Ibrahim Palace - Historical place museum in Al Hufuf, Saudi Arabia
A must to visit in Al-Ahsa tour, even if you miss the chance to enter it, still the scenery from outside is worth the visit. The Ibrahim palace in Al-Hofuf has stood the test of time and efforts are continuous to maintain the structure. This historical palace is an architectural masterpiece that was a Turkish military barracks in eastern Saudi Arabia and the main headquarters of the Ottoman garrison in Al-Ahsa. King Abdulaziz al-Saud (mercy on himentered the castle to announce the annexation of Alhassa in 1331 Hijri. The center of the palace, which was built in 963 Hijri, is the Al-Qubba mosque. The facilities, the Ottoman prison, the weapons storehouse and the Turkish baths were built around it. The Ibrahim Palace covers an area of 16,500 square meters. It combines both Islamic and military architecture as its huge building and its upper balconies give the effect of typical castles.
Ibrahim palace is one of the most ancient fort in Hofuf,. Its built around hundreds of years back! Its located in eastern part of Saudi Arabia,Al Ahsa, Hofuf. This palace is the main historical fiction in the ancient Persia. Inside the fort there is mosque and museum, now its running under by the Saudi tourism authority. Every couple of years they will be renovates by the concern authority. Mostly foreigners and others visited every single day.
Promised tourist destination that is need to more development.
Ibrahim Palace near Old Kout
Its closed. Not ready for tourist? It was built on 10th century. And Hasa is very historic city .It is worth to visit. I hope soon open for public.I visited 12 January 2022 around 11 am . It was 2 nd visit 2-3 years it was closed by renovating that time too. I hope more accurate sign for open hours. And more information ! I wish Hasa tourism care more for tourist. Preparing Guide and catalogs are important too!I have been travelled over 47countries but I feel saudi is not fully ready for that yet.As a person who live in Saudi I am so sadThat fact. People should be proud of their heritage and have more easy approach for their history and pride!
Historical palace and mosque. The building was not fully open when visited. The mosque is beautiful and very clean. Big potential as attraction for the city.
Could not visit inside. Timings are not clearly mentioned anywhere.
Unfortunately it was closed when we visited. It was a sunset and the exterior look was stunning 👌🏽
The place was closed and couldnt go in
Was closed but looks nice from outside, no info on hours of there us its wrong
Provides a nice contrast of Ottoman and local architecture
I went there around 3:30 pm but it was already closed... Heard that it opens but I am not sure about the timings...
I live near the palace... it is located near the downtown area of hofuf .... you can find souq al qasariyah ( the old hofuf marketnear this as well as many blankets, electronics , cosmetics , restaurants, showrooms etc ....There is a small park located right next to the palace across the Main Street.... the palace needs lot of maintenance and its museum is barely open... there’s literally no use of visiting the palace .... the only perks are its surrounding area...You can find cool photography spots here and that’s a fact!!!
Its good place to visit if u r interested in history of Arab
Good place but require some renovation also they need to open the museum
I dont know why it is opened for only a very short time. 8am to 4pm only, except Friday. Secondly, they have closed half of the inner portion with fences and written "no entry". All rooms are locked, nobody can go inside. Only mosque is open :(
Nicely capt and maintained UNESCO world heritage site.
Wow i m really in love with this palace i m going to visit hafouf today for my vlogs so hope i can reach on time . Let u know about my experience soon.
You can now offer Salah in this historic palace and is open for public.
As the other reviewers have posted this place is closed for no obvious reason mid-afternoon on a weekday, with no published opening hours or other notification. Very off putting when you have been driving all the way from Dammam.

Closed. May be for renovations. No information when they will open. I suggest them to put up some information regarding timings in front of gate.
I have reached this place 3 times in last one year and all the time it was closed. From outside, its look historic, antique and promising. I dont know why it was always closed. The facility had no information desk or any notice boards about the operation timings. Really disappoint seeing the place left out without any helpful information for the visitors
I have visited the palace several time but I couldn’t have the chance to get in. It is familiar design in the Arabian peninsula. Very much similar to Masmak in Riyadh and Aaly Palace in Quariya Ulia.
Its worth visiting.....with lots of history attached
Visited the place 3 times but its always closed due to renovation. This historical place is an architectural masterpiece which is surrounded by high wall that is likely made of clay material with big wooden gate. If you’re planning to visit here, just make sure that it’s open before heading here.
Nice place and you will be lucky if you have a chance to visit it from inside.
Historical place but not much to visit
A wonderful place where you can reminisce the life of our patriarchy.
Very nice need more attention from tourism ministry
Nice place .It was closed when I visited it on 1st of February 2019 at 3pm.
Very nice and historical place but need special attention as because there is no maintenance, the gate is closed no one can get in..
There was no sign posted for the working hours, I was not able to get in with my family around 1.15pm.
The last I visited, the gate was open, no organised tour, the place had not been maintained well. The masjid was in use and well looked aftered.
Most of places I found closed or temporarly closed, so I can not say exactly about thia place coz when I went to visit after 4pm on friday it was closed I asked some people they said mostly this place is found closed.
02-Sep-2017: This place is closed by Ministry for Renovation. Traveled all the way from Dammam to find that this is closed.
Unfortunately when we reached there it was closed for maintenance purpose. The outer walls are built with clay and clearly visible that were made hundreds of years ago.
Good from outside. Huge one. Couldnt get in. Because its closed for renovation. Please dont waste time going here now
As of August 2018, the palace grounds are closed for repairs for the last 6 to 8 months. A side wall had caved in.
It is one of the few important historical sites of Al Ahsa.It must be undergo a thorough maintenance and repair. It should be promotional activities conducted for tourist visits.Local and foreign tourists coming to that area will contribute to the economic development of the people of the region.
This place is closed without any notice... both from tourism and as well as Google also not updated.. Will be great disappointment for tourist who r coming from other countries to see this historic place..Dont know when it will open
Its a shame that no maintenance appears to be conducted on this structure. One part of the wall had collapsed and nothing appears to be done to start the repairs. Also, no opening hours are posted to look inside. Good to look at the outside walls , but this is a monument in fast decline.
CLOSED!!The site is closed for renovation and has been closed for a while now... without putting up till when it will be over.
Interesting, but quite empty place. You definately need a guide to make sense out of it.
good place ..parking areas around such historical place looks a bad idea ...
Closed for renovation. Its a preserved evidence of a past civilisation coupled with few novel additions to comfort the visitors.
Great when its open but dont expect a guided tour...
Nice castle that has been restored. Some parts are still closed off. There are nice information signs explaining the history and different sections.
