Independence Garden - Park and Garden in Mosta, Malta
Amazing, bring some treats to the sweet cats here :)
Beautiful with a lot of kids play area
Really nice place to go to with family or alone. Nice garden very clean and lovely rocky beach under it.
Great place for kids and youngsters. Could do with a bit of upkeep.
Needs maintenance especially the pond by Dixie kiosk. Get rid of the chickens that is not a patting farm.Still the same.
Beautiful place to distract the mind
There are no cats, a lot of chickens. A dirty place.
That was my favorite place in Sliema. All the cats and chickens were so cute.
Fantastic experience seeing all the cute cats and chickens! Nearby water to have a good swim when the waves arent too high. Also there are bathrooms which are really clean too. I would recommend bringing some tuna or cat food for the best experience!
Good place for a walk, lots of places to sit many of those are in the shade. Spectacular views. Nice playground for kids.
Great place with chicks, chicken, and cats🥰 a nice place to sit, swim and relax!
A great area to relax. Public toilets are also available. Very easy to go to Saint Julians and also to the Valletta-Sliema ferry if you want to walk along the promenade
Loved this park. Toddler and children will love it. There are restaurants arou d tjis place. Easy excess by bus. We walked here.
A very relaxing garden just off the Sliema promenade and a stones throw away from the sea. Great for kids and their scooters or if you need some time alone to read a book. If your into outdoor yoga, this is the place for you
Nice and chilling park to spend the free time.Cats, hens and other birds live next to each other in this park. You can bring some food or donate some accessories. The coast is good for sunbathing, swimming a bit.No animal, nobody disturbs anyone there.
There is a population of stray cats living here, who are given food and sleeping places by locals. So this park permanently has cats inside of it. CATS!! How cool is that?!
Nice garden area with swings for young children. Plants and trees well kept but a decent area needs to be set up for cats and chickens in order to leave the seating for people
Very sweet place. Toilets are REALLY clean and good. I was surprised by the cats and birds together. There were also rusters and chicks. I recommend coming here, cats are nice.
Nice park/beach area with benches. Very quiet considering its located next to a busy road. Excellent place to go for a swim or taking a break while out walking.
Good to relax with some shade and seaview. It is a public garden but has a restaurant as well. It is also seafront so a great spot to swim
Its clean peaceful and love to see how cats and free range chickens live around each other .
Lovely place. Only went in to use toilets. But it started to rain. And had thunder as well. Also had some petting time with some of the cats
Beautiful spot to go for a walk with your friends or your dog but also for a date or a talk as you have lots of benches to sit and its somehow a nature spot with all these bushes and trees. You have a nice view over Exiles from there too
Very nice park with a lot of possibility to play and do outdoor sports.
Good vibes, trees, cats. Sometimes not always clean, unfortunately. But its nice to have a walk there.
Very nice spot to swim and relax
Beautiful garden with great sea views.
I’ve never seen a park with so many cats around :Very cool place in the dense city of Sliema.
Charming long and narrow public garden just below Auberge du Castille. Landscaping design could benefit from further refinement. On the other hand the premises are clean and tidy. An ideal spot to watch the large cruise ships come and go or simply take in the activities in Grand Harbour. Worth a visit and a great place to enjoy a packed lunch.
So many wonderful cats everywhere.Probably best to go in the evening or reasonably late at night when its cooler and the cats seem to be a bit more lively. All the cats are well looked after and all seem to be friendly too.
only one big and nice park with playground for kids in sliema
Its a nice, to visit and walk thought especially in Sliema where there is very little green area. There is playground for kids which is always packed but all kids love it. All toys are in good shape. There is a small water fountain which runs during the summer with a bit of shade and benches and a public restroom which has been recently renovated and is clean. On top of the restroom one can see a big 🐈. After this you can find a few trails with shade and benches to sit on and enjoy the view. The garden is full of homeless cats which the locals feed daily. From the garden one can get access to a rocky beach and usually all this side is busy with tourists. By far this is a popular place visited by tourists for the views that it offers.
Beautiful view and I visit this place every time Im in Malta because of the cats!! 😻😻😻
Very nice garden by the sea. There is public restrooms for a fee. We visited the cafeteria in middle of the park, excellent coffee. There is also a place were cats can sleep in the park, see picture.
What I love in Malta is those lovely places.. Especially when you have children. My son was so happy with all those facilities. I recommend!!!
Great views of St Julian fron here
Great place and view! Many cats 🙀!
Great views. Lots of cats, if youre a cat person and wonderful to swim from in the summer.
If your a cat lover then get yourself over there ,you wont be disappointed take some cat food they will love you forever 🐱🐺its got Cafe & toilets I loved it
Nice park near the sea. There is a small pride of street cats and the monument of Sea cat.
Dedicated to the cats of Malta there is a statue that sits ontop of the toilet buildings. People also. leave foods and water and bedding for them
Awesome local park in the heart of Malta. Independence Garden is a very family friendly park with amazing views, nice playgrounds and even decent public bathrooms. On the weekends it can get packed when the weather is nice so show up early and bring water because it can get hot and you dont want to give up your spot when you go buy some.
Nice park in the heart of the crowded Balluta bay. Childrens toys area, toilets, bar, little promenade next to the sea (sunbathing possible), free WiFi and cute stray cat inhabitants.
Nice place. Not so big. It is open on public holidays as well. Nice view . So many cats. Calm place to Sit.
Perfect place to walk around with your partner and children or just be on your own to sit on a chair and meditate or read a book. It is also a great place to join my Beach FitYoga classes on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. Namaste, Balazs Heller
Independence Garden is a long boardwalk along the foreshore of Sliema. The Gardens are an elaborate collection of warm climate plants and trees and offer visitors many paths, shade shelters, park benches and a huge playground for children.A novelty of the area are several tiny houses for stray cats that are maintained by caring locals.Restoration works have commenced across the entire gardens as of 2017 as the facilities have become a little shabby. Nevertheless, it is one of Maltas best foreshore areas.
Independence garden is next to Sliema promenade.a relaxing area that is also next to the sea. There are play areas for children aswell.
A wonderful spot to relax. Great views over the bay and a decent cafe close by (Dixies Kiosk). The garden has a huge colourful cat on top of one of the buildings and below is a cat refuge.
Awesome park / playground. Note that the playground is accessible even to kids in wheelchairs.
Beautyfull friendly place between sea and the town. Close to main road but wild and quiet. Local free internet provided. You can swim from the rocky beach or drink coffee in bar. A shelter for cats bring them food. There is long sun even late afternoon in winter in here. Opened in the night. I love it.
