incredible and everything tasted wonderful :)Unfortunately the second time round I ended up with really bad food poisoning ... still recovering ×_× Missed an important day at work yesterday and Im afraid I will no longer want this type of cuisine in the future, ever.I know they take great pride in their restaurant and really care about their customers, this was an unfortunate event.I am sad to say I will not be visiting anytime soon .
Absolutely disgusted. Had high hopes, having heard good things. Went in on Tuesday evening, and was shown to a table and given a menu. Then the young girl came back and asked if we would like water. We said we would like to order alcohol instead. She told us she was just a trainee, and could not do it, someone would be out shortly. And there we sat for 15 minutes, listening to a heated argument in the kitchen. And no service. The poor girl looked mortified! But enough was enough, and we got up and left. If arguing with your staff is more important than serving your guests......I will not be going back!
