It was the first place I visited in Nicaragua. The taxi driver recommended another one, but we moved to Iguana, since we liked the building with the style of a wooden beach and the balcony.

Great spot right on the beach. I ordered the day special fish with capers and it was great. They have good prices for the area combined with a good atmosphere. My service was just as good as the food and i will return.

Terrible place. Dont come for breakfast to this dump!! $5 for breakfast is a complete ripoff. Just one!! thin piece of bread, two eggs and one piece of bacon cut into two pieces.

Ive been In nicaragua for about 4 months all over the country, this is the only place we have had bad drinks, they were not just bad, but terrible.On top of that we got no service. We sat with empty drinks for over 1 hour and nobody cared to check on us, the place had 0 other customers, they just sat around.On top of that it was happy hour, 2 for 1 drinks, the waiter confirmed that. But he refused to give us our second drinks and charged us the full price of the drinks even though he never gave us the happy hour.Would not recommend this place to anyone and we definitely will not be back or recommend it to anyone

I was charged for 2 beers extra, complained about it, and then they wanted me to sit there for 2 hours to view the camera footage. The bartender woman was rude about it, too.The nachos are actually a taco salad, because the cheese isnt melted. The prices are way too high for Nicaragua. The menu prices dont include VAT and 10% tips. I had an Iguana burger, fries, and a soda for over $13 USD.

Expect to pay more for beers mainly because of their beachfront location. All female staff were rude, didn’t smile or acknowledge us once til we paid the bill.

This place has the view to the beach as all other bars in the street but it plays up to date Latin music and has good food.very attentive. Prices are same or similar to the other restaurants in the area. Great for a full meal or a great bite.

Do not go here! They change foodprices on the board at the entrance, have very rude staff and induce you to eat expensive food while telling you a much lower price. You will need to pay $10 for a horribly prepared special instead of $3.

Saturday is from 03:00pm to 05:00pm for example. They take credit cards.

The view is great and the drink specials are alright. Wasnt too fond of the wings, but still delicious at 50cents USD.The broccoli soup was delicious and the plate of the day was ok.I wouldnt come back for the food unless it was for appetizers .The staff is friendly and quick to serve.

Beer is cheap, but food expensive. $16 for hot wings, fries, and bowl of rice. $6 for a Smirnoff. Second visit, once again cheap beer, great service, and two dinners with five beers, tax and tip $25

Good place, reasonable drink prices. We went on a Satuday night and a DJ was spinning mostly local music that wasnt my favorite but the locals were really enjoying it. Wish the volume were about 50% lower because it was difficult to have a conversation. Got frisked on the way in by the guy at the door.

Happy Hour from 2pm - 7pm which we enjoyed several times during our stay in San Juan del Sur. They also have happy hour on shots from 8pm till midnight. Good casual vibe that works very well as it is on the beach. Good service as well.

Been here a few times. Its always quite good for what it is. Its a bar with food. The drinks are good, food is great, music is good. Went for breakfast and that was great and the music was light, which is how I want my day to start.Has TVsOn the beach, with some chairs and tables, on the sand.Rock music during the day and night.Upstairs bar too.

The service here is okay. But the food is terrible and extremely expensive. It’s over priced and and has no flavor. I ordered a sandwich with vegetables and cheese... the sandwich was more bread then anything. My sister ordered wings and it wasn’t even fully cooked. The drinks are more water then anything. I would not suggest coming here. I was surprised to see that this restaurant has 4 stars. It should be 1.

Great service, excellent value at Happy Hour. Menu prices are reasonable and actually lower in price than most Beachfront RestaurantsThis visit I only ordered HH wings which unfortunately were super crispy. But I should have known.All in all Iguana Bar does it right

If the night life is for you in San Juan del sur then you will likely end up at the Iguana bar. Food is spot on and what you would expect from a bar and grill. Hamburgers chili cheese fries to great ceviche and other seafood dishes. A bit expensive but, thats what happens when you are the most popular club on the strip.

Beach bar and booze bar in the night. On two floors. Ladies night from Sunday to Thursday. Happy hour for cocktails till 7pm everyday. Nice terrace facing San Juan bay. VIP bar named The Black Pearl. Definitely worth of a visit or more. Busy on Friday and Saturday.

If you like lobster, get it here! Youll get 4 huge lobsters tails for a fantastic price. The restaurant is on the beach, so you can take six steps from the restaurant and youre in the beach.However, only use local money (Cordobas). They have their own special exchange rate for dollars, and youll end up paying more.

Would not eat here again. Overpriced, on the beach fair, and lack of good quality food. I had a very less than impressive shrimp soup. My father had a cheeseburger that he had to lift up the bun to see if there was even a hamburger patty under it. Barely. Service was acceptable however I wouldnt suggest wasting your time or money here. There are much better and less expensive restaurants to eat at in San Juan.

Food was decent but the drinks are a bit expensive. Even the basic Tona. Not to mention the added tax and service fee, on top of the already overpriced bill.

Staff was ok, not great but not bad either. The food is very good though (I recommend the fish tacos or mixed tacos). Drinks are pretty cheap and plentiful. I recommend going there for sunset, and getting a table on the top floor terrace beachside. It makes for some pretty great pictures.

Excellent food. Terrific views. Really good food.Weve been there a few times. Check your bill carefully. They have tried to overcharge me both times I went for dinner. They only tried to overcharge me once during happy hour.Most of the staff is very nice BUT I was recently laughed at several times by a server and made fun of, in spanish, over my order. He didnt realize I understood him perfectly and that I wasnt "a visitor who does not understand good food." I may not speak spanish well but I did clearly inform him I live in SJdS and asking for extra cheese for a chicken sandwich has nothing to do with my knowledge of good food. Yes, over a CHICKEN SANDWICH!!!!!I dont believe my daughter or I will return. It was her treat to me on USAs Mothers day. She didnt want to ignore the day weve previously celebrated.The bill was $17USD higher then it should have been. We sat and waited for him to agree to change it. 23 minutes. The restaurant was almost empty and it took 23 minutes.

Pretty good food. No so good cocktails.We felt a bit disappointed with the cocktails although they fixed it afterwards.Food, on the other hand, was nice and the service was really nice.

The bar is beachfront and has a great view. However, they could definitely use friendlier staff. The waiters at the bar, especially during ladies nights, are not very happy to be serving you.

Really good view for the bay, In my case it wast the worst cheviche i ever hate, portion are ok , i pay with my credit card and the waitress repeats 3 time tips are not included in the bill that really ordinary , as Canadian I think we tip well when we had the service

Fun dive bar in San Juan Del Sur. We caught a band playing, but the band stopped at 10pm on a weekday, not sure why. Crusty old drunks, gringos and locals add to the flavor.

This bar rocks. The beers are cheap, and cold, and the view of the water is memorable. Ive been here time and time again. Come here and leave happy. Cheers!

Great place all kind of music and people go on the roof terrace for late drinks. Only they need to change the dj he is terrible lots of music stops and can not mix at all.

Great music full of party living tourists and eager to score locals. Toilets are in a need of attention but overall the best place to spend a crazy night.
