India Town - Indian restaurant in Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico
India Town in Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl
Description
Privilege
Their thali is one of the best in North America! It tastes like a home cooked food form northern Indian state. Delicious and authentic Vegetarian thali. Try the large thali which come with lassi.
MoreNice Indian food in heartland of Mexico. Sahi Bhalla and Veg Biryani must try. The breads were not so hot but got hot breads when asked for it.
MoreI got sick from the food and it did not taste good
I went through several reviews of this place before heading there to have dinner. I took my chances and went there but the tasteless food sealed my faith and trust in the previous reviews. The only good part in the special thali was gulab jamun, rest of the items were literally too bland with some even looking stale. Paneer tikka and Veg Sheek kabab lacked proper chutneys and finish to them. Two stars only for the nice service and ambience. The place is big but I would say, people should go to Dawat Indian Cuisine if they really want to experience taste and flavors. We have been to Dawat twice already. May be India Town owner should dine in Dawat to learn few skills for their chef and how to put flavors in food. We paid 580 pesos and looked for taste but were disappointed at India Town.
MoreVery nice Indian veg restaurant right at the historic city center in Mexico City. The entrance is small and easy to miss. They sell Indian goods on 2 floors and the restaurant is on the 3rd. We ordered a thali and the food was really good.
MoreThe thali was horrible ..The Chole was not all the way cooked. The daal was not mashed properly. The pickle tasted weird.Overall I won’t recommend to anyone if you want decent Indian food
MoreLarge variety of Indian items and great vegetarian restaurant, I just wish they make it vegan friendly too.
MoreThis is Veg only Restaurant. Restaurant is located on 3rd Floor and 1st and 2nd Floor is all the Indian Stuff You can explore. we Order Thali Special and It was Very Good. it Comes with an Lassi and Naan. Food was tasty and food portion was good.
MoreAbsolutely awesome food!! We had the thali and each and every item was superb. My husband who is a bonafide meat person cleaned up his plate!!!
MoreThe saag paneer was runnier than most soups and the lentils had almost no lentils… absolutely horrible…
MoreI love this place, everytime I come I like it a little more, the food is great, the service is great as well the whole experience is really nice.
MoreThis review is coming from someone who doesn’t waste food.We ordered thali, hot n sour soup, aloo paratha. The taste for all the items was weird and stale. We hardly did not even eat 5% of it even though we were super hungry. After paying the bill we went to another Indian restaurant.
MoreThey overcharge us for the food and added some kind of surcharge without telling us what it is for. Very dishonest business practice. Also the food is way too salty and oily.
MoreIt’s excellent, I ordered by Rappi and was very impressed with the quality of the food. The onion pakoras were mouth watering and I greatly appreciate the chefs attention to detail. Highly recommended between this location and their Polanco location, I’ve never had a bad meal. Excellent job to bring a taste of Indian food for good value to CDMX!
MoreWide array of dishes, great flavor, decent prices. Come for a slice of India
Good overall experience, delicious vegeterian Indian food in heart of Mexico city. My son loved Panner butter masala, we liked Deluxe Thali. Mango Lassi was yummy 😋.Surprise Indian folk dance during our visit time.True Hidden Indian gem in heart of Mexico City, highly recommended !!!
MoreOpening hours not reliableFinally found a vegetarian restaurant with good reviews in CMDX. Google maps and their Facebook page say they are open t’ill 10, we arrive at 9pm to see the bar door halfway closed.Apparently the chef had already left, well over an hour before closing time.
MoreI have to say I am happily surprised to find an authentic Indian restaurant in such an well located place in the heart of Mexico City. You can enjoy from the restaurant the zocalo view eating great authentic home taste freshly made Indian food. It is fully vegetarian and the variety is broad. The first and second floor are furniture and clothing sections while on top you have the restaurant. It would have a 5 star if I they would have the dal makhani that this particular day ran out and it would be great if they had South Indian food as well. The one thing I really missed that I wish I could have seen there since they have so many great things from India was a corner specialized for Indian groceries, spices tea, Garam masala, instant food for like dosa, iidli, puris to fry, Indian snacks and such would be great in addition to cooking and table ware. if they would have them this place would be perfect
MoreI was worried that the food wouldn’t be good once I realized it was all vegetarian… but the food here is GREAT!!! You don’t even miss the meat.We got the Thali Especial. Definitely recommend
Moregood Prices for indian food.cool atmosphere.
Its like a store and restaurant. Many things are available here and food was really good. Didnt like the Veg biryani though as it was more like Mexican rice.
MorePass your Way if you look for traditional indian Food. Its indian style but mexican taste. Not bad though.
MoreThe place is very beautiful, bright and spacious. However we waited over an hour for our food and eventually left. After 20 minutes passed, they told us it would be another 20 minutes. And we said sure, no problem. But then after another 40 minutes they came and brought us some salads on the house, but the salads had no dressing and were very tasteless, and we didnt want to spoil our appetite by eating them. So eventually we just left, very unsatisfied.
MoreThis place deserves more than 5 stars. I lived in England for 18 years and finally last year I decided to move back to Mexico, as many of you might know England is massive on Indian food and culture and I do crave it alot! But One thing I noticed is that Indian food is very scarse in Mexico. Weve found Indian overpriced restaurants which were nothing like the real thing. Until we stumbled across this hidden gem. The food is amazing! Its very authentic, every single food including their lemonades are amazing. They have sazón! I truly recommend this place if you want to taste authentic Indian flavours. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the prices are insanely cheap. So if youre looking for a good Indian restaurant, this is the one. It hits the 3 Bs. Bueno, bonito y barato!
MoreExcellent taste like home cooked vegetarian food. Reasonably priced. Peaceful and calm seating arrangement.
MoreNice and perfect place to have authentic Indian veg food. the flavors and taste are excellent. unfortunately on this pangamic stage they dont have utensil for takeaway
MoreThis place is near to the Zocalo.Location is very good. This place is at the second floor in a store where ground and first floor are for indian ethnic wear and antique items. It has great ambience too.Now coming to the bad part which is definitely the food.I have ordered Paneer Tikka(starterDal tadka,Kadhai Paneer and Garlic Naan. Taste and quality of the ordered items were not good and also starter came at last. Service was horrible 😫. I ordered an extra garlic naan and it came after 25 minutes.
MoreVery nice place , food and staff
A true desi experience combined with amazing food (more authentic than most indian food Ive come across in Mexico). The thalis are truly authentic and cover the basic desi meal. The shops have great indian stuff, from gods to kurthas/Kurthis. The shops smell like India with the insense appealing to the senses. And the three levels of variety make this my favorite spiritual/authentic Desi place in Ciudad de México!
MoreI had dinner here on December 1, 2020. It has everything you expect at an Indian restaurant, pictures and statues of elephants, incense, Bollywood music videos on the TV.The food and service were excellent. No complaints. I would go again if I were not going back to Texas the following morning.
MoreIts so big. Didnt expect such a big place, so much to see and taste.
Really very delicious Indian food I ordered thali and mango lassi was very tasty. And happy to see lot of Indian stuffs here. Like sarees, suit, some traditional stuff.I visited in September 2019.
MoreWe enjoyed our meal here! Pretty good flavor, the garlic naan was particularly yummy. However, we ordered a mango lassi and the flavor was nothing like mango. Overall a good option for vegetarians, especially given that others we found in the area were a bit disappointing. Wed come here again!
MoreI like this place a lot. Im giving it two stars due to the fact that the food has lost its flavor. I dont know if the owner or chef changed, but it used to be better. Other than that its a great place to buy nice Indian attire.
MoreThe place doesnt have Indian vibes. Its more kinda arabic theme restaurant with indian cuisine. The restaurant is pure vegetarian. Food is quite average, but best part is they have Indian food, its economical.Worst part is service, very slow service its took around complete one hour to get my food on table. Staff dont understand English so its really tough to get your things communicated.
MoreBest Veg place in mexico city, can do better in ambience but thats not what you should look for
MoreLike the flavor and the low prices, nice attention and also a variety of traditions converge in the place. Music, dance, and a lot of Indian, Arabian stuff to buy.
MoreMixed experience, We Visited them first time last Fri, ordered special thali and a few a la carte and were amazed by the food taste ..it had buttery smokey flavor which was reminiscent of our Delhi food. We loved it..So, we visited them again this Sunday but were disappointed by the taste of food...very simple and not at all impressive. Probably because it was very crowded that day and it might have been difficult to manage the food...but surprised to see some live folk dances..unfortunately not from India but from Middle east asia. Anyways, not a bad experience but for a vegetarian, choices are good.
MoreFood is not the most authentic indian food, but can live with it.Service and ambience is great, loads of space and in the middle of city square.
More“Special thali” delicious, variety, mango lassi, etc. 100% worth the price
Came here for lunch Monday....it was empty but I dont know why...I had the "thali special" and it was great. All the flavours from India on one plate. Ill diffinatley be coming back here again for dinner and try individual dishes next time.
MoreI dont have much experience with Indian food, so I cannot compare it to much. However, I loved it. I got the platter that gives you a little bit of everything and shared it with my son, who is five. Most items are only mildly spicy, if spicy at all, and the bread was wonderful. Service was a but slow when we orders additional items but not enough to stop me from coming back. It also had a play area, which kept my son entertained.
MoreThey offer a very nice thali in which you can have little taste of everthing important.Food is not that spicy and service is okayResturant is completely vegetarian.Badam lassi is really good.Panner starter was also delicious.Came twice to this restuarnt but os always kind of empty,Not much people and quiet place.Music they put is nice but the video that played on TV is completely opposite. They put old classic songs and the video played is from Imran hasmi movies which ia really funny.
MoreQuality of the food and the people who work here could have better.
One of the best authentic Indian restaurant in mexico city. The price and quantity ratio was good . The cook was really good and we loved the food . Must try if you are looking for Indian food. There is Arabic dance show every Saturday & Sunday , you can also spend a good time , if you are lover of live arabic performance .We also enjoyed a really nice ginger tea !
MoreFood OK, awful service. Had to wait 20 minutes to be told that lassi was finished plus 20 more to get our actual drinks. Not good with hungry thirsty tired girls. And restaurant was almost empty, seems it was first day of most waiters. Not really authentic, e.g. got Panela cheese instead of Paneer and black lentils diluted with beans.Affordablee prices, Ok food. Come if you aren’t in a hurry.Has small children’s playground.Had to wait 15 min for bill, they tried to charge me a drink they never brought.
MoreThe Vegetarian only North Indian style restaurant is great. We loved the thin crispy Garlic Naan and had a Kadai Paneer, onion lime dish (complimentary as like in India+ mango lassi to go along which was really tasty. The Servers speak Spanish( and we don’t so she called the Indian Chef ( they have 4 based on timesand we discussed different options in Hindi with Arjun Singh which is always a nice to have ! We would definitely come here for the rest of our stay in Mexico City.
MoreAwesome North Indian foodAuthentic taste and service also goodReally value for moneyOnly vegetarian food but worth it.
MoreThis review is for the restaurant located on the 3rd floor. The food here is pretty authentic. The chef here is from a small town in Northern India and really knows how to make authentic Indian food. This is a vegetarian restaurant so definitely go here if you are looking for some veg food (which is hard to find in Mexico City). We ordered their Special Thali and every single dish was fabulous. The food is colorful, flavorful, and satiating. They dont make the dishes unnecessarily hot and make them with the right amount of spice.
MoreIf youre looking for comfort food and Indian food does it for you this place is great. I highly recommend the Thali special. The prices are fair and the seasoning and dishes are fairly authentic. This has a vegetarian selection right in middle of Zócalo great service and always enough space.🍴
