Fee-based recreational beach with a cafe, bath facilities & activities such as swimming & boating.
Ikei Beach in Katsuren-haebaru
Description
Privilege
Lovely beach, well maintained. 400 yen entry fee
Beautiful place for you should pay for entrance.
Charge 600 yen to enter. All beaches must be free. Its a rip-off and not even big.
MorePerfect beach spot for renting water trikes, wake boarding or jet skiing without having to drive too far from McT/Courtney area. 400 yen per person to use beach. If you bring a snorkel, you have to rent their life vest for 500 yen.
MoreRetro style beach. Alot of parking. They provide gas grills, bring your food to grill. Individual tents up to 20, but they have 10 tents so.... Service sinks to wash your containers, etc... Beach raft, bicycles, lounge chairs. Best of all, they have small 6 tatami size AC rooms...Also, there is a AC restaurant serving light items & ice cream.
MoreNicely maintained beach. There is an entry fee of 400 yen. All other facilities are payable like usage of shower, changing rooms. Common places and washrooms, toilets are not tidy.
MoreYou have to pay to be on the beach and there is snorkeling allowed, bring food and drinks other than that, its secluded and beautiful!
MoreGreat little beach that we stopped at today after visiting the sunflower field. We were told that we weren’t allowed to swim in the water today but that didn’t stop the girls from going in up to their knees. It was $2 a person to “sight see”, we wish we could have stayed longer but they closed the beach at 2:30.
MoreNice beach with a lot of amenities. Too crowded so we left and went elsewhere
So beautiful. Water was crystal clear. The kids had fun looking for crabs and seashells. There was a place to get food and eat it there. Hamburgers, chicken nuggets and ice cream.
MoreThough the beach area is not that much big. But it has a great scenic view. We did banana boat activity here which is very cheap comparing to the other beaches in Naha. 1000¥ per person. 8 can seat in one single boat. Car Parking is free. Shower is paid and the locker two. I didn’t like that thing that We had to pay separately for shower and locker.
MorePrivately organised public beach. It’s beautiful though. You’re charged for the entry and then all other thing’s.They do rent out kind of everything related to beach. You can bring your own tent and sit and relax, but not own barbecue.Swimming area is defined. They have all kinds of water sports available.
MoreHave to confirm other reviews: you have to pay for absolutely everything. We brought our own BBQ but werent allowed to use it had to rent for 2000 yen. Entrance is 400 per person. Youre not allowed to snorkel unless you pay and youre not allowed to swim outside the guarded area. And then they closed at 4 pm and the sign about this was only put out well after noon! There are plenty more beautiful beaches on Okinawa, dont waste your time on this one.
MoreJust wanted to see the beach, but we were requested rudely by a guy for 200 yen per person! He was very rude to us.
MoreThe management company charges for everything even entering a beach you have to buy a ticket. Extra Yen for dipping your feet in.
MorePublic beach treated like a private thing.Opens late like 8:30They just wanna make money in there, even with locals. If you dont care to spend a lot lot lot of cash, its a good place. They kind force you rent everything, even if you bring your own gear, can you believe it?
MoreYou have to pay to go on the beach, pay for sunbeds and umbrellas. Quite busy with music playing over speakers. Had fish burger and hot dog in cafe which were ok. Showers are 100 yen as well. Everything closed at 4.30ish. Good swimming.
MoreExpensive beach to visit. Clear water. Ala carte water activities, entrance fees, even tentages, shower water, are chargeable.
MoreA small beach with a friendly vibe. You have to pay an entrance fee upon entering the venue. There is a locker room where you can change your clothings and coin lockers to keep your belongings. Also there are vending machines at the entrance to the beach where you can buy tickets for beach item rentals and marine activities. They also have a restaurant where you can get some drinks and snacks as well as Okinawan dishes. Tofu champuru was one of the best!
MoreAnother beautiful beach area in Okinawa. The amount of sea life will amaze you, truly wonderful to see such vibrant colors under the water. Staff is great and very helpful. Its a great way to spend a day.
MoreBeautiful small beach, the water is so clean and clear. But I’ve to say it’s my very first time to pay to get into a beach!
MoreThis is a gorgeous beach and they certainly picked the right spot to corner because the marine life was plentiful and dazzling. However, they have a fee for just about everything!! They require you to rent a life jacket just to use your snorkel. Not the mask mind you- sure go ahead & cover your nose, but the snorkel piece. Really?! It’s ridiculous. On the bright side, they were generous enough to allow us to use the bathroom without paying, while out hiking one day.For us, this is maybe a once a year trip because of the prices. We can find other beaches that don’t break the bank.
MoreVery beautiful beach! Great for photos, its a nice scenic drive, and not too far from Okinawa City. The facilities are great and there are additional fun options you can hire like snorkeling tours, inflatables, an underwater camera and more. It costs to go in to the beach though, more if you want to swim. I think it was about ¥400 when I went recently. I highly recommend this beach.
MoreIkei Beach is nice, but the entrance fee is more expensive at $4 comparied to other places here in Okinawa. Although its to pay for the helpful staff and restrooms and other amenities offered. There are many huts to be rented as well as other items such as jetskis, banana boats, kayakas and paddle boards.
MoreToll beach. Wonder why need entrance fee for beach?
Nice setting...but must pay to enter.
Ticket guy didnt even allow me to have a quick look at the beach before buying tickets for the whole family. Pretty disappointing and rude. Weve decided its not worth buying "cat in a bag" and left.
MoreThe beach is beautiful and provides a clear and relatively deep environment for snorkeling. Rentals are a bit expensive though
MoreBeautiful beach with fish. The facilities at the beach is good and decent but you need to pay for everything. If you would like to see more fish, please go to 大泊 beach.
MoreI dont understand why one has to pay for an entrance fee (i suppose it is not a private beach), which does not yet cover the fee for showers. And the sea water is relatively muddy when compared to other beaches in okinawa, which I can actually see sea cucumbers and fish at the sea bed. I have to accept that the view is nice. But I will never go to this beach again
MoreA really beautiful beach! They have available tent areas to rent, a couple of floating docks in the water, and lots of water sports like jet skis that a "pay to play." This isnt the cheapest beach experience in Okinawa, but it was very well maintained and despite being a smaller area and even with a lot of people it didnt seem crowded. Keep in mind, as will all places in Okinawa, the parking sucks!! Carpool with as many people as possible and get there early or youll have a tough time finding anywhere to park.
MoreThis beach made us sad. We paid the $400 yen entrance and after we settle down on the beach, the guide told us that we cannot use our own life jacket and Goggle for snorkelling. This was really frustrating. They were like really looking for more money and asked us to rent them. The excuse they used was that our Goggles were not safe! And I asked why and they cannot explain and told us that this is the beach rule!! Ridiculous answer. Also, I have jumped into the sea with a swimming Goggle and found that the water was not clean and I will not suggest anyone to come. I went to two other beaches (oodomari and tonnaha and they were so good compared to ikei beach.
MoreFun beautiful little beach. Depending on the day, rhe left or right side will be open for swimming. You can also do flyboarding, tubing, glass bottom boat, and snorkel. Prices are a little steep on the activities, chairs, and umbrellas. There is also a cover to go onto the beach. Great photo spot
MoreBeautiful beach, you have to pay to get in, I think it’s 500-800yen per adult. They have beach stuff to rent like kayaks and paddle boards. They have tents but I think you have to rent them. The whole island is beautiful and worth exploring.
MoreVery nice beach and friendly staff. There are plenty of extras that you can pay for as well.
MoreBeautiful area and worth the trip. Be careful navigating. You can easily find your way into the residential areas where the streets are very narrow.
MoreBeautiful beach with options to have fun on the water. Big wheel water tricycles, banana boats, a protected swim area, snorkeling, restaurant, gift shop, lots of parking, and shady spots to sit and enjoy the view. Prices vary for what you are here for. Parking in the main lot is 400 yen. Sightseeing is just 200 yen. Swimming or just spending the day at the beach have their own price. Its well worth it, I assure you. This is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and it has everything youll need to enjoy your visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful views on both sides so bring your camera and take lots of pictures!
MoreThis is my favourite beach.
A little pricey but clean and with good amenities. Showers. Lockers. Bathrooms. Tents. LIFEGUARDS!!! RESTAURANT. 400YEN ADULT. 300YEN CHILD. Check it out.
MoreVery family friendly. Beautiful clear water that goes MUCH deeper than 5ft. which is a nice change from the poplar beaches near Kinser & Foster. 400¥ for each person over 12, 300¥ for those 6-12. Floatation rentals, as well as to bottom boats, kayak, etc. A great place to spend the day.
MoreThe Beach is beautiful with good people always ready to accommodate you. Just bring extra yen with you for the rides you wanna try, some of them are not cheap but all worth it. 👍
MoreIt is a small but beautiful beach. Well managed with convenient shower rooms.
Beautiful beach with an awesome back ground. Even on a day with an overcast its nice.
MoreFamily friendly beach, plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. Aqua bike, glass boat tour, jet skiing and plenty more.
MoreIkei beach was lovely. Although this beach is small in size, its worth the drive as there are many winding, curvy roads, but the rewards of reaching this destination are the beautiful views of the inner Kinbu bay, crystal clear water, white sand, and thevawesome finds of distinctful visually attractive seashells that are intact as if undisturbed by humans.
MoreFantastic beach, very photogenic! 400yen/adult, and 200yen for a 5min shower.
Lovely secluded beach. Adults and children must pay for tickets ($2-4 each). Well worth the price! Most beaches on Okinawa have a small area netted off for swimmers to stay inside. Lifeguard is on duty and there are several grill areas covered by tents for rent. Bring food with you unless vending machines are what you like to eat lunch from.
MoreOver the years I have visited Ikei-jima many times. The beach is always a good place to stop by for some refreshments or a lunch. It is a clean beach, which may get crowded during peak season. The staff are friendly and polite and it is a nice place to take family. There is a small charge for use of the facilities but, it wont break the bank.
MoreLoved it, first time in a year out in the sun, got high degree burns, but worth every minute of it.Awesome beach-sand, amazing water, spent from morning to evening. Can go on boat - fish sightseeing, rent equipment, other activities.
MoreVery nice beach. Had all the water things to do. Snorkel, tube rides, boat rides and the like. Cost ¥400 per person to get in. There are tables, grills and umbrellas. Small restaurant. If you snorkel be aware that they require you wear a life vest.Overall it was a great day at the beach.
