Nice place to go and meet Dominican people
This is the fulcrum of Dominican history. Every turning point is here.
Nice place to visit as a tourist area is usually crowded and a little run down but hey its the DLl
History of some heroes, (bust statuesand at the point of my visit the walk around pool was empty.... The arch entrance is a nice shot for some pictures...
OK, good if youve got a tour guide with u to put the history in context!
Not good a all dirty unsecured and abandoned
This is a great site to visit and the guides will happily take you around and to other sites in walking distance.
Turistic site .Cool area to sit and drink fresh beer...
Nice and clean ,the colonial zone is so romantic.
you need to understand Spanish, they have a ton of history here
The Conde’s Door
it is a very beautiful amusement park there are many trees and it gives such freshness we breathe very well and it is very ecological
Nice 👍
Independance Park is at the entrance to the Old Town. The small plaza in the centre of Santo Domingo can be entered via the Puerte del Conde which is very photogenic. There is several memorial statues to national heroes and seems to always be peaceful. This is definetly a nice area to visit for tourists or just to relax. So when you are visiting the oldest city in the Americas make it one of the places to go to, you will not be disappointed.
The Independence Park is just after the Puerta del Conde old Spanish gate in the very center of SD.DR had a turbulent history having to fight for its freedom several times against both, Spain and Haiti. This park is a tribute to heroes who led the resistance and fought against Haiti.
Beautiful park, walking distance from Zona Colonial! Nearby restaurants too :)
Nice historic park at the end of the Zona Colonial.
I came expecting to see something worthwhile. I was extremely disappointed. The entrance is all dark, dingy, dirty and horrific. It maybe nice within. First impressions are lasting impressions. Dont bother.
A big place with a lot of statues. Better take a guide to let them explain what the national heroes have done to be honored here.
It was a memorial procession for the buried heroes today, and that makes the place more lively and interesting
This place is truly beautiful and the definition of historic. Its super well kept and I feel anyone who has a chance should take it and visit
What was once a beautiful corner of the Dominican Republic is now just a run down building situated on Playa Rincon. Food is still served but sadly in an environment littered with garbage. No longer a paradise just another natural environment badly abused by its local residents who are just intent on ripping of anyone who visits.
One of the most important historical points of the Dominican Republic. It was there that the Dominican independence was proclaimed on February 27, 1844. Here is the Altar a la Patria, a white marble mausoleum where the remains of the founding fathers rest: Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez and Ramón Matías Mella.
What a beautiful park! I’m am so impressed by all of the statues of Dominican heroes and it beautifully ends, Calle Conde (famous street in the Colonial Zone for shopping and eating). Would recommend to anyone on your tour.
We like to see some parks where to have a room for a break. This one showed a need for some beautynes treatment, but should be preserved for man as relaxing green ground.
Great tall monument from where you have a 360 view overlooking the city. A nice place to visit if you come over Santiago. Full of nice bars and restaurants nearby to enjoy the day.
Nice, clean, well kept. Good to view.
Beautiful historical place!. If you come to Santo Domingo you must visit this place if you are interested on history of Domenican Republic. Impressive Mausoleum.
Very nice park I enjoyed it lots of stores .. lots of paintings.. hotel and restaurant is close very good exactly how I seen it on the internet
Very nice place to visit
Nice park to see characters who are too important to build Dominican Republic.
Great place to walk around and eat.
Very interesting place. Lots of history to see in this park of the oldest continually occupied city in the New World.
The park is absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing, it really makes you feel like youve taken a trip back to colonial times it was truly an amazing experience.
Its a beautiful history place.
Great experience. So you can see must of the people who did possible our independence.
Independence Park, or "Parque Independencia" is located in Zone Colonial, and is at the end of "Calle El Conde" which is the oldest commercial street in the city of Santo Domingo. The monument in which the park is built around has statues of the fathers of the nation as well as the eternal flame. While there really isnt much to do here, its a great place to take photos and rest while you plot the rest of your tourist activities.
It was really cool. There was a stray dog in the park and at closing time they told him to leave he just walked out. It was a great experience. I recommend this place and only 2 bucks to enter. Way worth the money.
Nice history. Just be careful with the traffic. It is crazy. The place is worth seeing.
Theres some really cool stuff to see around here! You can walk around any day of the week for hours visiting the shops and restaurants.
It is a beautiful place to visit and learn the about how America started. However, it is way too expensive. You have to pay too much money for every historic place you visit, when it all should be close to free for people to enjoy.
This is a national monument whose entrance is part of a fotress and guarded by military. It is interesting to see the busts on pedestels of past presidents. There are pleasant places to sit and plenty of shade. However, this is NOT the place to carouse with your friends. Military will politely but firmly enforce respect. So this is a quiet place to sit for contemplation or perhaps reading a book.
Nice place to take some pictures. Wait for the soldiers to fold the flags!
Nice small historical place. Go see statues and grave of founding fathers
