India Along the Nile - Indian restaurant in Al Jizah, Egypt
Authentic Indian flavors in a relaxed setting. Great vegetarian and non-veg options. The lamb Vindaloo has flavors that bring you back to India. The daal Mahkhani was to die for. The service is prompt and the servers are very courteous.
Good place and good dinner
Food was great, make sure to get the lamb!
Amazing food, great staff checking all is okay, very kind!
Lovely atmosphere, polite and courteous staff who were attentive to needs. Maged was our waiter and was very nice- engaging and knowledgeable. Food was very good, tasty and good portion sizes - we had no room for dessert!
Fantastic food and service. Best food experience in Egypt so far. Highly recommend to all.
We had nice food, en good service from the waiter.
The restaurant is lovely and serves delicious Indian cuisine. But best of all, the service is stellar. Maged was very attentive and courteous. The rest of the staff took great care in preparing the food for us. Highly recommend!
Good ambience, food not so good as we get in India .
it was a good experience in egypt.
Nice atmosphere, very tasty food, excellent service, only the portions are a bit small
Ordered 1 Chicken Biryani, 1 Lamb Curry, 1 bread and 2 soft drinks. Bill came to around 932EGP which was extortionate for the portion size. Nice atmosphere in restaurant but I felt like the loud Indian dance music was inappropriate for a restaurant setting. Food had no flavour or depth, I asked for extra spice in both dishes but both came bland and lacking salt.Chicken Biryani was described as a Dum Biryani on the menu but came in an open bowl and was overpowered by a strong cardamom flavour which felt like biting into a cardamom with every morsel, chicken was also very dry. Our waiter Mohammed was nice and courteous but it was a little off-putting that he was smoking a cigarette in the bar whilst serving customers
I loved this restaurant, I didn’t eat this Indian food quality for months! Mohammed is a great waiter! Very attentive to details and willing to help. I’d highly recommend this place to friends of mine coming to Cairo.
Excellent Indian food! Probably my best Indian food experience outside of India.
Great service and the food tasted delicious
Absolutely amazing, delicious food! Good for vegetarians, plus you also get alcohol there 🤭 the staff is veery friendly, so you feel like home. Would definitely come back if I got the chance. We reserved via the page, as it is a restaurant belonging to the hotel, so didnt want to risk it.
Great service; food was great and the people are very polite
Gajar ka Halwa was fantastic -- less sugar, nicely prepared, with hint of saffron and rose. I am an Indian, and a foodie, and I loved this place.
Delicious food!Gajar ka halwa, must try 👌
Best Indian food in town! The flavours are wonderful and the quality and service are outstanding. Our hostess Norhan and the manager Mr. Wael Allam provided great advice with the menu, took care of us, and continuesly followed up with us. I fully recommend this place!!
Excellent and delicious indian food and hospitality. Mr Wael Allam was extremely knowledgable about indian food and recommended some excellent dishes. The food was fresh, light and there was amazing variety. Will definitely come back for more.
Underwhelming experience. Service is fantastic, but the food… For ex., the Mango Lassi was one of the worst I ever had, the Lamb lacked spices. Kulfi was ok, but I truly don‘t get why this place gets all those great reviews
Very good restaurant India very good food and staff Nourhan and Mr Mohamed kamal
Good food, ambiance and amazing hospitality by Sahar
Nan and eggplant masala was goodFood came quicklyThe servers were very attentive and pleasant
Really enjoyed our meal here. The food was amazing and service was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Food is so so . The gravy tastes sweet for some reason . Not worth the hefty price .
Very difficult to find the hotel as it’s inside a big building . Food was ok and prices were expensive compared to other Egyptian places.
Awesome food, great presentation. Def would recommend. Of course authentic taste
Excellent food and great service. Good selection of Indian dishes. Very conscientious regarding food allergies.
Fantastic Indian food in a place with great ambiance. From when we entered staff were warm and friendly. Flavor and authenticity of food is spot on. We requested spicy and it was the right level without overpowering. Good selection of wine and beer from a full bar.
Best Indian food I have had in Egypt. Reminds me of homeThanks
Ambiance is good but limited varites and expensive
The whole experience, from reservation to check was incredible. We were greeted and served throughout the whole night by the maitre. The food was delicious, especially the Butter sauce Chicken. There will definitely be more visits in the future.
Great food. Quality of food was impeccable!
we ordered food for takeaway but they still charged us 12% service charge which we argued was incorrect but they said its the restaurant rules so they cant do anything. this would be the only place ive eaten that serves biryani without raita or yogurt and ask you to order that seperately. the food is pricey and quantity small. We ordered from another nearby indian restaurant before n it was much worth the money spent. Hated the whole expirience to say the least.
Kashmiri rogan josh was awefull not cooked at all, paneer makhani tasted sugar all over
Enchanting evening. The atmosphere was calm (hard to find in Cairo), the maître d charming and engaging (he even exchanged a few German words with me when he learnt I was from Switzerlandand the food was outstanding: subtle flavours, perfectly balanced, the meat was tender, the rice fluffy and the naan aromatic. The mango lassi was to die for. Reasonable price for the overall experience. I wish to return!
Crazily amazing delicious Indian taste and peaceful placeBut the prices should be reconsidered again !!
Excellent place and atmosphere. Service was very good as well. Portions are humongous
Delicious Indian food prepared under Head Chef Sanjib Kumar from Kolkata. Perhaps the best one in Cairo city at a lovely location next to Nile inside IHGs Intercontinental Hotel Cairo. Ordered Palak Paneer, Dal Tadka, Mix Veg Raita along with some Naan , the waiting time was average around 15 - 20 min but want came was sumptuous. Quantity was decent as well at a pricing of around 400 INR for Dal and 600 for Palak was worth it. Ambience was average but that didnt matter against the quality food
Fine dining restaurant. Generous portions prepared by the head chef Sanjib Kumar. Chefs delight was the Carrot Halwa he prepared for us exclusively.
Amazing Indian food (not very spicy but very flavorful). Decent collection of cocktails and delicious desserts!
Perfect... Since 2015,,, I tried many Indian Restaurants in Cairo, but this1 is the best for real Indian taste..... Pleasant Indian theme.. Also Staff, Hospitality, Menu, Location, etc. .... Everything is superb here... Highly recommended...👍👍
From the marvellous reception from the staff and excellent food we found our experience faultless. Portions were big, flavour was authentic, service was spot on. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed the hospitality as well as food. Chef made dishes beyond the menu. I wud strongly recommend it to anyone who wishes to have Indian cuisinee in Cairo. Worth repeating
This is the best and the only indian restaurant in cairo...tried other indian restaurant but all useles...this restaurant has authentic indian taste ...having touch of delhi side food...must have if you are having craving for real indian food
I recently visited this restaurant with my family and I can say that the food was awesome, hospitality was just great. If anyone ever want to have Indian food in or nearby Cairo... I must say this is the place to go for. Full marks for everything :)
All I can say that the Indian along the Nile restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious and the service is five stars. Highly recommend it for all people around the world who visit Cairo.
Ive now dined here 2 times in 3 days, and upgraded my rating to 5 star. Clean, sleek, contemporary, and very relaxed space. The two Indian chefs (Harish & Alicirculate among the guests and are genuinely interested in making a great dining experience. They love their food, and it shows. Chicken tikka masala, saag paneer - delicious, creamy, rich, and spiced to "Indian level" at my request. Large portion sizes, and nice food presentation. This restaurant would be great for "date night" or groups of friends. Expect about 300-400LE for 2 people, without alcohol.
