Thank you to Tai and Dear for delicious cocktails. Tai knows his cocktails and created a blend of art and technique that was very entertaining.Martini, Rose of Mary and Island of Fire are great choices.Jazz trio was very good. We were disappointed that they finish at 9pm.

While a generous cocktail menus is offered, the staff are clearly under trained... Meaning your wait time is increased... Big business trying to be welcoming and warm... Ok if staying here... Would travel further if wanting quality service

What a great find! With friendly and knowledgeable staff, a great environment, superb cocktail and drinks list .. and on the night we went a fantastic jazz trio (the young lady singing was amazing!)... There was no better way to spend a couple of hours on a Friday night!One of the highlights of our trip to Hobart!

A lovely, cosy bar with a welcoming decor for locals and tourists alike. The service was outstanding with the bartenders not only showcasing their knowledge but also being friendly and happy to have a chat when suitable. Worst Negroni Ive ever had.Glass was 90% 1 huge ice cube!!!!!!!!Very strange. 10% drink for $20.Proportions not right.Tasted strange. Not a normal cocktail!!Go somewhere else!

The Yuzu cocktail was the best drink I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere and bartenders were amazing.

Here we enjoyed above average cocktails from a thoughtfully designed menu made by the expert bar men. It was a joy to watch the cocktails being made with such passion and skill.

Great place to go and visit, with the history and architecture. Very nice!

We were a bit chilly & asked for a cocktail to warm us up! The barmen all enthusiastic. Had a fab hot whiskey. They encouraged us to come back the next night to hear the jazz band, so we did. Highly recommend

Ordered a $26 toasted Club sandwich. The "toast" is completely white (non toasted). I sent it back and 10 minutes later, I get exactly the same! I drink here every Friday for 4 years. Very disappointed. For a high end hotel to get such a basic item so wrong to be inedible Im shocked. Expensive Club sandwich, badly done. Skip the food.

Excellent range of spirits. Staff with great knowledge and extremely friendly. Expensive but high quality is worth it. 5 star bar, but be prepared to wait for your drink

Better than average hotel bar. Its quite small so you might end up sitting outside or in the hotel lobby. Good cocktails and friendly staff. Live music was great, perfect volume and ambiance. On the expensive side.

Beautiful vibe, bartenders are amazing, cocktails are delicious, if you have a specific cocktail preference not on the menu, ask the bartenders and they’ll hook you up with some deliciousness, highly recommend

Dropped in here for a drink and found an amazing space with excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff and a superb range of drinks, focusing on local but plenty of range outside that also. Will be a permanent fixture on any future trips to Hobart.

Heres a great place to hang out with friends! Attentive staff and an amazing range of drinks from craft beers on tap, cans & bottles in the fridge to top shelf favourites including some youve never seen before, as well as a very special variety of quality Tasmanian wines, whiskeys and gin! Tonight, Thursday, Randal Muir added his fine touch to the Yamaha upright piano on site! Highly recommended if you enjoy popular tunes on the "ivories" with a professional approach.. and all aspects of this small bar combine to present a very pleasant atmosphere in a comfortable, intimate environment! Go there ☺

Great drinks, but could do with a little more in the way of comfy seats - when youre looking to escape a polar vortex, comfort is key!

Great little bar situated on the water front of Hobart! There was live music and lots of people in there when I was there and even in the business the bar staff made me feel like I was the only one there really giving some great service! Visiting Hobart? Definitely check out this bar!

Was sceptical cause hotel bars are usually bad. But this was a really good experience. Staff were knowledgeable and had unique local Tasmanian ingredients on offer. Drinks were made and presented well.

We stopped here for a nightcap. They had a great selection of whiskies. There was a port barrel one which was great. The bartender serving want as knowledgeable as I liked but we had a good night nevertheless.

What a beautiful little bar with fantastic service, a huge drinks list including an amazing range of wine and last, but not least, an amazing live jazz band! It really brought the house down without being too overwhelming for the relatively small bar - amazing!

3.2This is a small but attractive bar attached to the well known art hotel. Good selection of alcohol here including a rather fetching calvados that brought back memories of a Normandie trip long ago and visits to local calvados makers.Service is a bit variable at the IXL bar. We ordered a cheese platter and were solemnly promised by the bar server that the platter would be delivered to the seating area in the hotel reception just beside the bar entrance. We went to that area because the bar itself was very busy. However, the cheese wasn’t delivered as promised and on enquiry we found the lost platter ourselves lying forlorn and forgotten at the far end of the bar. Not good. At least the local cheeses on the platter were very good highlighted by a spectacular blue. Overall, it was a good platter.Note, an unexpected advantage of sitting in reception is watching the guests wander in and out. Speaking of art, who remembers Mr Curly and the great impressionists?I’d give the bar another go perhaps.

What a great bar. Customer service is the best. Levi and Ash are some of th ed best bartenders Ive ever been served by. Will definitely be back and will be recommending it to everyone I know. Love the Movember guys.

This bar is the cream of the crop the bar staff make the best cocktails in town draws a national/international crowd due to the accommodation above which I love the bar is small and is an excellent place to quaff seasonal cocktails and listen to some cool jazz on a cold winters night I love this place ♡♡♡

I usually am not one to leave less than a generous review, however the barman was a little mouthy for my liking - I really wasn’t in the mood for smart-alleck remarks after a tiring flight. I think there was a slight lack of awareness as to how to service different customers. However, when my guests and I proceeded to the lounge area, we enjoyed our drinks and the surroundings.

Awesome cocktails. Bar staff are very nice and helpful. Live jazz on Saturday nights make this place something special.

Best venue in Hobart for jazz & blues inspired jazz, Nicole McIntyre trio were better than most acts youll see in Sydney or Melbourne; good every weekend & a top selection of beers, wine & spirits!

This was the highlight of my trip to tassie! I sat in the bar with my parents on our first night and we listened to a beautiful live jazz trio, sipping fine Tasmanian wine. Cant wait to come back!

Came into this suave establishment 15 minutes before close on a Wednesday night, ordered a Havana club rum selecciõn (one you dont get to see very often in most bars), I did expect to get rushed as the bar would be closing soon but I was treated by the Bartender (Anthonyas if we had all the time in the world which finished my evening on a relaxing note. Anthonys knowledge and conversation was most refreshing and enticing, as its not very often that I get to meet fellow bartenders with such enthusiasm and knowledge for their trade, he has also pointed me in the right direction for a new rum in my liquor cabinet, the dictador 12 year. The wine, liqour and coctail list is well thought out and is generously diverse, I would definitely recommend this bar to those who have an upmost respect and patience for the art in a glass that they will recieve here.Service: 10/10Decor: 10/10Atmosphere: 8/10 (was a little quiet)Menu: 10/10Knowledge: 10/10
