Il Moro - Southern Comfort Food Restaurant in Bologna, Italy
Il Moro in Bologna
Description
Privilege
Risotto was super and the tortellini was very tasty. Friendly staff as well and good location. Recommended.
MoreNot sure how I did not see that this restourant is trap for tourists. We had ragu bolognese and lets just say you can make better pasta at home. Portion size was really small too.
MoreI do not usually leave reviews, can’t let this one slide. Do yourself a favor and skip it. There’s a lot of good restaurants around, just not this one.
MoreGreat restaurant, with lovely food. Definitely recommended, we ate there twice!
We only had 40 minutes and wanted something to eat. The food came really quickly after we ordered and it was very tasty! Service was great, very friendly staff and great overall experience. Would definitely recommend!
MoreLovely restaurant down a side street, staff were great, food was the best we had in Bologna.
MoreNice and comfy place, had seafood soup it was really nice but was disappointed with mixed fish grill ( most expensive on the menuabsolutely 0 taste and horrible burn smell therefore only 2 stars
MoreMaybe we were lucky but this restaurant is easily worth *****, the pasta and the three desserts “pack” were very tasty. Would return of I could
MoreReally nice place with great service and amazing lasagna!!! Highly recommended.
Mediocre food + very salty. The aperol spritz is also not very good. Don’t order the French fries because they are in fact not French Fries. They are salty potatoes that will make you never want to eat salt again.
MoreThe food was very nice but I have to say that I have had better. You can tell they give love to the place and the food. Waiters are also very nice. The toilets are very clean and nice. It was a little to expensive I expected cheaper but other then that very nice
MoreFood was ok, but we receive the entrance later than the main plate and we were also charged 20% as cover. There are better places around.
MoreTheir Octopus dishes (Octopus salad and grilled Octopusare AMAZING!However, their Bolognese stuff (e.g., tagliatelle ala Bologneseare really tasteless; you can "smell the animal" in the cooked minced meat. The meat is gray and bare. I have never been more shocked by a pasta dish than the tagliatelle ala Bolognese that I had there. I could not touch the meat and only ate the pasta. :-(The staff are very friendly. However, for one of the dinners, they first brought the water and served it before they tell us that their Pizza oven will not work that night. We wanted pizza, but they took away our option (to leave and go to another restaurantby serving the water first!
MoreFantastic restaurant! The dishes were excellent and the servers were extremely helpful. You have a nice view on the teras and the tables are distinctly dressed. You feel welcome and there is no rush at all. A feeling we found harder to recapture in other restaurants in Bologna.
MoreFor the price it wasnt worth it. The food was ok and the service was good.
Just walk on.So many great places in Bologna - this isn’t one of them.Mushrooms were boring, watery and no taste in them.Couldn’t buy pizza, even do that it was on the menu.Bread was dry, and got it only at the secundari dish.
MoreTesty food, very nice staff, silent place
Not too bad. Services good and friendly.
Super bad food, untasty, expensive. Burrata is even worse than ones in supermarket.People is nice, but dont recommend it
MoreMy family and I ate at IL More during our first night in Bologna. The food was delicious. The service was good. I ordered the spaghetti with seafood, and it was amazing. The food was priced resonably. I will definitely recommend IL Moro.
MoreFood it is nice. During spring has a terrace where enjoy your meal. The service charge it is high so expect a 3€ per person extra on your bill
MoreThis place was expensive, and the food was so-so compared to the rest of the places we went to in Bologna. But compared to the rest of my trip, still one of the better spots.
MoreIs a fantastic place with great food !! The octopus is fantastic and I really recomand the antipasti seafood !The waiter Antonio was very friendly and professional!!Good food good service !We go there many times and we willGo again!
MoreThe place its the best restaurant in the city center. We had dinner here 2 times during Cosmoprof and we eat very good with value for the money.I would recommend their place to anyone.Thank you!
MoreThe best place to eat in Bologna with typical bolognese food and traditional preparation. Visiting for Cosmoprof Show and had a good time!!
MoreOld fashion local food, very good piza, pata, meatis excelent, service is smooth and proffesional, good place
MoreMy pasta with squid & clams was very very salty, unable to taste anything apart from salt taste..maybe a mistake? Service charge already 3 euro as fact.
MoreDespite it’s a touristic place I was very satisfied with the quality and taste of the food. Omg it was really tasty and good served. In case you’ve missed “official” lunch time just go there and enjoy good pasta (Rigatoni il Moro it’s my recommendation)
MoreFantastic place, which is hidden down the side road, so find this gem and compare your meals as this was the beat weve had in our 4 days of eating out here in Bologna. The staff were fantastic and attentive, making recommendations and generally more helpful than the other places we ate at. The mixed grill which was Grigliata mista del "Moro" all brace was a combination of filet steak, chicken and pork filets as well as grilled Courgette and other vegetables on a plate with lovely seasoned potatoes. It had to be shared between 2 people, so luckily one of the group had to appetite for this sharing platter as it was huge. We also asked for a mixed salad, but asked for onions which they gladly chopped into our salads. The other 4 in our group had a mixture of meals, which we all agreed were the best weve had all week. Great house red wine at €28 a bottle, and the girls had a white fizzy wine which was like Prosecco, but even better Italian version of.I thoroughly recommend this lovely quant restaurant, as the food and staff were amazing. Nice final meal in our 4 day long weekend in Bologna. Italians were magnificent hosts, so we will definitely come again. Bologna is a great place to visit. Also please book a guided walking tour on your first day here, as youll really find your bearings before you start exploring this brilliant city.
MoreFood was frozen and reheated. Took a long time for it to be served so it got cold as well. Worse quality than buying a TV dinner and reheating at home.
MoreWe had an amazing time at Il Moro. Our server, Antonio was welcoming from the beginning and made our experience absolutely wonderful in the city of Bologna. The food was authentic and delicious. We tried the Mortadella salad, Burrata, Lasagna, Tortellini, Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. The restaurant has an amazing wine collection ranging from local wineries and extending to all regions of Italy. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling to or passing by Bologna. Don’t forget to finish your meal with a chilled Limoncello - grazie mille Antonio and Il Moro!!!
MoreSuch a great location! Not far from the centre, but away from the crowd. The food is amazing, I totally recommend the black tortellini with truffle butter. The serving was quick and really nice. If I come back to Bologna, will definitely return here!
MoreWe were a company of 3 girls looking for a nice place to dine and found the right one. Awesome guest service! Especially from one of the male servants, who made our whole evening really fun and enjoyable.
MoreMy menu :Carciofi for the antipasti and tortellini alla pannaThe atmosphere :Very warm and classyThe price :Tip topThe napkins :SweetThe limoncello :AbundanceMy friends :AmazingWaiters :Lovely
MoreMy son and I went to Bologna to celebrate his 10th birthday with no plan other than to enjoy the city. We ended up eating here twice, because he loved it that much. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making our dining an experience that had my son talking about it long after we left. We would love to visit again! Thank you all, and in particular, Manuel!
MoreWe had a few hours in Bologna and we just had to try the famous bolognese pasta. Im glad we did it in this restaurant! It was amazing, the waiter was so nice and friendly. Also, Id like to mention that we were in Bologna in the afternoon and almost every restaurant is closed. However this great place works in the afternoon!
MoreI loved this restaurant.Ate here 2 times and the food was amazing all the time.I had a diavola pizza which was huge and delicious.Of course I had to try pasta Bolognese if I was in Bologna and again .. amazing. The prices were fair.. the pizza was 8 euros and the pasta around 10 euros. The only thing that I didnt quite like was the coperto price which was 3 euros in weekend and 2.4 euros during weekdays. I thought it was a little pricey but the food and the place it self were good.
MoreFood was good and authentic - pizza was fine, but some ingredients as sausages and ham were not so fresh. We had a great waitress, a man from Naples, and another nice girl, but the rest of the staff was helpless and rude. We wait for a quite long time to get our food.
MoreThe food is wonderful! Weve tried the bruschetta al pomodoro, the truffle pasta, the tortellini en brodo and shared the lasagna al ragù. We couldnt choose so we took it all, haha! First of all the service is so friendly, we were so indecisive but the waiter helped us out in a very calm and friendly way. The food is served with care and a lot of taste. Will definitely go back here when visiting Bologna again!
Morevery authentic italian reataurant. goid food, lambrusco, proseco. the beef was magnific.
MoreWe had dinner here. The food was AMAZING for the price. I can only recommend the burger and the tortellini with parmesan sauce. If I‘m in Bologna again, I will surely come back.
MoreWe had 2 pizzas and the gramigna alla salsiccia. It was very delicious. It was the first time I tried this type of pasta, I really enjoyed the curly texture. We had chili oil which I used quite a lot of, it really brought the life to dish for me. But I really like spicy food.
MoreFantastico! Fabulous lasagna, meatballs in marinara and peas. Excellent service in fluent English.
MoreGreat food!! Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable in wine. Really nice atmosphere.
MoreI ate at this restaurant twice in my 4 day stay in Bologna. The food was fantastic and the staff was great. It off the beaten path so it was a nice and peaceful dinning experience. I would definitely recommend ll Moro.
MoreThe foods were good. But, I think that I can make them in my kitchen. I recommend Bologna style pasta.
MoreIt actually is a nice restaurant with very good waiters but we somehow felt bad because we didn’t order more than 1 pizza for 2 because it was just too hot to eat a lot. The oven gets already shut down at 14:00 but they still managed to make us a very good and fresh pizza somehow 🤔 We also got nice bread with olive oil and Balsamico in advance and the bottled water came with a lot of ice and lemon. On the recept we had an extra 2,50€ each for the setting of the table and nobody said anything upfront. That was a bummer and may unfortunately be a reason for us to not come back.
MoreThis place is amazing! The location is very convenient, the food tastes amazing and there are so many choices! The stuff is kind, funny and professional, they go out of their way to make one feel special in this place. The prices are good and the desserts in particular are to die for. I come here with everybody who visits and Id strongly recommend it to anybody who wants to spend a special bolognese night!
MoreAmazing restaurant in the heart of Bologna. Loved the black truffle tortellini and a bottle of red. Stunning atmosphere sitting outside looking at the Crowd walking past. Great service and friendly staff.
MoreRestaurant with a vibe of a local place.Good price for value, amazing food, friendly staff. Free glass of prosecco as a welcome drink.
