Ilanga Resort & Caravan Park in Port Shepstone

Too many permanent residents and no protection from the wind as all the shrubs and trees have been removed to give a "sea view".

I stayed at Ilanga Resort February, very clean excellent security, owner and staff very friendly. On the beach, you wont be disappointed, definitely recommend it.

My wife and I camp at Ilanga during the flooding in KZN in April, besides all the rain we experienced, we found Ilanga to be one of the top class caravan parks on the South Coast and right on the beach. Friendly owners and staff, very clean ablutions with toilet paper, fresh water nearby and power point at each camp site, everything a camper look for. We will return in Dec and hope to experience better weather conditions and to explore the beauty of the ocean and beach.

90% of the park is taken up by permanent "settlers". There was only 1 shaded spot available.The "settlers" had a birthday party on the Saturday and I requested that the music be played a bit softer. It was relayed to me that Oom Janneman refused and said they are allowed to play music until 10pm. I started feeling unwelcome as someone was playing around with the volume. I got an arrogant vibe from them, so I packed up and left to avoid conflict.I was there to camp and relax, not to listen to other peoples music till late hours of the night.We were the only "day visitors" at that stage, so I can only assume that that was the reason for ignoring my request.Im giving 1 star for clean ablutions, security and the fact that we were refunded.Wont visit this place again.

The permanent campers is a huge put-off.

Friendly people... great service with neat and clean campsites and bathrooms. I can recomend this place for the eldery persons who needs pease and quiet and you can bring your doggy with! I love this place.

Thank you Nicky and Janneman for accomadating us and making sure all our requests were met. Ablution were kept clean most of our stay! Security was impeccable and the resort was neat and clean. Great views! Well done Team.

We visited Illangs resort at Banana beach in Feb 2021 and immediately felt welcome. Its a good feeling place. Every wherever we walk through the camp we were met with greeting and generous smiles. The owners were warm hearted pet lovers. The ablutions were spotless clean and beautiful.I loved the security.YES!! FOR SURE we are planning to return there.Irma and Frik Fourie.

Best sea view ever unless you are on a stand that has an "A" stand in front of you - then you get a caravan view when someone camps on the "A" stand 😪However did have a great time in the two months we were there when we did have sea view.

We come to Ilanga often and just love the camping grounds. We love it so much we are going back in November.The Parks personnel are very friendly and always helpful. Ablution facilities are very clean and laundry room makes it easy to wash and dry the weeks clothes before heading back to reality. The park is very well secured and patrolled daily, ensuring a well relaxed and safe stay.The restaurant in the park makes thé Absolute Best Cheesy Chips. No really, it is thé Best weve had!!!All entry points to the beach makes it so easy and quick to just hop down for a walk or a dip in the tidalpool just a stone throw away.Already planning our March 21 trip to Ilanga...

If i can give this place no star at all will! I came upon this place my Husband booked a night we got there around 4pm and left at 7pm and no water for 3 hours! The owner told me its a water issue and we must be patient After that i couldnt take it anymore and decided to leave because my son couldnt bath we were all full of sand no tv either you must take your own decoder! No wifi no nothing as we packed and left we stopped at the gate to get our money refunded the man owner started waveing his hands shouting and carrying on!I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!

I can start with saying what a warm welcome you get when arriving at the park... Staff and owners are so helpful and friendly... Make you feel like family... The caravan park has an amazing restaurant with great food and do yourself a favor and try there pizza... Its really good... Lovely deck with a breath taking view for those beautiful sundowner.... The amblusion blocks are really neat and well maintained... Clean and 5star quilty... The stands are very spacious and plenty of shades with beautiful big trees all round... Nice pool area were you can relax after a long hot day... And if you feel like a tan... The beach is literally 5m away.... Will recommend it to anyone young or on retirement... Peaceful... Fun.. Best and safest resort. Very clean ablutions. Owner patrols the park at night.friendly staff. No electricity or water problems.

The best owner management resort I have been to. Janneman and Nicky must the friendliest owners and always willing to assist. Water pressure at the ablutions might be a problem due to the local municipality pressure feed. You will see us again.

Was there in Dec. Left early. Park really not great. Be prepared, not have no electricity for at least 60% of the time you are there, and then be prepared, to be blamed for the reason, even if you have been camping there for 5 days with no problem. Management very poor, and the owners do not know how to treat their customers. Park really a massive disappointment.

Great spot we will be going there a lot for sure. Kids loved it.

Horrible place , managment does not know how does not manage the place properly, always no water presure with the showers , always an excuse as to no water with management giving a response "just shake it off".Managment not maintaining the place properly , giving staff instruction to start cutting grass at 07:30 in the morning because people are arriving the next day after the had a full afternoon the previous day to cut grass.They just do not care about the campers as they refer to the kids as "just another camper".Would not recommend this place to anybody

Good shaded and well spaced camp grounds. Ablution blocks need some attention. But the ocean is on your doorstep!

The management and staff do a lot af activities for the children to keep them busy. Very clean ablution facilities and very friendly and helpful people. 50m from the beach. Very Safe with Good Lighting on the beach.

Lively holiday vibe yet peaceful.

Its more for people who dont have kids because the games room isnt in a good shape and closes early and the jungle gym is right next to the pool so you cant really play at night but the view is amazing and you could walk to the beach

A very quiet caravan park with lovely stands which are protected from the harsh winds by bushes. There are stands with a view of the ocean but its best to just walk 20 meters to a secured gate and watch the ocean in peace on a little bench. Often seen whales and dolphins and always fun to watch the fisherman getting nice big fish right in front of the stands.
