If you are looking for hygienic place,then you should consider other options.Food quality and taste is ok-ok worth a try.

If you eat there , then its good . And if you take parcel and eat your food after 1 hour or 2 hour , then mutton gravy turns in to a thick layer . And tastes become very bad..it tastes like only it is made of turmeric.

Must TRY.. MORE than 100 years legacy of sublime authentic Bengali food with Utmost pocket friendly..visited mutiple times. But this is after corona.Same old place..same historic and authentic vibes..same home style atmosphere..same high energy service..same taste of food..Mutton curry must try..dahi rohu or Katla also..but avaliablility depends on early presence. Various kind if sabji and curry avaliable on daily basis to be accompanied.Located at centre workholic location of ranchi on main road..you may find daily visitors there as well.

Excellent Bengali food served here, whether it be non-veg or veg. Very busy hotel and one has to stand in queue, especially in weekdays except Sunday.

The name speaks for itself. Come here and youll never be disappointed with food, especially mutton. You might have to wait for 10 mins or so for a table though but I promise itll be worth it.

Everyone knows about mutton in India hotel. I am just sharing my experience..we went with my 2.5 yrs daughter who cant eat spicy or chilly, so I approach little bit ghee/butter as it was heavy raining outside..but the response become so rude. As per them everything was finished in their kitchen..I never experienced this type of behaviour till date..so I suggest everybody please dont go with your baby, they are ready to serve you but dont expect humanity ground..

The legacy of India Hotel has come to an end. Mutton curry taste has changed. Rice uncooked. I disliked the mutton and would never recommend it to anyone. A very bad experience.

Food is awesome specially nonveg. Rates are very reasonable. Need little cleanliness.

Service is good but the rate list confused us. On display rate was half plat and they serve us full plate and the charges are totally different.

Khana thik haiBut attitude typical kanjush wala .They dont serve extra gravy with chicken and fish if someone wants extra rice...you have to either take dal or something else.They can charge extra for gravy but should provide.

Famous and nostalgic eating place of this town। Established decades back। Known for Bengali dishes which are not available at any other place। Very homely taste and the preparation of mutton curry holds the same old taste from years back। Fish items are very much on demand।

Lost my trust earlier it used to be very nice place I went there to rejuvenate my childhood with my father but food taste is much different this time.

This place serves authentic Bengali cuisines since 1964. It is one the favourite places of the foodies of Ranchi. There is rush most of the time and even waiting.We tried mutton curry and sarson rohu fish, The dishes were not so spicy. But, yes tasteful.

Go to place for Bengali people and people who loves to eat matan and chicken. Very reasonable and affordable price. Go for launch or dinner. This place has facility of dine in, take out and home delivery as well.

After watching so much videos on youtube I decided to visit this placeAnd it was a total bummer...this is only my personal opinion.I ordered mutton and rice for which this place is famous for and it was totally a bust.They put so much oil into the mutton curry, its taste was also not good, it tasted like a below average mutton dish which you can get anywhere at a road side low grade dhaba...and considering the price it was not a surprise...Personally I hated the taste, after taking 2-3 bites of the mutton I decided to leave it , honestly speaking the taste of potato peice was better than the mutton 😆...This was the first and last time that I am visiting this place for mutton may be I will try veg here next time...but after this horrible experience that also seems unlikely...For people who are like me who like good mutton...I would suggest to go to Moti Mahal and try mutton there, I have tried it before many times and its good.. ot sure about thr ranchi branch BTW.Or else you can try Madan dhaba which is good.

I had a few friends endlessly rave about India hotel and the food served there. So this time while i was in Ranchi , I had India hotel on my to do list. It was not difficult reaching the place as everyone seemed to know where it is. However, the hotel was tucked inside a very busy and crowded. On first reaching there, it was hardly what i had imagined. It was a small hotel done up minimally. We first ordered plain rice and Mutton. The mutton was absolutely out of this world and blew my mind. The best mutton ever. The mutton was cooked to perfection and was falling off the bone. The taste of that rice dunked into the gravy is one that i will never forget. The mutton was mild but flavourful and a definite must have. Next up i ordered some fish (rohu. This was a curry based fish, slightly spicy. It made a good combo with the rice. No Bengali food is ever complete without fish so next up, i ordered both fried fish. In my opinion the fried fish were okay. I have had much better fried. By the time we had reached the place, most of the dish were sold out. Wished we could have tried out more varieties.I loved the food here and i recommend everyone try the mutton here. You will not regret.

Dining date: 5th December 2021I had fond experience of dining here a few times back in 2000 when I was in Ranchi for work. It was a hotel which used to be preferred by long-term boarders and well-known for its food. I affectionately recall the temporary Sunday lunch arrangement on the roof. On the weekdays the food was served in the permanent arrangement on the first floor. The food used to be finger-licking good! The mutton curry deserved a special mention.Visited it again last December during a work tour. The roof has now become a restaurant where travellers frequent. It has very basic seating arrangement with plastic tables and chairs. It is the best-known Bengali restaurant in town now! But the food was a big letdown this time! I took shukto for myself, along with Sorshe Rohu, mutton curry and rice for us. The shukto lacked flavour disappointingly, so did the mutton curry, which was runny (though the mutton was well-cooked). I was aware that the mutton curry was a celebrated dish here! The Sorshe Rohu lacked the mustard punch.The quality has gone down by several notches with rising popularity over time.

For all the hype about the mutton served at India hotel, let me tell you it is not good at all.. Too much turmeric powder taste... Nothing special at all, not even good taste, ambience is also questionable... Food was served in very hot condition at rooftop

Nothing like wow , a hype is created for its food but the quality and quantity is Average. Its for them who wants to eat simple food at low cost. Dont expect too much from it.

I have tried mutton and chicken mostly and it was great in taste... and its a bengali restaurant so youll get fishes also with rice which costs extra. Its great in budget with awesome taste.

One of the Oldest eating place in Ranchi. You will find bengali dishes here at reasonable price. I found the much hyped mutton curry okay okay type.

Mutton was below average.Pehli wali baat nahi rahi.It totally lost its delicious taste which made this hotel famous.Its only hype.Owner must focus for enhancing taste of mutton .

You will get good Bengali food especially Mutton Rice. But you have to take token and wait for 20-30 minutes in queue. We went around 4pm. But still 25 people were on queue. Toomich crowded. Not good during the pandemic.

Not a luxury in aspect of overall ambience but luxury with food. It’s a best place if you want a simple mutton and rice. Food is simple but tasty specially mutton. Ambience won’t be that good if you want dine with your girlfriend ,wife or family but good pace for boys scout.

First time I came this pure tipical bengali restaurant in ranchi in ocassion of Diwali. I was try spl mutton thali, very nit & clean, pure hygiene food, well behaved staff, reasonable price. Enjoy 🤠 lot

Very good in Bengali cuisine, established in 1965 and till they are serving a quality food with good service person, and most importantly - budget friendly fooding…The only think is place is in top floor of the building, so place is too hot, ventilation is an issue, otherwise 9/10 .

Best Fish and Mutton at extremely affordable cost. Try once, you will go again for sure. Worth every penny you spend here. Rani Katla is the best choice for fish. Mutton is delicate and melts in mouth.

Old building style of Kolkata. Famous for fish, mutton especially. Vegetarians will not find it that nice. Rest a dish of brinjal was delicious. You must visit atleast once, if you come to Ranchi.

Kitchen is also good. Still they use coal for preparing the food. I can say best restaurant in the city. Prices are very much reasonable.
