Beautiful venue with large windows looking out to the street. Wonderful natural light and breeze. Their mocha is better than most, and reasonably priced.

I found this place on Google! Well great experience, im not sure if the owner is taking the orders but he was really welcoming and patient, since it was our first time there we werent sure what to order.Their cook man approached us and recommend us their Egg Benedict ( which is not on the menu they have sausage Benedict, and the classic. You can always ask.Price was really fair for Burlingame :)!

Great service, decent coffee. However, food was HUGE disappointment. I missed the review that said dont order the special. She was so not wrong. Worst breakfast I ever had. The "special" had two barely cooked eggs and a waffle that couldnt even dream of being crispy. The soft waffle had absolutely zero flavor either. Just bad. Hubby had burrito. Country potatoes were pretty good but his burrito kept leaking pools of fluid. Sorry guys, we wont be back.

My first time there. The food and coffee was great but there was a strange moment when two guys who were sitting outside verbally harassing 3 women customers. I mentioned it to the manager and to his credit he took care of it. Ill be back next week.

Nice airy space with two rooms, each with large windows facing street, plus a covered patio area, and a couple more tables on sidewalk. Very good coffee and pastries, though coffee menu could use a little more variety. Wifi is good.

Excellent breakfast and atmosphere. The presentation and the service from the chef of the IL PICCOLO breakfast was perfect and the potatoes seasoned excellently - not too little and not over seasoned with the over easy eggs cooked just right, toast and perfectly sliced avocados.

One of my favorite spots to sit and work. A beautiful, European-influenced cafe with a delicious menu and fast, friendly service. When the windows open (and the weather cooperates), the outdoor seating area is perfect.

Cold building, cold food, didn’t clear our dishes but the coffee was good.

Good if you get the right dish. Great ambience but do not get the Piccolo special. Youll wonder why you spent $19 on something you couldve prepared at home for 5$ tops. Their eggs Benedict is great but only served on the weekends.

Delightful small café with a rustic, woody, European/Mediterranean vibe, lots of sunlight and air through the windowed storefront. Food: fries are blonde and well-salted, also an option for salad. Ordered a BLT and iced americano; both were delicious for brunch and the americano is richly bitter but nutty. Service staff are friendly and conversational, and the cook brought my meal to my table himself (traffic was light). Been coming here for about a year as I live nearby, would definitely recommend!

Great local restaurant. Clean, great coffee, great breakfast, Google brought me here and Im happy to know this place. I had il Piccolo breakfast. I couldnt eat it all.

Cute quaint cafe/coffee shop. Went for breakfast which was okay. The open window and doors is not conducive to enjoying a hot breakfast as food cooks too quickly. I had the IL Piccolo breakfast. Which on menu states: Italian bacon, eggs, potatoes and toast. Disappointed as its a 2 piece cherrywood bacon that need a little more fire (cooktimeperfectly prepared scrambled English eggs, some red breakfast potatoes and one slice cut in half dry toast. No butter or jelly, jam or accompaniment offered.Very good dark roast coffee. Everything was great to start but half way through 5-8 minutes... everything became cold. Eggs were great at the start but not when they get cold. Same with potatoes and bacon. Nice folks work here. I would return when its a warm day.

Omelette with green bell pepper, sausage, spinach and mozzarella. Super light, didnt think Id finish it all! Their dark roast coffee was good too, bitter but deep small sweetness then comes back with a lighter bitterness. Great looking restaurant with sky-lights and rustic euro hole in the wall look. Clean and polite staff

Cute place, quick service, my dish was tasty but her dish and water glass tasted if soap.Hope it was a one-off but doubt well be back to find out.

We enjoyed an impromptu lunch in Burlingame. Their hummus & dolmas are so good! Also enjoyed the pecan bar.

The food is delicious, and we love the atmosphere. I definitely recommend this cozy spot for a taste of Italy!!!

This is my second " weird " review of a cafe on Broadway. Dont misunderstand- the food itself is fantastic. But the service... The webpage says that the cafe opens at 7 a.m. I was there at 7: 15 to get breakfast only to be told that the kitchen opens at 8 a.m. In my entire career as a chef and a caterer Ive never heard of a cafe or a restaurant where a cook had the luxury of showing up for work one hour after the cafe officially opens. If I were the chef, Id be at my station by 5 a.m. But what really confuses a customer is that the ad for the breakfast special was already on the counter at 7: 15. If the kitchen is closed, why mislead your customers? You can put out the sign at 8 a.m. when the kitchen opens. As a fellow professional I dont understand any of this. But like I said- the food itself is out of this world.

I stopped by here today had some awesome service and good food! I am in town for a day and I was looking for a place to eat and do some work on my iPad. I’m so happy I found this place. Definitely will visit again when I come back into town! Thanks for everything!

On my way to Starbucks & right across the street was this independent coffee house. Decided to support small business owner & it was a great choice. Kamal, the owner greeted me. Super cool guy. I ordered a house coffee & it destroyed what Starbucks was brewing. If youre in the area & feel like a good cup of coffee I recommend stopping in. Kamal also has a quality food menu. Not the cheapest but I ordered a grass fed burger & it was also really good. Nice area, good coffee & food but most important was being able to help small business owner keep his doors open.

It is such a pleasure to get an omelet that is made by someone who knows. I travel alot and get so tired of seeing a brown half disk appear on my table. These folks put out a beautiful, fluffy yellow creation of love without a trace of brown anywhere. Really nice people, coffee is fantastic.

Excellent sandwich.Stopping in after reading the menu, I was drawn towards two choices settling on the Broadway Po-boy, at the time of ordering.What a sandwich!Thinly sliced (thinner than paper!), seasoned meats with mixed havarti and white, grated, cheeses, and kalmata olives with tomato slices.Served on warm roll and a choice of salad or fries, this was a hit!Pastries and sweets are fresh, real, and delicious.Friendly and polite service.This place is a nugget!

First time here as was visiting, I ordered the goat cheese omelet and it was one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had. I love the French style of thin layers of egg with the filling mixed in after rather than a big chunky omelette.Also, I don’t do starches so I declined the toast but my plate came with a bunch of breakfast potatoes so I was a bit bummed to have spent $15 on just the omelette. Not their fault, as I should’ve asked but the always smiling owner came over and very graciously gave me five dollars back.What a wonderful place!

Charming environment with some tasty food. The main issue though is the sometimes very small portion sizes for the price. The french toast was over $12 and they only served 4 tiny pieces of bread. They serve more bread for free at restaurants...

This is such a great place. Just had breakfast here. Delicious food. The coffee is consistently good. The setting is relaxed, tasteful and very easy to be in. The people are all lovely - they make us feel like family. So glad they are here. 5 stars on all counts.

Spinach and egg sandwich (picturedwith potato wedges. Delish! Boyfriend had the french toast and was happy it was served with nuts and maple syrup. We both enjoyed our dishes. Latte and mocha were both alright. Rating 4 stars as the place is pricer than expected (meal was $44 with 13% tip). They served the drinks in to-go cups and didnt have full table service.

Love the updated interior- clean and bright. Coffees were good. Lots of attractive looking pastries. Still feels like a cosy neighborhood cafe.

This place really surprised me. My coffee and omelette were wonderful. Interior was lovely, walls had vibrant paintings and they played my type of music. Most interesting were their coffee bean encased tables. Will be back certainly for a taste of the other food items on their menu.

This is one of the best breakfast experience I’ve had. Superb omelette and great coffee and pastries. Can’t say enough about ‘‘tis place , the good and staff- just wonderful.

The coffee was great. And the man who waited on us was attentive to our needs. The portions were generous. The Greek omelet was excellent especially the olives!!

For the many years we have lived in Burlingame, this has been by far our favorite coffee shop. The family that owned it and the people who worked for them were always gracious, and the coffee and food always just right. We were so sorry to see them close the end of last November, and are buoyed by their assurance that the new owners are a local family. We are also reassured (by peeking in the windowsthat the essential character of the place will remain unchanged. I should add that the music they played was the best of any public establishment in the area; I can only hope the new owners were listening.

Above average coffee spot down on Broadway. This is the best spot I have found in the hood so far. They seem to be loved by their regulars, which are plenty. The menu is fairly diverse, I picked out a popular breakfast sandwich to pair up my sugary latte. The size was fantastic, greens or fruit on the side. However the ingredients fell short in terms of freshness. It really was a great combination of vegetables along with the sausage, but it was cooked in with the heavy crema so I could not get a feel for the sliminess of the veggies versus the cream. Either way it was decent and I recommend this spot if you find yourself on Broadway.

Friendly, welcoming service above all. Place is laid back (order at the counter, food is brought out). In the middle of the day on a weekday, about 50% of tables were occupied with people working on laptops or reading. Huge portions. I got a giant and generously-baconed BLT, with avacado added for extra charge. Very nice. Would return.

Nice pastries and laid back. Went there on Saturday with friends and really liked the spot. Staff was friendly and they had enough space in there for a party of four to sit down comfortably and enjoy coffee and sweets. Recommend it if youre in the area.

Good coffee, great service and amazing atmosphere. Having an original old school authetic coffee house in the neighbourhood is a breath of fresh oxygen we get from the overly sugared unhealthy, streamlined corporate coffee invasion we have to suffer through. Way to go Piccolo!!!

Cozy Italian coffee shop. I had a cappuccino and and a carrot cake. Both are awesome. The place service breakfast lunch, and dinner. I only tried the coffee and cake. Great friendly service and staff.

Just moved here. Work from home/coffee shops. I LOVE this place. Great working, super chill and the way coffee shops should have remained. (I kinda chuckle at SBX for thinking they could go in across the street from this historic, authentic establishmentYou can tell it is full of regulars who know each other and the baristas are the nicest and make me feel awesome both times Ive come in. They are just happy, cool people. Also, I always have a good selection of wonderful places to sit. Lots of cozy spots and good outlets to plug in. Last time I came in I got the most beautiful breakfast bowl and the yogurt was Greek yogurt with beautiful, tropical fruit and granola. Havent had any yet but their pastries look amazing. I wish I could work from here every day! Extra props for having yummy flavors of coffee. On today: Chocolate Chip Cookie flavor.

Love this place, although weve only been 2-3 times and its not the cheapest place. Wonderful airy, chilled, earthy cafe atmosphere. I felt pampered somehow, just sitting there and drinking some hot mocha. The pastries are good, and the pasta dishes are substantial and extra garlicky. Staff are wonderfully patient and helpful.

Instead of going to Starbucks across the street: over roasted corporate greed in a cup. Why not support a local business by coming here, enjoy damn fine coffee and even better service. IL Piccolo is my first stop in the morning. Incredible sense of community and great coffee. As important is the fact that they are the most efficient coffee shop in town. Im usually in a hurry and they get me out in under 2 minutes.
